A Good Hotel

The hotel recently reopened after a cleaning and painting inside and out. It is well maintained and good and friendly employees. It has an older decor that was well built and good upkeep. The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding areas.

City Beach Resort is located right in the middle of town. Rooms offer sweeping views of the ocean and hills. It represents the grand hotels of the past. Enormous rooms, ornate tiles and word carved doors. Unfortunately, that’s where the beauty ends. This hotel requires a serious update. The shower head and 1980s tv needs replacing as does the wi fi. The multitude of staff on the front desk are helpful but this sort of money I would expect better.

Hua Hin Stay

We went to Hua Hin to play golf and wanted to stay near the center of the city. The hotel is very nice and very conveniently located for things in the area. I'd definitely stay again but would not pay for the breakfast.

Great value one night stay

Pros...good location, great views, lots of restaurants at your door, easy access to Hua Hin Beach. Cons...terrible beds, no safe in room, dated and tasteless furniture, lots of baby spiders crawling in room.
Overall am avarage stay, I just wanted to try the place as the price was very good...but no breakfeast.
Would I stay again, no I would not, but only because I don’t really like large hotels...I have a preference for boutique family run hotels. Staff did nothing wrong.

City Beach Hotel must have been majestic in its day. The rooms are enormous and include a bath. The oool is large and very deep. The hotel is located extremely close to the beach and bars and restaurants. It could do with a little updating like keyless doors. At last they have updated the tv s in the rooms with a modest flat screen. The font desk staff (other staff I encountered were very friendly) needs to be a more friendly.

Best location in Huahin in competitive price

Most valuable part of this resort is the location.
This hotel is a bit old pattern like lift and rooms but staffs are very friendly. They don’t understand English that much but try to help. Breakfast is ok. Very few items.
It’s in-front of McDonald’s and Burger King which are 24/7 open and close to all restaurants.
Very close to Hua Hin Beach. And the very nice part of it is the balconies.
I’m very pleased with my stay.

For hotel good environment and location as near by many travel areas but room make up is not well old TV and difficult to change channels as it’s not good remote control.

Women reception is not well communicate and she made bad face to customers.

Breakfast a lot for halal food and difficult for people don’t eat chicken.

Cleaning was not well.

You pay for the location, which is perfect. Central Hua hin.
Actually i cannot think of any other reason to stay there.
Certainly not for the breakfast , ughhh! Served in a 'freezer'-restaurant.
Everything old, not really well maintained.
You can experience what meant luxury back in the seventies..or so.
...still the same.
Stay for max. 1 night, (skip breakfast!.. go to soi 94, opposite of G huahin). if you need to park your car safe in the very centre of the city

This hotel is in the BEST location and that is all that is good about it. I have stayed in the City Beach on 2 occasions but that's it now, no more. The internet (which is really important to me for work) was useless on the 2nd floor. I complained many times and asked to be moved to another floor/room where internet was better, my request was refused. The hotel is in dire need of upgrading, it's looking shoddy. I doubt any woman would enjoy the en suite bathrooms. Not worth the price.

Had a great stay at this place, fantastic location for both the nightlife and the beach. Nice rooms which are kept spotlessly clean. Only downside is the pool area is completely in the shade from early afternoon in November when we visited.

Time for an update

This hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Hua Hin and is close to bars, restaurants and the beach. It’s decor and general facilities are starting to show their age. I have stayed here many times purely for the convenience to the beach. The staff appear to been replaced since my last stay. While they are efficient not one since staff member including house staff smile or seem friendly.

The hotel is in a good location. Walking distance to beach, night markets, eating places and train station. The room clean and spacious. Wifi ok. The hotel is next to the temple and very early in the morning you can hear temple bell ringing and chanting of prayers, etc.

The only reason this hotel is at the current price point of around $50 is that it is 2-3 blocks from the ocean. If it was closer, the price would be a lot higher. The views on the upper floors were good and it is within a couple blocks of the little walking street area. The 2nd floor pool was large and deep, however because it only gets direct sunlight for part of the day, gets a little chilly. I was not expecting that. Other points - the room was great. I got the executive, which had good views. The shower head was at shoulder length ( I am a little over 6') and un-attachable, so that was a little inconvenient. However, the hotel is clean, kept in excellent shape and in the heart of the city. I stayed for 3 nights and would easily stay here again.

Hotel is nice, but perhaps a bit tired in places. There was also some building work going on when we were there but this did not impact our stay.

Location is good, close to the beach, bars and restaurants.

No problems with the room, but a safe would be a nice addition - there wasn't one in our room.

The hotel rooms are dated and could do with a revamp. In its day the hotel would have been very classy. Breakfast was okay, most dishes were cold and had no label saying what it was. Pool was lovely. Great location 5min walk to the beach.

