I was very happy with the balcony. The cleanliness overall.

The staff are all very sad looking and this made it hard to approach them.. When I asked them why they are so sad id often get told they are tired and have worked more than 12 hours. Barely any smiles. They are exhausted

Yet another amazing stay in Nabq, SSH.

An amazing stay at a fabulous hotel.
The hotel is situated in the prime Nabq area of Sharm el Sheikh.
We had a deluxe pool view room, and from our ground floor terrace, it was no more than 10 steps to our sun loungers. Sami, the towel guy is amazing! He makes towel pillows for guests and enjoys a chat. He’s one in a million and will look after you well. We were up early each morning, we’d put our own towels out (before he’d even started work), and by the time we came back from breakfast, he’d worked his magic for an extra comfortable relaxing time in the sun. Milad on the bar was another fantastic worker. We tipped him a couple of dollars in the first couple of days, and he brought drinks over throughout the day. He would even bring me my Coke Zero if I went and sat on our terrace!
Directly outside of the hotel gates there’s a metro supermarket where you can buy anything and everything at a fraction of the price of the hotel shops.
Directly across the road was La Strada, with a whole host of shops and restaurants if you fancy a change of food.
We visited Arab Bucks on our final night and paid £18 for a pizza to share as a starter, two main courses, one being the mixed grill, along with two glasses of red wine and a Coke Zero.
With the exchange rate being 65LE to the £1, you can get a lot for your money.
If you want to buy alcohol for your room, there is a Duty Free shop at La Strada. However you can only buy from there within the first 48 hours of arriving in SSH.

They did not found our reservation, we requested early check in around noon, they made this a reason to ask for tips somehow I felt, we got the room afterwards with dirty old sheets and no hot water, food is bad and old but breakfast is not bad

If you want quiet time with grown children and not screaming kids, this is ideal.
Breakfast and dinner are excellent however lunch was hit and miss.
Overall it was full but wasn’t crowded and the beach always had enough beds

WORST HOTEL IV STAYED AT

One of the worst experience, no room service everytime i ring and say hello they disconnect dont even bother to call back never cleaned our rooms 2 days in a row theynshould change the name to aurora russian hotel they love the russians they litrally run all over the place for them i thouhht its a muslim country run by muslim people but no the hotel staff moody keep everytime they think id left my wife alone they knock on my room door for nothing they knocked mt room door on Thursday snd friday altogether 14 times but when i said about cleaning they said yes yes thats it food is terrible dont even know where to start its like your staying in a room away from thr hotel they dont dpeak to you dont say anything have angry faces you ask them questions they give you replies you wanna slap them they are so lucky i was with my wife all im saying if your muslim dont go here this is aurora russian hotel and the service i got and i have proof its appalling this is a 3 star hotel nothing more no animations no heated pool no room service no cleaning of the rooms when i wanted to leave they begged and said sorry etc but im sorry this was not worth my stay at all the only nice people was the security that it i wish hotel gave me a refund i woildve moved hotels they love russians if your speaking to them and a russian walks in they make you aait and run to them like its gold WORST HOTEL EVER BIG LIARS

Nice autumn break during half term.

We had an excellent stay at a decent price too. Metro supermarket was ever so handy just outside as is the atm and phone stores for voda & orange (opposite) & etisalat (next to Metro) had only one complaint which was immediately raised with hotel management and that related to taxi fares being hyper inflated however the hotel manager immediately offered complimentary transport to the airport as a genuine apology so that was resolved too. We enjoyed halal mcDonalds as well not far either. Weather was up to 30degrees so just lovely. Son enjoyed seeing all the fish, crabs & starfish. Would recommend you bring your snorkel gear as perfect opportunity here.

Avoid this hotel, it is a tourist trap!!!

This is literally one of the worst place We have stayed in terms of customer care.

Main issue, is that personal just don’t care about customer. For example:
A) they don’t answer the reception phone. When we got there and asked them why, employee literally told us “no one answers it”. B) air conditioning in room not working (talking about 35 degrees), despite raising the problem nothing done. C) SPA not available in renovation, GYM not available in renovation… at least there was a pool.

