Clean, comfortable, cozy stay

We came to Hotel Astoria for one night to see Taylor Swift in Milan. Check-in was quick. AC worked great and was nice and cool throughout the night. The bed was comfy and the bathtub was spacious. We'd definitely stay here again, but it is far outside the center of Milan, so unless you need to be in San Siro I'd find elsewhere.

Everybody was nice and friendly even the housekeeping crew. The hotel isn’t in the city centre but the hotel is across the street from a bus stop and a train line so you can get everywhere very easily. A 24 hour metro pass is only 7€. This hotel was amazing and should/could easily be a 4.5-5 star hotel

Took over an hour for check in

I dont know why i even booked this hotel. For some reason i thought it was closer to the city centre. But its over an hour away. Plus the area is pretty sketchy. When i finally found this place, there was over 20 people surrounding the front desk and yelling about the bed mixups. I had to wait for over an hour as the employee tried to straighten everything out. I only had 1 day in milan so the length of time it took me to find this hotel, plus the long wait time to check in made my 1 day in milan a waste. Best part is when they finally checked me in they kept reminding me that i dont get the breakfast in the morning. Good to know. Then they spent a considerable amount of time trying to convince me to buy the breakfast option. Maybe they should be offering such things for free when they inconvenience their guests this much. These companies are getting greedier and greedier. Never again would i go here.

Clean comfortable room's, well equipped bathrooms and complimentary tea and coffee making facility in the room. Lifts to all floors. Breakfast available, though no other restaurant facilities. There is however a supermarket next-door and my room had a fridge so that's a bonus. 10 minute walk from the tube or get the 91 bus in either direction. Very helpful staff.

This is a 3 star hotel with the service of a 4 star, the staff is their bigger asset, they really make you feel at home, especially the kitchen staff. Clean, modern, well maintained, excellent breakfast, public transportation right in front of the hotel, supermarket right besides hotel.

Very good for city break

I use this hotel for a city break in Milano. It was very good location for what I need. Easy to go by stadium Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro), 6 tram station. Three subway station around 300 meters. Breakfast was very good with all kind a food. Very good expresso. Personal very nice and ready to find a solution for everything you need.

Trip for Inter v Juve

The hotel itself is a little further out from the city centre but it has many metro station within walking distance (Segesta, Lotto, Tre Torre, Amendola). The hotel is however in perfect location to attend a game at San Siro, which was the main reason for my trip. There are many cafes and bar around as well as a supermarket next door if you want to put some beer in your room fridge. I would really recommend this hotel

My room was ready before check-in started which was nice and the staff were friendly. Room was clean but small. The fan and AC did not work in the room and was hot. I didn't end up getting charged extra but when I was checking out, someone had charged the room for breakfast I never ate. Staff cleared up the mistake but still odd.

Business trip to Milan Congress MiCo

The hotel was very clean, and mostly the staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfectly quiet due to secondary glazing, no traffic noise from the busy road.
There is no air conditioning, and overall the decor is quite dated.
The breakfast was fresh and with an excellent choice.

One downside to the room was the air conditioning, it wasn’t the most powerful, however, we would definitely stay again and we would recommend to friends and family.

The hotel is in a quiet part of the city,yet had access to bus and subway services to the central part of the city. Breakfast had a nice variety of items to choose from, buffet-style. The only negatives were noise from an adjacent room (which the hotel staff promptly handled) and view from the window. The room itself was quite comfortable.

