The hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. The room felt a bit older compared to the lobby, and the step to the bathroom was pretty high, making going in and out of it a bit more cumbersome.

The public bath was very clean, and easy to access. Although night time tends to get really busy, it is better to go in the morning when there are less people (unless you like the crowd).

Also, the rooms are accessed via a code rather than keycard which was great as you just had to remember you code and not carry the keycard everywhere.

Customer service was excellent! The staff all spoke English and were very nice and extremely helpful. Rooms were small and very difficult to live in with 2 suitcases, but overall fairly pleasant place. You have to get the subway to get anywhere. There is a 7/11 right outside.

Everything was perfect. People at the front deck and service staff were very friendly and helpful. I was very impressed by the good manners of the staff and the dedication to their jobs. (That's why I like travelling in Japan!)
The room was extremely clean and quiet, and the room standard was at a high level. The hot spring Japanese bath was a real highlight for me

Amazing place for the right price.

I had a wonderful time at this hotel. I don't speak an ounce of Japanese, but the hotel staff was very accommodating and did amazing trying to communicate and convey everything to me. The hotel staff even suggested good places to eat and even helped me to get to the bus and train. The best time I'm in Osaka, I will absolutely be staying here again! Also, universal studios is a beautiful 10 min walk to the train and only 3 Tain stops away.

The hotel was a bit far from Osaka station. Their beds were hard and uncomfortable. You would think that after a hot bath in the natural springs you would have a good night sleep. Wrong. the bed was hard that I woke up with muscle pain all over my body. the bed was also too low. We even had to upgrade to a bit bigger room but there was not much difference. Not even a meter difference.The room was small no room for your luggage when you want to open it. The only good thing about it is the hot springs. It was private and separate gender. They provide body soap, shampoo and conditioner. If they improve the bedding system they would get great reviews. This is their downside. The bedding need to be updated.

Another amazing stay! The rooms are small but for the price, I think it is reasonable. Main attraction for me is the clean onsen and the friendly customer service. The front desk are always willing to help. We were able to store our bags before check in and after check out. On the day of our departure, it was raining heavily. One of the staff lend is 4 umbrellas even though it was before their office hours and trust us to return the umbrellas after checking out- we did. That is really much appreciated. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience onsen in a clean environment.

Tiny uncomfortable room but onsen good

Tried to book a twin room as was traveling with my daughter but not available so booked room with one bed described for 2 people. Bed smaller than a double, bathroom tiny and smelt awful. No room to put bags or move inside this room. Uncomfortable bed and pillows that felt like they were made of small balls. Breakfast was a good inclusion and value for money with a western option which was appreciated after a few weeks of Japanese breakfasts. Onsen was good and would be the only real positive for this hotel. Location was not great for tourists as more suited for business traveler as this seemed to be the area it was located in.

Nice hotel, clean and good location

We really enjoyed this hotel in Osaka in April 2016. Room was clean although very small but had all the necessary, and after all when travelling we dont spend much time at the hotel. The double bed is not double as we intend in Europe (was 120cm wide!) But me and my boyfriend managed to have a good sleep for 4 nights, and we are not slim or short! The hotel provided us with complimentary organic creams and toiletries, sleepers, Japanese pijamas/robe, coffee/teas (until 9.30am) and entrance to the hotel natural offspring spa (onsen)...absolutely amazing especially considering the price we paid! They also lend you umbrellas when it's raining; let you chose your pillow (go early in the morning before they are all gone); staff are lovely and many speak English (some better than others).
The awaza tube station is 5-8 minutes walk and has 2 lines which easily bring to the main points of the city and to the station. We didn't try any of the nearby restaurants but Dotombori with its extremely wide range is just a few stations away (tube station Namba, exit 14).
So we highly recommend this hotel!
Ps. Should you wish to use the spa, remember that onsen spa in Japan are separated male and female, not accessible to people with tatoos and you need to bath naked (which can be a bit of a shock initially!).

This is a great hotel in a quiet residential area. Follow the directions given in the previous reviews, when you come out of the station turn right and you will see a sign above the petrol station that shows you who to get there. Would stay here again if in Osaka. Be ready to chose from the baffling array of pillows when you check in....

Fantastic budget city hotel with great onset!

Very good service and staff. Spoke English and very helpful when asked for assistance. Room was small as expected for this type of hotel in Japan, but great base for exploring the city. We unpacked what we needed for our short stay and stored suitcases in cubby hole. No problem. Onsen was very nice and included in the price, as was the filling and varied breakfast. Small supermarket right next door and 7 min walk to nearest underground station.

