This timeshare is a joke by timeshare standards, which are very low. Then forced to pat $10 a day for slow internet, and no parking within 100 yards of my room!!! Terrible!

Excellent room. I had the one bedroom apartment. Brand new, King bed, new furniture, full kitchen with full sized fridge, living room, dining table, fireplace, large balcony with ourdoor table and chairs.. Very quite and safe. Right on a golf course and walking distance (6 min walk) to grocery store and restaurants. I read other reviews of no phone or front desk staff, but there was a phone and 24 hour friendly front desk staff. Only about a 8 min drive to Talking Stick. I will be staying here again.

1. Room phone not opperable to discuss loud neighbors with front desk. (No security).
2. Room photos show a stove top in on-line photos. (Day before Thanksgiving we needed this feature).
3. No elevator, I am over 64 this should have been stated as an option somewhere prior to purchase. (Not in \"Our section\" of the facility).
4. Very noisy till 2am, with no working line to the front desk, or number on which to request security. (Welcome packet had no number, to call if you have an issue with other guests). I'll call 911 from here on out, let the police sort this out with the so called management. Room was clean, bedding above average, management was under staffed and second rate.

I went there with my father for the Phoenix open we love the accommodations the staff was wonderful the only issues were the limited service of fresh towels so if you went to the pool and needed to get a shower in the same day you had ever use your towel and the Jacuzzi was in operable

Anniversary getaway

For an anniversary getaway, we were disappointed. We had to call for housekeeping right away to remove a condom. Ugh! There were not enough towels for two people. We asked and did receive them. After that first time housekeeping came, they never came back to straighten the bedroom nor pick up dirty towels. In the sitting room, the couch was extremely uncomfortable and very old. Also, the website's pictures and descriptions do not match reality.

On the positive side, loved the size of the suite and the bed was relatively comfortable. Nick and Janice were very nice. Sad to say we won't be staying there again.

We arrived to a very dated hotel that did not have the amenities their website said they had. Our room was old and in the back although the entire place was practically vacant. When we addressed the issues with the front desk, we were told they didn't know what was in their website so we showed them. They said it was false advertising, no restaurant, no bar, old rooms with no microwaves or DVD players unless we asked for them. Weeds growing by the pool, so we cancelled our last 2 nights & moved immediately to a Hyatt. Luckily the manager refunded our 2 nights probably to shut us up since she said she \"couldn't build us a place to eat\". In short, don't waste your money because you will leave feeling cheated & blamed for trusting the Scottsdale Resort & Athletic Clubs website. Bait & switch at its best!

It was the worst experience I have had. The couple next door got into a rousing fight at 3am and police were called. The next day they burned grease in their room and my room smelled like brunt oil when I got there at 930 pm. I did not feel safe.

Not a \"Resort\" but a good hotel

In reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about staying here but my experience was good. It's called a resort but it's not a place where you could just stay at all day and be entertained like a true \"Resort\"
But, I relaxed by the pool for a few hours, they have tennis courts and a gym and my room was fine. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet.

The bed in our room was comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean. However, the room was very dark, as the only window looked onto a storage room in the corridor, there was one desk chair and no other options for seating and the carpeting was buckled, allowing for a tripping hazard.

This is my favorite place to stay in Scottsdale. It is almost a secluded little get away in a great part of town. The staff is awesome! They are always so friendly and they make you feel right at home. I recommend this resort highly to anyone who is vacationing in Scottsdale, AZ!

I stayed here for 3 nights while attending a conference in the area. The rooms and grounds were very nice and well maintained with lots of amenities. The staff were very nice and friendly. They provided great customer service. This is more of a family business than a chain and the atmosphere is very laid back. I felt very much at home while staying here and recommend this hotel!

Great Value, 3.5-4 star

This place is near nice restaurants, a casino, and the freeway. The room is large. Full Kitchen, dinning area, living room, and separate bedroom. It even has washing machine and dryer. Great place if you're travelling with family, or even for a weekend getaway. Only issue was lack of on site dining. It did also seem a little lonely there. Water pressure was weak. The bathrooms were really nice otherwise- had a big whirpool tub and shower. All things considered, 3.5-4 stars. I'd go back- especially since the price is nice there.

