For a budget hotel, it’s a great choice! Ueno is an awesome neighbourhood. The hotel is just across the street from the train station but still on a fairly quiet street with food options. The hotel is charming and the room was small but very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing hotel in a great location. The only draw back (and it’s not to bad) is the size of the hotel. There is not much room outside of the bed which takes up most of the room. With that being said I would still stay here upon my return. Staff was amazing and like I said location was a great spot for food and train station The price was great too

Amazing Time in Tokyo!
First time traveling out of the country and this hotel made everything a breeze! Centrally located near Ueno station, you have access to any and everything you could imagine. Food options are plentiful and delicious. 7/11 right around the corner and they even partner with a massage service is you need a day of relaxation. Will be back, hopefully very soon!

We were absolutely beat from a long day. Decided to chance getting a place last minute by Ueno Station and couldn’t be more pleased. Quick walk and the check in and room was excellent. Although, there was a few hours before the official check in time, the staffs have allowed me to check in early to rest. Breakfast is really delicious. Kudos to all the staffs. My stay at this hotel was very short, just an overnight stopover. However, the staff on the front desk made me feel very welcome and were very helpful. They went out of their way to ensure I had all the information I required. The hotel is in a very convenient location, five minutes walk from Ueno station and also very close to the Airport train. There are also lots of nice little bars where you can enjoy and meal and drink at very reasonable prices. I will stay here on future visits.

The staff here were very pleasant. Check-in was easy and quick. The rooms were very clean but, as is common in Tokyo, were tiny. Nice touches included kimonos for guests to wear and I have no doubt many others did exactly the sam of us and posed for photos in the corridor (the room was too small. Mattresses were comfortable, wifi was OK but not great and the room was quiet.
Ueno is a great location with plenty of restaurants, shopping and bars and I would stay at this hotel again n=but only if travelling solo.

Hotel not for tall people, fun area
If you are over 5'8\", stay away from this hotel. I hit my head on the door opening very hard. I'm 6'2\", and my head sticks above the top of the door opening by about six inches. Also, both towels in the bathroom were not clean. One with reddish material, the other with black residue. The staff was friendly and helpful. The area around Ueno is a lot of fun. If you use Google maps to find, it doesn't work well. It sends to you the wrong street by one block. I would use Street View to get your bearings, and then follow that.