Old fashioned, tiny bathroom

The hotel is incredibly dated, with dark wood and dark green finishes. I booked a queen room, in the hope of getting one of the modern ones shown in one of the photos on the website (sadly, this didn't work). The bed was two singles pushed together, not a double. There were about 8 hangers in the wardrobe but nowhere to put folded items (underwear etc) as there are no drawers and all the shelves in the wardrobe are taken up with spare bedding. I liked the window shutters (not very glamorous looking but effective) and the bed, despite the join, was comfy. The room was also very clean.
The bathroom looked new but had too much fitted into the small space. It was impossible to sit \"normally\" on the toilet because it was so close to the bath that I would have to hang my legs over the edge of the bath or sit almost sideways. The bidet is in the space where you would normally get out of the shower. The shower is in the middle of the bathtub so the showerhead had to be sprayed into the corner in order to avoid soaking the floor. The hairdryer is one of the kind that is fixed to the wall, rather like a vacuum cleaner. Not very powerful but good enough.
Reception staff were friendly and made the effort to greet guests.
Breakfast is fine. It would be nice if the boiled eggs weren't always cold and if there was better quality bread for toasting.
If I could find somewhere else to stay in the area I would, though it seems that many hotels in this part of Milan is similarly dated.

Great location at reasonable price

Very good access to both of San Siro soccer stadium and center of Mirano. Supermarket is next. Breakfast buffet was good, better than expected. Fresh squeezed juice is served.
They have a contracted parking nearby or you can park your car in front of the hotel free of charge if you are lucky.

I would recommend for car trippers and soccer&sightseeing tourists.

The hotel is doable if you need a place to sleep and don't care about luxury. However, I probably would have given higher scores if it was less than a 10-15 walk to the metro stations. There was a weird smell on my floor. Luckily it was not in the room. I did like the modern bathrooms and toiletries provided, but the bedroom could have been better. It seemed old and the rooms are really small. Like I said, it fulfills the basic need of sleeping in a hotel. The free breakfast is a plus. I used my free nights here, so I'm not disappointed with the hotel, but satisfied. However, I probably would use my free nights next time at a hotel that's more convenient to a metro station and has more space. If you are looking for a good hotel that you just need a place to sleep in Milan, and want the basic needs of a hotel, I highly recommend this place.

Attending a conference

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while attending a conference. I was very satisfied with the stay considering the price: little less than $100 a night which was very competitive compared to other hotels near the conference. Walkable distance to MiCo to attend the conference. The immediately surrounding area is nothing much to speak of with just a few restaurants, but Milan is well connected by public transport and the metro station was also easy to access by walk from the hotel.

Breakfast was decent if not great. But considering it is included in the price i can't really complain again. Room cleaning was done well and room service was also prompt. Bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable. However, I got a free upgrade to a larger room so my experience may have been a little better.

The highlight of the hotel i would say though is the staff. The various staff handling the desk all spoke English fairly well which was important to me. Moreover, they were all very helpful and courteous with one of them also going out of her way to do a huge favor for me when i had an issue with the metro tickets.

I would definitely recommend this if you are on a budget and helpful English speaking staff is important to you.

Overall it is a good stay at Hotel Astoria. Amenable staff and great service. They tried their best to make my stay comfortable. Stayed in a single room. Room was spacious and clean. But shower was really small. I had to attend conference in MiCo. Metro is not nearby. However, there is a tram nearby and connects with many important places. Wifi is good and free. Breakfast is fulfilling. Had good places to eat around. Even though not a fancy place, it is cosy and comfortable. The hotel did not provide drinking water. I had to buy it from the minibar or the vending machine next door.

We took the train in and it was a 15min walk from the station. The hotel is a bit old and needs some renovations but it was really clean. The breakfast was included and was good. They had the best cappuccino I've ever had in Italy. The hotel staff was really nice. There is a grocery store right next door.

We loved the hotel breakfast and late-night snacks at the bar. The rooms are tiny but clean, and the doors are a bit thin, which makes them loud, but the rooms come with an iHome with white noise settings so we slept very comfortably. The neighborhood is a short subway ride from the Duomo but also walkable! Would stay again.

A Business Standard Hotel

Overall a great stay in this business style hotel although we are in vacation trip. Helpful staffs, good breakfast with sufficient foods for basic needs. The only minus I would think of is the shower room was a little bit tiny, similar to you might have in a cruise. The daily parking fees is 13 euro seems to be higher; yet, since it is in Milan which I think is still acceptable.

