I had stayed here the year before and it was nice. This time around not really a fan of my room. Got room 401 and while next to the elevator and having an extra 2.5 feet extra space at the foot of the bed there seems to be a beam running through the right side of the room. While this wouldnt be much of a problem normally, the bathroom was located directly under the beam. This means that the ceiling in the shower was 3 inches lower. Half of the shower was under this beam. I am 6 feet tall and i couldnt fit in the shower. Additionally the room did not have windows towards Skytree so I only had view towards the parking lot in front and to make things worse, the window couldnt be opened up. Finally the bahtroom had a heavy mold/mildew smell and the showerhead was damaged so it would leak half of the water backwards.
Previously I had gotten a room on the other wing of the building and while the room was a bit smaller, the view made up for it and you could also open the window. Additionally the shower didnt have a beam running through half of it making half of it unusable.

The room is quiet and clean, and the staff is polite and helpful. It would be perfect if the hotel offered Laundry facilities within the hotel and if cleaning services could be arranged daily instead of every three days. Overall, I am happy with the services and will come again.

Compared to the other APA we stayed in in the same trip, this hotel is quite far away from the station, the hotel is a little older too. There's only 1 elevator which is a problem in the morning when we're heading out. You always have to wait for 2 or more elevators before you can get in if you're on a lower floor. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and that's the main plus. Because it's not close to an station, the restaurant selection is also limited. All in all its just ok. I'd rather stay at APA Ekimae.

Walk to Ueno station is 12 minutes and to Inaricho station is 5 minutes. The first room I was given was dusty but when I notified the front desk they inspected another room and gave me that one within 10 minutes. Staff is friendly and professional.

This hotel is situated in a quiet and safe residential neighborhood. There's a metro close by 4 min walk. The JR Ueno station is a 10 min walk with lots of dinning and shopping option in that area. Overall it's reasonably priced for the location and cleanliness.

The cassette aircon fan coil unit in the room I stayed in (1409) had black mould and had a very musty smell. The staff tried to clean it but I think it requires deeper cleaning by an aircon professional. Good thing it was early spring so I could open the window in-lieu of turning on the air-con.

I usually stay at APA hotels however for this trip during COVID, I wanted an area that was not too near traffic or crowded areas. The hotel was situated near the Main Street and Ueno station but was in an area with less people which left streets quite empty so it was also very quiet and that was perfect. It was a still close enough to some restaurants, convenient stores and shops so it was ideal for my late night snacks or evening walks.

I got the standard room for 2 people and it is very cramped, only enough floor space for two large suitcases, but there is room underneath the bed to store the luggages to free up a little space. The distance from Ueno is not as close as it seems from the map. If carrying luggage the walk could easily be over 20 minutes from the station crossing many busy roads. However, I chose this APA instead of others closer to the station as I think it would be quieter at night — and it’s true.

Hotel staff was very rude and the condition in the room was not acceptable, i found hair on my bed before using it, toilet tub was leaking, the room size is terribly small, i have booked 2 rooms, 2 adults, 1 teenager, passport copy were made by the hotel staff when check-in, however, when hotel realized, they have missed to take the passport of the 3rd person, they keep on contacting me by calling to the room, sending letter to the room, sending message to your TV screen which made me feel like i've done something not appropriate, I forgot my key in the room and requested to open the door when i need to use the toilet urgent, the lady at front desk made me waited until after she questioned about me and made me waited for her to finish her message using computer and show me the translation. There is only one lift in the hotel for the entire building which made the waiting time even longer. I personally do never come back to this hotel again, it was my Christmas holiday, despite the room charge may be lower than the other hotel in the markets but this hotel totally ruined my family holiday. Again, i did not do anything not allowed, i have booked 2 rooms for 2 adults and 1 teenager. What is wrong with this hotel. The check out at 10am is something not acceptable as well, we do not even have time to fresh up before check out after breakfast. Please review your hotel situation and most importantly, treat guest nicely, we all need to pay for our stay, not free of charge.