Nice staff with hot spring in city hotel

It is a good location hotel and got a hot spring spa at B/F. Overall, it is very busy and lots of young travellers around. Late checkout costs 2000 yen extra. The breakfast costs 750 yen which all you can eat JP style vegetables. Interesting you have two pairs of sleepers to use within hotel. Staff are nice and helpful. The parking is very full around and better to check in earlier. Room is ok clean and small which is normal. You have to use password to open door and no key is required. That's good so that you don't have to carry the key or forget the key in Spa. The spa (male) is ok comfortable and not very huge but enough to relax. Open until 2am and start from 5:30am.

The hotel is about 4 mins walk to the Awaza subway station. It is not easy to locate the hotel at night, especially when you are there the first time. At Awaza station, come out from exit 9 (with long stairs) to the street level & turn right. You will be able to see a hotel banner though it may not be very visible at night. Walk straight for about 3 min & turn right & you will see the hotel. If you are carrying heavy luggage, you may come out from exit 3 with escalator but it is a longer walk way, about 10 min to the hotel. Awaza is 3 stations away from Namba station where you will find the main shopping streets such as Dotombori & Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade. JR Noda Station is about 15 min walk from the hotel.

There are eateries around the hotel. \"7-11\" is next to the hotel and \"Family Mart\" is about 1 min from the hotel.

All rooms are accessible to free WIFI but there is no telephone. The room is small, standard Japanese size, clean & comfortable. It is advisable not to bring large luggage like 28 inch as it may poise space constraint issue. The bed is comfortable with 3 choices of pillow for selection. The onsen (hot spring), though is small but it is clean & cozy. The laundry is at the 8th floor. It includes detergent for 100 yen per wash.

The front desk staff, generally can speak English & are friendly. One of the staff is especially helpful, knowledgeable and friendly that left me with a great impression of the hotel!

It's accessible via subway or bus. There are a lot of small restaurants around the area. There's even a grocery store nearby. The staff don't speak English that much, but they can still help you and accommodate your needs. We got the semi-double room. If you're there to see the sights and experience Japan, you won't be staying much in your room, so you won't notice how small it is. For me and my boyfriend, the space was enough. The facilities were really good. The hot spring was awesome. Girls get a loot bag of free oils, face mask, etc. You have access to multiple vending machines, washing machines, ice machine, and microwave. We didn't try the buffet because there are convenience stores nearby and lots of small restaurants to try. Overall, given the price, it was really good.

This hotel is in a convenient location, about 5-7 min walk from Awaza subway station (on Chuo and Sennichimae lines) and about 8 min walk from Nakanoshima station (on Keihan Nakanoshima line which goes across Osaka but also to Kyoto). The onsen is very nice and has fantastic hours (opened 5am-9am then 10am to 2am!), the room and hotel itself are nice and clean, the A/C works well, the staff is nice and helpful, and quite fluent in English. The room is small by North American standards, but is standard size for most hotels in Japan (except expensive 5-star hotels). The internet (wifi and wired) speed and connection quality was amazing! There are quite a few nice restaurants around with a variety of foods (yakitori, yakiniku, teppanyaki, indian, and euro-style food). There is a 7/11 two doors down and you're a 5 min walk from a well-stocked and very handy Life Utsubo grocery store. If you like walking, you can actually reach Osaka train station/Umeda subway station (downtown core) in just 30 min, which we did several times to see the city a bit more. It's a very nice and pleasant walk when it's not 38 deg Celcius outside ;) If I visit Osaka again, this hotel will definitely be my first choice.

Two night stay in late June.

From the moment you enter the staff are eager to help and bow a lot. The room was clean and practical, with good wifi signal. I did not eat at the hotel but the restaurant seemed popular. The hotel is easy to reach by public transport being a five minute walk from Awaza station. There are vending machines on several floors. The surrounding area looks industrial and my room had no view to speak of but there was no noise to disturb me whilst the window was closed. The room could not be described as spacious but it is functional and has a good shower.

Before I came I kept reading comments mentioning pillows. The pillow provided in the room is full of soft plastic beads which means it is quite solid and mouldable. In the lobby, directly in front of the reception desk there is a pigeon hole system full of pillows which you help yourself to, there is a grading system given for how firm the pillows are but it seems the simplest way is just to squeeze the pillow. This pillow then goes on top of the one provided.

When using the hot spring bath just wear your underwear and the gown they provide in your room and take the token they provide in the room. Walk down to the basement level (there is also a lift for wheelchair access) and the receptionist will take your token and give you a numbered key for the locker. Go through the gender appropriate door, find your locker, remove all clothing, stow items in locker, shower before entering the bath.

