Brought our dog, he was well looked after with some nice touches such as a dog bed provided not just in room but also by dinner table. Always made to feel welcome. Food was excellent and service was also very good. The room was nice and well appointed, to having a Dyson hairdryer and attachments which showed a commitment to quality. All in all, a relaxing stay in lovely surroundings.

This hotel is an absolute gem! Firstly the staff at 10/10 they go hugely above and beyond. We travelled with a baby and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is perfect, a real retreat away from a fast pace life. The restaurant is another 10/10, the food was outstanding. We cannot wait to return.

Lovely room, the only complaint I can make is that the kettle area is really dusty. I guess this is down to cleaners not being able to see as the room is so dark.

staff excellent,no check in desk only untidy office.
hotel very well equiped and decorated.bedroom suite was so dark we had to use a torch to make tea/no way to contact reception as no telephone in the room or contact number electric sockets for dressing table were under meaning we had to get on our hands and knees to use drier /rollers etc (we are eighty )the tv was a disaster to use also it kept buffering the whole three days.we had to chase receiption to replenish the hospitality goods.
the hotel gave us a reduced bill to cover our complaints .overall a very nice place to stay in a wonderfull position.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property is spotless, beautifully designed and we loved the concept of “doing nothing” - sitting in one of the cosy common areas with books, puzzles and vinyl players.

The team did seem slightly understaffed at times, but hopefully just teething issues and it didn’t affect our stay.

The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and the interiors now match the charm of the grounds. However, the service falls short of expectations. While the staff were really friendly, service was slow, and several dishes were mixed up at both dinner and breakfast. Our room was drafty, the shower temperature was inconsistent, and noise from the room above persisted late into the night. We slept terribly because of the stomping and TV from the adjacent room. We also noticed a small amount of water dripping from the ceiling near the fireplace in the morning. Overall, a pleasant stay but not a luxury experience. With improved service and maintenance, it could rival properties like Babington House or Soho Farmhouse.

Disappointing stay.

We have stayed here 3 times and this last visit was disappointing with all the changes. It has new owners, who are lovely.
The hotel has lost its charm of an English manor & has been renamed to reflect this.
It no longer has spa facilities..the pool has been demolished. Our room was still the same style and very comfortable… although loud base music resonated from the ground floor all day. This can be quite stressful especially if you want to chill.
The new style dining room is more like dining in a airport terminal restaurant than a luxurious hotel. Parking is now a bit of a walk as a stylish drive round island is now in place. In the past you could park outside and this was very convenient. Breakfast was very nice and the staff serving it were lovely…they could not have done enough…a very friendly bunch. In the past this hotel although expensive has been value for money…unless things change I don’t think we will return…
I appreciate updates have to be made but some of these change’s appear to be change for change sake. They have spent a lot of money.
We have recommended this hotel to quite a few friends…shame. Hope they take some of these comments on board.

Very attractive manor house from the outside, but some of the rooms have been refurbished with everything painted same shade of chocolate brown. Walls, ceiling, even the radiator all same shade of brown, and situation is really not helped by very subdued lighting. Some might consider it trendy, but we thought more of a dungeon vibe going on. Staff, however, were very attentive and helpful and we managed to get rooms changed to something brighter! Not sure how many rooms have the brown palette applied, but be aware. Various lounges and restaurant in main house were all attractive and food was good.

The room was really nice apart from a few design flaws such as the tiny sink in the bathroom that splashes on the floor, the surround lighting not coming on and the tea/coffee cupboard being very difficult to open. It was also pretty noisy as well with the noise from upstairs coming through the walls a lot. A comfy bed though and the service was excellent from the staff. Even in very hot temperatures our room was fine but I know others really struggled with the heat as there is no air con. We had to borrow a fan from the kitchen on the hottest nights.

One big downside we had was not knowing that the gym, pool and spa had been permanently closed before arriving with no prior notice. We would have almost certainly booked somewhere else if we knew in advance. Staff were very good about this though and gave us a discount.

The food was a good standard but really lacked finesse for the prices charged. Breakfast was very good though and the staff made the difference throughout.

