We had an excellent stay at Nohga Hotel Ueno.

The location is unmatched. Just a short walk from Ueno Station, which made getting around Tokyo incredibly convenient.

It was easy to hop on the JR lines or the subway, and the neighborhood itself has a lot to offer, from great restaurants and cafés to Ueno Park and several museums nearby.

Everything was perfect about this hotel. The check in process was super easy and the entire staff speaks English fluently. The elevators run efficiently and the rooms are clean and well designed. We fit three adults in one room with no issues. I loved that the toilet is separate from the shower as well.

We didn’t use the hotel’s bistro because there was so much food nearby. It’s a very short walk to Ueno Station and Ameya Yokocho is not much further.

The next time I come to Japan with my family, we will stay here.

Lovely modern hotel in good location in Ueno - near the action, but in a slightly quieter area.

We picked Ueno for a 1-night stay after returning from skiing up north, as we felt being near the train to Narita Airport would be beneficial. While this hotel is near the train station, it is on the side furthest away from the Airport line, which meant for quite a long walk while dragging a ski bag. If you are travelling lighter than us though, it is worth the walk.

Room was large by Tokyo standards and was well equipped (however only tea available, no coffee in the room). Excellent shower. Lovely smelling body wash. Very comfortable bed (decently firm).

The welcome drink from a machine was a bit strange - it might of been nicer to be served a drink downstairs in the bar/restaurant instead, but still a comfortable seating area near the welcome drink location.

Overall a brief but very pleasant stay.

I only stayed 1 night at the Nohga Hotel in Ueno and it was a very enjoyable experience.

The reception staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining the available facilities at the hotel.
Upon checking in I also received a welcome drink of choice and coupons for use at the restaurant.
The restaurant staff was very welcoming during both dinner and breakfast and the food was delicious too.

The only reason this hotel doesn't get full marks is the room, during my stay it was a cold winter morning and the window in my room was full of condensation in the morning, to the point where even the walls surrounding the window were damp.
I think this will lead to potential health issues in the future if this issue is not addressed by the hotel.

Wonderful hotel with high quality restaurant. Rooms are large and well appointed. Staff are helpful and friendly. Be sure to have breakfast and meals in the hotel restaurant. The food is creatively prepared with quality ingredients. Hotel is short walk to Ueno station so convenient to many areas in Tokyo. This is one of the nicest hotels at which I’ve stayed in Tokyo.

Lovely hotel, with wonderfully welcoming and kind staff. The room is the perfect size for two guests with a large tub and very nice shower. The hotel offers amenities such as razor, skincare, toothbrush, etc. which is helpful if you forget something or want to pack lightly. The hotel is very close to the Ueno station and 7-11 making is very convenient. Will definitely stay at Nogha Ueno again the next time we are in Tokyo. Highly recommend!

Very close to Ueno line, which gets you everywhere, and the neighborhood had 7/11, Lawson and grocery store within a block. The staff were amazing and helpful. The property was clean, beautiful, safe - we enjoyed the breakfast and the laundry service. The room was comfortable and quiet, with a nice tv and Bluetooth speaker.

Very friendly staff and the location is excellent for using the subway (with many destinations accessible by only one subway with no transfers). Very close to the market, which has tons and tons of food and shopping options, less touristy than other markets we came across. Restaurant in the hotel is nothing exciting and overall not as good as the Nohga in Kyoto.

The hotel was within easy walking distance to Ueno station. The staff were very courteous and helpful when asked. The hotel has dining facilities, but unfortunately our schedule did not allow us the opportunities to utilise.

The service from the staff was excellent. They welcomed us each time upon entering, answered queries, and helped us forward our luggage. Daily room service is available, and the room was kept clean and tidy while we were out. The hotel is well situated in a quiet part of Ueno, with Ueno Station only 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is reasonably priced, especially when considering the location and level of service.

Enjoyed a fabulous stay at the Nohga Hotel in Ueno. This is a smaller boutique type hotel that sits in a very quiet area but just 5 minutes from the Ueno Station. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, including a selection of toiletry supplies which was very helpful when one of suitcases arrived late.

There is a nice pop up bar in a comfortable lounge to relax with very reasonable prices. The coin operated laundry was also very convenient. Overall, they made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

Elegant hotel with lovely breakfasts and very helpful staff. I used the laundry machines once and they were reasonably priced and available (no cut-throat competition from other guests, as I've seen at other hotels in Japan). Nearby Ueno subway station is handy but also huge, so just remember: exit no.3 is your friend if you're staying at the Nohga!

Nohga Hotel was lovely. It was quiet & quaint. Very close to the Ueno train station (8 minute walk) & steps from the 7-11 & Lawson. The rooms are very roomy compared to Tokyo rooms. Exceptionally clean & beds were very comfortable. Beautiful restaurant downstairs but unfortunately did not eat there but it was always busy.
Highly recommended.

It was a little bit of an exploration finding the hotel using Google map. The small gym was cleaned and air-conditioned on the 2nd floor. The laundry and dryer were a little pricy compared to other hotel chain but that could be because of the area. The front desk service were excellent! The rooms were cleaned and simple for a maximum of 2 per room. The areas of improvements are as followed: 1. Welcome coins for refreshments should not only be per occupants but also per night of stay. 2. It would have been nice that the coupons/ discounts we also applicable for breakfast and not just cafe time or dinner. 3. French cuisine dinner were more eye stimulating and tailored for adults than teens or family. 4. Allow restaurant meals to be serviced to rooms. 5. Accurate billing from the restaurant - the error was caught upon check-out.

I felt really safe in this neighborhood. The hotel is well maintained but the smallest room is really small, if there are two adults in the same room it can feel crowded because the sink is in the room and the toilet is next to the bed . We had to upgrade our room and it was much better, the toilet was separated from the shower and separated from the bed area.
Also the hotel is walking distance to Ueno Station which makes you feel connected to everything. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping centers, Ueno park and many more.
I definitely would stay here again

This hotel is very well localed, 5 minutes walk from Ueno station and restaurant area. The mid size room (2 single beds) was very clean. Very calm day and night. Breakfast was good although after 7 days it gets a bit dull. The staff is super friendly and useful. Sent my luggage to Kyoto and arrived in one day. The only thing that needs to be improved in my opinion is the air conditioning that goes out during night time (unstable). But overall I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again (Ueno is a great area to stay in Tokyo!).

Nohga Hotel was a fantastic find. What the immediate neighborhood lacks in shopping and dining options, it makes up for in proximity to Ueno Station and its overall top notch accommodations.
