I have selected this hotel based on very good reviews. I think the hotel is just okay for short stays. Very small room, there is no kettle / coffee or tea, no phone to contact reception, the bathroom has 2 paper cups and towels and toilet paper, shower gel in the shower and a hairdryer. Cleaning was done daily but unfortunately not with hoovering which we would expect. The breakfast are basic continental with ham, cheese, eggs, yogurt, fruits, coffee, tea, juice. Its a buffet type. Coffee machine available at reception with coffee costing 3euros. Hotel is further afield from centre but good connections with public transport. Billa just across the road which is handy.

Great staff, very clean, we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good. 10 minute walk to tram, Billa Supermarket across the street. Great value, we will stop here again. This is a residential and office building area, you will need a transit pass - 22euro / 7 days or use uber.

Rooms are huge, HUGE!- and very quiet. But kind of a weird body odor smell and everything feels old and dated, most especially the carpet which really should be changed. Great location for walking to everything, HOWEVER, and this is very important for some- it is not accessible. Cars/ taxi/ uber won’t even drive to the hotel, it’s medieval cobblestone streets. You will have to haul your luggage nearly ½ mile, and it will wreck your luggage wheels. When you arrive at hotel, stairs only no ramp for taking bags up. Staff is mostly very friendly, and the included breakfast was phenomenal. So it’s hit or miss, but these concerns should be mentioned. Also room was very cold with no thermostat, front desk gave me a space heater however. All in all, pretty good value- but can’t overstate the walking over cobblestones for way too long with luggage, and also the room amenities could be improved. For instance no toothpaste or bathrobe- just basic stuff.

The reception staff were quite rude. We were four friends and had booked two rooms. At first, we were given two rooms on the same floor, but they smelled strongly of weed, so my friend asked if we could change them. They moved us to another floor and gave us rooms next to each other, but one of them hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. We went back to request another change, but the receptionist responded that they weren’t obliged to accommodate us and even remarked that we weren’t children to be needing rooms on the same floor. We didn’t mind being on different floors, but the customer service was unacceptable.

I've stayed at Campanile hotels a couple times and it's one of the better budget hotels. It's clean and the beds are very comfortable. Multiple shops and restaurants close by. There's no frills though. Not even a mini fridge, the room is small but I sleep like a baby here.

Don't waste your money on this hotel

If I could give the rating in minus for staff, service and comfort, I would have given that. We booked a room for 2 adults and one 9 yr old child and we had one normal sized double bed in the room only. when we asked why theres no extra bed or seating for a child, their excuse was that only you have a problem, all the other children until the age of 12 sleeps with their parents in their bed. Made us feel that we surely don't belong to this world. All they could offer was a free cancellation at midnight when we had checked in. There were no kettle/tea, locker or intercom in the room. The staff were not helpful at all and in breakfast when we asked if there were any alternatives for milk due to allergies, the manager told us that in €14 breakfast you can't get almond milk, this was so humiliating. It wasn't us who decided on the charges for their breakfast, we paid what was on the website. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!

Ok Hotel But No Functioning A/C

Do not book this hotel if you are expecting to have A/C in your room. This hotel is listed on Hotels.com as having A/C; however, we went in August and the room would not cool down. (Even a staff member came to our room and noticed how hot it was.) After talking with hotel staff about the issue and that we were promised a working A/C, we were basically told that the A/C units for the hotel rooms do not work when the air outside is colder than it is inside. So, our room that was hot and stuffy could not be cooled down except for cracking open a window (which brought in street noice, ruined any room privacy and added undesired light from having to have the drapes open to let the air in). In fact, we were told by hotel staff not to use the “AC” unit in the room or it would actually heat up the room. The hotel would have otherwise been fine (breakfast was good and area was ok) except for the fact that it had no A/C and was too hot to sleep until it finally cooled down (with the window open and A/C unit off) at about 1 AM. So, if you are staying in Vienna during the summer, I definitely suggest you book elsewhere.

