I was unaware that this hotel charged per person, and I was dismayed when I had to pay an extra €150 because my husband was there - but they didn’t change my room… I’m confused what the extra money is for. A female at the front desk was unreasonably cold, and made us wonder what attracted her to the hospitality field. We are not going back to this hotel.

Overall this property was mostly good. The location is perfect. The beds and rooms were tidy and equipped with everything you would expect from any respectable hotel. The view from the windows were spectacular. The breakfast was very thorough. And the gym was a nice touch. The only issue was the air conditioning which was just not to the standard one would expect for the price and of a hotel of this standard. In fairness we stayed during the hottest part of the year and it got to 37 degrees celsius. However, even on the \"cooler\" days the air con was ineffective only blowing a mere draft not even a cool one just some air into the room. This detracted from what would have been an otherwise fantastic stay. Overall if you're not staying during summer I would recommend but if during summer seek alternatives.

The hotel is in a good location to visit Vienna. The train station is 5-8 minutes away in one direction, and the tram is 3 minutes away in the opposite direction.
The hotel room was a good size for two people, and the bed was comfortable. The soundproofing prevented the traffic noise from disturbing my sleep. I didn't eat in the hotel resturant or use the bar as I was taken out by family who live here to local resturants.

When I checked into the hotel, I was really disappointed with the cleanliness and service. There was hair on the folded robe in my room, and I even found a used toothbrush behind the bathroom door, which made it clear the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. I asked reception for hand soap, and they said someone would bring it up, but no one ever did. I also emailed reception about these issues, but no one responded. When I went to the front desk in person, they promised the manager would contact me, but I never heard back. It’s been really frustrating and far below the standards I expected.

The staff wasn't friendly and gave me and my partner a hard time regarding paying parking and using the gold member voucher. I as a guest don't need to know what the deal the hotel has with expedia nor do I care if they agree with it or not. If they don't like the deal they have with expedia/hotels.com then remove the hotel from their website. Giving guests an unpleasant experience because of this shouldn't be the way to go.

There was mold on the walls in my bedroom, the lamp didn’t work, the tub had rust stains and the stopper didn’t work either. The sauna was out of service my entire stay and the area is probably the worst part of Vienna. At least the breakfast was good.

I recently stayed at the ARCOTEL Wimberger Hotel in Vienna and found it to offer an average hotel experience. The amenities and service were about what you would expect from a mid-range hotel. The room itself was basic with standard furnishings and decor - nothing fancy but adequate for a comfortable stay.

However, the breakfast offered at the hotel was outstanding. There was a wide variety of breads, pastries, fruits, yogurts, eggs, meats and other hot items at the extensive breakfast buffet. The servers were also exceptional - very friendly, attentive and quick to refill coffee or clear plates. The breakfast made up for any other average aspects of the hotel.

Overall, the ARCOTEL Wimberger is a solid, standard hotel choice in Vienna. While the rooms and amenities are average, the stellar breakfast and great service in the morning make this hotel stand out. It's a good option if you want a convenient location in the city and don't need luxurious accommodations as long as you get a great start to your day with their breakfast.

The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and approachable. We were upgraded to a modern room on the 6th floor which had great decor and SUPER comfy beds. One small gripe was our room smelled strongly of smoke when we first opened it which could have been remedied by opening the windows during the clean but the smell left the room upon us opening the windows ourselves. The shower was powerful and clean.

Our only issue with the hotel was the cleaning. The room itself was clean, but the cleaning schedule was so irregular. The hotel have a great option where you can go a day without a clean and they donate to a local bee project. We put the bee hangar on our door to signal we didn’t need a clean but staff still came in and changed our towels. Then, the following day we DID want a full clean; we came back to our hotel at 4.30pm to rest before dinner and then had a knock at the door for house keeping… we found this odd, as when we’d left our room that morning the cleaning team were already on our floor. We declined the clean as we were back in our rooms then so saw little point. Then, the following day we tried again. We came back to our hotel at 6pm to get ready to dinner to find our rooms door wide open whilst the cleaner was in our bathroom, finishing a clean. She had the door closed in the bathroom but had left the door to our room wide open; our issue with this, aside from the late cleaning time again preventing us from entering the room, and anyone could have walked

Room is not 4-star by any means, more like a 2-star/
Old carpets, noisy heating system, outdated bathroom similar to a 2-star hotel for quality, no bidet as shown in the hotel pics. No fridge.

Advertised on Expedia as having a pool, no pool of course.
SPA area is outdated with lukewarm jacuzzi water,
The hotel bar was closed, for months if not mistaken.

Read some other reviews with similar comments and replies from the hotel were basically nonsense for a 4-star.

To summarize, the hotel is nice overall, breakfast is very well made. Room quality is far away from a 4 star hotel like a 2 star one, old outdated just ugly overall and they should not advertise the hotel as a 4 star at all.

Staff, asked what are the parking rules in Vienna and got 2 different answers, shall I say more?

