Review of stay

My stay is good, the room is comfortable. The bathtub shower is far too high to get into for a 5 foot 2 lady. Will not be ideal for elderly occupants. Bathroom wall areas especially in the shower area needs demoulding or has to be redecorated. The room price per night is far too high compared to many 4 stars hotels I have stayed in Europe.

Problems with the toilets in both rooms, one corrected itself , the other was faulty throughout the whole visit.

The room was not as clean as expected, and there was a some dirty ladies knickers left inside the wardrobe .

Hotel has a nice location and it's very cozy.

There is a low shelf above the sink in the bathroom, which makes really hard to wash your face without wetting the floor.
Apparently there is a leak in the bathtub or in the bathtub glass door.
We slept on a twin bed (not double as expected) with two separated blankets.

There was building works throughout our stay including exposed wires right outside our room. We moved room as on the first night we were woken up at 7am from a crane outside our window, but the second room overlooked the renovation in the yard so we were woken early again the next day. It’s just not finished yet. You can see it’ll be nice in a few months but it is a building site at the moment. ( our water was turned off and we were told to use a toilet at another hotel- so we couldn’t even use the hotel to relax at ). Just don’t offer rooms until it’s finished. Oh and the aircon apparently doesn’t work until summer but the hearing was turned up high.

Superb location, outstanding staff

Very kind and helpful desk staff. The hotel is directly across the street from the historic Raimund Theater, and it is ideal if seeing a performance there. Lots of restaurants are nearby. The hotel is within walking distance of the Vienna West train station and access to metro lines. The hotel breakfast buffet is excellent. The hotel also arranges for transportation from the airport (for which one needs to pay), something that makes it easy when arriving in Vienna with luggage after a long flight.

Nice hotel. Not really close from the main tourist areas so we had to use uber but it was okay. Room was clean and just has enough stuffs for tourists. My favourite part was having the bath.

The hotel is old but has a new decor, the elevator is small and the breakfast is acceptable. Near the subway station, but two times to the station, young men are dealing in drugs and the environment is messy.

Good price hotel, but a bit out of the way

Managed to get to the hotel from airport in just about an hour. Train to main station, u bahn then tram .24 hour ticket for local trams/buses/u bahn is about €8 and valid for 24 hours from the time you first use it (validate in stamp machine). Its a little off the beaten track and not much to do in the area, but hotel itself is OK. Tourist areas very easy to reach, excellent public transport in the city.

I would not describe the reception staff as friendly. Polite is probably more appropriate. I stayed for 3 nights in Feb 17. The area isn't great and the nearest underground station Was at times scary with dodgy looking people hanging around and frequent police attendances

my wife got sick in this hotel

we stayed in the hotel for 2 days before we left my wife began to have itching and burning in the intimate area, she has showered and wiped with a towel provided by the hotel, we went to the doctor the next day and the doctor confirmed that the fungus was taken from the cap towel or toilet that were not disinfected properly

Very clean, nice modern hotel

Very close to the U6 uban line. Realized not all hotels are as close to subway lines. Room with a view of the theater on balcony. Breakfast was superb! Great range of hot, cold, and sweets. Room itself was spacious,super clean and bathroom floors were heated. Hairdryer, water pot available for use! All in all was a great stay! Definitely recommend.

The room was comfortable, but it didn't have a minibar or vending machines. So, if you don't know the area it was difficult to find food and drinks after hours. The hotel staff was polite but also not familiar with the area. We found out the cafe and pizzeria was open till 0130 which was very comfortable. The train station was really close so that made it easy to travel. The refrigerator could have been bigger considering you had to buy your on drinks. Also, the bar and restaurant was not open yet.

This hotel was conveniently located near public transport, less than 5 minutes walk to Westbahnhoff and the first district is easily accessible, only a 20 minute walk, if you like walking. Or 5 stops to Karlsplatz.

New and modern hotel

This hotel is perfect for a (short) stay in Vienna. Near to all forms of transportation, so getting to the city centre is no problem. Very quiet neighbourhood despite being opposite a theatre. The hotel currently has no restaurant (as under renovation), but this was not a problem for us as we wanted to eat out anyway.
I would not say the room was comfortable - it has been designed from a \"minimalist\" perspective, which although interesting design-wise, gave a rather stark appearance. E.g. wooden floor, cupboards not easy to open. Bed was ok and once we sorted the room temperature out, slept reasonably well.
Bathroom - very odd design. There was a shelf across the entire wall space from the bath, across the sink and loo. Because it was over the sink, you had to be careful not to bash your head when brushing your teeth! And the shower was on the side of the bath, not the end - so felt a bit cramped.