When we walked in the room we were surprised at how big it was. Nice kitchen, LARGE dining/living room with a fireplace, bedroom is a separate room with a large bathroom. There was a sliding glass door and a nice little patio right next to the pool which looked great. Overall the place was clean. The glasses in the cupboard were NOT clean, I always wash glasses myself before using in any type of hotel anyway. It isn't the fanciest place if you want fancy, the towels were small and thin (I mentioned to my girlfriend that I know a lot of people that the towels wouldn't fit around) but the location was great for what we needed and the room size was great. We had our friends over before going out for New Years Eve and the space was great.
The only complaint I have is that the shampoo and lotion bottles looked like they had been used because there was shampoo and lotion coming out the sides of the caps and they didn't feel full so luckily I had my own.
Overall a nice place, it would be a great place to spend the weekend with the kids with the large rooms and the grounds looked nice.

Stayed here one night on NYE in a one bedroom villa. It was like a small one bedroom apartment so it was very spacious. The furniture is a little outdated and they need to get rid of the scratchy comforter on the bed. Spacious bathroom with deep soaking tub and the fireplace is a great benefit. The place was rather deserted (about 5 cars in the parking lot) so it was quiet. Overall I was happy but would prob stay elsewhere in Scottsdale if I go back, just to be around a more lively area.

Nice, clean, affordable hotel in north Scottsdale

I chose this hotel because it was in north Scottsdale, affordable, had a king size bed, restaurant & bar. Unfortunately, the restaurant/bar had not reopened from summer closure (we were there in October). The pool and other amenities looked nice; we were there for family healthcare, so we didn't get to take advantage. The room was comfortable; it is an older hotel, but it suited our needs perfectly.

Worst night ever

This hotel appeared to be very nice. It was quiet with not very many guests. The problems started after my daughter had visited the pool and decided to shower before going to dinner. When we turned on the shower the smell was so awful that we rinsed off quickly and got out. We bought bottled water because we were afraid to drink the water. Each time the water was turned on the room was filled with a foul rotten egg smell. Later, at about 2 or 3 in the morning we had the pleasure of listening to the night manager have a full blown argument with one of the other guests. The commotion was so loud that it woke both my daughter and I out of a sound sleep. We were tempted to call the police but then realized the argument involved hotel management. The next morning when we checked out and reported all these issues we were told the management would contact us to reimburse us in some way. Guess what, it's been more than 2 weeks and no contact. So much for this 5 star hotel.

Workable hotel. Nothing extravagant.

Arrived after a nightmare travel day. (US Airway) Matt upgraded my room which was nice. It took me awhile to find it. When I did it was basement and dark. I returned to the lobby and Matt quickly and kindly put me in a 2 floor sunny room looking towards the pool.
Not a very active property. Quiet and dark.
I went to the pool a couple of times. No one was there. I was there Sunday thru Thursday though. So it may have just been an off time of week. They are currently renovating there restaurant? So the convenience of food or better coffee was not an option. I traveled to get better coffee every morning and of course food when it was mealtime. So probably don't stay here if you do not have transportation. At least while the restaurant is being renovated. The pool and the pool furniture was older and covered in tree debree. Hardly something they could help of course. The second time I went to the pool there were not any towels. I called the lobby and they right away brought towels to the pool. The room was comfortable. and my overall stay was good. I would probably seek out a more active, resort type place for next time.

Do not book, this is not a resort

The worst resort in Scottsdale! I was highly disappointed when I arrived. It is nothing like the online pictures or description.
Empty parking lot was the first sign that this was not a popular place. Front desk employee was rude, cocky and unfriendly. When I asked question about the amenitities, he got defensive & condescending. He said, \"the online sites lie about this place in order to get people to book it\". The manger was in the office & she never corrected or made the situation better.
The worst part was the hotel room - It is small, smelly, dirty, outdated with a creepy atmosphere. This place is not a resort status environment. My total stay time here was 2 minutes. I immediately called Hotels.com cancelled my reservations, asked for a refund & walked out.

OMG, what a disappointment!

