I adore returning to this beautiful hotel, and when I arrived yesterday, was so happy to be welcomed by Carolina, whose customer service is so outstanding. I have visited this hotel several times, and she is truly genuine in her care for her guests. She makes you feel so welcome, and at home. It is my husbands first visit, and he adores the hotel. The entire staff is exceptional-we are so grateful to have found this beautiful hotel in Spiez

The Belvedere Hotel in Spiez is a beautiful, clean property with stunning Lake Thun views and friendly staff. However, room cleaning was subpar—hair and garbage remained on beds and floors, and sheets weren’t changed despite opting for daily service. The green initiative is great, but cleanliness shouldn’t suffer. The steep hike to the town/train station was tough with luggage, and missing the paid shuttle led to a 50 CHF Uber ride. A solid hotel, but housekeeping and accessibility issues drop it to 3.5/5 stars.

Perfect lakeside stay

Wonderful location, beautiful views on the lake, mountains and castle. I loved being able to walk down the lake each morning for a swim, using the hotel's access and facilities (dressing room, toilet) right on the lakeside.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with outstanding staff!

This is my second visit to this beautiful hotel! When I arrived yesterday, I was warmly greeted by Carolina, who remembered me from my stay in February. Her customer service is truly outstanding, and she made me feel so welcome. The room was ready, and I was overwhelmed with joy with the beauty of my room, with a beautiful view of the lake. Hotel Belvedere has a lovely lido, where you can sunbathe n enjoy swimming in the lake. The pool and wellness center is gorgeous. The staff is amazing, and I hope to return to this beautiful hotel every year. Thank you Carolina, and entire staff for making this feel like a second home in Switzerland!

This place is pretty average but very clean and a big room. The staff was really nice- Everyone was helpful. The bar and the restaurant had phenomenal food, but the amenities weren’t that great. What they consider a hot tub/whirlpool was luke warm (seriously barely warm).. and the outdoor pool during a cold season was also luke warm; if that.

Beautiful hotel with outstanding service!

The Strandhotel Belvedere is truly amazing! I arrived early yesterday, and was warmly greeted by Carolina, whose customer service was outstanding. I was able to check in earlier than expected, and am so happy at this hotel. They have a gorgeous view at ‘Captains Bar’ where I received a complimentary desert and coffee. The wellness area is gorgeous! And then, I had dinner last night at their restaurant. It was truly one of the best meals of my life, and the service I received from Dominique was also outstanding. She and the other server were amazing, and made my dinner experience so special. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful hotel!

Overall a beautiful place and definitely worth the cost. The grounds are beautiful and you have a private area by the lake which is nice along with a beautiful view on the rooftop. The only cons is the beds don’t have real mattresses which make it uncomfortable to sleep and the pillows go flat. Also, we had breakfast twice and the first morning the woman was nice. The second morning I found the other woman to be a bit rude. Lastly, at check in the explain how to get to the private area by the lake. The directions were inaccurate and we found ourselves having to ask 3 times which seemed to annoy them. We finally just asked a grounds keeper who gave better directions than the staff at the desk! You have to go down 7 flights of stairs! Maybe they should consider giving a map to non locals.

I booked an airconditioned room but was given a room at check in which was really hot and I did not feel any aircon.
Reception said they will get someone to check on the aircon and only when I asked again was told the room actually has no aircon as not all rooms in that category has aircon. My booking clearly states there is aircon and my specific request was a room with fully controllable aircon on high floor.
Thereafter, I was given a low floor room overlooking the car park with aircon. Anyway, I was happy with the aircon as the heat was unbearable. Thought this could have been handled better especially at that price point.

This hotel is not really ideal for those who don’t drive as the bus to the train station is only once every hour and there are no shops except at the train station.

On the positive side, Jerome, who drove us from the train station, was friendly and professional.