Gorgeous stay in the country

We stayed here the night before we set out on the Cotswold Way which was also a birthday celebration and we loved this stay for its beauty and simple luxury. The grounds and buildings are gorgeous and the service beyond thoughtful and gracious.

We especially loved the lounge filled with wonderful books and a fireplace-a unique feature.

Outstanding cocktails and nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast made for a wonderful experience all the way around.

The property is majestic and the staff are polite and courteous. However I would not go to this property as I did not have a choice of vegetarian food . They would stick to a set menu and would not make an omelette instead of poached eggs. Tue mixer tap in my bathroom was loose and the drainage was blocked. The management needs to mindful of customer needs which sadly they are not

This Manor has great potential but it's under renovation which ruined the experience for us. Workmen loud voices, construction equipment, building materials and trash scattered all about. The first thing we noticed when we got to our room is that it had no shelving: not a single place to put your clothes except the ones you hang. The second thing we noticed, when we looked out the window the next morning (we got in at night), was that our supposed \"Garden View\" room was instead a \"Parking Lot View\" room. This prompted the following priceless comment from the front desk: \"Garden View rooms need not have a view of the garden.\" Then, at the end of our stay, wasps chewed a hole in the roof of our room and began entering one by one. The manager gave us £50 off our bill (on a room that cost £300 per night) for the wasps and another £50 for the parking lot view (after repeating the priceless line about Garden view rooms not needing a garden view). This is a beautiful property, with kind and friendly people at the front desk, but it is managed terribly - certainly not worth the steep price we paid. I wish we had stayed elsewhere and recommend that others do.

The hotel has new owners and is under renovation. Our room was all brown, kind of cave-like to mimic a stable. We ran out of toilet paper and there was no spare at 7 am. There are no tissues either, but a really nice espresso machine. Breakfast was amazing, with smoothies and a cooked menu. The location was great. We hiked to Ebrington and through the countryside. Views from the manor were beautiful.

We had a wonderful time at Charingworth Manor. We stayed for 4 days. It was under renovation so there were a few things missing but staff was wonderful. It is located out of town but the Cotswolds are vast and a car is needed.

The hotel is undergoing building works, but other than the view of diggers and contractors vehicles, it did not really cause an issue. The rooms were nicely refurbished. The food was excellent. When we booked, we chose the hotel partly because it had a pool. When we checked-in the pool had been closed permanently which was disappointing. Overall a very pleasant stay and walking distance to Ebrington.

We enjoyed our stay at Charingworth. Breakfast was excellent and restaurant was very nice for dinner - but a bit pricey & limited choices for persons with shellfish allergies. Bar staff made excellent drinks. Our only disappointment was the pool. The room was beautiful, warm & inviting but the water was freezing. Overall our visit was excellent - the grounds are absolutely beautiful and the manor is conveniently located in the Cotswolds. I would highly reccomend this facility.

We spent 4 nights for our wedding anniversary and wanted to visit The Cotwalds.
Absolutely stunning setting. So peaceful. The view from our room was beautiful too. It was all a divine stay from start to finish.
The beds were so comfortable, the shower was AMAZING!! The room facilities were top class. The breakfast was top quality and if you wanted to make changes, nothing was too much trouble.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful to top standards.
I will be recommending this hotels to my friend's and look forward to returning one day.

Welcoming and helpful team checked us in, navigated a narrow staircase to the attic room was nice and spacious with modern amenities. Bathtub with shower difficult to climb into and water only lukewarm. Grounds are pleasant with plenty of outdoor seating. Pool ok for a dip with towels available, the changing area was a little tired.
The food in the restaurant was very nice, would have been good for the vegan choices to be marked on menu but staff very helpful, however no vegan dessert choices available.

The garden was beautiful, so was the building externally.
Inside the restaurant area was dark and gloomy and the tables for two were uncomfortably small.
Our bedroom in the eaves was awkward to move around in due to the ceiling angles, and why put the safe on the floor?!
The entrance door to our room was immediately above steep stairs- a health and safety hazard.
The bathroom was fine, although the bath itself would be difficult for a short person to get in and out of.
Our main disappointment were the unsmiling inflexible staff who seemed to view guests as an unwelcome intrusion!!

