This is a lovely hotel in a great location. Easy walking distance to central station and town. Its in a quiet road but with reasonable restaurants around and a great bar opposite .
There is beautiful old library lounge on the ground floor where free coffee and tea is available. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.

There was parking in a secured garage only about 50 meters from the entrance of the hotel. Rooms were nice. Ask for room 419… also, it’s not much from the outside but go to Shure for dinner. Awesome!

First of all - the entire staff is very friendly, helpful, and comfortable to be around. This hotel is in a very old historical building. I was probably in their smallest room - But it was comfortable and efficient for me as a male solo traveler. My bathroom was quite small - if my wife were traveling with me I would have gotten a bigger room with a larger bathroom. They serve a nice breakfast in the morning, including easy, do-it-yourself, waffle irons - kinda fun! They yogurt, fruit, cereal, and other things as well, plus coffee and tea. Well situated, walking distance from many shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, along with small and large grocery stores, and pharmacies nearby. It’s also walking distance from the train station - which was convenient for me, arriving and leaving by train - and gives you easy, quick train access for day trips to Copenhagen. The lobby includes a nice library sitting space that is always stocked with coffee, tea, and cookies. And it has a restaurant, sublet to others that seemed to have a nice menu - though I chose to try different restaurants near the hotel. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Everything was excellent. The man at the front desk was especially warm and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic, comfortable bed (loved that you could adjust them!), lovely library, interesting art and history. Wonderful all around. Perfect location between Malmö Central and Stortorget/Lilla Torg area. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

The Mayfair Hotel is perfectly located in close proximity to the station and shopping area however is positioned in a quiet street. We had a suite on the 3rd floor at the front of the building all good with fridge and kettle included the best shower ever infact the room was so comfortable i did not want to go out. The breakfast was amazing served in the cellar a good choice of food both hot and cold in a relaxing environment. The staff are very helpful and friendly would not hesitate to stay again. It’s a period building beautifully maintained a real joy and something different from the standard Hilton type set up - magnificent ….

The Mayfair hotel is an amazing historical landmark of Malmo. So much to explore both inside and around it. My single room is small but has everything you need. One small downside of living in an older building is that it is not very soundproof (from both the street and the corridor). But can’t be too picky when have the chance to participate in this unique experience.

The Mayfair Hotel Tunneln was a perfect choice for our visit to Malmo. We took the train from Copenhagan and the hotel was only a seven minute walk from the station. The hotel was close to all of the shopping, dining, and tourist attractions. Our room was beautiful, clean, and quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There are two restaurants on site and a bar. We did not have a chance to visit them. But the breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel is in a building with an incredible history and character. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Malmo in the future.

We loved this unique and beautiful hotel. There was so much history detailed on the walls, and we loved reading about it all. The library sitting room with water, tea and coffee was great. The eye-catching modern art paired with the historical aspects of the building architecture was wonderful. The rooms were great, very comfortable beds, and the most amazing shower heads ever! The breakfast was delicious too. It was easy to walk to Lilla Torg and the other nearby tourist spots. Wish we had more than just one day there, but so grateful for the time we had. Our room was rather small and the double bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was decent (the breakfast room is really a cool space all made of red brick arches). The hotel looked like it had potential, but seemed worn and outdated. The front desk staff was very welcoming. But there were multiple cleanliness issues with the room itself, such as the bathroom didn't look properly clean and some stains on the sheets. The breakfast was not great, although the basement is visually appealing. We stayed two nights and ended up going somewhere else for breakfast on the second morning.

Staff fantastic!! That said, this was one of the strangest hotels I've stayed in. It's steeped in history and it's clear the owner wants to pass on their knowledge and love for the hotel and it's history (dating back to 1200s) but it was a little bit much with all the notes everywhere, in every room, on every wall. It would have been enough to leave a history of the hotel booklet in the room and one in the library. There was also art everywhere in the hotel, making the impression a little messy and not so relaxing. Our room was ok, it was in the attic. The sloping ceilings made it a little trickier to get into the bed. The decor was completely mis-matched and so it didn't feel that relaxing. TV quite small but adequate. After staying in several large, corporate hotels, this was a real change. The hotel is in an old building with some very interesting history. For example, one room, where you can sit and enjoy the complimentary tea and coffee, used to be the town's library. Breakfast is served in the cellar, which used to be a bar. Two of the Beatles even visited in 1967. There also works of art from modern artists all over the place.

This is a difficult one to review. We liked the characterfulness and the atmosphere of the hotel, but we weren’t completely happy. Our first room smelled badly of cigarettes. We were moved to a tiny room with a mini shower room. So small that one of us had to get out of bed to let the other out as the bed was tight against the wall. It was also extremely hot. Breakfast was fine but very little concession made for vegetarian or vegan diets. We thought it was ok for the price but wouldn’t go back.

My grandparents stayed here in 1959. My grandmother immigrated from Hellevik, Sweden to USA at age 16, in 1916. This was her first trip back. In her notes of the trip was a pamphlet for Hotel Tunnelin and a brief description of her cousins meeting them here for conversation one evening after dinner. So glad to stay here and imagine how my grandparents viewed Malmo. I guarantee you she did not wear a backpack and walk from the train station (which is a very short walk). The breakfast buffet was the best on our 2 week stay and loved the long history of the Tunnelin and the hospitality of the staff.

Hotel was amazing, breakfast area dates back to 1300’s, so much history but everything is beautifully updated while keeping the history. Art collection throughout the hotel is amazing. Evening person Saturday and Sunday (Sorry can’t remember her name) was super helpful with ideas of things to do and places to eat. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel.

Great stopover on our way to Copenhagen. Hotel in a great location to train station and old town. Very walkable. 24-hour garage across the street was easy to use, $35. Room was comfortable, but could use a fan since there isn’t AC and the outside noise comes in the windows. Coffee and tea in the library. Would recommend.

I do not write many reviews, but I felt compelled to write about this hotel. This was my second stay at the Mayfair Hotel Tunneln in the last 6 months. The first time was great. I think many people come here for the breakfast and decor, both of which are nice. This time, however, our room was not clean. The floor had hairs and loose dirt on them. Also, the staff was not very helpful or honest after they made a mistake with our parking. They registered our car themselves for parking in their lot and wrote 1 number incorrectly. As a result, we were issued an $80 parking ticket. When we tried to resolve this with management, they said they couldn't do anything about it and claimed we input the license number - but that was not true. We were disappointed by this poor level of honesty and customer service. I would not come back to this hotel.
