The place, although charming, is a bit nun down unfortunately. The staff is helpful but we needed to drive 20 minutes for dinner.

Not a hotel. It is at best a B&B. No restaurant or bar and in the middle of nowhere. No food service other than a woeful breakfast. Rooms are very basic. It is in fact a charity providing accommodation for children with dementia. That's fine - but none of the above transparent on Expedia or website.

We were disappointed with several aspects of our stay. Although Room 9 was spacious, it was very basic, and the overall condition of the property left much to be desired. The towels provided were old and torn, and the shower was rusted with barely any water pressure. The chateau itself appeared poorly maintained and quite run-down, giving the impression of a lack of strong and caring management. During a walk in the otherwise beautiful forest nearby, we were disheartened to see construction waste dumped along the road. Additionally, the reception was not staffed when we checked out, so we had to leave our room key on the front desk.
While the property carries the name of a chateau, the experience unfortunately does not live up to it — especially not at the $200 price point. If the original owner who donated it were to see the current state of maintenance, they would likely be disappointed. The atmosphere, which is meant to be peaceful and tranquil, was disrupted by a group of young men walking around playing loud music.
Although free car charging is provided , the outlet is outdated and incompatible with most modern electric vehicles, making it of little practical use.
On the positive side, we arrived late but received clear instructions for accessing the room after hours, which was helpful. The breakfast was decent and sufficient to start the day.

Absolutely amazing and much cheaper than an equivalent hotel in the UK. Bedroom was huge and spotless. It was a super king double, with lovely views over the countryside. The continental breakfast was superb. There is no kettle in the room, but you do have access to a kettle outside, so bring your own tea and coffee.

Lovely 3 star Hotel located in the Countryside near Angers. The Hotel is operated by an Agency that provides care for children that require specual care and this is supported by the revenue generated by the Hotel. Wonderful reason to stay

Great Off the Beaten Path!
Briancon is an opportunity to stay out in the countryside. The Chateau still operates partly as a school for children with disabilities and has been converted from dormitories into lovely large and gracious rooms. The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. They do speak some English! We had a VERY large room with a beautiful view over the countryside. The bed was a king and we had a twin cot pulled in for our 5 year old. There was still plenty of room for him to play on the rug and we had a picnic dinner out on the front lawn. I would recommend that dinner choices in Off Season are hard to come buy unless you go into Samur or Angers. Bathrooms were new and lots of hot water. Breakfast was delfightful!!

The Chateau is a historical property that has been completely modernised inside and now provides modern comfortable rooms for guests. We really enjoyed the stay, the rooms were spacious, the continental breakfast was just right. The service at the front desk was quick and friendly as wel. Highly recommend if you are passing through this part of the Loire Valley!

IT was just outstanding. Spending the night in a French Castle, in a vast room with separate bath room and toilet already puts you in a good mood. Then, we had a walk in the forest that starts after the park and a good night sleep in the complete quietness of the country side. A great place to relax.

De passage dans la région pour raisons professionnelles, j'ai été charmé par le château de Briançon. Certes, un peu isolé en pleine campagne, mais avec un cadre tellement reposant.
Les chambres sont très spacieuses, décorées avec goût et simplicité, et la literie très confortable.
Le buffet du petit déjeuner est simplement excellent avec du choix et des produits de qualité.
J'y reviens sans hésitation lors de mon prochain passage dans la région, d'autant plus que cet hôtel est géré par une association et que les bénéfices servent à l'accueil d'enfants en difficulté sociale.

Le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est que la façade a du cachet ! Cependant, ne pas s'attendre à une demeure seigneuriale, le château a été un lieu d'accueil parascolaire et cela se voit dans les communs. Pour les chambres, elles sont grandes et propres, sans fioritures également. Nous n'avons pu profiter du restaurant car nous sommes venus le jour de fermeture. Environnement très calme.

Des chaises longues et salons de jardin sont à disposition et un service de bar et de plateaux repas est proposé tout les jours. L'hôtel est proche d'Angers et de nombreux châteaux à visiter. Le château est idéal pour un séjour reposant en amoureux avec de grandes chambres et un lit très confortable. La salle de bain est très propre et la douche à l'italienne est très appréciable.