Looking for a nice place to stay in Phoenix for three nights. Read mixed reviews on this place, but decided to take a chance. Sorry we did. Apparently they do a great business in the winter, but not so much in the summer. Last week, right before Memorial Day, we spent 3 nights there. There may have been a dozen cars total at the place. It appeared that our room had not been cleaned after the last occupants, as there was a used makeup sponge on the floor, hair in the sink, dust everywhere, and even what appeared to be dried blood on the edge of the bedspread. Paid in advance, or we would have immediately gone elsewhere. On check-in, we were surprised to learn that the restaurant was \"closed for the summer\" and other facilities were limited.

Very impressed by the Scottsdale resort, the staff were so friendly from the moment we went to check in, the rooms are a very decent size and the pool area is perfect. Everything was clean and the parking is right outside your room. Will defiantly stay here again when I visit Scottsdale, and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Phoenix.

Only one complaint- I find it extremely annoying when I stay in hotels where the TV is programmed to always turn on to the Fox News cable station. No matter what channel I had it on when I turned the TV off, I am greeted with a panel of loud, obnoxious jerks bashing Hillary Clinton and/or Barack Obama 24 hours a day. It is certainly not a news station, and I don't appreciate the hotel management or ownership group setting that station as the default! If there has to be a default station, it ought to be the weather channel or something that won't be offensive to half of your guests!

Other than that everything was great! The employees were friendly and helpful!

very poor. not as nice as a Days Inn or Motel 6. room small, dark and dingy. Bathroom did have shiny faucets but nowhere near shiny enough to justify the price and most definitely not 'posh' as described. I would most definitely not stay here again.

I was a little apprehensive when I first entered the hotel lobby. It was very spartan and somewhat reminiscent of the 1980s Holiday Inn. However, the front desk staff member was a true delight. Our villa was beautiful and very comfortable. Pool was lovely but no poolside service, the cocktail tiki hut was empty, no music. No people! The dining room had a $10 minimum per person; not sure about the bar. The dining room was located in a different building. Very inconvenient. Couldn't even get a cup of coffee in the morning unless you made it yourself in the room. I don't think they offered room service.

Clean hotel, but noisy

The room was clean and the location was convenient, but there were only like 10 rooms sold while I was there and it was still very noisy. The rooms have exterior doors, which I would prefer, but the walls and doors are so thin you can hear everything. I could even hear the road noise and this hotel does not sit right on the road. The athletic club was nice, but a lot of people were playing tennis early in the morning and my room was right by the tennis court. You could hear everything. Other than the noise it was a decent hotel.

To be fair, I was only there for 7hours (8pm to 3am) So I cannot tell you about the facilities, only the room. I'm from LA, so I am kind of a hotel snob. I expect a little bit more when a business puts \"resort\" in their name. The tub was sub par, the room felt like it was from 1980. My door faced parking and all night someone was talking outside and the sound carried very well into the room. (I have no idea if there was security) I had asked for a cab at 4:15am, but when I called about it they didn't have the info. It all worked out though. The staff was very friendly & helpful, rooms were very clean. But I won't be back.

This resort is more like a motel. Pictures do not tell the truth. The hotel was short on staff. The overall condition of the site was terrible. The pool was dirty, the hot tub had to be emptied and refilled. The conditions around the pool such as lounge/chairs in poor faded condition. They only have 10 lounge chairs, two of them with broken arms. They did not clean around the pool first thing in the morning. Towels and chairs were in disarray around the pool. One morning one of the lounge chairs was in the middle of the pool. Dishes were left on a table for three days before being picked up. Every guess I spoke to said the same thing, they would not return. So bad had to call for toilet paper twice, like they did not have supplies to restock room. Have pictures to back up what I said.