The hotel was disappointing and not what I expected. The lobby and main buffet area is hot as the air conditioning wasn't on. The buffet didn't have too much food and not enough of a variety. The room had mosquitoes so they had to spray the room. The beach area was nice, although the water was very low and isn't for going into. You have to go far out on this dock to go into the water to swim. The pool was very crowded but there is another pool on the other side which was low-key and nice to swim in. We ended up staying only two nights instead of four nights and they were nice enough to issue credit back for the two nights we didn't stay.

Our stay at Aurora resorts was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff and animation team were extremely kind and helpful! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The food was overall good, but there were not too many options. Most dishes were delicious, others were okay. Many compliments for the great service and the the humble and welcoming team. I surely recommend staying at this hotel.

Superb staff and great for divers.

Although a little dated the hotel is in good condition. What is not dated is the excellent service you receive. The staff are wonderful and so welcoming. They can’t do enough for you. We have been back a number of times mainly for the excellent Dive Centre Aqua Nabq but also because of the friendliness of the staff. The buffet style meals are varied and plentiful. As a true beach front hotel in a quieter area of Sharm you can’t go wrong here. The gardens are so well maintained and attract numerous birds too.

Room service is terrible. Had to ask several times for water which hotel is supposed to provide regularly without any request. Didn't provide daily room toiletries like shower gel, shampoo etc unless asked for. Apart those, hotel is very good to stay, food quality is excellent and its location is awesome.

The main problem with the hotel I believe is their security manager, old army guy who believes that the hotel is his army camp so he is treating all customers as soldiers, a wrong hire and shouldn’t stay more there. Unless you were a soldier before believe you will not accepet the stay

I stayed in this hotel for few days and generally had very pleasant experience. Though have to say that hotel looked quite old and required some good renovations. What I liked is big size of the room, big green territory, few swimming pools which were clean and very nice, lovely beach, also clean.

I really liked the animation team. Though I was not much involved in their activities, but I could see how they work and they did their best to entertain guests. Good job! And special thanks from me to receptionist Mahmoud (I hope I remember the name correctly!) who checked me in upon arrival. He was very polite, friendly and helpful. And generally people in hotel were friendly and helpful.

During my stay I visited SPA in the hotel. Nice massage! They have quite big selection of treatments and good facilities. I do recommend to visit them.

At the beach there is water sport centre, I had lesson of windserfing and instructior was good. They do offer few different kinds of water activities for different levels of people strating from absolute beginners like me and for those who already have experience and want just to rent the equipement.

Also I would like to mention good location of the hotel, just next to it there is supermarket, in front of it there is road with public transportation if necessary, and officies of two mobile companies for those, who want to get local sim card.

So my overall impression and experience from stay in Aurora Oriental is very positive and good.

Nice little week away...

Had a nice week away at the Aurora! We were upgraded on arrival which was very kind,the room was lovely and housekeeping looked after us nicely to. The restaurant manager and his team went out of their way to make us welcome everyday as well, the food was a little basic but always something there you could find but not a wow factor. All in all a great little week but not a lot going off in the evening,but there are a few bars in walking distance from the hotel. There was an animation team but they never even spoke to us the worst I've found in any hotel arrogant and rude so if there was entertainment unless you are Italian they will not interact with you which is sad.

We stayed 4 nights and it was great! The 3 pools were very clean with ample sunbeds.
The food gave plenty of choice and the breads, soups, salads and desserts were lovely - the mains were a bit less so!
The hotel and facilities were very good and the staff were friendly and helpful without exemption.
Would readily stay again!

