A great little IBIS hotel in district 5. A warm welcome at reception and a modern interior, I loved the pictures of the Lipizzaner stallions in the breakfast room. My cute room was on the top 7th floor. Small but suited me well. Comfy bed, great shower. You can ask for a kettle at reception. The breakfast was superb for 15 Euros each day and set me up for a whole day of exploring. The 5th appears gritty with lots of graffiti but felt perfectly safe. Easy walking distance to the U bahn at Margareten and riding to Karlsplatz, the beautiful church and great Christmas market. Two recommended places to rate are the Augustin restaurant where a got a yummy Viennese meal with a glass of wine for 22 Euros. Also, the very unique Sti Lanka restaurant Colombo Hoppers just a few doors down from the hotel.

Sink was clogged, wifi stopped working randomly, outlets are far from the bed so if you’d like to charge overnight it is not convenient. The room itself was dirty, stains on the bed. I would definitely not return nor recommend.

Firstly the pluses, staff were helpful and friendly, check in was quick and easy. Breakfast was lovely and there was hot and cold foods to choose from. hot food was sausage egg and sometimes bacon. full range of continental breakfast foods. The hotel itself is very clean. The area that the hotel is in is a very busy area with traffic. so there is a bit of traffic noise. We had a room on the 7th floor at the rear of the hotel facing onto the metro line. even with the window firmly closed there was the constant noise of the metro trains nearly all through the night, you do get used to it eventually.
On the minus side, the decor in the rooms was a bit dated and felt gloomy. bathroom was clean but had seen better days. No tea and coffee making facilities although you can get drinks from reception 7 floors down. If you are using this hotel as a base to explore Vienna its fine for that, about an 8 min walk to the nearest metro station either way as it sits between 2 stations.

The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Especially Alex and Christian who were able to resolve some issues we had on checking in due to our late arrival becos of a very delayed connection. Breakfast was exceptional for the price. The kitchen staff were always very friendly and obliging to assist with anything we needed. The dining area was always kept clean and free of dirty dishes and the food was always replenished as soon as it appeared low. All the staff both at reception and the dinning area, were always ready to assist with anything even if it was a simple as taking your photo in the lounge. We loved our stay and will definitely stay here again. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to others. Thank you Ibis Vienna.

The room was dreary. Carpet in the hallway was stained and the carpet in the room had damage from the vacuum. The air-conditioning did not work which forced us to open the windows onto an incredibly noisy street. No drawer spa e to put clothes. Cheap towels and bathroom soap. Will not stay here again.

The hotel is approx 1.5 miles from all of the main attractions in Vienna, but there is public transport nearby (we didn't use it as we walked everywhere!)

The room itself was big, airy and clean with a street view. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom looked newly done and was also clean.

There is a laundrette across the road from the hotel which is open until 10pm. It takes approx 80 minutes to do a wash and a dry and is recommended to use if needed.

There is also a Spar supermarket and many eating establishments nearby. 'JustEat' also delivers to the hotel too.

Overall I highly recommend and would return if I ever went back to Vienna.

The room was very clean but very basic. Plenty of space with 2 chairs and large desk and bench. Good shower and clean overall bathroom.

Bed had a very thin “mattress” like a mattress topper almost and was so uncomfortable. Pillows were rubbish. Poor nights sleep all in all.

It’s pricing is very competitive mainly due to Its relative inconvenience in terms of public transport - you would need lots of walking to use the metro, trams etc. The room was also one of the most bare minimum in facilities but considered acceptable for the price.
For budget travelers I have no qualms about staying here.

We have stayed one night in the hotel.
Besides the fact that my husband and I needed to ask for a additional sheet (the one provided by the hotel was a single one, although we had a double bed), unfortunately we forgot one white pair of pants on the bed. We have contacted the hotel the same day we left the property, just a few minutes we left it, just to let them know that we would be going back to the hotel in 10min in order to get the pants back, but the receptionist said they haven’t received anything from the housekeeping and that we would need to contact them again the day after. We said to them we couldn’t wait for the next day as we were leaving the country in one hour and the receptionist said that they couldn’t do anything, instead of trying to check if the pants had been left in the housekeeping room or at least contacting the housekeeping. Therefore I couldn’t get my pants back. So disappointing! Not good customer service at all! Never again!

