Disappointing, far from 4 *
Very disappointing. It’s not a 4 star hotel at all. Mattress in one bed sloped, the other dipped in the middle, this meant our backs seized up when we woke. A lady kindly moved us but we ended up with a room without balcony, which we had booked. Breakfast disappointing. You are given a nespresso machine, kettle, sugar and creamer but no teabags or coffee, apparently you have to buy them. Received better hospitality elsewhere in Switzerland.

The property was nice, but definitely not a 4 star hotel. More like a 3 star. For some reason the first day after we arrived, they didn't clean the room. After we requested for them to clean the room the day after that, they just made the bed, and changed the towels. However, they didn't replenish the soap, nor the toilet paper, nor did they clean the toilet. The property has a lot of potential, but the staff really needs to get their act together.

The staff was exceptional! They offered dining at late hours of the evening, which was helpful when we got in late and there weren’t many options in the area. The bus comes right to the hotel and took about 40 minutes with stops to get to Interlaken. We couldn’t get any bikes from the property and there weren’t any bike rental shops in the area so we did have to travel by bus to go on adventures around the area.

Hotel is right next to bus stop that goes to Thun, which is perfect if you need the convenience of travel.

It is always hard to tell what a hotel is Actually like from pics, but this hotel was a delightful surprise that exceeded our expectations. The views really do look like their promo pics - direct frontal view of snowy peaks. The family room was a good large size, as was the bathroom (rare in Europe!). Staff was flawlessly nice, helpful & professional, good breakfast, serviceable onsite restaurant, and best of all - Gorgeous friendly house cat who lavishes affection on all guests :) We'd definitely stay again.

I would like to know who rated this hotel at 4 stars? This is so misleading I passed over so many hotels that are 3 stars and I’m sure they will be better than this one because of the false rating. First thing you can’t sleep here because of the church bells that ring every hour, every half an hour and every 15 mins even after midnight. 2) there is no air conditioning we went in mid September and the room was so hot and we couldn’t open the windows because of the mosquitoes. 3) location wise it is very inconvenient and far from the main train stations, so be prepared to take a bus that comes hourly to go to interlaken Ost or Thun train stations, the bus ride is 55 mins with another bus change 4) every time we went down to have breakfast and we went early at 8 or before they were always out of everything and they blamed it on a group of tourists who ate and finished everything in the buffet. They should have prepared enough amount to everybody staying at the hotel 5) they didn’t refill any shampoo or soap 6) the only one good thing I liked about this place is the view which I couldn’t enjoy because the room was so hot so we couldn’t stay in our room to enjoy the view

DO NOT Stay at this property if you want to SLEEP! When I booked this I knew it had a bell tower close by. I had no idea the bell tower chimed ALL night long. Plus it has a bus stop across the street from the hotel. Plus the restaurant is below so you get the noise from all of that. ON top of that they had a festival going that weekend down the street you could hear it with the windows shut. It went all night long. Then the drunks would come to the bus stop all night until 4:00-5:00 am. I complained at the front desk they did nothing to compensate us just apologize. Supposed to be family run never saw the owner. The front desk person worked at the front desk also worked in the restaurant. We ate one night in the restaurant. I asked for a glass of tap water. They charged me for a glass of tap water after all the problems we had.
The morning after we had no sleep I complained and she said she had no idea what was going on down the street. That afternoon they said it was a festival and would be going on again that night. It happens every year at this time. I told them they should not book people staying in this hotel if they want to sleep or at least tell them it is going on when they book it. the next morning when we checked out I complained again. Noisy Nightmare at an Overpriced Hotel

I recently had the misfortune of staying at Bären Sigriswil.
As someone who paid over 400 CHF for a peaceful night's sleep, I can confidently say that this hotel failed to deliver on its basic promise.
From the moment I checked in, it became evident that noise would be an ongoing issue during my stay. The hotel's location seemed to be a magnet for all things noisy. First and foremost, the walls of the hotel seemed to have paper-thin insulation, as I could hear every conversation and commotion taking place in the adjacent restaurant. The fact that the restaurant operated after 23:00 made matters even worse. Despite being exhausted, I was bombarded with the constant clamor of people chatting.
To compound my frustration, the hotel's proximity to a nearby church became an additional source of annoyance. Instead of waking up to a peaceful morning you take part in the hit song bells of Nother Dame 🔔🔔🔔
I would strongly advise anyone seeking a peaceful stay to look elsewhere, as this hotel clearly fails to deliver on its promises of good night sleep.

The view was incredible. The staff was very friendly and fast. The laundry service was excellent. The water pressure and heat on the shower was the best I've experienced ever. It was advertised as a hotel room, but we got a suite with a kitchen, living room and balcony overlooking Lake Thun. (I don't know that'll always be the case, so call ahead). Sigriswil Panorama bridge is a 2 minute walk from here. The room came with a pass that gave us discounts to local attractions and included free bus fare. I would make a trip back just on account of this amazing hotel.