Had a few days away exploring Milan, although not right in the centre only a short journey on tram 16 or trolleybus 90 & 91 from Central Station took us straight to the Hotel Astoria. Staff were all friendly, room was small but very comfortable. bed was firm and the bonus of air conditioning. Electric shutters on the windows gave a nice dark room to sleep well! Breakfast was included and was one of the best buffet breakfasts I've had in a European city! We'll visit Milan again and will stay at the Astoria again if the price is right!

I enjoyed my stay here as a base after flying from the states to Milan and will be staying again on my way out. It's not too far off the metro M1 line so I used the metro pass for travel. It's near the soccer stadium and fair grounds if that is what you are looking for. Breakfast was great with a large selection. Coffee seemed to be available from the machine all day. Staff was helpful. They have a map for a 10k running loop. (I walked it and it was a great way to see non-tourist Milan. Not much really close by except for the fair grounds. Supermarket about a mile away.

Great breakfast selections, comfortable bed and clean bathroom! The staff were all very helpful!! The Internet was easy to access but signal strength was limiting the applications I needed for work somewhat. It would have been nice to have in room hot water for tea or coffee in the evening (maybe there was some but I didn't notice it) I've stayed at other Best Westerns in europe which provided this as well as an evening shortbread or biscuit which was nice after a long day at our conference.

Nicest people ever!

On April 30 my wife and I stayed for one night at Best Western Astoria in Milan. Unfortunately, the next morning I woke up really sick, with a severe kidney pain. I was really touched by the kindness of the hotel's manager who came up to our room, offered her help and support and, above all, showed her sympathy. I will never forget her kindness and I really want to thank her again and again. Her kindness and that of her staff are the best publicity for this hotel.

Overall a good stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Bar was good too. There was a problem with a previous guest claiming that they left some clothes in our room, and the manager had to disturb us three times to prove to them that their clothes were not in the room. But the staff accommodated by giving us two free drinks. The hotel was just a few blocks to the Metro and the neighborhood was OK.

Hotel Astoria - close to San Siro Stadium

The hotel was just a 15 minute from the San Siro. It was also very convenient for us for other personal reasons. In addition, at the rear of the hotel, the No. 16 tram is ideal for getting into the city centre or the nearest subway is a 10 minute walk away. The hotel room was clean and had a nice modern decor, but the room was extremely tight. There was only one english speaking channel on the TV, CNN, but hey, you don't travel abroad to watch TV. The bathroom was also spotless. We had breakfast included in our price, and there was a good selection available, and breakfast was served right up to 10.30am, which was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially at reception. Overall, this hotel suited our needs, we would recommend it to people who are in town for the football or maybe business. As a romantic desination, I would suggest a hotel closer to city centre with bigger rooms.

it is too far from the train station and everywhere you wish to go in Milan. The room I stayed the draining system is not working too good. Talk about the breakfast, the waiter told me because my room includes continental breakfast only, so on the buffet table what I can and can not eat. Poor management,also their Internet is not free. It did not indicated that they will charge the wireless internet when I booked it. No, I will not go back to that Hotel. The people and service was not bad at all, I think it is the management problem. I stayed there only because I already paid for it and do not want to go through the problems to deal with cancellation refund.

Location at a good distance from the Leonardo da Vinci museum and San Siro stadium. Bed and pillows were hard and parts of the breakfast (ham, cheese, eggs) were not included in \"continental\" but cappucino is. Help with taxi service was spotless and in general everything worked well.

Best Western Astoria Hotel in Milan

The Hotel was very nice, Overall. The people at the front spoke perfect English, which was great for travellers. They offered Continental Breakfast in the morning, which was nice too. And they called you a Taxi if you need one and they give you the exact time it is arriving ... usually in less than 4 minutes. All good things. The only negatives I can say is that the bed wasnt very comfortable at all. Rather hard and stiff. Also the elevators are very very tiny (i think normal for Italy) so If u have a lot of stuff, you might have trouble getting it all upstairs. Plus, although the neighborhood is nice, there isnt all that much to do around the Hotel. You're going to need to travel via Cab or Subway to get anywhere interesting.