Beautiful old Cotswold Hotel with many original features.
The rooms have been renovated and are very clean and comfortable. Bottles of water renewed every day.
The pretty swimming pool is a bonus.
The only possible criticism is that the low armchairs at the tables in the dining room were not practical and extremely uncomfortable.

i’ll start with positive - the bath amenities were nice, food: limited dinner menu but very good, breakfast is included which is a plus, but I couldn’t get an espresso. The room was fine but on my side of the bed there was no nightside table to rest my phone etc. NO air conditioning, bed was comfortable but there was only a heavy comfortable (not down) in a duvet for a cover, way too hot for sleeping. We could easily hear guests movement in room over us, and the TV from our side neighbor. Our room happen to have its only windows facing main road so we did hear vehicles pass, since we had to have window open. The biggest disappointment was the unavailability of the pool, which they say is temporarily out of order but I think it’s been out of commission longer than that. Bottom line, it’s not a bad hotel, just overpriced for what you get. If it was 150 per night I think it would be a good find, at 250 plus per night it, I cannot recommend it.

This is a great hotel for a few days away. Although we didn't use it there is a modern swimming pool. It is convenient for visiting many of the more attractive small towns.
The place is full of character and has a couple of relaxing salon rooms.
Eating in the restaurant is a real pleasure. The staff are excellent and food is superb.
The only downside from our perspective was that although our room was fine, the bathroom was very tired and needed a refit. Apart from this, we enjoyed our stay.
and would revisit without a problem.

Efficient and friendly check-in and out. Good value restaurant with well-cooked, classic dishes, served well. The breakfasts were also very good. Lovely cocktails in the small bar. Large, comfortable bed. Newspapers in the pleasant lounges. Small but attractive outside areas to have drinks in.

Downsides were a) the noise from other rooms especially the squeaky floorboards above us, b) some furnishings, decor and carpets past their prime, c) our room was perpetually dark even though sunny outside, d) left to book our own taxi.

We enjoyed our stay especially the food but would think twice about staying again as there are possibly better value and less noisy options in the area.

My husband and I (US) stayed here from July 4th to July 6th. This was the best hotel experience we have ever had. Extraordinary communication from booking to check in. Really great staff, I mean, really great. Amazing service. I was Fiona's (Feona?) first martini! The food, everything we tried was delicious. Room and grounds were wonderful. Even the other guests were pleasant.

This part of our trip rejuvenated my soul! Thank you!

I can't say enough about this place. Everything was excellent and exceeded my expectations. The staff was wonderful and nice to carry on a conversation with. We stayed for 5 nights and ate their most of the time. The food was excellent. One night, we ate at a Pub in Moreton-in-Marsh and regretted it knowing the manor food was way better. The outside sitting area is a wonderful place to sit, have a drink, talk and enjoy the quiet countryside around the flower garden. Being from the US, we just don't historical country mannors like this, so it was a pleasure just being there.

The manor has breathtaking views of the surely countryside. Not much else around the property so a car is a must. Parking is a slight problem even though we went during the week very polite staff. Overpriced bar that doesn’t stock Cotswolds gin as it’s too expensive !

Very relaxing hotel break.

Wonderful experience from the moment we drove up the sweeping drive with sheep in the fields to beautiful gardens ,& stunning Manor House.

Reception was warm friendly ,& welcoming.
Suite was very clean , comfortable ,well laid out with sweeping views across the countryside.

Food was so good. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast. Such a scrummy choice. Individually cooked breakfast took me back to service of yesteryear.

Every staff member friendly ,& professional.

Nice place, but too noisy and tricky to contact.

Great setting, lovely old-fashioned hotel and friendly staff. Poor sound-proofing, meaning we heard lots of noise from the communal area below and room above, which caused disrupted sleep. Also, tried calling the mobile listed to book a table for dinner, but no response to texts or voicemail. Finally, emailed on the website and got a response, by which time it was too late.

And be warned there is a £250 charge if you lose your room key!