I had a conference in the Nakanoshima area. It was just ten minute walk from the hotel. The room and bathroom are relatively small, but the room is quite clearn and comfortable. The cleaning service is also good. Also, the spring spa is free. The staff memebrs were exteremly kind. I think you should try the homemade style breakfast.

not near the subway station (5 min walk to Awaza station and long stairs) . but you can take a bus route no.88 directly form osaka station south exit to here for 15min bus travel with <1min walk. Few up and down stairs is great for carrying lots of luggage. A free Spa is good for tired body. The only bad point is not in the city central. It takes 3 stations to namba. Overall is good and recommended.

The hotel is right next to a 7-11 convenience store so if you needed anything, it was very convenient to walk over and get what you need. The onsen was a very good experience (was my first one) and the facility was very clean. There were lots of restaurants around that seemed nice and friendly but didn't have a chance to try them.

Extremely small rooms and unsatisfying breakfast

We wanted to stay at an onsen hotel so we have chosen this one and were hugely disappointed with a very small room, literally a bed, desk, fridge, bathroom and not much floor space at all.
It was impossible to open a suitcase (we had to do it on the bed) let alone store them (we had 2 big ones and 2 small ones with us and put them in the bathtub and on a loft bed).

Breakfast was more or less the same every day (spaghetti salad one day, macaroni salad next day), not much choice at all. Other hotels same class offer much better choices.

Location was good - 5 minutes walk to Awaza subway station and 15 minutes bus ride to Umeda using a one day pass for subway and buses called enjoy eco card (800yen or 600 yen on sat/sun), it was convenient to travel shopping/restaurants districts and sightseeing spots/museums all over the city.

The staff were very helpful but the reception is not manned between 2am - 2pm.
There is no room key - you are given a 6 digit code, which we found very useful once you memorize it.

One positive point was onsen spa. It was free and lovely. We spent one night away from the hotel and found how dry our skin got while we were away.

The ratings for this hotel are higher than others and justifiably so! The staff is courteous, and you receive a welcome package upon arrival. The room is small (as is the case for many Japanese hotels) so don’t expect anything spacious. Everything is compact and efficient. The best part about staying here was the onsen. What a relaxing bathing experience!

If you haven’t had the Japanese onsen experience, definitely give it a try here. Be sure to read all the rules and instructions (don’t wear slippers into bath area, be sure to rinse off completely before entering bath, etiquette, etc…). Afterwards, you will feel extremely relaxed.

The breakfast buffet is good as well. There are plenty of local restaurants around the corner, frequented by local / businessmen, which I often take as a good sign (vs. overly touristic neighborhoods). You’re just 3-4 stops from Osaka Castle as well.

Highly recommend it and would stay here again!

Right in the Middle of Umeda and Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi area. One station away from Namba. Breakfast well enough to start your day. From Awaza Station, look for Exit 9. You'll see a big board for directions how to reach it. Just funny how theyre promoting Ecology when they give out tons of paper when checking in. FAcial masks and lotions are a welcome threat though. Will stay here again.

Tiny room, packed with amenities =-)

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! We're used to small spaces in Japan, so we were not at all bothered by the small size of the room -- we spent most of our time out, but took advantage of the hot springs and public baths each night... the PERFECT way to relax at the end of a day! We also loved the hotel restaurant and had breakfast there each morning and loved how well the offerings naturally accommodated our dietary restrictions. The hotel staff were so incredibly friendly. We also loved the proximity to public transit as it gave us the best of both worlds -- easy access to fun places when we wanted action (ie Americamura), but a quiet sense of what it is really like to live in Osaka otherwise. We'd both LOVE to return to Osaka and will make this hotel our first choice =-)

I stayed 4 nights in super room (one double bed and roftbed) on 6th floor (non-smoking), it's a nice hotel with clean & comfortable room, and excellent hot spring on B1 floor. Although the room and toilet are small, there are excellent supplies, e.g. microwave, fridge, electric kettle, clothes hangers, humidifier in the room. The staff is nice and always with smile. There are many Izakaya near the hotel, 7-Eleven is just downstairs. It takes around 8 minutes walk from exit 3 (with elevator) and 5 minutes walk from exit 9 of metro station. We took taxi from hotel to Universal Studio, it was 2020 yen.

Stay for the hot springs

The hot springs were wonderful - we enjoyed them at least once a day. The staff was very friendly and were able to help with anything we needed - many of them spoke very good English. The rooms are very small and it was pretty loud during the day but the neighborhood was very nice - lots of good restaurants and places to visit. It was a bit of a walk from the main JR station but close to the Osaka subways. We stayed in 3 budget hotels during our 2 week stay in Japan and this was by far the best overall hotel.

