This is a unique hotel located inside a 12th century castle, staff was very nice and restaurant inside the hotel was amazing, we had dinner with great views and delicious food, breakfast was complimentary and very nice, we loved the overall experience

Hotel forms part of the castle and has the most incredible views. Lovely spa which I recommend for an hour after a busy day exploring. Great location for connections to the mountains. Lift access to the Old Town. Super friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Unique hotel that I would highly recommend.

First, it is not boutique at all though it is in a castle. The room is fully modernized and does not give us any sense of living in a castle (We stayed in castle hotels in France and Italia previously). Second, the breakfast was served in 2-3 “courses”. We didn’t want cheese &meat and wanted an extra egg & piece of smoked salmon instead. They refused our request unless we pay for the switch. This was the first time we didn’t have enough for breakfast during our six week visit to Europe. Thun is beautiful and worth visiting.

The hotel was very nice with great accommodations and staff were very helpful. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I've had. Check in was a little confusing because there was nobody at reception when I arrived and entrance is the same as the restaurant right next to it without a clear sign, but I realized later that this was because it is a small shop and staff are taking on multiple roles throughout the day. However responses to any questions via email were answered very promptly even in the evening when I didn't expect an answer until the next day. The location is very nice with a great view but it is high up so be sure to ask the hotel for the best way to get there if coming from the train station.

Amazing location, the man in the evening was absolutely amazing!! He gave us direction and things too see, I wish we met him on arrival we wasted a whole morning wandering around, Because the female in the morning gave us no direction or map just said to come back later in the afternoon and your room will be ready. The female is the morning, not helpful at all.

If you’re looking for a \"Four Seasons\" experience this is not the place. If you are looking for a unique, well run, warm and welcoming place inside a historic setting, this IS the place. Perched above the beautiful community of Thun, this boutique hotel has well appointed rooms, spa facilities and a thoughfully currated menu and wine selection at the on site restaurant. With all of that said, the staff are the biggest asset, they are gracious, polite, helpful and so welcoming. I would stay again, for sure!

The hosts were great . It’s about a 10 min walk from the train station to the castle parking lot elevator. The breakfast was excellent. There is AC which is nice during the summer. It’s a great location to explore the Berner Oberland region.Buy the half fare card and the Berner Oberland pass. We bought the 8 day pass and would plan our days according to the weather. We will stay there again!

Amazing service and beautiful hotel! We loved the views from our 3 large windows with views from every angle. The included breakfast was delicious with many hot item choices as well as a buffet with various breads, fruits, cereals and yogurts. I enjoyed the cappuccino and my husband loved the hot chocolate. This is an old castle made into hotel. There is no AC in the room. The parking is not far but not in the hotel property. It can be noisy at night as the old town houses concerts lasting till 10-11 pm. Breakfast is to order and we found portions inadequate.

This hotel was the perfect spot to explore Thun. You’re literally at the castle, and the included breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There is air conditioning when it’s very hot which was nice for us because it was quite hot! Take the elevator up unless you want to arrive as haggard as we were. It’s close to the waterfront restaurants and bars, the beautiful old wooden bridge, and a nice little walk takes you over to the lake.

Just stunning to stay in an actual castle overlooking a stunning view. We felt like we really were in a Disney movie. The weather was stunning and we just loved it. Staff were friendly and happy to help. Only down side was the room was quite small. However it had everything we could need.

Please take the elevator from the parking garage to access the hotel. Do not take the bus like we did and lug your luggage up the very steep hill. Otherwise, this place is beautiful!

The rooms in this castle are modern and comfortable with a lovely view to the courtyard of the castle. My husband and I booked a \"cozy\" double which was pretty spaceous by EU standards. Nice amenities in the rooms (e.g. coffee maker - which is also quite unusual for a European hotel).
We took a taxi up from the train station with our luggage but then discovered the public lift (which is part of an award winning car park-- spotless and convenient!) from the lower section of the old town - so we walked back for our departure.

Had an amazing 2-night stay in a panorama view room (2.08) and loved every minute! Spacious room, comfortable bed, big shower, fridge and coffeemaker and kettle.
Delicious breakfast (the smoked salmon with horseradish foam was delightful) and the private spa is not to be missed! Book it upon arrival. You'll have access for a 50 minute period and can use the sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and shower facilities. So great after a day (or week) of hiking!

