Yikes. We were on the second floor and it was rough. The hallway is comically creepy and our room had a 12” diameter wet moldy spot on the ceiling.
Otherwise the room was ok and the bed was fine. Bathroom fan was horrendously loud.
Don’t plan on breakfast - the “spread” was laughable.
Location is great, actually.
Thought we were getting a deal at $147 but definitely not worth that.

Friendly staff at check in. The facilities are dated and in need of an interior refresh. I actually like places that have history and character, however, it still needs to have finishes redone once and a while. The price is right and the location is convenient for Carson City so no complaints. I’d likely stay again due to the price, but it would be much better if they could update the finishes. Breakfast is only coffee and packaged oatmeal unless I missed something.

Very disappointed with my stay. The hotel appears to be in serious need of renovation and better housekeeping.
The room felt outdated and poorly maintained. The carpet was worn throughout the property, and there were signs posted acknowledging that carpet repairs and replacement were needed. The chair in my room was stained, the furniture showed significant wear, and the ironing board cover was torn and stained.
The bathroom was clean enough to use, but it was extremely dated, and the overall condition gave the impression that little investment has been made in the property for many years.
The hallways and common areas looked neglected, and the overall appearance of the hotel did not match what I expect from a professional lodging establishment. Cleanliness and maintenance are basic expectations for any hotel, regardless of price point, and this property fell short in several areas.
The staff was courteous, but the condition of the facility overshadowed the experience. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it until significant improvements are made to the rooms, carpets, furnishings, and overall upkeep. Free wine 🍷 won't fix the problems

Arrival and check in were easy. Although, it appeared someone had been sleeping in the bed we were given at check in. We were immediately assigned to a different room. Bed was new, I think. The frame had narrow metal legs and it squeaked every time we turned in bed. The mattress was ok. Breakfast is cold cereal and oatmeal packages and orange juice. There is a good breakfast/lunch diner across the street. We like the downtown location, but the hotel really needs a good make over.

No one was at the front desk. Had to ring the bell and wait a bit. My son wanted milk for his cereal in the morning that you have to get from staff and no one ever answered the bell when he rang it. The continental breakfast to me wasn’t really anything, legit dry cereal and an apple. We enjoyed the fact the building was older but things were very dated. If you want just a quick one night this place would be good but do not have high expectations for it.

The room was big and we liked that. We could choose to park at ground level or an underground garage. The fan in the bathroom was loud. Even though it said no smoking the room we smelled really badly of cigarettes. It must have been a room that was previously for smokers. It really bothered my daughter and I. I wished we had asked for a different room. The hair blower didn't work. The women at the front desk was very nice. It was nice to have a continental breakfast.

The person who helped us at the front desk was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The property was run down. Our room was less than adequate. No A/C. We had a standing fan. The lampshade was torn. The walls in the bath needed paint and the floors needed replacing. The blinds on the windows did not go up. They were stationary. Breakfast — don’t advertise!!

Room had central AC and it was not able to cool the room. Shower adjustment handle came off and staff couldn’t fix it. It was difficult to take a shower. Power plugs were pulled off for fridge and microwave at the back of wardrobe, I had to figure it out and put them back.

For the most part we enjoyed the stay. I don’t care for the time share push. My son is special needs and we were there for Dr appointments only, not for entertainment but we had to explain ourselves several times. One of the treadmills was out of order as well, we asked about when it was going to be fixed and it never got fixed while we were there so hopefully it gets taken care but other than that it was a pretty good stay

This is a quaint older hotel going through some repairs. It is very clean and the beds were comfortable. It was a good place to rest your head on a long drive.
The continental breakfast consisted of cold cereal, white toast w/ butter and jelly, orange juice,coffee, and fruit. Enough to take the edge off and get ready for another long drive.

This is a historic hotel..Opened in 1977. The condition of the hotel from inside is a little rundown. But it is not terrible. Just that it is old. AC was a problem for some. But for us evrything was just fine. Overall, not too bad.

This hotel is a mess. I do not know how expedia is even hosting this place. We rented 4 rooms, out of which one room power was totally out. The only staff working at that time couldn’t help us at all. We had to reshuffle with the remaining 3 rooms. All the other rooms had there AC not working. In fact the staff said all the room was having AC issue. There was a free breakfast but the refill was slow and the menu is poor. Overall this place is probably the worst experience I have ever had.

Amazing staff!!! Helpful and kind. The bed was comfy and the room was large. The hotel could use some updates though. It seemed outdated. The television was TINY and you had to read instructions on how to use it. That was disappointing. However, all things considered, we had a good stay and would visit Hardman House again in the future.

Dear Hardman house and Expedia,
I recently booked a room at the Hardman house through Expedia. Upon check-in, we discovered the air conditioner in our room was not working. The staff was unable to fix the issue and made no attempt to resolve it or offer us an alternative room. As a result, we checked out immediately and found accommodations elsewhere.
The front desk informed us that their policy is no refunds.
What is particularly frustrating is that when I booked the room just a few days prior, Expedia did not disclose that the property had a non-functional air conditioner. Had I known this, I would not have made the reservation.
I am extremely disappointed with both the Hartman Inn and with Expedia’s lack of transparency. Because of this experience, I will be switching to a different booking platform going forward.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter, including a full refund.