If you're coming here with family\ friends and you didn't book the same hotel-IT'S NOT ALLOWED FOR THEM TO GO FURTHER THAN RECEPTION!To our surprise it is same way in all hotels in Egypt!When we asked the manager why and please show us the paper where it says so,the answer was:"because" and "the paper is not allowed to the public".We paid for the room with Sea view,but to see it you had really band over the balcony and to see a tiny line.We had to extend our stay for 1 night,took the whole evening and morning to get it.The 2nd room we got was a Garden view (didn't matter,we just needed the room),but I'm trying to say-It's NOT a 5 star hotel!Garden view room fits for 3 star hotel.Sea view -4 stars.When we booked hotel-it was said that it has free wifi,but you have to pay for it $5 per hour.Nothing free not even in common areas.If you want to go to different hotel-you have to leave your passport at the gate,same for your guests if you want to bring them over. Well-IT'S ILLEGAL to ask you to leave your passport. It has to stay with you 24\7!No matter what!Copies is the only way out!It took us almost a week of constant fighting with security and the reception.At the end manager said ok to the copies.But all week-if you don't leave the passport-they won't let you\ your guests in+security watches you all the time.I understand the situation in country and that it all for our protection,BUT we're paying and bring money. A bit more respect and care!Skip all that ridiculous situations!

Very good & close to amenities, Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Friday, McD's, Burger King plus lots of other shops right next to the hotel. Private beach lovely food, Nama Bay is 20 minutes away 30-40 Egyptian pounds no more then that.

Having stayed at the Hilton in sharks bay, the royal albatross (3times), cleopatra, Laguna vista and the Jaz Mirabel, I also own a property in Nabq, I feel that I have a good idea of Sharm & what to expect, sadly the Oriental has passed it's sell by date, the building itself is tired & in need of a refurb, the food lacks any quality, and is under catered for the amount of guests it houses, only one restaurant for dinner (apart from the small "Italian") that must be booked one day in advance & you can only visit it once per stay!! Compared to let's say the albatross hotel the beach bar is an embarrassment, substandard food & drink (we all know that spirits & wine in Sharm are not the best but you can't even get them at the beach bar,) in every way.

La gente che scrive abbiamo mangiato bene probabilmente non sa neanche che sognifica mangiare bene.complessivamente rispetto agli altri resort similari pochi servizi,cibo scadente ,animazione praticamente assente,iniziative nessuna.il resort affianco al nostro ogni sera faceva una festa diversa nel nostro neanche il giorno della befana…mai….0!!

La struttura è molto bella e curata, la pulizia al top. La spiaggia è ampia e attrezzata ma manca un po' di pulizia. Le acque sono poco profonde bene per le famiglie con bimbi, non per chi vuole nuotare. C'è un pontile, ma con una piccola zona per nuotare. La distanza dall'edificio principale per arrivare alla spiaggia è un bel po' ci vogliono circa 10 min di camminata, con pochi scalini. Ci sono 3 piscine, una con un piccolo scivolo per i bambini e un'altra piccola relativamente vicina alla spiaggia. La stanza ampia, arredata semplice ma con tutto quello che serve e un bagno ampio con vasca, tutte hanno un piccolo balcone o cortiletto. Il ragazzo che ha fatto le pulizie è stato stupendo, ogni giorno ci lasciava una scultura di asciugamani diversa e carina sul letto. Il personale in generale è gentile e a differenza di altri posti non sono pesanti con le mance o il cambio di monete. Il cibo è buono, varietà e in generale saporito senza esagerare. Ora, la ragione del perché ho abbassato un po' avevamo prenotato il transfer, ma al nostro arrivo in aeroporto non c'era dopo più di un'ora e una mail per avvertire, abbiamo preso un taxi. Al nostro arrivo, l'impiegato con chi avevo scambiato le mail, ha provato a dirmi che era colpa mia che l'autista era stato li ecc. L'altro problema è che nonostante io abbia pagato una differenza per una stanza con vista parziale mare mi hanno dato una vista strada. Dopo l'incontro con l'impiegato ho lasciato stare. non volevo rovinare le vancanz

Bella struttura, camere grandi e spaziose, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo, buffet vario e cibo ottimo. Barriera corallina inesistente, o meglio, troppo lontana e non raggiungibile con il pontile. Personale cortese e disponibile. Lontano da tutte le attrazioni di Sharm
