Wir waren zu zweit für 5 Nächte hier. Die Unterkunft ist modern, sehr sauber und hat großzügige Zimmer. Wir hatten das Frühstück gebucht: das ist für Europäer eher untypisch, aber reichlich.
Die Lage ist gut, die Straßen drumherum ruhig und sauber und vieles ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen.

The in-room laundry was very convenient and made our stay much easier. The room itself was comfortable and a great place to rest after a long day out. The breakfast buffet was tasty and the staff were very kind and attentive. I also really appreciated the complimentary coffee in the lobby, it was surprisingly good.

Very clean and nice hotel. The room we got was very spacious for two people which included a small table and chairs. Separate dining area located next to hotel which served delicious breakfast buffet style and a main breakfast item. In the common area next to lobby, they served sake and had other treats. Nice place to relax. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Umbrellas are provided if needed at the front. They also have luggage service which was very convenient. Would stay here again. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed to the beautiful Osaka area.

We chose this hotel for 2 main reasons: 1) it’s close to one of the two main subway lines in Kyoto, and 2) it has a washing machine in the room. The location was so easy to navigate, either by bus or subway, and the washing machine was a welcome sight on day 6 of our 12-day trip to Japan. The instructions for the machine were easy to understand. The room was fairly spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The lobby is currently undergoing renovation, but we never heard any construction noise. It looks as though the guest floors have been recently renovated. The common areas and hallways on our floor were spotless, and the carpet still had the new smell. The lobby also has a wonderful coffee machine that makes specialty drinks, and they provide free sake in the afternoon/evening. We did not opt for the breakfast buffet, so I cannot speak to the food, but there is a 7-11 less than 2 minutes away, and we bought breakfast items and bottled water there each night for the following day. There is a fridge in the room. And if you are a runner, this hotel is .75mi from the Kyoto Gyoen (Imperial Park) and .85mi from the Kamo River running path. I recommend both, although the gravel in the Gyoen makes for a challenging run.

We were in Japan for 2 weeks and divided our stay in Osaka, Kyoto, & Tokyo. This hotel was my favorite because we had enough space, a tv connectable to Netflix, a drink station (including coffee & tea & SAKE!) they have 3 locations (all within walking distance from each other). It was in a quiet area but the attractions were walkable. The hotel is in close distance to bus and train as well. They offer luggage transfer but cash only! Aside from the space, the reason why this was my favorite hotel was because rhe room has a washer/dryer which is convenient for long stays. We also stayed during the winter time so we dried our coats prior to walking out.

Super convenient spot for a city stay. The subway is just a few steps from the entrance, which made getting around so easy. Having a 7-11 right around the corner was a total life-saver, too.

The area is awesome—lots of high-end shopping (like Diesel) and a ton of great restaurants to check out. Plus, there is a solid gym around the corner when you leave if you need a workout. Really loved the vibe here. Highly recommend if you want everything within walking distance!

We had a great stay at the Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo Karasuma. Staff was wonderful and rooms were very clean and roomier than the hotel we had in Tokyo. One room unfortunately had zero view out the window - the glass was even opaque. The amenities were very nice and the hotel was spotless and nicely decorated.

It’s a really small hotel, but in a great location ,close to the metro, Starbucks, convenience stores, and more.
Even though it’s small, it has everything you need for your trip. The room was perfect for me and my partner.

They offered free amenities like coffee, sodas, razors, toothbrushes, a hair comb, and more. The coffee isn’t the best, but it’s free, so no complaints!

Overall, it’s a nice, affordable place. I’d definitely stay here again if I come back to Kyoto.

The staff were very friendly and housekeeping was very good. The drink selection in the lobby was nice and the room was comfortable. I found the room felt like it was humid or high humidity probably due to me using the in room laundry. I visited my friend’s room and they did laundry as well but it did not feel humid. It was my last day so I did not bother asking the front desk to check out my room’s humidity level. Maybe my dryer was not venting properly or maybe my air purifier was not working properly. The room was still comfortable and the hotel location was good as it was in a quiet area and within walking distance to good places to eat and to the market. I would recommend this hotel to others.

My wife, our 1-year-8-month-old, and I stayed at Tokyu Stay Kyoto from October 4th to 6th. I had heard great things about this hotel, and they absolutely lived up to the reputation. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, even giving us a great ramen recommendation. We also enjoyed the sake offered in the lobby, we’re not usually sake drinkers, so it was fun to try something new and find one we really liked. We’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Kyoto. Thank you!

