We had a flight delay that caused us to get to the hotel at 1am, we’ll after the closing at 11pm advertised on the website (and sent by email that day but that we didn’t get as we were travelling). We buzzed on the locked door and the manager of the hotel came out (obviously we had woken him up) and gave us our keys letting us check in the next am. They would have been well within their rights to leave us stranded as they are a small hotel and could not be expected to have a 24 hr front desk. Excellent customer service.

The rooms while old, are very spacious (more like a suite) and in great state of cleanliness. The bed is huge and comfortable and it was very quiet. The breakfasts were excellent and the service impeccable. We felt like family and loved our time there. It is right across the street from a subway station and you can be anywhere in 20 minutes. Very convenient to both the airport and old town. Would repeat next time we’re in Vienna for sure.

Hotel with Viennese style and charm

We enjoyed our stay at the Altwienerhof, as it was comfortable and has a real old-world charm and style. It's very near Gumpendorfer U-Bahn (underground) station, so well-connected to public transport, and near Schonbrunn Palace. The breakfasts are particularly good, with a delicious range of tasty choices in the buffet.

Professional and friendly staff

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Both my girls enjoyed the sense of space in the family apartment. It had interesting traditional features housed in a traditional building. The surroundings or neighbourhood is not very attractive but it is conveniently located very near to an underground tube station.
Any requests made to staff were accommodated. The rooms were cleaned daily to a very good standard. The spread for breakfast was varied and good.
My daughter was sick one afternoon in the hotel lobby and the gentleman at the check in desk dealt with it very professionally and without any fuss.
It was a nice quiet oasis to retreat to after a busy day of sightseeing.

Excellent Hotel - Excellent location

4 night here in October, location within 2 minute walk to tube station, tram and bus routes all into the city. Restaurant, local shop closed by.
Hotel very welcoming, very clean room with separate toilet, shower and bath, room was very warm and well heated. The bed a super king size.
No hot drink facility in the room but this did not concern us.
The Hitel over all has an Austrain feel and the breakfast room was beautiful. The breakfast was plentiful, cereals, fruiit, yogurts, juices, cheeses and meats ( being vegetarian this did not worry us) hot breakfast too, breadsticks every variety, toaster available and pastries.
Champagne every morning which was a real treat.
Room serviced every day.
The reception area doubles in the evening for good wine and beers at reasonable prices.
Hotel staff very happy to help with enquiries regarding transport.
We highly recommend this hotel for reasonable priced stay in good location. Highly recommend buying a city pass which is available at the hotel.
We have no moans or complaints.

Re-check the filters!

Two important issues out of my prioritized three on the filter were hotel shuttle and bar restaurant. There was no shuttle & breakfast was only offered. I was not happy, I was very tired and hungry upon my arrival, I had to go out to find dinner after 14 hours of flying.
The breakfast was ok, no coffee unfortunately. The wine bar was nice.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location

I stayed in Altwienerhof hotel for 2 nights for 50 eur/night. I arrived in Vienna very early in the morning but the hotel staff was so nice to check me in. The hotel is only 2 min walk from Gumpendorfer Stafe, so the location is very good. The breakfast was very nice as well. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.

Two nights in Vienna

During our time in Vienna it was very warm. Our room was hot so we had to keep the windows open. There was no AC. We slept poorly because of the nearby road noise as well as the voices we heard from people on the street below. If we could have kept the windows closed it would have been much better.

Good Value stay

The hotel good location, staffs nice and friendly. Breakfast was adequate. Room cleaned everyday, bed comfortable. Big room we had with separate bath room and toilet. The bedroom face onto the front of hotel and back to the garden. The room does get very warm and can be noisy from the general traffic and business around there but to be expected as it located very near a underground, bus and tram station.

Amazing experience. Huge room, could have done with a fridge but that is minor. Staff were amazing. Room was massive. Location was right across the road from train station and only 1 station away from major European hub train station. Neighbourhood was very safe and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel for all.

