The hotel had all the basics needed to be an enjoyable stay. Staff was very helpful and the evening free drink in the lounge made for a nice relaxing end to busy, activity filled days.
Location was very centralized and made it get around. Rooms were a bit cramped but the location more than made up for it.

An outstanding hotel with excellent facilities and a calm, refined atmosphere. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, and the overall standard (from the rooms to the shared spaces) is consistently high. The vinyl listening area is a particular highlight and adds a genuinely distinctive touch.

What really elevates this hotel, however, is the staff. After an accident earlier in the day that left me with a back injury and a damaged suitcase, I needed help with a situation that was both stressful and unexpected. Kotomi handled this with remarkable kindness and professionalism. She showed real empathy and went out of her way to assist as much as possible, which made a difficult moment far easier to manage.

Based on both the quality of the hotel itself and the care shown by Kotomi, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The room was very cold. The temperature could not be controlled from the room. I’m not someone who needs heat but this really was too cold to be comfortable. Oddly the rest of the hotel and even the corridors were heated.

A very lovely hotel with a nice onsen, the rooms are small but comfortable, the lounge at night is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some music and quiet conversations. The staff is friendly, extremely patient and helpful as well. It is nicely situated near several shops, restaurants (be warned the shops on the main strip and some of the off streets close at 8pm) and close to a few train lines/rails. Overall a nice stay.

We were shocked to see how small our room . Very uncomfortable to move around even 2 people plus luggages.
We used the hotel laundry , and was annoyed how long it took for dryer to dry even 7 pieces of clothes.
The lounge area for guests is not convenient place to relax and be able to bring food from outside 😳
We have never stayed at any hotel during our travel and be restricted from eating our food bought outside of the hotel .

Don't think we'll recommend this hotel to anyone.

LOVED IT!! My family said we will go back to Kyoto just to stay at this hotel again. Our bedroom had 4 beds. And a luxurious bathroom! Token for free drink for every night you stay was also amazing. Our kids did not drink anything so my husband and I drank 8 beers!

I loved the location. As soon we step out of the hotel we were in the middle of Nishiki Market and all the amazing food this place had to offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They even help me retrieve an item that I had left in Osaka. They were able to have it delivered to the hotel in one day. What was tricky about this location was finding the entrance upon arrival. The entrance is in an alley and not in the Main Street, which was confusing at first. But not a major inconvenience.

If you like to have a clean stay I do not recommend this hotel. Upon entering the room, I noticed there were stains on every wall, extremely heavy dust accumulation on the bathroom vents, and the shower had yellow stains on the floor. I even had to wipe down the table because there was left over stains. Despite the unhygienic nature of the rooms, the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. Upon alerting and showing the staff, the room, they relocated me to another room and apologized profusely.

The property was great. One recommendation i have for safety is to put nonslip matts in the bathtub. You have to be really careful getting out so as not to slip since the tub is super slippery. Other than that everything was great. The location so good since the shops, good and stores were all next to us.

Great location and very nice room. The self serve bar was nice in that it allows maximum freedom.

My only complaint is that it took a while to realize that you press L to go up to reception. No other elevator buttons will work and you enter from a side street and down a level from reception.

Great location - right off of a busy street but still very quiet. We loved how close it was to Nishiki Market and Gion area. The rooms are very, very small, but typical for being in Japan. We had the Wellness Breakfast Buffet and it was great! Lots of good choices for breakfast - Western and Japanese. We were traveling with 2 older parents and it wasn’t really conveniently located for getting to train stations unfortunately. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the ambience.

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Kyoto. Spacious rooms, clean, great water pressure, great AC.

The only negative is a lot of loud local vehicles actively trying to be as loud as possible. Not much the hotel can do about that, though. It’s not constant, but frequent enough that it’s bothersome.

The Best Spa Hotel

We enjoyed our stay. This is our second trip to Japan and our second time staying here. It is in the heart of Kyoto. Down the street was Nishiki Market and Gion District. The Spa shower and bidet toilet was so amazing that I didn’t want to leave. They give you free amenities, beer, and wine. Love this hotel.

Only thing is wish they had a closet space. Our hotel in Tokyo had that even though the room was smaller than this. This is something that many hotels in Japan do not seem to have.

The hotel was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful.y only complaint was that my room was located on the same floor as the smoking room and the smell occasionally made its way down the hall. It wasn't something worth complaining about or moving rooms, but I would suggest that sensitive guests specifically request a different floor to avoid issues.

Beautiful room. Amazing amenities.
Provides tokens for free drinks for alcohol dispensers per night you stay. There’s a vinyl listening bar which was a very cool touch.

The onsen facilities were top tier. Ladies get a code to enter via passlock. There’s lockers with keys that you can wear on a wristband they provide.

Also provides luggage locks and lockers to store your thinks pre check in and after check out if you want to explore on those days!