Caution: still ironing out opening issues

I stayed in early July 2016 just after the hotel reopened as a Mecure. It's clear the hotel & staff have a way to go before meeting guest expectation of a 4-star hotel.

To start, the renovations were not done, nor was any work progressing during my stay. The current lobby does not match the photos the hotel is using. Hallways and other parts of the public areas are not yet complete. The room renovations are complete and well-done, however some of the rooms may be missing amenities (as I discovered after being moved). Quality between rooms is inconsistent; one might have a bathroom plug, another not. One might have the hot & cold water reversed while the other is missing its fridge (and staff don't care).

I had to have the hotel switch my room after two uncomfortable nights. The night manager lied about the room's issue & ignored my complaint, while the day manager immediately addressed the problem. The second room ended up having an issue, and each again raising a complaint to evening staff was met with complete resistance; I felt treated like I was the problem for expecting to be comfortable.

It's hard to rate the hotel staff because interactions between members was night and day. While all pleasant, one member was amazing and another lied to my face and refused to fulfil simple requests. I could forgive if the effort to try was made, but it was clear the person was over their head.

The stay did not meet past Mecure experience, and I would not call this 4-star service.

Hotel is not ready for guests

Our room did not have a working television or refrigerator, even though when we booked these were included in the price. Given the heat of this time of the year the refrigerator was essential. The telephone to reception did not work, even though we were given the number to try. For the 'money' don't stay here until the hotel is established. We understand that this is a work in progress but the hotel should not be advertising what it does not offer at the prices it is charging right now. There were and are plenty of other good choices in Vienna for this price.

Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage und durch die Bahnanbindung kommt man schnell zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten von Wien. Direkt an der Mariahilfer Einkaufsstraße gelegen, gelangt man auch zu Fuß problemlos in die Innenstadt mit Museumsquartier, Hofburg, etc.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders sollte das hervorragende Frühstück erwähnt werden, das in einem liebevoll-eingerichteten Raum eingenommen werden kann.

A truly terrible experience. *The hotel's location is not good; it's far from the center and 1.5 km from the metro.
*There are no drinks in the room, even for a fee; you only get water from reception if you ask for it. One night they said they ran out of water.
*Breakfast is the same every morning; there are no additional or changing items.
*There is no area inside the hotel to sit and have a drink, and not even a smoking area outside.
*Most of the staff are impolite; they ignore you and pretend not to hear you. They have the toilet key, and even when you ask for it, they tell you to get it from somewhere else. *The hair dryer and other appliances in the room break down, and there are no additional amenities.

Hotellet OK, men jeg er ikke sikker på om det er 4 stjerner værd. Værelse ren, men desværre ikke badeværelse. Skimmelsvamp synlig i badekarrets hjørner samt på fliserne, afløbs dæksel ødelagt, tidligere brugerens lange hår ikke fjernet - simpelthen ulækker. Sidste opholds dag har rengøring taget gamle håndklæder, men ikke lagt nye på plads.
Meget smal garage indkørsel - det lykkedes at køre ind i garagen uden skader, med udkørsel kostede mig en ridset bagskærm i venstre side.
Morgenmad god - frisk brød, god kaffe, forskellige slags af pålæg, varme retter - alt som det skal være.
Receptionister flinke og hjælpsomme - jeg fik problemer med aircondition og det blev fikset rimelig hurtigt.
Der var ingen drikkevand på værelser, som jeg troede er en standard på et 4-stjerner hotel.

Chambre spacieuse mais a l'équipement qui date a besoin de rénovation salle de bains ancienne peu de pression eau baignoire datée clim en panne la dernière nuit avec 32 degrés dehors ! réceptionniste de nuit nous réveillé a 4h du matin et prétend que nous avons fumé dans la chambre et qui s'en va sans s'excuser après avoir quasi forcé notre porte pour vérifier dommage hôtel idéalement placé proche métro a 5mn petit déjeuner copieux et frais garage dispo quoique cher a 20euros par nuit et très très étroit