Amazing view of the Thun lake and Spiez castle from the property. Very unique place to stay, offering a perfect Swiss experience. Close to all tourist destinations like Grindelwald, Istelwald, Jungfrau. Well connected by bus and train. The staff provided a bus pass so we didn't have to walk to the train station.
Good weather in May made our stay in the comfy room with a scenic view memorable.
Make sure you check and book the room as they have multiple categories of lake view rooms. The best view is from higher floors. Ours had a view partially blocked by a house.

The hotel is beautiful over look the lake with mountains surrounding it. We stay at the room wit a balcony over looking the beautiful view of the lake as well as the Spiez castle. The hotel also offer a free shuttle form and to the airport which was very helpful.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only thing i was uncomfortable with is the very thin pillow which what i’ve always have a problem with. The bed was very soft but for someone like me with a back problem this was painful. Asides of that everything else was wonderful. Though there’s not much to see, but i would still recommend it. As it will be a resfehing and calming holiday.

Loved this hotel and it was such a shame that we were here for just one night. I'd return to Spiez just to stay at this hotel again. Beautiful property located in a beautiful location. Staff was amazing, friendly, and so accommodating. We had to catch an early train and they packed breakfast for us to eat on the train. The dry sauna overlooking the lake was so dreamy. Don't rely on Google maps for availability - this hotel didn't show up as having availability on good maps but did show up on Expedia. Very nice but small room, great bathroom / shower, comfortable bed, sauna spa, amazing rooftop area, great bar and really nice people at the front desk (Danke Shöen Saskia for being amazing). Parking is available and close. Would highly recommend at the price point (which is expensive but reasonable for Switz).

I had initially wanted to stay in Lauterbrunnen but \"settled\" for Spiez...of you have a car I'd almost recommend to stay here instead of LB.

The Belvedere offers 5 star quality and amenities for a 3 star price. The spa options are varied and wonderful. Afternoon tea was lovely with the cheesecake our favorite. Service was friendly and accommodating. Dining options were excellent.
There’s no need to stay in less gracious and more expensive places in Interlaken when the Belvedere is a short train ride away in Spiez.

We had a wonderful stay. We stayed in a suite that was very roomy. Comfortable king bed. No air conditioning. Absolutely beautiful views of the castle and Lake Thun. Metal pool was just okay but there’s private access to the lake. About a 10 minute walk to get to the ferry. Quite an elevated walk to the train station. Food was 8/10. Staff was amazing.

Twin beds put together a queen does not make.

The hotel is a easy 10 minute walk downhill from the train station if you don't have a car.. Easy to access all your access all the attractions in Spiez. It is a 10 minute walk to the boat station if you arrive by boat. V ery clean rooms and excellent breakfast buffet. Extremely friendly staff willing to assist you.

A beautiful hotel and location but unfortunately the air conditioning was broken so we had little sleep. The staff were courteous but didn’t give us fans until the ot was too late. The pool is superb and we probably just had a bad experience, we received a 20% discount for the problems was fair.

Pretty Hotel but lacked value

This property does not provide appropriate value for the price. I travel quite often and have never once received such poor service at a so-called luxury hotel. Firstly, my husband and I got to the area a couple hours early so we called to see if our room was ready yet because then we would go straight to check in. If not, we would do something else that we had planned. We were told the room is ready so we arrived to the hotel and were treated quite rudely by the staff who said that the room was not ready and won't be for another few hours. I was extremely upset because we had wasted the time to come here early at this point. After some back and forth, they finally let us into the room but did not seem happy about it. The room was designed quite nicely, I'll give them that. The balcony and the view were great as well. I understand that most hotels put twin beds together to form a larger bed, which they did here. However, they didn't even fit it with a larger sheet to help keep the beds together and cover the crack, so we were constantly having to push the beds back together. The pillows were also flat and didn't provide much support to my head and neck. It also got very hot in the room because they hadn't switched the building over from heat to AC yet, which I understand but no solution was offered. We had the balcony door wide open, but I still barely slept during the whole stay because of the heat. They should at least offer a fan for guests. Overall, would not stay again.