When my executive checked into the hotel and went to room he found women's under ware hanging from the ceiling fan and additional unsavory things about the room. He was shocked since it was highly recommended from another resort we do business with and needed overflow. I was embarrassed to have booked this resort property and will never use this hotel again.

got off plane couldn't even check in for 3 hours and restaurant not even open till after 11 . service very slow took over hour to get food and I was only one there. no organization room very unattractive creepy area. only thing good was pool area was beautiful. this place was not worth so much money. spa wasn't great either 80 dollars for woman to roll a hot stone on my feet for 30 minute I would never stay here again this is no resort the description online is not correct at all this is no condominium resort

The room was very small with barely enough room to get around the king sized bed. I'mThere were no pictures on the walls, no trash can in the room, no clock, the bedside table lamps did not work, and the linens were of very poor quality. Although there was a coffee maker, there was only decaf. The bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine, the light over the bath tub did not work, there was no kleenex. The restaurant was so understaffed that the piano player from the combo seated us. After 15 minutes we did not have menus or water so we left.

Not worth the time or money

The check-in was a nightmare. They didn't have the reservation from Hotels.com and claimed to not know what to do with the confirmation number. They then claimed that they called Hotels.com and the reservation was cancelled. I then had to pay the rack rate to stay the night. However, I'm now seeing two room charges for that same night showing on my credit card statement, leaving me with a mess to clean up. For all of this, the place was little more than a refurbished low-end motel. To top it off, the restaurant was closed.

Bottom line: Stay someplace else for a little more money. This place is not worth the hassle or inconvenience.

Disappointed

Really disappointing. This is a glorified motel not a spa resort. Drive up rooms, thin walls. Nothing fancy or compelling about it. Grounds and facilities lack modern comforts and not close to anything. Big mistake on my part. Would be ok for 129 a night 200+ is crazy.

Nice staff, just didnt dress like staff. Good room, except thin walls so heard next door room and smelled everything they ate. Nice bathroom except tub wouldn't drain appropriately

Won't stay again till they have door locks

I had a nice stay because the meals were amazing. If not for John, I would not have much good to say. The hotel itself is right out of the 70's with no updates. Who puts two pillows on a king size bed? The sheets were questionable, but the internet works well and the room is otherwise fine. Don't go in the lobby if you can help it.

However, the restaurant and spa is amazing, and John's food is a delight. A real chef with a great menu. He went out of his way to accommodate my strict dietary needs, with a fabulous meal that I will always have fond memories of!

If security is not an issue for you, it's worth it to stay there and eat at the OC SEVEN restaurant.

Not resort- motel is better name

Expecting a resort stay is misleading. room small and only one chair, blinds let bright security light into room, only one pillow on king bed, shower head ancient; awoken every morning by extremely loud housekeeping who yelled and banged on doors. I asked them to wait to clean- they literally waited outside my door. I thought there was a flock of geese but it was squeaky wheels on their cart. NO joke. athletic center was only decent part of stay.

Old Holiday Inn

It was advertised as completely renovated, I would hate to see it before the work was done. Its just your standard old holiday inn. Room was old and dirty. Staff was great and helpful. For the money stay somewhere else.

Was not happy with the shower. I had NO HOT WATER. Showered COLD water. Food at OC7 service SUCKS! food terrible and services VERY terrible.

No coffee machine and so close to the tennis courts I got to listen to kids yell at each other on the courts until 10 pm. Small rooms. I did not use the spa facilities so maybe that is why the price was high for the area.

Overall, it was nice. They only had me down for one night (instead of the three I had signed up for), but they fixed that right away. My biggest issue was the thermostat. I'd set the a/c to 68 degrees, and it would begin cooling the room but then arbitrarily start blowing lukewarm air after a couple hours. SO every two hours, I had to wake up in the 80-degree room to go mess with the thermostat.

nice enough hotel

Our overall experience was fine. Hotel was practically empty so we asked for an upgrade (hoping it would be free) but we were informed we could pay for a larger room. Standard room is very small, although the bathroom was larger than expected. The room was stocked with only 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel. Good location, but not really within walking distance to any nicer restaurants.

The standard king size room we booked was not available so they upgraded us to a villa. It was beautiful, spacious, and quiet. The facilities are very very nice.

Nice hotel - centrally located. Staff exceptional!

Staff quite helpful. Room was basic - getting a but dated but clean and comfortable. Pool area beautiful but disappointed that pool was not heated. Only other criticism was extremely slow intenet connections. Otherwise, great value for the price.