This was the 3rd hotel we stayed at during our 3 week trip to Japan and it did not disappoint. Having an in unit washer/dryer made it very simple to do our laundry. The area around the hotel has great places to eat and it’s walkable to Nishiki Market. The staff are really what make this hotel amazing! They were courteous from the start, but we misplaced our camera in the cab one night. The following morning they went above and beyond trying to help us find the camera, checking in with us when we returned to the hotel at the end of the day. And when we realized which cab company we used, they called the company for us and helped us call a cab to pick up the camera. We really appreciate their efforts and cannot recommend this hotel enough

Great and modern looking hotel with lots of amenities! Room was small as expected with a W/D for convenience. Daily limited housekeeping with new towels/slippers and robes. The lobby staff was helpful in getting out lugggage forwarded to our next destination. Great complimentary coffee machine with choices of coffee throughout the day and nightly 2 selections of Sake to sample to end the night!
The hotel was in a quiet and walkable neighborhood. We loved exploring the alleyways and walking to different locations in Kyoto!
I would recommend this hotel! Will look into Tokyu Stay in other locations the next time we visit Japan! One of our favorite hotels!

Unfortunately, this hotel is well overdue for a major cleaning. I was moved across three different rooms. The first room smelled strongly of a sour mildew and I saw black mold growing the crevice of the curtains. The second room had a mild smell of the mildew but only ONE outlet worked in the room and it was at the entryway. The third room was somewhat acceptable after being switched. The smell of mildew seems to be all throughout the rooms which I believe is caused from the air conditioning system. At a quick glance, I noticed black mold spurs growing and MAJOR dust clinging (I mean like dust strings like birthday streamers) to the upper walls and ceilings. Because I was solo traveling, I decided to just sit through with it and I do deeply regret staying because I found myself sneezing quite a bit which I fully believe is from the black mold exposure. I understand for the price wise you can not expect some luxurious experience but I believe at bare minimum you should be able to expect a clean room. The staff did apologize profusely and did offer complimentary breakfast as an apology. Staff was understanding and quick to make the change without hesitation (wondering how often they have to deal with this). Unfortunately because of my experience, I would not recommend this location until deep cleaning and maintenance is done to correct the facilities and rooms.

Loved our stay here, a very welcoming staff and great room. The hotel was just off a more Main Street, but felt like it was miles away. Very walkable to some of the main dining options and shopping areas in Kyoto. Very walkable to the Gion District, Pontocho, izakayas, and more. Subway line very near to see all the temples/shrines. There's also a Starbucks and 7-11 really close by if needed! Highly recommend for the more budget travelled.

Much better than the Tokyustay Ginza in facilities, where we were proor to this. Great gratis drinks of coffee, still and fizzy water and Sake. Breakfast, not included in room price and that offered by the adjoining restaurant an absolute rip off.
All in all, very good for the price.

A calm space in the center everything

We loved this Tokyu Stay out of all the Tokyu Stays we've stayed at in Japan. The reason is the large lobby with the table and free water, hot water, coffee, and tea. The large table is just a nice place to rest after a long day and there's also a bathroom in the lobby. If you've been traveling a long time, you will recognize what a plus this isn a more budget style hotel. It's right in the middle of all the shopping in Karasuma, but just off to the side so you don't feel overwhelmed by capitalism. It's also quite close to the larger shops if you wanted to walk, it would not be that far. It's also close to bus lines. as there's a main road in the front and it's also a block and half from a subway. Unlike to Tokyo, Kyoto's public transportation is more...chill...so at times it feels like there are less options. Don't get me wrong, it's still a bustling city, but it kind of. feels like a large town that's forced to be a city. Any rate, we would stay at his hotel again. The service was above and beyond as they held our bags for over 3 weeks before sending them to Tokyo to meet us at our last destination. Truly helpful and kind workers.

This was a great place to stay, especially for those relying on public transportation. The location is excellent, with easy access to buses and trains, making it very convenient to get around Kyoto. The small parking lot across the street, while available, is quite tiny and has limited hours, which can be a bit restrictive. However, Kyoto is definitely a city better suited for public transportation rather than driving, so I’ll plan differently next time.

The free coffee in the front lobby was a nice touch, and the simple décor added a cozy vibe. The availability of a microwave and laundry facilities made it ideal for a longer stay, which I really appreciated.

Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would happily stay again—just without bringing a car next time!
