Clean and very fancy business hotel. We could could see the Tokyo sky tree from our window ! Very comfortable room. Night staff is sometimes a bit rude, one of them wouldn’t let my girlfriend get patches for her tattoos so she could access the Onsen, even though that was complimentary. That was only once, and when we asked someone else, we got the patches. Otherwise, everyone is nice.

This hotel is very convenient to Ueno Station, so it's ideal for a first or last night when flying into Narita. Like other Tokyo hotels, rooms are quite small, but they come with everything you need. The bath on the 15th floor is nice, though the water could be hotter. The breakfast is good, but the restaurant is small, so you may need to wait to get in, especially when it opens at 7 am.

This was the absolute perfect place to stay for our short Japan trip. Having gone to Japan for school/work/leisure multiple times, I have to say this was one of my best experiences at a hotel. The location is perfect, right by the JR Yamanote-sen and multiple Shinkansen stops. The Ginza and Hibiya lines are even closer. Ameyoko is just across the street and it's walking distance from the Ueno Park and Okachimachi. It was so easy to get to everywhere we needed to go because of the location. More importantly, however, the staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. I mentioned in my initial message to the staff that I was most likely getting proposed to while there and asked if it was at all possible to get a nice room to celebrate the event. They went above and beyond and placed us on the 14th floor with a perfect view of the Skytree. I'll always remember that view fondly. Whether we needed tape or less towels or anything at all, the staff was ready to assist us. I am indebted to them for their generosity and their excellent service. For such an incredible price, you will be getting the best of the best at this hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone planning on staying Ueno/Tokyo.

I visit Japan regularly and having arrived in Tokyo this hotel is welcome pitstop that ticks all the boxes as a tourist. Clean, small rooms very thoughtfully designed with the traveller in mind. Despite other reviews stating that the air conditioning is centrally controlled throughout the property this is not the case. There is a control panel built in to the bed headboard, and along with the room lighting dimmer switches there is a touch panel that controls the in-room temperature and air-conditioning fan speed. Breakfast buffet is fine, served in a small Izakaya attached to reception. Will stay again.

Breakfast was okay, I came at around 8:20 and the food was cold but it was good and the service was lovely.

Laundry machines are limited to 4 driers and washers, would recommend going early in the morning.

Staff tried their best to be accommodating and did very well. Express checkout is a nice touch. Clean linens were at the door every day.

When staying, please keep in mind staircases are not for general use, and elevators get extremely busy during checkout time. Would recommend getting downstairs before having to wait 10-15 minutes.

The staff are very attentive to guests. Every time we walked near the reception, they noticed us immediately and were ready to assist. Even for simple questions, they were always willing to help. I was really impressed by their service.

The location is also great — just outside the crowded area. Once you cross the road, you’ll find plenty of food options, shopping streets, and a metro station nearby.

Great location near multiple subway stations and a lot of options for restaurants. Staff was helpful the whole time and I was suprised with the semi automated check in (there is some interaction with a person but you also interct with a computer by scanning your passport , you confirm some infomration and you get your breakfast coupons automatically). For the check out , you only drop your key in a dropbox and thatˋs it .

Room was small and felt the most...\"economical\"...out of the 3 economical hotels we stayed at during our trip. The washroom felt very small, and if you dripped water washing your hands in the sink, it would go on the toilet seat. Clean room, decent location. 2000 yen per hour if you want an early check-in, 500 yen if you want them to call you a taxi.

Staff was nice. The public bath was a bonus and very comfortable. Being in Tokyo, we expected the rooms to be small but they had many amenities. Our only complaint was that we couldn’t control the heat and went from quite warm to frigid on our first night which made for a rough sleep after traveling.

I chose this hotel because it is near the SkyLiner station, very convenient if you're going to the airport. The room was comfortable, a bit small but enough for two people. When I asked about breakfast, they told me it was sold out; I am not sure how that can happen, but there is a restaurant right next to the hotel so I ate there. The lobby was overcrowded with luggage, so there's not much room there if you need to accommodate your stuff. The staff was friendly and the check in/out process was very simple (same as all APA with a machine).