Pleasant older hotel close to transportation

Room was huge, even by U.S. standards. Gentleman at reception desk in the evening is a delight! Very friendly and very informative. Close to Westbahnhof Station and across the street from the subway. Very easy to get anywhere in the city from here. Terrific breakfast included.Certainly a great alternative to the cookie cutter corporate hotels.

Charming hotel but not so nice neighborhood

This hotel is a delightfully old-fashioned Viennese hotel. We had a large and comfortable family room with separate shower and toilet which was very useful. The dining area make you feel as though you are at your great-aunt's having tea. Extensive european breakfast. Good coffee. Lovely outdoor seating area. Reasonably good wi-fi. Very helpful and nice staff. So - why would I not recommend this to a friend? Because there is an outdoor cafe on the neighbouring street where the local riff-raff came on both nights that we stayed. There was a loud group of men that stayed from approximately 10pm to 3am when the police arrived. Their conversation escalated from disagreement to angry, ugly fighting that made me very glad that we were 3 stories up and that my 6 foot 2 husband was with me. I have traveled all over the world - lived in eastern europe during communist days, have worked in dusty towns in Rwanda ,and left Kenya in the midst of the mall shootings - nothing has scared me until the fights outside of our hotel. When I gently complained the first night, the staff told me that nothing like that had ever happened before, but it happened on both nights. It is sad because otherwise this place is lovely.

Good hotel near Vienna West Station

It was one metro stop from Vienna West Station. In the area you could find reasonable restaurants for some nice dinners. The hotel itself was clean and spacious. I have some problem connect to the internet. Breakfast was very good and delicious.

Oasis in the middle of hubbub

An oasis in the middle of hubbub. Manager is very courteous and engaging sadly the supporting staff were not that enthusiastic.
The room was massive. The provision of fan was an unexpected bonus.

The hotel is in the small Street opposite the Gumpendorfer metro station one stop from Westbahnhof. The hotel has loads of character from the tapestry lined breakfast room walls to the enclosed garden courtyard. The staff are very welcoming and we caught up with my cousin and she was most welcome to join us using the hotel facilities.

Deluxe room was large with separate seating area overlooking the garden. A little dated but kept very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Continental breakfast was included and was of a goof standard.
Hotel wifi was complimentary and could be used in the room.
All in all a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is in a good location. You can either get on the u-bahn just across the road or get on the 47a bus which goes straight into the centre of the city.

Our room was huge. Big bathroom and comfortable bed. Minimal noise from the street.

Breakfast was good. A good variety, whether you wanted toast, cereal, fruit, eggs etc. You can enjoy a beer or wine in the reception area too, we did this on our last night, wish we had a couple of days earlier.

Staff very friendly and helpful.

We absolutely loved our staff here.

We had a four night stay at the Altwienerhof and were pleasantly surprised. Gentleman on reception was courteous, efficient and helpful with advice on things to do. Our room was quite basic in furnishings but huge (a suite really) and the bathroom/shower had been renovated to a high standard. Comfortable beds but pillows too soft. Breakfast was good and the décor lovely. Nice little garden area off reception. Immediate locale not great but safe enough.

Great location and charming Austrian vibe

You couldn't ask for a better location for the price. The Altwienerhof was a 5 minute walk to the closet metro stop and a couple of easy stops later you were in the heart of the city. The hotel had a lot of charm as well. We had a large suite that was comfortable and had a lot of old European charm. The hotel staff was helpful with suggestions about what to do and how to get around the city. There was an impressive spread for breakfast and a nice dining room. My only complaint was the bathroom. Our shower and toilet were in separate rooms. The shower was great...it had 6 side jets and a main shower head. The toilet room on the other hand smelled awful. I literally had to hold my breath to use the bathroom. I don't think it's the hotel's fault, probably just old sewer lines. That was my only complaint and something that I could put up with for a great location.

The best customer service experience ever!