This hotel was well maintained. We had a lovely lake view room with a balcony. The bathroom had a deep soaker tub with a separate shower. The wash closet was separated from the bathroom which we found very convenient. The bed was also extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

A handicapped accessible room was assigned to me. The room had different issues like a loose toilet seat and a coffee machine that wasn't working properly. There were other minor issues. Also, a handicapped-accessible room is a severe discomfort for not handicapped people. As I complained, the untraint person at front desk firstly said, there is nothing she could do and then offered to upsell...
Breakfast room plays loud music and isn't as clean as the other parts of the hotel.

Very nice medium sized hotel. Friendly staff and nice boutique rooms. Furniture seems a bit old but they did renovate so it doesn't show so much. The restaurant has one of the most delicious food we have ever tried in Switzerland. Only downside: the spa is nice but super small so it can get (very) crowded in there. Better go outside rush hours.

The hotel has everything you may need including slippers and free shuttle bus to the train station. Staff is friendly and very helpful. They also offered us bottled water (we never even asked for it) on our way out, which was really considerade. Clean room. Boutique style. Splendid lake view. Make sure you don't miss the hot tub outdoor.

The property sits at the top of the lake and it does have a great view from the resteraunt and the lake view rooms. The “wellness center” has a great infinity pool outside and indoor with lake views jacuzzi tube. I’m not big on going in jacuzzis tubs but this one is special. The beach access is about a 5-10 minute walk down a bunch of stairs. It’s key only access which is nice, but there are no signs of where to go and the staff just points in one direction without much detail. From the train station to the hotel is a 10 minute walk which is challenging with bags but the hotel was nice to take us and drop us off with our luggage. We did ask several times for help to maybe give us a ride to a resteraunt even if we paid and they said no. Finally we asked about a bus which is close by, you have to ask to figure things out. To get food, you have a food 10 minute walk to get across the lake to get some great food. She if you like walking a lot this place is great. The rooms were very clean, modern, hard wood floors , nice linens. It is hot. Very hot actually. They do have small fan in the room that got me through the stay. Overall if you love walking and don’t mind warmer temps it’s a nice place to stay.

Had a wonderful stay in Spiez. The view from the hotel is absolutely gorgeous! I recommend getting a room with a view of the lake, you will not be disappointed. Our room was comfortable and spacious with nice updated bathrooms. My only complaint about the room was there were no shades of any kind to block out the light in the morning. This is particularly annoying in the summer as the sun starts to rise before around 4:30am! The hotel staff was very warm, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed a remarkable dinner outside overlooking the lake and Spiez Castle. One of the best meals I've ever had, very inventive, gourmet and beautifully prepared. Wine selection was also excellent and we enjoyed a bottle of the local wine that grew on the hillside opposite from the hotel. After having such an amazing dinner we were looking forward to the breakfast in the morning...however it was a bit of a let down, did not match the quality by any means. The hotel has it's own private beach on the lake and from there you can take a beautiful walk along the lake to neighboring towns. Highly recommend the walk along the lake, stunning! Over all had a wonderful stay and would stay again if in Spiez!

View for Days

Such an amazing view from our room with balcony. The pool was outstanding and equally as great of a view. Staff was very friendly. I could have stayed for a full week!

Excellent hotel. If you are looking for city life with lots of restaurants then do not stay there (although Interlaken and Tun are close by train). If you are looking for a relaxed environment with beautiful scenery and excellent staff then the place is perfect for you.

Stylish and Comfortable!

This hotel is a well-cared for and comfortable property with an excellent breakfast. it overlooks the lake and is very convenient to the Old Town and to the lake ferry boat service. The hot tub and outdoor pool are beautiful and elegant.

Great hotel and top class of services

Nice lake and mountain view , room is big and clean and comfort , staffs are nice and warm, for sure we will visit again . Especially for the outdoor swimming pool at night with nice view too . B'fast also good .