The hotel is a bit far from Awaza station if you have heavy bags like we did. Try using exit 9 from Awaza station because its the closest to the hotel. There are several good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I personally didnt use the hot springs but one of the people in our group did and said they were amazing. The hotel restaurant does a good breakfast, but closes promptly at 9am. I would definitely stay there again.

Small rooms, odour from bathroom - do not stay

The hotel rooms were incredibly cramped. There is no air conditioning and when you open the window it's too noisy to sleep. We were that unsatisified we changed rooms and both bathrooms had the same egg/sulphur like odour. Poor hotel not worthy of its high rating.

Don't worry about the old looks, it;s better than any APA!

The age of the decor in the room worried me a bit initially but they had already impressed me at reception and I loved the free selection of pillows! Room small as always but onsen were the best I encountered even at hotels triple the price. I needed a laptop to check if the fault on my camera had lost all my pictures thus far and they let me borrow one for just 10mins to get the photos off safely. The day we left there was a note from reception hoping that I was able to get my camera fixed and take more pictures :) how sweet is that? Gotta love japan!

Good location for public transport.

The room is just large enough and comfortable for one person but a squeeze for a couple. There were some perks for being eco-friendly, which were appreciated. Onsen could be spruced up but all the same, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Breakfast and supper were good.

Excellent hot spring spa .... love it. Although room is a little small, it is clean and ok to move around with luggages. Staff are friendly and speak reasonably English to help. Bus 88 on opposite hotel brings you to Umeda yen200 each person one way. Breakfast in hotel is ok but would recommend for short stay guests only. Two convenient stores nearby which is good. Taxi to universal studio about yen2000 ... must go early like an hour prior to opening hours and highly recommend to buy the express pass. Overall happy and will return to this hotel when next in Osaka.

Remarkable place!

Would strongly encourage any one to spend a night or two in this amazing Super Hotel. Check in is sharp at 3 pm, but luggage can be stored for you safely. Greeted with several treat bags, including soaps and sponges and creams for the ladies. The natural spa is amazing. The springs are HOT. Smell a bit like sulfur, but our hair and skin looked amazing the next morning. Shower before entering the spa, but don't wash off afterwards. You want to keep that good stuff on you.

The staff was super helpful and friendly. Knew limited English, but was sufficient. The hot springs was great, worth checking out. In the morning, the vending machine provides free drinks. Even though the website says no Wifi, we were able to access Wifi from our rooms and did not rely on the wired Internet. Walking distance to Awaza Station (Subway), about 15 minutes to Noda Station (JR).

Direction given is confusing

The direction given to the hotel is incorrect. There are 2 seven eleven near the hotel and we got lost the first time. However, there is a Japanese man who is kind enough to show us the way to the hotel. A location map should be indicated in the hotel website for the travellers convenience. Should indicate instruction : Exit 9, turn right and look for seven eleven. The hotel is next to seven eleven. Other than that the hotel room is very clean, reasonably priced and we enjoy the onsen very much

Super Hotel Hot Springs (Different Name :D)

This hotel is slightly far from the Naganoshima station where i got off, but can be accesses by citybus at the nearest stop.

The Room is decently equipped but not too large with little area to move about.

The best part here is the hot spring bath which can be used for free, cool milk or coffee milk etc is sold right out of the onsen, and there are massage chairs, steam bath etc available.

The staff again is very polite and helpful, but not too fluent in English.

Its interesting how you can choose different kinds of pillows from the front.

There is a convenience store just around the corner and its convenient to get food etc.

Overall, adding the huge plus point of the Onsen this hotel is worth staying for a couple of days.

An a great hotel, with easy to get + free onsen

This hotel is a great one, with a 7-11, two doors across, nearly 24 hour free onsen hot spring bath, great rooms with everything you need for the price, and its a 5 min walk to AWAZA station. Which is rad, because it's on the pink Line, that takes you directly to Dontonbori area, which has amazing food and shops. (Known for it's famous ramen and crab!) To get to the hotel though is not easy to someone unaware, the only reason I knew was because I read a comment here from some random lady. It was spot on though. The hotel itself has no english on the front, but its still an awesome place regardless. Here are the details for anyone, if you plan to stay here. I'm assuming you took the bullet train to shin-osaka. Then train down the red line (M13 to M18), then left on the green line (C16 to C15). Remember Homachi station is all connected. So just do a walk to the green line underground. Once u end up at AWAZA station (C15)... Go to EXIT 9. Turn right as soon as you go up the stairs onto street level. You'll see a crossing and a Gas station on the right hand side. Walk all the straight along that path way for about 8 mins ish. You'll see a massive yellow sign in the middle of a concrete building. More importantly, you'll walk past many cafes, and then end up at a 7-11 on a corner. Turn right on this corner, then you'll notice some automatic doors and water fountains on each side of the entrance. (You'll also notice some japanese signs of hot springs, and so on). thats it.