My favorite hotel of my trip to Switzerland. I was in the panorama room and the views were incredible. We did the float from Thun to Bern and it was our favorite float ever. So much fun. Highly recommend this hotel and the Aare River.

Wonderfully interesting building, fabulous employees, and great breakfast for our two room/two-night stay. Very clean. We had one business room and also the tower room. We found ourselves hot though - the tower being a historic designation there is not any air conditioning and limited receptacles for devices, so as the days were perhaps unseasonably hot the room stayed too warm for us until approximately 1am. We left the windows open to catch some breeze - but then we got flies and birds and all the noise from those coming and going as well as those our to the bars having a good time (until 3am on Saturday).

Guests should be emailed by the property and from Expedia / other OTA - and explained on their website that there is a lift and that the alternative access to the hotel is via approximately 150 steps ! This is important as one of our party had a heart condition and it proved difficult for them to climb the 150 steps with luggage. We used google to determine how to access the hotel (I imagine many guests will also do this) however Google does not indicate anything about a lift. The hotel could make it clearer on their website for a start.

1) The shower was dirty. See photos.
2) Staff opened the door to my room without my permisson WHILE I WAS NAKED. I did NOT ask her to bring me anything. She literally just opend my door to give me one of their price lists, then apologized once she saw that I was naked.
3) The falsely advertised air-conditioner does not work half the year.
4) Herbert, the manager, was extremely rude. We reserved the sauna for 8pm IN PERSON. Herbert marked us down for 8pm. We showed up for our reservation only for Herbert to tell us we never booked one, and that we were \"lying\" about booking one, when really he was just too proud to tell us that he made a mistake.
5) The bed is false advertising. It's not one double bed, its two twin beds pushed together. There is a wooden divide between the two, so forget about intimate moments or cuddling. Also extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. When we requested extra pillows to make the bed more comfortable, Herbert funkily brought up two pillows and told us thats all he was giving us, dont ask for more. Just an all-around nasty place.
There was even one couple doing drugs on the property and choking his girlfriend's neck.

Pro tip- there is a public parking garage under the castle, and an elevator will bring you up to the hotel. Pretty cool set up, glad I found it!

Ever wanted to stay in a castle? Here’s your chance! The hotel is within the castle walls of Thün Schloss in the heart of Thün. The room is a good size, the bathroom and shower is very large for European standards. I loved the window seat that overlooked the courtyard and the turrets of the castle. The beds were very comfortable, though a bit squeaky. There’s an espresso machine in the room and a fridge with drinks. The spa and sauna downstairs are really nice: candles and lounge chairs, a dry sauna and a huge soaking tub. Breakfast is provided - but we had to leave for the airport, so I can’t say anything about what was at the breakfast. The parking is at the bottom of the hill in a big parking garage and there’s an elevator that you use to get to the castle/hotel, which is only a few yards away. Loved this place! Our favorite of many hotels on our European road trip.

The Boutique Hotel Schlossberg is located admirably, immediately adjacent to the Schloss overlooking the ancient city of Thun. Although parking is off-site, it is located very conveniently located in a feat of engineering- an elevator runs from the hotel to the parking, to the old city, via a hospital.... We stayed in the Panorama room, which is very large, clean, comfortably furnished with beautiful views from all windows. The TV connection was slightly problematic, but once we got the knack of it- no problem (more english-speaking channels would be welcome). The hotel personal were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and well-prepared, We had one dinner, took the special menu of the evening and shared it- it was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel, in every respect.

Possibly the Best located Hotel in Thun
Possibly the best located hotel in Thun with easy access to the old town. The castle has been sympathetically restored and modernised, rooms are clean and comfortable. We had dinner on the terrace with lovely views over the old town. I'm a gluten free vegetarian and was disappointed by the lack of choice as the menu was very meat orientated; a mixed vegetable and mushroom risotto was offered. Service is friendly and efficient so would recommend.

Fint hotel med den bedste beliggenhed med udsigt ud over byen ved morgenbordet . Lidt sløvt internet , morgenmaden er rigtig fin . Aircon går ud i løbet af natten og starter først igen kl 6.30 så det var ret varmt i de dage vi havde over 30 grader om dagen . Der går en elevator fra P kælderen i hovedgaden op til bjerget hvor hotellet ligger så man sparer turen op af trappen .