40 yo, solo traveler. I liked the stay in this location. It was clean and everything worked. On the 8th floor. It was quiet. I Like that, you have a key for the elevator, and you can go up and down without going through reception in the third flood. It feels like you were living in your own apartment. The smallest room with a king bed is great. Very comfortable. There is a gas station like 10 minutes away, I bought stuff there as I arrive late. The location is ~20 minutes away from the center. And I had to walk ~15 minutes to get to the tram. Streets are empty around that area, feel a bit sketchy, but this is Vienna, so no issues. Did not see any shady characters around. Hot water, good. Smells good. Everything worked. Stayed three days. Just go. Will comeback.

I didn’t mind the towels & sheets not being changed but the floor wasn’t hoovered & only the bin was emptied. Only had breakfast once which was enough. They were not very efficient. They had not processed the booking made through Expedia. Apparently it is not automated, they had look through their emails to find it. They didn't have the room type I had booked, available. But did find a twin bedroom that worked for me. Still, having to stand at the front desk for 20 minutes, after a day of travel, while the manager searched his email folder was not appreciated.

It was fine for the duration of our stay. It was a bit of inconvenience for what we wanted to do there. But thankfully transit in Vienna is amazing. The tram was about a 7 minute walk. The staff was friendly enough, only interacted with them twice, check in and check out. The pillows sucked, learning it may just be a European thing. Loved that all the hallways had motion detection so the lights weren't running all day

The room was renovated 3 years ago and seems VERY new which was a big plus.
However:
NO fridge/minibar,
NO phone in room ,
NO table,
NO chair,
NO couch/sofa,
NO closet (hangers available),
NO English Channel on TV.
NO Netflix (even though there’s a Netflix button on the remote control).

Air conditioner worked fine (cooling).

Drapes managed to block outside light in by about 90%.

Wi-Fi-
Wi-Fi was at a low quality and speed and disconnected much of the time.

Hotel area-
It’s difficult to locate the hotel from the street and there’s no easy visible sign. You enter through a passageway in the middle of a big building. The reception is located on 3rd floor. The rooms are on the floors above.

Area-
Billa plus supermarket nearby.

Early check in-
My experience in travelling around the world has shown that usually (in the large majority of the times), when arriving early, if the hotel has an available room they would let you in for free and not delay you until the normal check in time.
I arrived at about 7 AM and asked to check in early. They had a room but requested an additional payment for this which made the deal for this hotel, which is not centrally located, less worthwhile. I wrote them beforehand that I request an early check in. It seems they sent a message about this which wasn’t received.
(Had I known this in advance I most probably would have chosen a better hotel option (one that was more expensive but at a better location).

It was a relatively nice hotel, especially for the price. Staff were very nice. There were no amenities in the room (fridge, phone, coffee pot, etc) and the Wi-Fi did not work very well. The location was also a bit inconvenient as everywhere I wanted to go was at least 30 minutes by train/bus. The curtains had some kind of weird stain that looked like blood at first but I think it was food. The bed and bathroom seemed clean and the furnishings were newer.

Värt priset, även om hotellet ligger lite långt från centrala Wien. Kollektivtrafiken är dock tillgänglig och enkel att använda när man väl förstår systemet.
Tyvärr var servicen inte bra. Under vår vistelse byttes inte sängkläderna och städningen var bristfällig. Vi bad själva om städning och tog även upp detta med receptionen, men det verkade som om de bara låtsades att det hade blivit gjort.

de kamer was zeer basic en verouderd.we kregen 2 aparte bedden als koppel met een vast nachtkastje ertussen.
kamer heeft geen bureautje en ook geen plaats om je koffer op te leggen.
personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam en er was gezien ons late uur van vertrek mogelijkheid om bagage te stokeren.wel zeer drukke buurt en geen asbak buiten voor rokers en ook geen bankje om te zitten.

Drar en del ned ettersom det var gjester som gikk rundt og bar på hundene sine i frokostbuffeten og lente seg selv og hunden over maten. Helt ok at det er «pet-friendly», men burde vært restriksjoner akkurat ved maten.

Nel complesso la struttura é nuova! La camera dove abbiamo soggiornato era una quadrupla abbastanza spaziosa, il bagno accogliente e ovviamente senza bidet ma lo doccia era davvero comoda! Unica pecca della camera é stata la moquette perché davvero tanto macchiata. Nel palazzo dell’hotel ai piani dal -1 al -3 é presente un parcheggio comodissimo che arriva direttamente al piano delle camere con solo 16 euro al giorno.