Onsen Spa at Super Hotel Osaka

It was a fabulous hotel and close to Awaza subway station. There are 2 onsen spa facility and it is rotated between male and female use each morning, the spa itself was really good. The staff knew english and there was free wifi in the lobby area, only wired LAN connect in the room. The room is really small for 2 people, the bed was also really small. Its about 5 minutes walk from the subway station and we had a JR pass which could not be used on the subway network, had to buy pass to JR interchange station however it was only 160 yen each way. This hotel is conveniently located near all shopping districts and sight seeing areas. I would recommend it for everyone.

Great Discovery!

Upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome and checking in process was fast and efficient. Most staff speaks English, helpful and friendly.
There is no need to check out on departure. Just leave the hotel.
Location is good. Not far from Awaza underground station. Nearby not much shops except restaurants and Family Mart.
Onsen (hot spring) located at the B! is free for room guest to use. Breakfast is included FOC. Good varieties of food and they are delicious.
We enjoyed out stay there. Will definitely stay there again if ever go back to Osaka. They also have presence in Kyoto and Kobe.
Good value for money paid!

Weekend getaway trip to Osaka
Hotel room is standard Japanese business hotel size. Not too many convenience stores and restaurants nearby as it is in the residental area. The subway station is about 5 min walk and in order to go downtown, one has to travel 3 stations.

I was satisfied with my stay at the hotel. They were able to store my luggage as I landed early in the morning before check-in time. Room was clean. They have a beauty pack to all lady which is very thoughtful. Inside was a face mask, body scrub and shampoo/conditioner. For pillows, there is a selection from soft to hard next to the reception for your comfort. The spa is alright, normal small size bath for Japan but I m sure that there are more impressive ones further away from Osaka. Breakfast was a buffet spread and very filling.Directions to hotel: take exit 9 at awaza station from the pink sennichimae line, take right and walk past the gas station. The hotel is this big grey building with a yellow banner at the too. Walk right past the parking garage and turn right.

Great hotel and very affordable

The hotel itself is very comfortable and the reception area has that \"spa\" atmosphere. We had free wi-fi which was very convenient, and enough kitchen facilities to get by without having to eat out for every meal. Unfortunately the hotel actually operates as \"Super Hotel City Osaka\" and not \"Natural Hot Springs Spa Hotel Hananoi Osaka\" so we had some difficulty finding the place initially. There were no English signs visible from the street which was surprising given they have an English version of their website. Travelling with a JR rail pass will be a little frustrating as the closest JR station is a little walk away.

Great place to end the day!

This is a very unique hotel in the sense that it is typically catered to the local businessmen, but the facilities are generally more impressive that your usual business hotel. On top of the normal double rooms,. their twin room is known as the super room, where through some ingenius design, they manage to stack a single bed on top of a double bed. on top of that, they have a microwave oven in the room! this makes it absolutely convenient to buy your dinner from the 7-11 downstairs and heat it up for supper later.

Their tap water and bath water in the entire hotel uses a special kind of ion water that is not only good for drinking, it's supposedly good for your skin too.

As for amenities, they have a trouser flattener on every floor (i didn't try it though..) and vending machines on about 3 different floors. they also have a good selection of pillows that you can pick and choose yourself at the lobby, on top of the standard pillows available in the rooms.

their onsen is not very big, but definitely cosy enough for a great way to end the day! i found myself going there to shower every night, cos the place is very nice and warm, so much better than bathing in the hotel room.

all in all, a great place to park yourself for a shopping holiday in Osaka!

Cheap, cheerful and reasonable.

The staff were helpful and spoke good English. The room was small but had good amenities. No wifi or Internet in room, but free \"IT corner\" in lobby where you can browse the Internet and print things like tickets and bookings. Remember also to check in early to get choice of pillows.

Cheap, but still useful. Bathroom is very small on a raised floor. Taller people may have trouble getting in.

Hot spring Onsen was a nice touch. To use the baths, you change in your room into provided robes, and take the tag from your room down to the basement. Give your tag to the staff at the basement and they will let you use the baths.

A bit out of the way but onsen fantastic

Clean room although small. Only few rooms have wifi access. Others are wired. Very much a business hotel. Busy. Onsen definitely worth a try!