After spending the night at another hotel- where the reception was extremely rude and unprofessional-I was unsure what to expect, but this place completely delivered!
The reception clerk, Sorin, was friendly and welcoming. He even allowed me to check in earlier. I was able to print and take care of other issues with upcoming bookings with the polite and helpful staff. The nature of this hotel is like being at home. There is always someone friendly and willing to help. I was able to take up tea to my room no extra fees or anything. The room was huge and looked like a museum. I had a couch and a chair and a queen sized bed. The breakfast was delicious and the selection of dishes and quality teas was outstanding. My one regret is having but one night to spend in this hotel. Location is good. It is about one stop from the central westbanhof were many trains and rail lines intersect. This is genuinely the best customer service experience I've had in all of my travels.

Very handy for underground, making it very convenient to get round vienna. Good breakfast and the manager/owner was very helpful and obliging. He recommended good restaurants nearby which were authentic but not silly tourist prices. He also introduced me to Zweigelt a very good austrian red wine.

Spotless, Lovely Staff, Great Location, Weak Wifi

A friend and I stayed at this hotel in April 2013 for three nights, and we couldn't believe how good a deal it was!! It was less than $100 a night for a spotless room with a brand new bathroom and toilet room, lovely staffers, and a decent breakfast. My only complaint was that the wifi was really weak, but one of the employees said they were working to correct that issue. The room decor was dated, and the layout was odd (there was an extra room with an outdated-looking sofa and a third bed) but it was huge and spotless!!! [I think our room number was 300.] The room had a foyer with a big armoire for clothes, a toilet room, a shower and bath room, a big main bedroom, and the extra room with a third bed and funky sofa. You can also walk about 10 minutes from the main train station to this hotel, or, simply take the subway one stop to the Gumpedorferstrass stop (the hotel is just across the street). There is a great restaurant called
Bauernbrau nearby that the staff recommended, it had good food and custom beers (the dark beer with a hint of chocolate was amazing); it was a great value--we ordered an appetizer, six large beers, and two dinners for about $45! We had a lovely time in Vienna, and this hotel was a terrific value. The hotel itself was very quiet, with an older charm and outdoor courtyard. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Beautifully renovated in keeping with the original style of the hotel. Antique furniture in the

It was ok but expected to be nicer hotel from the price we paid. No air conditioning and can not watch television even ther is an old style television in the room. There is no sink to wash your hand in toilet room. Shower room and toilet room are seperate and you have to walk across the bed to the shower room to wash your hand.

Wonderful place

This is a wonderful place to stay in Vienna! The U Bahn is across the street and you are minutes from any of the must see places. Highly recommend trying to make it over to the 12 Apostles to eat.. and the crown jewels. The hotel has a wonderful courtyard and we were treated so well it was sad to go. Tell Maximillian we said hello and enjoy!

We loved this hotel. Our room, which faced the street, was very large, with a nice sitting area. The bed was really comfortable. The bathroom was luxurious with a huge walk-in shower. The breakfast room was beautiful and gracious with two lovely large rooms and lots of space between tables. The breakfast included meats and cheeses and wonderful breads. I saw some reviews that said some parts of the hotel were a little worn or tattered, but we did not see that, The staff were all so nice and helpful. There is a bus to the ring area just across the street, which comes often.

They were doing some renovations at the time and I expect that they will be able to offer rooms that appear modern as well as rooms with an authentic look which was a factor we very much enjoyed about our stay. Close to metro in an area with little to do, this hotel has clearly been great once and is now suffering from some genteel poverty... it must have been something 20 years ago... I liked it ... rooms are large and comfortable and the breakfast good... easy to get into the city center by metro... good value... on the other hand, the elevator did not work for half a day... and not everybody may be as romantic about a has been as me... I hope they fix the place up because the bones are great and a lot of it and the garden are very beautiful..I recommend it but go with a relaxed attitude!

