This was our third visit. Good location and close to everything. Trip slightly spoiled as the usual hotel policy had been a free bottle of wine, left in the room for stays lasting four nights or more. Since we stayed for five nights we had thought a bottle might be waiting. When we checked out we queried whether the this was no longer the case. Reception informed us that we should have received a bottle. They then had an extended phone conversation with house keeping. And said as we booked with Expedia- no bottle. I needed to get to the airport and didn't have time to challenge. However we won't be staying here again.

When I asked to switch rooms because the elevator was way too loud, you can hear it going up and down and we didn’t get good sleep, they said there was no rooms available. within a couple hours. different couple ask for a room change and they received one.

Comfy beds. Good black out curtains. Room needs a chair by the little glass table. Good number of hangers. Good number of drawers to stow clothing. No obvious luggage rack. Opening a suitcase on the floor is awkward at my age. Opening up on a dresser top is rude and disrespectful. The tv remote is an unfamiliar style and not particularly intuitive so printed instructions would be appreciated. Safe is accessible and instructions are clear. Have stayed here before and will happily return.

We enjoyed staying at the AP Eva Senses Hotel - Faro, but they do have numerous problems that need to be addressed. First, the positives: great location, helpful front desk staff, clean rooms.
The negatives: Very small rooms, no individual air conditioning or heating (it is all controlled centrally - to cool off they tell you to open a windown or door!), very rude/unprofessional bar staff (both bars, 5th floor and ground floor, have very untrained and poor customer service), filthy/nasty bar tables and bar counter at 5th floor bar (had ants running all over the main bar). The bar staff and bar facilities need serious work!

Pros - good location. Nice facilities. Modern rooms. Plentiful breakfast.
Cons - noise, noise, noise. We paid extra for the balcony and marina view. The air con is controlled centrally. We visited in the winter and the room felt so hot and stuffy with the balcony doors closed. The aircon was automatically switched to heating mode and we were unable to switch it to air con mode, we can switch it off but it still felt stuffy. I woke up multiple times a night sweating. This meant we had to sleep with the balcony doors open. This meant noise all night especially at the weekend. There were people talking noises, shouting, buses, cars, trains, planes and general traffic noise. You can hear the cleaning ladies dragging their trolleys and moving furniture around the hotel.

The indoor pool is much smaller than expected and the water is cold. The jacuzzi and sauna are also small. There is a €10 per towel rental fee and €5 swimming cap fee (non refundable).

We had the misfortune of having to spend a night here on 23 Jan when our BA flight got cancelled

What 4 star hotel has no shampoo or conditioner or shower gel. All we got was hand wash

Both restaurants were closed for dinner so we had to eat outside

It was raining badly so we asked if we could borrow an umbrella. Told not possible

The small TV in the bedroom area had only 8 channels on it none of them English so why have it there ?

Rooms have thin walls so you can hear all the people around you talking.

Only one of the lifts was operational making the place hazardous and inconvenient

Breakfast had lovely views and food was ok but nothing special

Pool and top floor pool area was closed for renovations

We tried to adjust the thermostat but it didn’t seem to work. Breakfast is very good. Staff are friendly and professional. Location is very central too. We highly recommend this hotel.

However, it faced the road, was very noisy for most of the night (glass bins collected at 2am, people partying below the balcony, traffic noise, lots of shouting) and therefore, didn’t really sleep. Friendly staff with good spoken English, really good buffet breakfast and good supper on Floor 5 with panoramic views. Swimming pool.

Nice clean spacious rooms with easy to operate AC.

Ask for a room overlooking the marina as they are so much nicer than the ones at the back.Well worth the upgrade.

Room was adequate but needs updating. Definitely showing it's age. Cleaning staff would leave you a bottle of water if you left a tip. Service staff were courteous but not overly friendly. Some seemed to be annoyed with the lower occupancy level I believe. Hotel has lots to offer ie piano music at breakfast, location etc. and probably thrives during busier season. Breakfast buffet offered lots of choices and staff were quick to collect your dishes. Hotel in all was clean. Front desk was helpful and accommodating.

Friendly reception staff, we arrived before check in time, our rooms were ready so we were able to go straight to them which was great after an early start. The view over the marina was stunning. The breakfast experience was lovely - good choice, eating outside in the sun with the view over the marina/sea, and pianist playing. We were given a flower each on our departure day, a nice touch. The only disappointments were that my daughter was unable to borrow an iron, which was bizarre- often there is one provided in every room, or at least one is available on request - and that the water in the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi was quite cold. The sauna however was lovely. The bedding was good quality as were the blackout curtains, making for a good night's sleep.

Great hotel. Whilst check-in was a little slow - staff were very professional and polite. The room and balcony were lovely. The hotel’s amenities - outdoor and indoor pool, sauna and rooftop deck were excellent. We had a massage and a facial - what a treat and very relaxing - highly recommend. Hotel’s location is also superb - views, view overlooking marina and easy walks into old town. Breakfast buffet was good and the pianists who played at breakfast, in reception and in the evening were an absolute joy. This hotel really did appeal to the senses.