City Beach Resort must have been a luxury resort some years ago. While it’s grandeur is beginning to fade a little, the rooms are spacious and generally well appointed. Don’t expect modern furniishings or a flat screen tv. The pool and pool area is large. While staff are generally efficient they still need to learn more about customer service such as advising the wifi password at check in time. A well located hotel in the centre of Hua Hin and way walking distance to bars, restaurants and the beach.

On check in the receptionist could have broken a smile.
Rooms looked poorly decorated and having two single beds weren’t ideal.
Beds and pillows were very hard and had problems getting to sleep due to the discomfort.

Good stay with one glitch

Apart from the manager at the front desk being a total d**k and trying to tell me my booking was only for 2 people instead of 3 and trying to charge me more money and after proving him wrong not offering the slightly apology the stay was good. Excellent location, older hotel but i'd say its value for money.

Old charm - great location - huge rooms

This is one of Hua Hins nicest and most affordable hotels. It is close to the beach, cafes and bars. The rooms are enormous but could do with a make-over. The front office staff are friendly and helpful. If you’re planning a weekend in Hua Hin this is the place to stay and only a short walk from the historic train station.

Very nice Hotel, Rooms were neat and clean, stay was comfortable, very convenient location. However, Hotel staff not helpful in providing any guidance /assistance in helping new tourists. Breakfast hardly any choices of items. But this is not a problem as the location of the hotel is very good and you have access to everything like beach, taxi stands, hotels/eateries, spas, shopping areas, night markets etc...in walking distance.

Overall a convenient hotel to enjoy Hua Hin.

Pretty good value, but this hotel is way past its glory days. You can tell it must have been top-notch in its prime, but that was decades past. The location is great, and they have parking, which is rare in the center of Hua Hin. The room was clean, but the fixtures and fittings are very old. The desk was tiny and child-sized and the shower too short for anyone above 5'3\" (160cm). The breakfast buffet was adequate.

The room itself is very quaint. Clean. Hotel staff seemed frustrated or simply aggravated to have customers that day, maybe they had a bad morning. Speaking of mornings, their breakfast staff was very lazy and inconsiderate.

Never again at City Beach

Having lived in Hua Hin for 7 years - but have returned to UK for 2 years - as our house was on a long let we needed a hotel central Hua Hin. Was dubious about City Beach before booking but booked it because of location for business and friends - Good points:- some staff - room excellent - house keeping excellent. Very bad points:- It was made quite clear that Restaurant was basically closed if you were a Westerner - would only cook Thai food - Breakfast disgraceful - so bad I took my breakfast to show G. Manager - he said get kitchen to cook you fresh - I said yes, this is what they have given me - ended up buying and bringing our breakfast in. Pool was full of floating leaves - pool bar n/a - so bad we lost money and returned to Bangkok 5 days early.

Good location, could benefit from renovation

This was my second stay at City Beach Resort (the last two-thirds of the name are a bit misleading); I was here some years ago but didn't remember that it was this dated. It's like the facilities are old, low-budget versions of everything, like the toilet that requires your input for like 30 seconds in order to flush, fixed shower heads made for people considerably shorter than yours truly etc. The piping in this hotel is the noisiest piping I have ever heard, and I used to work on a gas platform. The location is really convenient, a little bit closer to the beach and I would have rated the location at 5. Pro tip: get a room facing the police station and you might be able too mooch off their open wifi in stead of paying for the hotel's wifi.

Pretty disappointed. Small rooms, a bit dingy and poor service. Probably the least friendly reception staff I have encountered in Thailand. I have stayed at 4-5 places in similar price range in this part of Hua Hin and this is the worst.

Reception area very impressive. Service reasonable. Pool looked good and inviting but was too old - and nervous - to go into it. No help from pool lady. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Had the bathroom been updated - new fittings and Western style toilet - would have been better. Excellent lunch and service from staff good. Breakfast was adequate - hot buffet disappointing compared to other hotels in Bangkok and the Residence Hotel near Airport. All in all, overall impression was good.

Vi hade speciellt sagt till om att få en dubbelsäng redan 6 månader innan, ändå sa de att alla rum med dubbelsäng var upptagna. Vi betalade kontant vid incheckningen. När vi checkade ut såg vi att de dragit hela summan från vårt kort samma dag som vi checkade in. När vi påtalade det gick personen i receptionen iväg och kom tillbaka med pengarna som vi betalat. Ingen ursäkt utan hon lämnade bara över pengarna. Wifi var svagt eller fungerade inte alls periodvis. Sängarna stenhårda.

Grosse Zimmer. Sauber. Ruhige Klimas Lage.

Sehr sehr altes Hotel. Lärm der Putzfrau en ab 8:00 h beim Verschieben der Möbel und beim Quatschen. Leitungen alt, man hört wenn der Nachbar auf der Toilette war.

Alles in allem stimmt die Preis/Leistung. Lage ideal.
