We were in Makkah for 5 days. Stay was really nice - we got a free upgrade to the room so that was good too.
The only concerns were that we did not get room service for 3 nights and I had to remind the hotel that they need to send someone. The other major concern was that the shuttle to Haram was always very packed. My family would end up having to stand up in the shuttle. That experience took away a lot from the 10/10 rating for Voco.

The room, hotel, and suhoor spread were excellent. The shuttle is a little unreliable with information not being readily available, but when one can manage to catch it, it’s a great service. It is worth noting that the walk to the Haram is quite far, around 30 minutes, and one will probably need to do it quite often given the shuttle is not always available (and if it is it doesn’t drop you very close to the Haram). Overall, excellent experience, would definitely recommend if one is willing to commute by foot to the Haram as a tradeoff for the super affordable stay.

Except one small issue in the room which was it seems water drainage pipeline passing through the wall, constant water noise was nuisance when there is no other noise inside the room it was pretty inconvenient for a sound sleep. Left the same feedback to reception. Otherwise hotel was good, room was absolutely neat and clean, staff was very good, and shuttle service to haram is cherry on top.

I would especially like to extend my sincere appreciation to Ibrahim Ahmad Bilman, who went above and beyond to assist us with our luggage and ensure our taxi arrived at the correct entrance. His professionalism and kindness truly enhanced our experience.

I would highly recommend Voco Makkah to all my family and friends. Additionally, the food was excellent and added to the overall quality of our stay.

A pilgrimage. The first stay a few days before was better as we had a clock tower view and the room seemed larger.

Upon check in we were told the room had been upgraded to a Haram view however the only view was a derelict building which seemed to be in the process of being demolished.

Retrieving our luggage which we left in storage a few days earlier was very frustrating as we were referred to lost and stolen numerous times before I went to reception and spoke with the bell boy who was great and located our luggage after 2+ hours, which was an inconvenience.

The hotel is really nice and modern. Staff were very helpful especially Samir during breakfast. Not too far from Haram as I walked with my 70yr old mum (she wasn't happy about it but she did it with several stops...lol.) . We did it a couple of time (not everyone can walk). They have a shuttle to take you to Haram but there's usually a crowd especially closer to prayer time as its a really big hotel with about 8towers. You can take a cab too for about 20 Riyadh though they will want to charge you more. They cleaned the rooms regularly and put bottle water daily and if they miss this, you can call their attention to it and it would be resolved asap. There is mall on the lower ground floor with similar prices with what you would get in the market but you can check the market to have an idea, you can also negotiate the price. They have a company that can help with tour and airport transfer but it may be pricey. Overall, it's a really nice place to stay and great location,

Our stay at voco Makkah by IHG was excellent. The hotel is very clean, modern, and well organized. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotless. Staff were professional, friendly, and always helpful.

The shuttle service to the Haram was well managed and convenient. Facilities are great, and the hotel offers very good value for money compared to other options in Makkah.

Highly recommended for Umrah visitors looking for comfort, cleanliness, and quality service.

Very poor internet and highly unprofessional behavior from the staff. The Wi-Fi was slow and unreliable during my stay.

When I reported that the tea kettle was already broken, the staff first accused me of damaging it. Although they eventually replaced it, they then warned me that I would have to pay if the replacement broke as well. This interaction was humiliating and made me feel disrespected as a guest.

This is a wonderful modern hotel with a lovely room great breakfast where chefs make fresh omelettes of choice or fried eggs. Discovered this later but the dinner buffet is really good as well for the price especially if you're IHG members. Great customer service as first time we went down for the dinner buffet but I couldn't find my membership number so paid the full amount.When I found my number they were kind enough to give me the change the discount would have given me.
The slight downside is that this hotel is a bit of a distance from the haram and although it said walk is about 25mins we didn't try that. Taxis are always coming and going but they have a bus shuttle service that runs from and to the the Haram every 20 mins but stops during prayer times.
All in all very happy with our stay here and would happily stay there again.

The check-in staff were flat-out rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional — and their supervisor somehow managed to be even worse. This place is cheap for a reason, and you feel it the minute you walk in. The shuttle is a nightmare: with the endless traffic between the hotel and the Haram, you waste half your trip just waiting or being stuck in transit. Booking this hotel was a terrible mistake, and I regret every minute I spent here. Do yourself a huge favor and stay far, FAR away from this dump. Avoid it like the plague

We recently went for Umrah in Makkah and stayed at the Voco Hotel. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel is still new, very clean, and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing.

The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. One of the biggest conveniences was the 24/7 shuttle bus service to the Haram, which made going back and forth extremely easy and stress-free.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose Voco again on our next visit. Highly recommended!

This was a great hotel, the staff were professional and the rooms were clean and spacious. There were also plentiful lifts (around 8-10 per tower), so that it was rare that you. had to wait more than a minute to be able to go upstairs/downstairs - something which is quite rare with other hotels in Makkah. There is also a small mall within the basement which we found very useful for being able to pick up snacks + water late into the night.

In terms of the distance to the Haram, it is probably around a 20-25 minute walk. Whilst the distance itself is not too far, the roads are poorly designed for pedestrians. Due to the volume of people walking, it can be a little bit of a slog to make it to the mosque. We tried the shuttle service once, and it was clean and arrived on time. However due to the traffic on the roads it probably took around 30 minutes to reach the bus terminal, and then another 10 minute walk from there.

Having said this, the upside of being a little further out is that you are a bit further from the crowds, it is easier to get a taxi in/out of the hotel and the food in the surrounding area is considerably cheaper than if you were staying close to the Haram.

They offer bus service from hotel to Haram I'm back to the hotel. On Friday after the Friday prayer the bus taking off back to the hotel was very packed it took us about an hour to board and because the traffic was heavy and there was a detour in one of the streets it ended up taking us about an hour and a half to get near the hotel and the bus needed another 30 minutes to arrive but a lot of people including myself got off the bus and ended up walking to the hotel. Overall I am still happy with my choice as it has nothing to do with the hotel service and room grade. The staff were super nice.