The hotel does not use a/c this time of year and the heat is still running. They do offer a box fan, but on an 80° day with the window cracked and a box fan blowing air, it was still too hot to sleep.
I did like the property and rooms, but will not stay there again this time of year. Missing out on a good nights sleep was not okay.
Also, the underground parking garage is nice, but I would prefer access from the garage onto the elevator to only work with a keycard. Anyone could get on the elevator and go straight to a guest floor potentially leading to an unsafe situation.

The biggest thing was not being let known about the bee problem they had on the north side of building. Left window open and a couple bees got in. Would have been nice to know. They seemed to know about it and forgot to mention it to us. Shower head leaked.

The room was very dirty and outdated; the air conditioning wasn't working—making the atmosphere stifling—and the carpet was filthy and worn out. Overall, the entire hotel smelled terrible. The receptionist was polite but failed to resolve the issues that made my stay so uncomfortable. My reservation was for two days and three nights, but I simply couldn't stay there under those conditions. I asked to speak with the manager to cancel my reservation and request a refund, but—surprise!—the manager never showed up. I was extremely disappointed with this place.

I checked in late and my room wasnt ready yet but they still allowed me to go in and shower for an event I was heading to. The housekeeper also changed out my towles which I appreciated but was unnecessary. I couldnt get the cable to work and the bed was really squeeky but it was comfy. I also tried to get a bigger bill broke down to leave a tip for the housekeeper and was told they dont have any small bills. So that was a little disappointing. The property is pretty dated but overall, it was quiet and clean.

This is a 1970s-era hotel in the heart of Carson City's Historic District. It has a 1970s feel in the best of ways. Though the carpet in one of the hallways is ripe for replacement and the decor is dated, I felt right at home. The staff is eminently friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the beds are soft, and the complimentary continental breakfast is ready promptly at 6am each morning.
For the price, the Hardman House Inn & Suites is a gem. I will stay here again next time I roll through town.

My reservation was for a suite. What I was placed in was what I assume was a handicap room. All dated furnishings pressed against the walls and a box fan running next to the TV. I unpacked, turned on the the AC and went to draw a bath. Surprised, there was no tub. Just a large shower with a shower curtain 8 inches from the ground. I took a short shower as there was no way to keep the water from escaping the shower. I dried the floor only to have the white towels become brown and black due to something that was left previously on the floor. Upon getting dressed the room seemed exceptionally warm. AC wasn’t functioning, hence the box fan I assumed. I opened the two windows, one missing a screen thinking room would cool when I left for dinner. Going downstairs I planned to express my concerns but front desk person was unavailable. Upon returning to hotel from dinner I returned to room. Room was still extremely warm, but I was too tired to deal with it and tried to sleep with fan moved next to bed. Next morning at checkout I expressed my concerns, to which I received “Ok, thanks”. No apology, no concern. Needless to say, but I will not return or recommend the property.

I was told no no other rooms were available and they wouldn’t give me the option of ending the reservation early even though the heat/cold was a very big problem. Overall it’s an ok place to stay in a budget for a night, but would not recommend a longer stay.

First off, they gave us a room that they already knew was on my maintenance list for a heater that was stuck on and there was a window that was broken off the track. As soon as we got into the room is was HOT and we have an infant so it was not going to work! Was told a worker would come up to fix it in 20-30 minutes waited over 5hrs and still seen no one, tried getting a new room but there was 6 other families also waiting for rooms, 10pm by this time and we decided to leave and go to the motel 8 which was much better!! Would NOT recommend this business at all, also still waiting to hear back from the manager for a refund!

The staff were wonderful as has been my experience from previous stay. Beds are amazingly comfortable and cozy. Only issues I had this stay was that the heater did not blow hot air or even warm air. Thermostat was set on heat and 85 degrees and it was still blowing cold air. The other issue was there was no hot water in the shower, it was barely luke warm. They did bring me a space heater which took the chill out of the air. It is an older building and does need some upgraded renovations

Finally said room next to us was open, only to find out that there was no heat in that room. Finally offered me 2 electric heaters to use in our room. Not very friendly and helpful.

Heat was not working during my entire 7-day stay though manager provided a space heater after the first night and seemed anxious to make things right. Rooms were otherwise stuck at 63 degrees Fahrenheit. Some rooms are partially renovated but fixtures and furniture still pretty beat up. The bed, on the other hand, was excellent. The included continental breakfast was simple but generally adequate except for day to day inconsistencies and being out of key items such as fresh fruit (apples and oranges). There were always packets of oatmeal, bread for toast, butter and jelly, and usually cartons of yogurt as well as fresh fruit, coffee and decaf.

The facility was subpar. Neither the heating nor the refrigerator worked in our room (103). Our room was never cleaned. I needed to ask the front desk for clean towels and was politely given them, but was not told until check out that if we wanted the room cleaned we needed to put in a request with the front desk. When the hot water canister in the lobby ran out of hot water I notified the front desk, but was only given a shrug. All in all, I would not return even if I was just passing through.

Really nice, spacious uniquely furnished rooms (incl both desk and table to eat at). Great tv and programming options. Sufficient amenities (coffee maker, fridge and microwave). Good covered parking option and luggage stroller option for convenience. Friendly helpful staff. Started staying w Hardman many years ago and it’s always first option I look for (unless I need a stovetop, ie extended stay) and it’s only sometimes cost differential that forces me to stay elsewhere