Best breakfast EVER. It was included for us and by far the best offerings we’ve ever had. The view in the breakfast room is breathtaking. We booked their small double room and still got a partial view, but they have so many beautiful room options. The only major downside (our fault) is that there is no where to eat after 9pm around here so eat before!!

The Baeren's location is great: right in the center of Sigriswil, a lovely resort town. The hotel offers a typical Swiss buffet breakfast included with the room, and also features a cozy Stuebli (bar/lounge) and restaurant.
Unfortunately, our visit this year (2019) was not as pleasant as in some past years (we are repeat visitors, and have been familiar with the property in the early 1980s). When we visited the weather was quite hot, and the facility has no air conditioning. The level of service has declined somewhat, which is noticeable with the housekeeping and service in the Stuebli.

Hotel advertise fitness and spa centee which we found out upon arrival that it was not included in the nightly price. Appreciated that the hotel provided free bus fare card, but it was not offered even after asking a out transportation and the bus schedule - ww had to specifically ask for it. Food was great feom the restaurant. Hotel was grungy for a 4 stat hotel...at best i would rate it 2.5

We LOVED staying at Baeren Sigriswil! The room was cozy but large. The views were unbelievable and the village was just too cute. The staff was incredibly helpful and professional. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The variety of food and drinks available made for the perfect start to the day. The restaurant downstairs was delicious and in the three days we ate there, we were never disappointed. With a bus stop right outside, transportation to other local villages and attractions was easy. I would recommend this location to anyone planning a trip to the Interlaken/Thun area!

Nothing was explained at check in. We wanted to us the hot tub, didn’t know where it was. The ladies the next morning helped but the guy at the reception desk was not helpful at all. He literally said “here is your key, breakfast is at 7:30.” The view and the room is great. I’f you’re not looking for customer service and just a great room and view, this is a good place to be.

Took three attempts to get someone to come check us in. Restaurant and bar were closed and after a 6 hour drive we were dying for something to drink. We had a junior suite overlooking the mountains. There was a kitchen that was for demonstration purposes only, not even a working fridge. No air con so in 25+ degree heat the room was too hot. The hotel is across from the village church which insists on bell ringing on the hour throughout the night so unless you’re a heavy sleeper you can’t leave the window open. Easily the best hotel we stayed at over the course of our trip in Europe. The hotel staff was very friendly and offered fantastic service throughout our stay. The view from the hotel beautifully overlooks the lake and mountains. The hotel is also in a convenient location, with the bus stop just outside. The restaurant is also a lovely place to have dinner at while viewing the Swiss countryside. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area, it was amazing.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful little out-of-the-way town. The front desk was great - we had a late arrival and they had to stay late for us. Just a few minutes from Interlochen but much quieter and more scenic.

Hotel under construction!
We booked a 2 night stay at the hotel through Orbitz.com. There was no mention of on going construction on the 3rd floor. We stayed one night on the second floor, an upgrade according Stephanie. When we checked in, she said breakfast was served from 7-10AM, so we assumed it was part of our rate. Our room had a non functional kitchen. Refrigerator didn't work & sink didn't have plumbing. We slept comfortably until we were rudely awoken @ 7AM by construction team on the floor above us. My husband went downstairs to tell the hotel manager that we would checking out a day earlier because of the noise. We packed & checked out. They told us that we had reserved 2 nights we would be charged for them. Unbelievable! We argued for 2 hours, I called my credit card co. My husband called the police to make a report. Police were unable to assist us. The owner arrived after the police left. When we asked the owner his name & business card he refused to give it. They charged our credit card without our permission for the 2 days. Incredibly unethical! We left the hotel then went to the town's Info center to file a formal complaint against the hotel. We have traveled over 30 years & never come across a situation like this. Very disappointed travelers from San Francisco!

Hotel location is very bad because it is on busy road and opposite side is a church were the bell was ringing every hour .. The hotel is kind of old and the carpet is very stinky .. we couldn't sleep all night because of the noise and the smell .. the hotel staff in charge was not available most of the time to help us, and we had to book extra night at a different hotel .. a refund was rejected and nothing we could do.

Just a terrific experience. Upgraded to regular suite from a junior suite. Dinner at the hotel was delicious. The included buffet lacked nothing including champagne. Beautiful views. All in all a first rate experience.

This hotel is not **** as advertised on Expedia. The positives are the views to Lake Thun and the spacious rooms with balconies. The staff were pretty friendly too. The negatives are 1) there was no air conditioning on a very warm day and so at night we had to leave the doors open and kept getting woken up by the busses traveling by and the church bell which rung every quarter hour through the night 2) the Cable TV connection was not working the entire time and the desk clerk failed to disclose it 3) the Wi-Fi signal kept cutting out. The worst part is the rate Expedia has posted presumes this is a Four star place. We paid the same rate at much nicer places in Bern and Zermatt. Needless to say we were disappointed but luckily we only stayed one night!!
