We had an excellent stay at MIMARU Tokyo Ueno Inaricho. We are extremely pleased with this hotel. The staff is amazing and truly goes above and beyond to help. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
The hotel is very well located, clean, and comfortable, which made it a great base for exploring Tokyo. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully organized.
We honestly don’t have anything bad to say about our experience. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

The stay was overall great, but I felt the floors were dirty carpeting. The bathrooms were clean and rooms were fine otherwise. Once, the housekeeper left one of our rooms open, when we came back we found it ajar, but luckily nothing was missing

We had great stay here, great size family room, modern, nice amenities and staff. Little further away from Ueno station but close to supermarket. The biggest thing that let us down was clogged up air purifier which blows dust particles throughout the room. Staff attended to it quickly after being advised. Maintenance of amenities could be improved here.

Very nice stay, liked the location as it’s away from most of busy Tokyo. Nearby 7 11 and food/dollar store type worked out great for breakfast stuff, treats and sovieners. The staff was so nice, friendly and helpful. We stored 10 bags on our last day before taking a private van to the airport.

This hotel was AMAZING! Staff was extremely helpful, there was a grocery store and 711 so close, and it was really convenient for access to the larger Tokyo area with Ueno and Inaricho station nearby. We stayed at two different points during our vacation and realized during our second stay that some rooms had windows that have views of outside world. It would have been nice to have that feature for our first stay since that one was much longer but still great a kitchen, bathroom, and additional tatami space!

Excellent accommodations with a phenomenal staff with excellent recommendations for exploring. The Japanese style apartment we had was impeccable and spacious for our family of 4. The location was exceptional. Safe and quiet with easy access to multiple stations and sites to visit. There is a grocery store with a Daiso above and 7 11 across the street just 4 minutes away to stock up on supplies and snacks.
The most impressive feature of this place was the staff. They were very welcoming and made it feel like a home away from home. An extra special thank you to Rina, Shu and Cici who went above and beyond to make our stay feel extra special.
Highly recommend this place and looking forward to returning!

My family and I stayed at Mimaru Ueno Inaricho for 8 nights in early July. The hotel staff member Chio was very friendly and helpful during the check-in. The baggage we sent from Nagoya was delivered and moved into our room when we arrived. We stayed in the Japanese-style room with two twin beds and two tatami, both of which are very comfortable! The room size is big and everything is clean. The property is well-maintained. The location is nice and quiet. The Inaricho station is only a few minutes away. We feel safe walking at night. There is a grocery store close by, plus you can see the Skytree from a distance on the street. There are cafes, restaurants and konbini near the hotel, which is very convenient. Hotel staff member Kanju was very kind and helpful; she helped us arrange a taxi on our checkout day to the Haneda airport. Stress free! I highly recommend this apartment hotel to everyone who will travel to Tokyo!

The floors are very thin so we could hear children running around late at night in the unit above us. The hotel agreed to keep the room empty after the guests moved out and all was good for the rest of our stay (10 nights). Compared to other apt hotels we stayed in throughout Japan, this property isn't as eco friendly in that Mimaru changes linens everyday. There's a coin operated laundry on the main floor which can get busy in the evening.

A wonderful hotel in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in MIMARU Ueno and the hotel met our needs as a family with a young child. The staff were extremely helpful and were able to answer queries very quickly. The room was lovely and very spacious. Big bonus to have laundry room in the building and lots of items for rental (for free) e.g. hair straighteners, rice cooker, iron and ironing board. Only negative for us was that we needed ear plugs (as light sleepers) due to noise from other rooms/ corridor etc in the night. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

Very nice and heart warming staffs e.g. Rina, Gina, etc. However, there are some used towels left in the room after cleaning and never filled up the liquid soap and liquid dish washer. The first day of checking in, the hotel should have prepared a futon for us on the tatami because I booked for 3 people, not letting us to do it by ourselves. Thanks.

We stayed in the Japanese-style apartment, which was a great size for our family of four. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by one major issue: you’re not allowed to open any windows or external doors, as doing so triggers the building’s alarm system. I understand this is in place for safety reasons, but it made the apartment feel quite claustrophobic and stuffy, especially over a four-day stay. It was disappointing not to be able to get any fresh air at all, and I strongly feel this restriction should be clearly communicated before booking—especially for a family-style apartment. Had we known about this in advance, we likely would have chosen a different hotel. That said, the apartment itself was otherwise comfortable, and we really enjoyed the Ueno area.

We loved the staff. They were very helpful. I also loved that there was a grocery store and a 7 eleven a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. The Inaricho subway station is 5 minutes from the hotel on the Ginza line. We were able to use that to get most places.

Not quite a Mimaru experience...

During our 14-day trip to Tokyo and Osaka, we exclusively stayed at Mimaru-affiliated accommodations. While most of our stays were excellent, our final two nights at the Mimaru in Ueno were deeply disappointing compared to our experiences at Mimaru Tokyo Station East and Mimaru Osaka Shinsaibashi.