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer. Das war groß und bot genügend Platz. Die Rezeption war täglich von 10:00 Uhr bis 23:00 Uhr besetzt und sehr hilfreich. Das Frühstück war gut. Der Innenhof klasse. An manchen Ecken git es Renovierungsbedarf. Es war aber noch in Ordnung. Da es in unserer Urlaubswoche sehr heiß war, haben wir eine Klimaanlage vermisst. Die U-Bahn ist direkt nebenan, was bei den täglichen Sightseeing-Touren hilfreich war.

いろいろな意味でaltなホテル

西駅から地下鉄で1駅目（西駅から歩ける距離）で価格もリーズナブルなので選びました。フロントの人はとても感じがよく、部屋はかなり狭いものの、インテリア等、「古き良きウイーン」風でまとめられ、チェックインしたときの印象はとてもよかったのですが、いかんせん設備が古すぎでした。ベッドは軋むうえに体側片側に傾いているし、洗面所は（普通に使っているだけなのに）裏側に水が回ってしまい床がびしょびしょになりました。部屋のカーテンは幅・長さとも窓全体を覆うには足りず、部屋の照明をつけると向かい側の家から中が見えてしまう状態でした。シャワーは致命的で、固定式でジョウロのような水流しかなく、しかも3泊した1日目はお湯が出ましたが、2日目以降は水しか出ませんでした。かなり暑い日だったのでそれでもしのげましたが、真冬だったら大変なことになっていたと思います。朝食はごく普通でした。

Приятно удивили размеры номера. Две комнаты, одна из них с удобной кроватью, вторая - с раскладным диваном. В номере есть ванна и отдельно душ. Бутылка воды в номере при заселении. Во время проживания испортилась погода и вечером в номере включали отопление. Ежедневная смена полотенец. Завтраки хорошие, с шампанским. Достаточно тихо и спокойно в номере. Хорошая транспортная доступность.

Potete andarci!

Hotel situato in una zona ben servita, a poche fermate di bus, tram ed anche di metropolitana, vicina al centro. Buona la colazione, gentile il personale, buona la pulizia. Proprietario disponibilissimo ai consigli, simpatico e parlante benissimo l'italiano, atmosfera ed arredamenti della lobby, dell'area colazione e delle camere un po retrò e con qualche inevitabile \"spartaneria\"\" che fa però la postiva differenza rispetto ad anonimi mega hotels. Insomma c'è tutto per stare bene ed a costi contenuti. Andateci tranquilli se non cercate lusso e se invece cercate un buon prezzo per dormire e una buona colazione in una atmosfera particolare.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem klassizistischen Gebäude, und ist mit antik Möbel eingerichtet. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war groß, sauber, nachtsüber ruhig. Alles lief unkompliziert.

El hotel es diferente, al llegar nos atendió un señor muy amable sentado tras la mesa de un despacho, no hay recepción al uso pero es muy agradable. La habitación con muebles y decoración antigua pero con unas camas enormes y muy cómodas. Como detalle una botella de agua con gas que la verdad se agradece. El desayuno bastante completo y en un marco incomparable con música clásica de fondo. El tranvía 18 pasa a 150m y a poco más de 10 minutos tienes la Europlatz. Sin duda repetiría

Nostalgischer Charme

Für den öffentlichen Verkehr sehr günstig gelegen, obwohl das Viertel sehr heruntergekommen ist.
Das Hotel selbst ist sehr ruhig, mit schönem Innenhof/Garten und Nostalgiecharme mit etwas Patina.
Wunderschöne alte Frühstücksräume, man fühlt sich wirklich wie in Altwien.

Gott sei Dank noch im alten Kaiserstiel!

Bin schon das 5 Mal in diesem Hotel und bin sehr zufrieden. Gute Anbindung an die U6 Gumpendorferstrasse und sehr freundliches Personal. Der alte kaiserliche Stiel dieses Hotels finde ich sehr gut, den es gibt immer weniger solche Hotels in Wien. (teilweise wegen Umbau ect). Ich werde mit Sicherheit wieder dieses Hotel bei einem Wien-Aufenthalt wählen.