Such a big hotel and they have a big bar where u could relax but it’s shut also where u can sit and relax smokers are there no thought fir us smokers Most of the smokers are chain smokers we have to go sit in our room. The location of the hotel is great. It’s only 5 minutes walk from the metro station, which is also connected to the bus station and train station. The big bus tour stop is about 10 minutes walk by Ibis Hotel. The breakfast is amazing. It comes with a variety of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to change our old room on request. The old room we got first had an old carpet and a malfunctioning thermostat (which continued to heat up the room). The new room had an upgraded furniture, new carpet and better working thermostat. The downside of the rooms is absence of coffee maker and electric kettle for hot water. The main elevators need an upgrade as well. Several times the doors would close immediately right in front of my face separating me from the rest of the family. There is no automatic sensors.

Good transport links only a few minutes walk away. Stayed in a comfort room, which turns out is their basic room. In saying that it IS still supposed to be a 4 star hotel but there are zero tea and coffee facilities in the room, no fridge or mini bar, an aircon that is basically useless as the central temperature is controlled by the hotel. Room was hot, when we asked if they could do anything, staffs answer is to shrug their shoulders, told us they have set the temperature for winter (temp was in the 20s outside, winter? I think not) and told us to open the windows. We’re in a room on the 1st floor facing the main road, no one could sleep through that noise.

We won’t be back.

The hotel is nice and well kept. Everybody is very helpful. It's really close to the metro station, one to the right and one to the left. We used the one on the left ( leaving the hotel ) and there is a mall just across the street. We found there a nice pasta / pizza place and there is also a grocery store on the bottom floor. We got a two room place and it was very nice to have all that space. They have a fussball machine and a Xbox. Breakfast was pretty good, plenty of hot and cold food.

The front desk found that our room was booked at a different branch of their hotel chain, but she was very accommodating and worked quickly to get pur room switched to the correct location. The staff are helpful and try their best to help. The restaurant is clean and generally serves good quality food.
The rooms however are in a bad shape and have not been renovated in a very long time, I got two small size beds attached to each other instead of the king size bed which was requested. the air conditioner was blowing hot air despite several requests to fix it, at the end I had to settle for a table fan, which did not help much, in summary I could not sleep well both nights.
Once you step into the corridor, the smell of the entire floor was so bad that without exaggeration smelled like used socks, most probably coming the rugs.
I am Very surprised with the hotel condition as I have stayed there before and it was not the case.

The public areas are quite impressive. Our room, a classic deluxe, not the Superior room we had booked, was drab and noisy. The sparse décor was reminiscent of an office store room. We were given free breakfast to compensate for the inferior room. A nice gesture on the part of the duty manager. Despite my Expedia gold status and this being a so called VIP property, at no point was this acknowledged, despite me discussing the booking as we checked in. No offers or extras were proffered at any point in our stay. I really can't see the point of your VIP hotel system and will not seek such properties out in the future. A very disappointing stay.

Arcotel Wimberger is not what was advertised. This hotel needs many updates. We have stayed there for over a week and our experience was nothing what you would expect from many other Austrian hotels. Air conditioning does not work when the outside temperature reaches over 25 degrees Celsius. The premier rooms are right under the roof and the temperature in summer reaches unhealthy conditions from 8 AM in the morning. Lower rooms have windows which open either in the direction of a very busy intersection or into a courtyard filled with smoking and loud students from the dorms across. Breakfast is from 6 to 10 AM and the service can't turn tables fast enough after buses loaded with one night visitors. This hotel does not look anything like the pictures presented by Travelocity. The location of the hotel is convenient, right on tram lines and subway line and there is a supermarket Billa right next to the hotel. Those are 2 main advantages but if you plan on spending even one summer day in this hotel you better get ready for no AC and plenty of noise all night long. Room service is quite strange. They dictate what you had enough already. Instead of refilling liquid soap bottle they will remove it and leave you with a tiny soap bottle on the counter. You need to ask them to refill the bottle. Carpet in the hallway on the fifth floor has holes the size of dinner plates but nobody is bothered by them. Front desk is beaten up and scratched as well as all white walls in this hotel.

It deserves 4 stars but can still improve. Staff were very friendly and professional. Good quality varied hot and cold breakfast though you pay for it at 18 euros. The fitness area and sauna is a nice feature, but could use more equipment and is mainly cardio machines with only a chest press for strength training. The mattress was a bit too soft, so consider carefully if you have back problems. I would expect a better quality mattress at this level. I will still consider to stay here again next visit to the city.

Bad check in, really unhelpful staff and not friendly in the slightest. Staff on check out were friendlier though! We had 2 rooms with single beds even though we booked king rooms. After going to reception about this we were told that they don't have king rooms. Why advertise they do if they don't? The beds were really uncomfortable, like sleeping on a bouncy castle! Rooms really hot and air conditioning nowhere near powerful enough to change this. All in all, very dated rooms and corridors. Hot tub too cold on the first day and then really hot the next! Engineer was called and it eventually cooled down enough to get in without burning! Close to metro with good links to city centre.

The hotel itself is affordable and has a lot of potential, but there were too many issues during my stay that affected the overall experience, and left me with bad impression.

The pros:
- Good location, close mariahilfer straße, mall & public transportation.
- Excellent breakfast that is worth the money
- The spa/gym is great.

