My children stayed from 1 to 6 January and enjoyed the hotel , however they did tell me that the singles beds in their room were not as comfortable as they expected unfortunately. As for everything else including breakfast and dinner at the hotel they were very happy. Thanks

Property was clean with friendly staff, near the u-bahn in what appeared to be an art deco or bauhaus building. The room was a good size, though with no view to speak of. The shower art was A Lot™️ but honestly that sort of added to the charm. Staff were kind and seemed accepting (we are a queer polycule).

Hotel does not clean our room everyday. The day they choose to clean it (at their own discretion), it is always half done. Our bathroom supplies are never replenished. When complaining to the front desk, they always give you the same standard answer, “ The housekeeper has gone home, I cannot do anything.”

We decided to stay at this hotel as it was walking distance to the Schonbrunn Palace however we were unable to get in to see the palace in it's entirety as we did not book in advance and the crowds were intense. The hotel was across from the underground train station so easy access to Vienna (about 15 minutes). That being said, the area around the hotel was dirty and didn't feel particularly safe although it probably was. It certainly didn't feel like we were in Vienna but rather a run down part of any city.
The hotel itself had good amenities. Our room was well equipped with a fridge, kettle, instant coffee, tea, iron, ironing board and was suitably large with comfy beds that had no perfumey smell. That being said the room was pretty dirty. The base of the toilet had yellow stains on it and the bathroom walls had stains of a different nature! The cabinets and fridge had drips of dried liquid and finger prints as did the light switches. There was a balloon under my bed and bits of debris. Thank goodness for Lysol wipes. We couldn't have stayed here if I was unable to clean up.
We definitely wouldn't stay again. We would pay more to stay closer to Vienna to have a more Vienese experience and a cleaner hotel.

OK but not more

We booked two connecting rooms and received written confirmation from the hotel beforehand. However, when we arrived, we were told there were no connecting rooms available. Instead, we were given two separate rooms on the same floor — one suite (as ordered) and one club room, which was not what we had paid for.

The hotel offered free breakfast as compensation, but unfortunately, it didn’t make up for the inconvenience. Having to split up the family between two rooms really disrupted our vacation — we couldn’t all be together as planned, and it made things very difficult, especially with the kids.

Additionally, basic amenities were lacking. Our room had no soap. When we asked for it to be refilled, we were told the housekeeping staff had already left for the day and that someone would bring it after 10:00 PM. No one ever did.

Overall, this experience was very disappointing. We chose this hotel expecting a certain standard and level of service, but unfortunately, it fell far short.

Noisy room in need of renovation

After having to complain many times, I was finally able to move from an extremely noisy room. The main window had been fixed shut, but still let in all the traffic noise from outside. Several of my colleagues also lost sleep for the same reason.
I moved to a room where the windows closed properly, but with the aircon set to minimum, the room was still too warm… In February!
After having may issues connecting to the internet (as with many other guests), an internet fee was added to my bill.
I would not recommend this hotel.

A pleasant stay with occasional disturbing noises

The overall service of the hotel is good except the soundproofing of the room needs improvement. Noises from trains and traffic passing by the hotel were heard inside the room. Furthermore, we were assigned a connected room so noises generated from the adjacent room could sometimes be disturbing.

We had an excellent stay at the Renaissance Wien Hotel and highly recommend it for anyone visiting Vienna! The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the U4 metro line, which provides easy access to all of the city’s major attractions. It’s only a few stops to the heart of Vienna, and one quick stop to the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace, making sightseeing incredibly convenient.

The hotel itself exceeded our expectations. The staff were professional. Our room was spacious, modern, and immaculately clean, with a super comfortable bed that ensured a restful night’s sleep. We also loved the amenities provided.

Whether you're in Vienna for leisure or business, the Renaissance Wien Hotel offers everything you need for a comfortable experience. We would definitely stay here again if we are visiting Vienna.

Very nice experience at the Renaissance Wien hotel (Ullmannstraße), especially for the spectacular service and attention of Albert and Denise in the dining area. They treated us very well and with great kindness. I wish all the service were like this.
The room was impeccable, as were the bathrooms. The dining room, the TV room, very good too. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

I stayed in this hotel many times and this time was very disappointed, starting with very bad service at reception desk to room not being cleaned for two days and missing shower gel. I hope this is one time off and next time I'm there it will be better.