Gutes und praktisches Hotel, alt-wiener Flair, trotzdem komfortabel und gemütlich. Nicht die neueste Einrichtung, aber in Ordnung und sauber. Sehr gutes und reichhaltiges Frühstück in historisch anmutenden Räumen mit gediegener Einrichtung. Beste Lage öffentlich erreichbar, Umgebung nicht besonders ansprechend.

Hôtel PARFAIT!!!!

J'ai adoré mon w.e à Vienne dans cet hôtel!!! Chambre avec vue sur jardin, au calme... Petit-déjeuner parfait (du très bon pain) et des réceptionnistes toujours disponibles et donnant de bons conseils!!! L'emplacement est top... A 100 m du métro et le bus 57A qui va au château de Hosburg en 10 min! Bref, que du bonheur!!!!

Hôtel pratique pour aller à Vienne

L'hôtel est situé très près d'une station de métro qui d'ailleurs est très bien. Cela permet de se déplacer aisément pour se rendre au centre ville. Il y a quelques bon restaurants dans le quartier même s'ils ne sont pas très nombreux. L'hôtel est typique et propose un petit déjeuner de bonne qualité et le personnel est très avenant. C'est la deuxième fois que je vais dans cet hôtel et j'y retournerai.

Bon séjour dans Hotel confortable

Accueil très sympathique avec le personnel, le responsable de l'hotel parle français, anglais sans problème.
Personnel très disponible et à l'écoute.Petit déjeuner copieux, jusqu'à 10 heures.
Chambre très calme, sans aucun problème pour un bon sommeil.
Restaurant indien, et asiatique à proximité et bon rapport qualité prix.
Station de métro à moins de 150 mètres.

Wieder ein Wochenende in Wien. Das Hotel hatte eine gut Verbindung mit den Öffentlichen. Schikaneder, das Musical hatte es uns angetan, so wären wir Wiederholungstäter.

Til prisen (Tilbudspris) var værelset og morgenmaden OK. Dejligt stort familieværelse opdelt i 2 afdelinger. Pænt og velindrettet moderniseret brusebadeværelse med kar. Passede perfekt til vores behov (2 voksne + 2 børn)

Hier fühlt man sich zu Hause

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer, welches durch ein zweites Treppenhaus erreichbar war. Es hatte fast die Größe einer kleinen Wohnung. Man hatte seine Ruhe und hat nichts von anderen Gästen mitbekommen. Gegenüber von unserem Zimmer war noch ein Gästezimmer. Das waren auf dieser Etage die beiden einzigen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.

Inventar sehr alt und abgewohnt, nicht sauber.

Leider ist das Hotel total veraltet und die Sauberkeit lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig. Nur das Frühstück war eine positive Ausnahme, das ich so in diesem Hotel nicht erwartet hätte. Das Haus benötigt dringend eine Generalsanierung - drei Sterne finde ich absolut nicht gerechtfertigt.

만족스럽지 못한 호텔입니다.

저렴한 가격, 넓은 실내 그리고 인근 지하철역과 트램 정거장이 바로 앞에 있어서 선택했습니다.
위 사항은 이 호텔의 장점이 맞지만 도심을 벗어난 무서운 분위기가 드는 곳이었습니다.
체크인 시 친절함을 느끼기 힘들었으며, 와이파이 사용이 가능하다고 했으나 방에서는 잡히지 않아서 꽤 고생했습니다. (복도로 나가야 와이파이가 잡혔음)
그리고 방문이 문틀과 좀 벌어져 있어서 신경쓰였고 냉장고가 없는 점, 화장실에 헤어드라이기가 있으나 뜨거운 바람이 거의 나오지 않는 오래된 것이라는 점, 채널이 몇개 나오지 않는 오래된 tv, 깨끗하지 못한 카펫 등 룸 컨디션은 매우 열악했습니다.
이 점을 별로 고려하지 않는 분이라면 머물만 한 곳이지만, 그다지 추천하고 싶지 않은 호텔입니다.