The cons:
- Staff wasn't efficient
- The room was basic, no microwave/coffee machine/other kitchen appliances that tend to be in similar hotel in this standard or even lower, air conditioning doesn't cool, sofa bed was not comfortable, not enough pillows, not-comfortable pillows.
- The hotel itself is clean and seems to be maintained but it seems they are either redecorating it (4th floor for instance) or just chose to skip it.

This hotel is fine for a few nights in Vienna. It is near a big tram stop and some good restaurants so it’s a pretty good location and better price than downtown. It’s in need of a little TLC. For example our room was a little plain but the bed was comfy so it did the trick. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was for the jacuzzi/hot tub which was out of service for our whole stay. The restaurant seems okay and we had drinks one night at the bar and the bar tender was very friendly. The staff was great but the hotel needs some updating tobe considered 4 star because right now I’d rate it a 3 star hotel.

Front desk staff seem very unhelpful. They want to give you the minimum answer to any question you ask them & seem like your bothering them. There are NO wash cloths at this property and the pillows are very thin & small feather pillows, no other option, there are no clocks in the rooms. The Breakfast is wonderful with many hot & cold options. The sauna & hot tub were nice at the end of a busy day.

Convenient for access, but with some drawbacks.

Positives: The rooms are of a good size, comfortable and quiet. The hotel is situated 500 yards from the Westbahnhof underground station, affording easy access to the city centre and other tourist areas.

Negatives: The restaurant is poor and the breakfasts expensive. Other options in the immediate area are extremely limited. Internet connectivity is somewhere between slow and non-existent at busy times.

Great location and we were able to access anyplace we wanted to go via public transport. The breakfast was great and substantial and the staff were all very cordial. We had a tremendous room with a balcony that was a real bonus. The Wifi was also very strong.

Reception staff were pleasent and helpful

Room was clean and quite well apointed.

Beds (large, twin, together) were firm, but comfortable

Room (Superior) was on 6th floor, and looked onto inner space, so had no view, but was reasonably quiet (no traffic noise, just some girls in a lower room, obviously having a good time, sat in front of an open window), but OK with the window shut

Aircon in room worked to some extent, but not very efficient

Bathroom was OK. Very clean, but shower tended to flood the floor unless you were careful.

Minibar is provided but very expensive. (€5.80 for a small bottle of water, or €5.20 for a small beer or 1/3 bottle of wine). Thankfully there is a small supermarket next door & a 'Subway' just across the street if you want to provide you own.

Breakfast is extensive, catering for every taste, and well presented, but was very busy, with people having to wait for a table.

Hotel location is fairly good, about 1.5km from city center but only about 400m from Westbahnhof station (underground to city center & elsewhere), and there is a tram stop almost outside

Good location for easy tram and train stops. The road outside was a bit noisy but our room was a good size with a nice comfy bed

Nice hotel, unfortunate that the air conditioning didn’t work in the first room and barely worked when we got moved but third time lucky! Jessica and Michelle were brilliant in helping us with this! Nice restaurant and good location for metro.

Clean spacious rooms

5 min walk from train station and airport bus. Clean spacious rooms with comfortable bed. More like a 3 star than four. Could of had a tea and coffee making facilities and or fridge. No complimentary bottle of water just one left with a price tag on it.

Nice hotel close to train station & dining places

My teen and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. We found the location is very convenient, 1 min walk to train station from hotel, 5 mins walk to shopping areas and mini market around the corner, Subway right opposite to the hotel which opens till 11pm. My teen loved the salad there. Wide choices of eating places within 5 mins. Less than 15 mins to old town by train. Close to hop-on -off Vienna sightseeing bus stop. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Comfortable air conditioning lobby is good particularly important during the heatwave period. WiFi is stable. Pleasant stay in general.

Standard hotel, close to train station

First room the shower wasn’t working. Asked to be moved to a better room, but instead got moved into a much smaller room, with no air con and dirty towels and bathroom matt. Hotel services didn’t clean room properly the next day, and the corridors had a very bad smell. Only good thing was it was close to tram station.

Decent hotel however a bit disappointed

We are a bit disappointed with the customer services. It was totally unacceptable that only one lift, out of three available, was in use. The dogs were allowed to sit by the table in the breakfast area/restaurant which was unthinkable. Also prices for food and drinks were quite high. The waiter assisting the guests during breakfast was really nice/polite which is on a positive side.

Not a 4star hotel more like 3star.

I reserved extra comfort room so called deluxe for additional payment, received worn out room in different floor than promised with not very well working air condition. Will never come back again. Only good thing about this hotel is breakfast

Near the metro station

Nice weather during June . The hotel is very near to a metro station and a supermarket BILA.

We can walk to a street of shops in 5 to 8 mins.

a/c not working, strange smell in the room. Some staff in the morning at the reception are nice but evening staff are rude and present incorrect facts,eg. they said that a/c has been repaired but the next day another staff confirmed that it is still not working.

Arcotel has excellent standards. Just unfortunate at our stay that the air-con was defect in the whole hotel and as it was very hot during our stay in vienna, very uncomfortable to sleep in a hot room. We had to open our windows.
But besides that it was excellent.