We stayed in a standard double with a city view room for 2 nights. The room was spacious and had a nice view of the outside road. The breakfast area was large and a nice setting to enjoy a meal, as you looked over the water area in Faro. A very busy hotel whilst we were there (mid-September) but convenient location as Faro city itself does not contain too much to see, and the hotel is located close enough to explore the sites via walking.

From check in to check out, all staff seem disinterested and sullen. Guests were not much better. It’s a nice Hotel in prime position in Faro, but the overall experience was very negative. Most people ( staff and guests ) were far too much up themselves. Glad we only had one night there.

Our suite was the biggest we've ever stayed in! However we were on the 1st floor and street side. SO NOISY that sleep was hard for me. There was noise until 5 or 6 a.m. The pool is large and on the rooftop but chairs are scarce and the water is freezing. The gym was great! Also, the staff were all very helpful

Nice hotel great location, just a couple of tweaks

Spent a nice week here. Probably the best located hotel in Faro. A short ride from the airport, both the modern waterfront and old town right there, and the train station a few minutes walk away. It has a lot going for it.

If you can get a room on the marina side the view is lovely, nice place to sit on a morning or evening.

The top floor buffet restaurant (breakfast and weekend dinner), pool / bar, and cocktail bar make use of the location with the views over the marina and coast.

We had a very nice stay. A few tweaks could raise it from good to great.

The main thing in my opinion being the inability to keep hot food hot on the buffet, at either breakfast or dinner, it was cold unless you caught a dish being brought out fresh. The quantity and range of food on offer is large, maybe best to do a little less but better? Breakfast is a bit chaotic but no more than most. Good fruits, salads, cheese, bread and cakes.

The shower in our bathroom was clean and functional but tired and a bit leaky. Not really in keeping with the standard otherwise.

There's a smart cocktail bar which they could easily push more. We got to nearly the end of our stay before we knew much about it or realised they had offers at certain times.

The rooftop pool and bar could use a refresh with it's furniture and it's selection of drinks. It's such a nice spot and they lay on music events some evenings, just a little polish would meet it's potential.

DO NOT book at this hotel. First we were met with surly staff at the reception desk. Our room was totally unacceptable. There was a problem with the plumbing outside our door. IT STUNK.
During the night right behind our bed we could hear toilets flushing, showers going. Even when we complained we were met with arrogance and lies.
The duty manager did even bother to introduce himself while we were complaining and he was sitting there.
To top it all off, this self rated 4 star hotel did not even have Kleenex in the rooms. The products were substandard , the toilet paper abrasive and just all round unacceptable. Buyer beware, you are a 45mins ferry ride away from the closest beach. This should be considered a 2 star hotel.

Do not stay here if you have a car. Parking is on the street and very limited. There’s a larger parking lot which is public parking but it is blocks away and busy when tourists are at the beach. Main areas of the property are nice but I found the hotel room stark for supposedly a 4 star property.

This resort has great views however everything else was very lackluster. I stayed here for a few nights and upon checking in the AC was making a very loud noise. It was reported several times and each time we were told the maintenance worker would be by to check it and if it can’t be fixed they will move our room. We left to explore and came back and it still had not been fixed. When I approached the front to fix it they kept giving me the runaround until the last time I went they said maintenance had actually left for the day and so they will just move us. This was hours later. No one ever contacted us to follow up if maintenance had been by or if things were fixed and it took us going to report it multiple times for it to be handled. The hotel room left a lot to be desired. Overall we were not pleased and would not recommend staying here.

As frequent travelers, we would not recommend this resort. Though the resort is rated as a 4 star hotel, we would rate it as a run down 3 or even a 2. The reception was pretty with a nice bar adjacent, but the new restaurant (which we were very interested in) was not even open for the duration of our stay. The elevators were slow and extremely small, making trips with multiple groups or large luggage impossible. We stayed on the first floor and the hallway was musty, smelly, and dark. The room itself was extremely dirty with hand prints all over the doors, dirty floors and walls, crooked pictures, moldy grout and shower tiles, hair in the sink and linens, ripped chairs, and a shower that did not drain at all. Our door was extremely difficult to close, often having to push/slam it closed. Parking was a nightmare with maybe 15 spots which were almost always full. The staff were mostly nice but they were slow and frequently forgot our orders. We did not eat their food as the town offered much better breakfast at half the cost.

Amazing hotel, very convenient for walking everywhere. All the staff were fantastic, especially Daniel on reception who was exceptionally helpful. Room was lovely, looking over the marina. Pool bar was great. Breakfast was fab, plenty of choice. Will be booking again for next year

The property is in a great location for trains, buses, ferry for the beach. Easy to walk into the old town.
The property itself is tired and needs refreshing. The pool area i feel is unsafe, the steps into the pool are not bolted to the ground securely, and one set has the steps missing.
Our room was on the 4th floor which means you get noise from the breakfast room above, chairs being dragged along the floor etc. 410 was our our room situated next to staff cleaning rooms, this also creates early noise.
Overall, would I stay again, probably not, but would consider they had a deal on.