The room was small, but this is expected for a room in Tokyo at this price. The bummer about this place is the air conditioning. It is central and in March it is set for heat. Therefore, the room was very warm and stuffy. I was able to crack open the window and that cooled the room down. The water pressure is amazing. One of the best showers I have ever taken. The outdoor soa area on the top floor is also really nice. I would only ask that they address the air-conditioning situation. One last positive note, the location is outstanding. There is a fantastic yakitori place on the corner. Ueno is a great place to stay when visiting Tokyo.

First time in Tokyo to actually be able to do some sight seeing. Traveling with my girlfriend. I picked this location (though there are two or more other APA Hotel within a mile radius) b/c of the close proximity to the Ueno Park - with variety of museums and a beautiful park and the Ueno train station which has the express train: Keisei Skyliner that connects directly with Narita airport. The room
I had was a classic business hotel, small but contained all the necessary amenities. I paid extra for the breakfast buffet; which being familiar with Japanese breakfast food, it provides excellent big Japanese breakfast options. If you’re used to a more U.S. breakfast, it may seem different, but you may enjoy it! Just make sure to bring your voucher. I went within the first hour it opened so I never struggled with space to sit down but by the time we left, saw people waiting. They have an Onsen - Public bath on the top floor. I wanted to try but the lockers were full for me to have tried, so I ended up not doing it, but it it means all the lockers were filled for the men’s side, people really must enjoy it. Location like aforementioned with train station being close was easy to get around. Last day, we needed the bullet train access which was at Tokyo Station, which Ueno station has a direct line that only takes 5 min. You can also walk 2km to Asakusa!

It was very convenient because ueno station was nearby, and the market was close, so it was easy to go anywhere and very convenient for meals.
Everything was great, but the room was too small, so it was a bit difficult to organize my luggage, and it felt cramped.

This was centrally controlled and made sleeping very difficult until some relief was obtained by opening the window. However, this made the room noisy. We have stayed here a number of times because of the breakfast and public bath that is not available at many other hotels. Rooms are Japanese small. Checkin procedure is slow because no Expedia infgo is saved so you need to enter everything their app requires and slows down the checkin process. Checkout is a snap. The breakfast restaurant is good but the menu could vary more but they do have a large variety of foods available each day. Also from Narita the Keisei Skyliner is very convenient. Being near Ameyokocho offers many restaurants and shopping. The Metro and JR lines are all here too. Combuni are also nearby.

Staff attitude was pretty rude. We checked in late around 8pm coz we went to Disney land and came back. One of the male staff talked his colleague in front of us \"こんな時間にチェックインかよ\" which means how do they check in this late, are you serious? They thought we cant speak Japanese so behaved this way which unfortunately we can understand Japanese. This is absolutely terrible behaviour in hospitality area. I can imagine how they would treat their customers who dont understand Japanese.

Cozy room, perfect for a short stay. We stayed in a room for two and since we were out exploring, we could tolerate the small space at night. No central AC, but you can open the windows if you get too hot. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Remember to put your bags under the bed for more space. Breakfast was very yummy and mixed with some familiar meals for foreigners.

The one recommendation I would suggest to the property is to offer single use toilet bowl cleaners especially since they only clean every two/three days of your stay, this can help people maintain bathroom cleanliness better!

Check in was great as the staff made it an easy process and they were very friendly. Lots of hotel amenities. It took a moment to get used to a small hotel room, but, as we had everything we needed, we acclimated very quickly. Breakfast was amazing and that alone was at the top of our culinary experiences while in Japan. We will return to an APA Hotel with our future visits ahead.

I had a brief stay for one night, and it was good. Though the room was small per the typical Tokyo standards, it was clean and well-equipped. Staff at the reception were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The location is great, just 5 minutes’ walk to Ueno JR Station, it was a really good value for money.