Das Personal ist super freundlich. Das Frühstück auch gut. Aber in den Zimmern hat der Teppich Risse. Und das Bad ist auch schon in die Jahre gekommen. Ich war vor zwei Monaten schon mal da und in dem Zimnmer in dem ich damals war, war es genau so. Aber nachdem ich im Zimmer ja eh nicht viel Zeit verbringe würde ich das Hotel trotzdem wieder wählen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist gut, man ist recht schnell am Westbahnhof, U-Bahn Margarete Gürtel und Mariahilfer Straße.
Ich hatte zwei Zimmer gebucht.
Die Bäder sind schon ordentlich in die Jahre gekommen. In einem Bad gab es mehre defekte Teile, wie z. B. lose Handtuch Stange an der Badewanne.
Im selben Zimmer klebte ein alter Kaugummi auf dem Teppich.
Der Frühstücksraum war fast immer eiskalt (unangenehm).
Fürs Frühstück war eigentlich alles da. Jedoch waren an zwei Tagen die Eierspeisen kalt bzw. nur lauwarm. Und für das auffüllen der Gläser am Saftspender (wenn keine mehr da wären) fühlte sich auch nicht wirklich jemand verantwortlich.

Die Zimmer sind an sich sehr schön. Aber man merkt auch gerade am Bad das es schon in die Jahre gekommen ist. Da sollte vielleicht mal was gemacht werden. Trotzdem würde ich immer wieder dort absteigen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sind gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Frühstück war gut. Alles da was man braucht.

The hotel is good in general. My only problem was the parking. I asked where to park, but the receptionist said that anywhere on the streets. But as it was a national holiday, all the streets were full. So we had to park 2 streets away. Even if the hotel has garage, we were not offered to use is, however, we would pay for it. For me it's not clear, if the hotel has garage.

Experience correcta a nivel general pero pesima en cuanto al descanso por la noche. Se escucha cualquier ruido del hotel (puertas de asensor, pasos de otros inquilinos...). Pero lo peor es sin duda que llovío en una de las dos noches que estuve allí. El ruido de las gotas sobre las ventanas de aluminio fue una molestia constante, cosa que no me había pasado en ningún hotel, y mucho menos en un Mercure. Deberían de mejorar la insonorización de las habitaciones.

Das dieses Hotel mit 4-Sternen wirbt und sich auf der Expedia Seite so gut wirbt ist für mich unverständlich. Ich bin bisher schon echt oft herumgekommen aber dieses Hotel war mit Abstand das schlechteste was die Sauberkeit, den Service und die Ausstattung angeht.

Nagyon kedves volt a fogadtatas, a szemelyzet nagyon kedves, tobben beszelnek magyarul is. Csendes utcaban van, de a kozlekedes es egyeb infrastruktura kivalo, konnyen elerhetoek a latnivalok. Legkozelebb is itt tervezzuk a szallasunkat.

Excelente opção em Viena

O quarto estava extremamente limpo. Todos os protocolos de segurança e higiene em relação ao COVID foram seguidos. Na primeira noite passamos muito calor, e ao solicitar que verificassem um possível problema no ar condicionado, nos foi informado que a central só era ligada a partir de julho, mas que poderiam providenciar um ventilador. Quando chegamos no quarto à noite, para nossa agradável surpresa, o ar condicionado estava ligado, o que melhorou muito a qualidade do nosso sono. A única coisa que não nos agradou muito foi o travesseiro, mas de resto estava tudo perfeito! O hotel fica a 30 minutos à pé do centro, uma caminhada muito agradável.

Tolles modernes Hotel

Gefallen hat mir das Zimmer, sehr großzügig modern ausgestattet.
Das Frühstück war umfangreich und lecker. Derzeit Jul. gibt es leider eine Baustelle gegenüber vom Hotel an der Straße was den Aufenthalt zwischen 15 und ca. 18 Uhr recht unangenehm macht.
Ansonsten super. Im 6. Stock sieht man sogar etwas über die anderen Gebäude und hat einen Ausblick auf die Stadt.

Die Parkgarage war leider zu eng um nicht sorhenfrei rausfahren zu können. Der Preis hierfür war daher auch nicht angemessen.

Alles in allem ein schönes Hotel und sehr zu empfehlen.

Hotel mal ubicado, estación de metro cercana pero grupo de pandilleros en la entrada con muy mala facha, el tipo de la recepción súper mal encarado y grosero, recepción del hotel pequeña pero linda, cuarto del hotel pequeño lo dejan con la calefacción muy alta, el desayuno buffet me pareció muy caro!

Iso siisti huone, hyvä siivous, rauhallista, hyvä ilmastointi, toimiva kylpyhuone, säilytystilaa vaatteille, tavaroille, myös kylppärissä. Hyvät sängyt ja tyynyt, tallelokero ym. luvatut varusteet, hyvä sijainti, metroasema lähellä. Ainoa negatiivinen asia oli huono yleisvalaistus huoneessa. Huone oli toimiva myös pidemmällä majoituksella.