This is a basic hotel (for UK residents think Premier Inns from 10 years ago). It is clean and comfortable if you just want somewhere to lay your head. Near the Gurtel but with good public transport links so most of the important sites are no more than 30 minutes away. We have always found the staff to be pleasant and willing to help. We stay here twice a year as our daughter and family live 5 minutes walk away. We do not take breakfast here as we find it rather expensive for what it offers. We will be back again in the spring.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and would not return. Firstly the staff clearly did not want to be there when we checked in, they were very unfriendly. Secondly, the room we were given was on the 2nd floor and on the main Rd. It was extremely noisy and had no sleep. We also had someone walk into our room early in the morning without knocking. I went to the reception the next morning as instructed by the staff and asked for a new room to be told every room is noisy, we are in the city. We eventually got a new room, which the staff clearly did not want to do, and the room we received next did not have wifi connection and the toilet had an awful smell. I would not recommend this hotel.

First of all, it is good choice if you find a budget hotel.
Room condition is not particularly good or bad for Ibis.
Metro station is little far, and bus stations and supermarket are convinient by walk. Several restaurants are located nearby.
In my experience, it wad quite for weekend and I can hear sone noisy weekday early morning from car.

This is a small, basic hotel. It is about 5 minutes walk from our daughter's apartment so this was our third visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast seems quite expensive but we hardly ever have breakfast there. Good shower and hot water. Air con is not very effective and Vienna can get very hot. Wifi in all parts of the hotel but this time we found it was difficult to connect and often dropped. We will certainly use it again if only because it is so close to our family.

Great location - uncomfortably hot rooms

My experience at the hotel started well, we arrived 90 minutes before check in time but were given keys for our rooms early and the person at reception was very polite. The rooms themselves were clean and adequately sized and the free wifi worked well.

The main problem was the comfort of the room. When we stayed in Vienna the temperature at the weekend was around 15-20c during the day. When we checked into the rooms they were extremely hot, stuffy and uncomfortable. Opening the windows seemed to do little to help and the hotel is on a pretty busy road so the traffic noise is very loud when the windows are open.

I turned on my air conditioning but it didn't do anything. When I enquired about this later and member of staff very bluntly told me that air conditioning was not enabled in the hotel until the end of April and that was that. They offered no other advice or help with the matter.

I found this meant my stay was extremely uncomfortable - I did not sleep well due to the heat, something I presumed I wouldn't be an issue as the hotel is advertised as having fully air conditioned rooms. The only way to get the heat down was to open the windows which meant it was then too noisy to sleep!

All in all my experience was pretty bad due to lack of sleep on my trip. It is a shame as the area the hotel is in is very good - there are some great bars and restaurants in the area but if you are at all sensitive to heat I would not recommend you stay here.

Vienna Chtistmas markets

First time to Vienna and although the hotel was cheap, cheerful, clean and warm it was too far from the main attractions. A good 30 minute walk there and back each day as Vienna is a big city. Best and biggest christmas markets we have seen. Lots of art galleries and concerts at The Opera House and beautiful churches.

A good 3 star hotel

This hotel is on the edge of central Vienna, close to two U-bahn stations and a tram stop and several bus routes. Access to the whole of Vienna is therefore very easy. Ubahn to Karlsplatz about 15 min and walking there about 25 min.Maria Hilf Strasse about 15 min walk.
The hotel is between a busy one-way street and the U-bahn railway but we found our room to be very quite.
The room was adequate size and was good for 3* accomodation. Everything was clean and well services. IBIS have and 15 minute guarantee for serice and when we wanted some extra coat hangers they duly arrived within that time. The hot water was instantly hot and the shower was good.
On the negative side the air con in the room was poor although thankfully the window did open. The wifi was variable and cut out at times. The breakfasts were adequate although I thought 12 euros was a bit expensive and when an item such as porridge ran out there was no more available.
We will certainly use this hotel again when we visit our family in Vienna.

*Note* - This is my second stay here. Really love this place!

Pros:

- Spacious Room was very clean, even around the edges. Plenty of shelf space.
- Large, comfortable bed with firm mattress
- Good Location - just a short walk to the U-bahn. There is a supermarket right down the street,
and several other places to eat nearby.
- Laundromat right across the street. 6-Euros for a regular size wash.
- Good quality HDTV with a good selection of cable TV channels. Several in English and many
other languages.
- Staff speaks English very well and are helpful
- Breakfast is 12 Euros extra and consisted of a full selection of eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses
and rolls
- Free WiFi which worked well
- Clean bathroom with a large shower(unusual for Europe). Water pressure is good and plenty of hot water. Good amount of shelf space for toiletries.
- Refreshing, ice cold tap water to drink

Cons:

- No refrigerator in the room. I wish Ibis would get on board with this - it would send the room quality
over the top.
- Hotel is located on a main avenue with non-stop traffic 24x7, so there is some noise level if you have the window open. Helpful Hint - the window opens 2 ways - horizontally and vertically depending
on how you turn the handle.