Unfortunately Marriott forgot the Renaissance was a high end brand, actually switched from Hilton because of our previous experience, unfortunately the service wasn't great. Tne checkin was bad, the housekeeping showed up at 730 pm and offered towels, woke us up the next day early, and bar staff was scattered. Needs an intervention! Happy we havent booked any more Marriott property this trip.

Oddly expensive breakfast buffet and restaurant, luckily there's a lovely pub across the street and a grocery store. It's a North American 3 star hotel, not a 4.

The renaissance was great for our large family (triple rooms!). I need a fridge for insulin and these rooms had it, although I was disappointed that no employee could fine a freezer for my ice packs for traveling with insulin. Housekeeping always forgot to refill things in the room but they were quick to respond when I called.
Great location for the ubahn with grocery stores and restaurants close by. Would stay again without hesitation.

Hotel and facilities were good! Housekeeping was pretty bad! Bed was not made, coverlet was just arranged over the bed. Stayed 5 nights, room was never vacuumed. Phone /bedside lamp did not work , was not attended to. Had to request 3 times for shower body soap to be refilled. Reception and restaurant staff were excellent!

Nicely located hotel, right opposite the U4 metro line. Well appointed hotel and rooms. However, the reception staff were at best indifferent. The house keeping staff did not replace something we used from the coffee making facilities and the reception staff could not source me 2 packets of coffee creamer. One said, rather rudely, it was after 8 pm. He could do nothing. The other did in Vienna the things are not replaced. Really. Disappointed in Renessaince.

Disappointing stay in Vienna

Large queue to check in, had to pay 500 euros authorisation which still hasn’t been released. Room was ok, but shower wasn’t great. TV only had 3 English channels which were just American news channels! Normally you can connect your Netflix/TV apps to TV’s in hotels. Overall think the price was very expensive for what I received.

BEDBUGS! I woke up covered in angry, red welts and spend the rest of my trip itching miserably. The hotel is beautiful, modern, well equipped and splendid. But bedbugs in a five-star hotel? No!

The only compensation the hotel offered for my misery was to comp my very small bar bill and half (!) my laundry bill. That was downright insulting.

A beautiful hotel, but traveller beware!

The Hotel in itself, ignoring the rather idiosyncratic exterior is very good. Nice bar and good public areas. The room we stayed in, Junior suite, was nicely appointed and very well laid out. The only down points were the check-in process. We arrived at 12:30 and thought that we might not be able to check in straight away. We told to come back around 14:30. The guy on the reception was nice and helpful. We wanted to eat but the hotel restaurant wasn't open until 14:00. Not great for a 4 star. So we left and not being able to find anything in the area went into the centre. We returned at 14:40. The next guy who dealt with us seemed clueless. Asked for all the information we had already given and without an apology told us the room was not ready due to late check-outs. Check out time is 12. I took issue with this at which point his colleague. Blond and glasses early 60's to also become involve and regurgitating the ' its in the T&C's ` in quite an aggressive manner. 5 mins later we were told the room was now ready. The rest of the stay was great but a bad checking in process is never good and looking at previous reviews I think they might be understaffed however becoming annoyed and wanting to argue with guests is never a good look. Sort the staffing out and the hotel is a winner

This is a nice hotel located in Meidling. You have access to the U4 subway just across the street. The Schönbrunn palace is just a stop away on the subway. You can buy groceries across the street and there are numerous places to eat in the immediate vicinity.

Hotel staff were friendly and efficient and the hotel overall is nicely taken care of. My room was facing the subway with a nice view. With the windows closed one can hardly hear the street or subway.

My room was clean and nicely furnished with a large TV and a small fridge and a safe. Unfortunately the A/C was not working, or the hotel shut the cooling feature off to save energy. That made it hard for me to sleep because I needed to open the window overnight to get some cool air in, along with it came the noise from the street and subway. My other gripe with my room was that the grout in the shower appeared to not have been cleaned in a long time.

I rate this hotel a 4/5. If the bathroom were cleaner and the A/C worked definately would rate a 5.

Wonderful hotel. Steps from u6 station. 1 stop from Schonbrun Palace. Nice quiet clean room. Great restaurant just around corner named The Edward. Was a great base to explore Vienna. Emirates Airlines rooms their crews here and they are a first class outfit.

Excellent location, there is a U4 Line station right across the road , few stops from the city centre ,
Breakfast was superb, the setup, the food, the variety
The room was spacious, well decorated, stylish , cozy
The only disappointing thing to me is the lack of minibar in the room, it was my second time in a Marriott Bonvoy hotel where they have this Lobby - MiniMark concept and definitely I don't like it