From the moment we arrived, I had a gut feeling this location wouldn’t meet the standards of the others. The entryway and check-in area were cramped and lacked the inviting atmosphere we had come to expect from Mimaru properties. Adding to the negative first impression, there was an unpleasant smell lingering in the main hallway.

As we exited the elevator to reach our assigned room, my concerns were confirmed—the hotel seemed poorly maintained. Dust had accumulated in the corners of the hallway doors, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. Entering our room only reinforced this feeling. The dark charcoal gray carpet was visibly dusty, with white specks scattered in the corners. The bathroom vent appeared neglected, with months of buildup, and the sink had noticeable residue around the faucet.

We had booked a Japanese-style room and needed to set up the futon beds ourselves. Unfortunately, the futons were thin and poorly cleaned, with hair and dust visible on the undersides. The overall state of the room felt unclean and unwelcoming, leading to a truly unpleasant experience

Staff was friendly and location was good. The only complaint was the washer/dryer combo didn’t work. Spent a lot of time waiting for the clothes not to dry…would not recommend using their laundry.

BOOK IT!! This property is amazing for family and kids. I thought booking a luxury hotel will make our stay comfortable but this aparthotel is incredible. Everything we need for our 1 year old was available. Baby crib, baby bath, bottle
Sterilizer, baby shampoo, baby seat, you name it they have it! They also rent strollers for $15/day and it was so convenient. The front desk GINA was so lovely and hospitable and made our stay so warm and incredible. We can’t wait to come back and share with our friends to book here! 10/10

Excellent location with easy access to train and subway lines but in a quiet area so you could rest at night time. Definitely would recommend this location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mimaru. The room was large by Tokyo standards, nicely presented and comfortable. A little space off to the side was perfect for our kids to sleep in. It's close to Ueno Station, which is a major hub with a JR office and lots of dining and shopping options. It's also very close to Ueno park with museums and an excellent zoo. We would happily stay at Mimaru again.

Convenient location 5 min from inaricho station on the ginza line. Easy access to shibuya, ginza and omotesando. 1 stop away from JR ueno.

Room was spacious and comfortable.

There can be more frequent cleaning, eg once every 2-3 days (instead of 4 days).

Overall, I would stay in mimaru again when I visit Japan again :)

Extremely comfortable and well stoked for what become our routine of Conbini breakfast, during our stay in Japan. Our Japanese Apartment had a very nice kitchen counter with dish-ware and utensils and a comfortable low dining table with soft seating. The spaces are very well laid out and while the apartment is ultimately one large communicating room, the re-entrant corners and well placed screen created privacy between my wife and I and mom. Definitely recommend.

It’s also very handy to have a laundry facility at the hotel. The location is also very good and close to different train lines. Modern spacious rooms big enough to fit four adults. There were a range of electronics to rent including premium electronics like the balmuda toaster.

we stayed a total of 7 nights. There was a daily clearing of rubbish but ‘room cleans’ were only on day 3 and 7. the room cleaning seemed to only include changing of linens as the bathroom and mirrors weren’t cleaned at all. The room was pretty dusty throughout the stay.

Staff were more or less helpful, but they cannot help you book reservations to restaurants! they will refer you to use mobile phone they provide to contact someone through and online chat - which may not be responsive... so plan ahead and ask ask least 2 days in advance for bookings!

Front desk crew was more than unhelpful and clueless. They had signs for local go kart tours with details at the front desk added....no one had any clue as to the fact that they had even had that sign up. Second they advertise a free international TV box for guests...took almost 3 days to get ours since none were available...so TV was useless if you dont have an HDMI cord to run into a laptop or tablet.

Laundry room change machine was broken and past 10pm no one can get you change...so bring your shoes and head to the grocery store to make change to do your laundry...laundry driers and very weak and require 3 cycles of 100 yen to dry all clothes in them.

Over all the room and property are very nice and being a chef it was nice having a cooking surface to make food on and save a little trouble and money while being in Tokyo.

Small but perfectly formed. Everything you need including a small laundry. We checked in late and the night security man was really helpful in sorting us out. There's a small sweet lobby. It is very near the station Andy the park and lots of small convenience stores. Would definitely recommend it.

Great space and fun kitchen adventures

Great place to stay with friends or family because the space is set up to accommodate any group! The dining area turns into extra sofa beds and is really comfortable (firm but not hard) and the kitchen area was very useful. The nearby convenience stores and markets have great stuff you can prepare in your own room. For instance, we prepared a different soup, fish, and eggs every morning for breakfast 😊

This hotel was very close to JR Ueno Station so there was easy access to all of our excursions. It was about 5-6 minutes walking. It was so close we even walked to station with our suitcases and backpacks instead of taking a taxi on our way to airport. Very clean. Great service from staff!

A very good and comfortable place to stay.

In general it is a very good place, room was very good, Japanese style, children loved it. I only had an issue when leaving the room that I lost my iPods and cleaning staff did not \"find\" it.

Front desk do not speak English very well but they do their best to communicate correctly.
