Villa Stone was amazing. Our host Mata was very accommodating and very personable. We let him know we were interested in dinner at the location and we set a time. Villa Stone has a lovely outdoor area where our host started his wood fire grill and we had the most amazing food , wine and conversation. Very relaxing. We enjoyed the double room with balcony. The room along with bathroom were very spacious and clean. Bed very comfortable It was the decor and little touches that made you feel comfy and at home. If we come back this way it won’t be for Plitfice Lakes it will be stay at Villa Stone again.

The place is quite new and suited us perfectly. It is just North and only 9 minutes drive to entrance 1 of Plitvice Lakes National Park and therefore a great staging ground for a day trip there. The room is clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable.
While it is possible to enter the park at 7am and start hiking and have breakfast at one of the restaurants inside, we suggest a more leisurely breakfast with Mate and then head on to the park. He provided a perfectly good meal with lots of fruit, bread, eggs, sausages, ham, mushrooms, and vegetables. Coffee machine is available. Wish we could stay longer there.

The owner or the receptionist are very nice to deal with and they were ready to help us whatever questions or servicel. Their property looked so cute and pretty. Only my concerns ware not properly cleaned so there was old dust on the corner of the floor and the towels looked so worned and not white at all. Otherwise good.

My family and I stayed at Villa Stone in Čatrnja, Rakovica for one night while visiting Plitvice National Park, and I honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer. From the moment we arrived—late in the evening and in the rain—we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Mate, the host.
Mate went above and beyond. Not only did he help us get settled in after our long travel day, but he also cooked us a full homemade dinner, which was a truly generous and memorable gesture. His kindness made us feel less like hotel guests and more like family.
The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and incredibly comfortable. It felt like a true countryside retreat. The setting is peaceful and picturesque, with cows and sheep nearby, which kept our children completely entertained.
If you're heading to Plitvice, do yourself a favor and stay here. Between the hospitality, the comfort, and the charm of the location, Villa Stone is easily one of the best places we've stayed on our trip. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Parking was easy and the whole property felt incredibly well cared for. The pool was amazing - so clean and refreshing, and I only wish we had more time for it. I would highly recommend this place to others. It is only about a 5 minute drive from the Plitvice Lakes National Park, where we spent some time, and there were also restaurants and markets very close by.

A farmhouse excape
After a long day at Plitvice National Park we wanted to rest somewhere close by and found this gem. Only a 5 min ride from the park. It was easy parking right infront of the hotel. The room was absolutely huge!! Sparkling clean and the bathroom was very spacious. We had a great balcony looking over the farm land and enjoyed the night under the stars. It was one of the best hotel rooms I've seen during my trip in Croatia. We came during Covid-19 so there was no breakfast but the owner was always around to offer recommendations on place to eat. Would highly recommend!!

The room is very clean, spacious and well kept. The bed was comfortable. They have a lot of lavender plants on the property and had little sachets around the room which made it smell very nice. We were a bit early and were let in and showed our room by a lady who was very friendly but said she didn't speak English very well and that another employee would be back soon. We didn't see another person after that (we were in and out for dinner and errands), I'm not even sure we properly checked in. It was just a bit strange to be wandering in and out of this seemingly empty house with nobody at the front desk (it wasn't empty, we saw cars parked in the lot). We had an early ticket for Plitvice Lakes so were out of there before 7am. Would recommend if you need a place before going to Plitvice (It's a zoo later in the day, you're better off staying the night and getting up for first entry).

This is a lovely, newly constructed property in a superb location close to Plitvace Lakes. Great outside space and we were looked after superbly by the owners who provided a huge choice of breakfast (and handed us a magnificent fruit platter one afternoon on our return from the lakes). Our room was huge with a lovely balcony and the walk in shower was excellent. We were also provided with suggested routes to visit the lakes and local restaurants for dinner. We (family of 4) throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and would highly recommend a stay in this property.

We had a wonderful stay here and we only wished it was longer so we had more time to enjoy the area. Our host was very helpful suggesting a great restaurant and directing us to some beautiful hikes that we could walk to right from the front door. The rooms were comfortable and larger than most we encountered so it was nice to spread out a little. We loved the balcony and there was a great outdoor space. Breakfast was also delicious and plentiful - freshly made with many options. We also appreciated the espresso machine! We enjoyed chatting with the host who grew up in the area. We highly recommend. Plivitice entrance 1 was about 10 minutes drive.

Of all the places we stayed during our 10 days in Croatia, this was the nicest place. The breakfast in the morning far exceeded expectations and worth the 8euro/person. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and all the amenities. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful with planning our trip to Plitvice in the morning and recommended a few restaurants and a market to pick up essentials for our time at the waterfalls. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed so far on our Croatian road trip. Villa Stone was a very well kept place and our hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly. They could not do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The rooms were spacious and well styled with funky wooden clad walls and comfy beds. We would highly recommend this as your choice of accomodation for your trip to Plitvice lakes. If you want to eat then Plumb Cafe, 2 minutes drive away, is a must. Food is spot on.

Beautiful Hotel next to Plitvice Lakes National Park. We stayed the night before visiting the National Park so we could visit the Park early in the morning. The Hotel is beautiful and very comfortable, very clean and everything looks like new. The staff is very friendly and helpful, immediately we felt at home and wished we had more days and could stay an extra night. Breakfast in the morning was superb,, there was everything we wanted, fuit, pastries, breads, eggs...etc.. and more and they even brought chocolate crepes to the table. I would love to come back and stay here again for a few nights. The quality of the place is excellent and I am very happy I chose the place for our stay!!

Stayed here overnight after my visit to Plitvice National Park. While on way I was thinking where is the map taking me, but when I reached here and saw the area and the property felt like I was in Switzerland. Rooms are extremely well kept and comfortable. Our stay at Villa stone was extremely relaxing as hotel is extremely quiet and right next to Pletvice National Park. Be sure to visit the little village of Rastoke and swim in river next to the bridge in Slung. Amazing! Our kids loved the experience!
