I stayed at the hotel for 5 days, to begin with, I asked for a non-smoking room and I had to be transferred on day two to another one because the people above me were smoking and the smoke came into my room. The entire staff speaks very poor English and it is truly hard to communicate with them. Although I encountered the above issues, the quality of the food was excellent, and the chef's staff was truly cordial and knowledgable.

Everything about the hotel is perfect except the location. The staffs are friendly. The room is huge and very clean. The price is much cheaper than average hotel in city center.

The price is reasonable because the National Convention & Exhibition center is far from city. So basically it is in the middle of nowhere. You cannot find any restaurant or shopping mall or supermarket nearby. And the distance to exhibition center is not as near as it seems. You have to walk under the sun for 15 minuets.
Maybe I rather stay a bit far and took a cab everyday.

I stayed in this hotel 4 days . It has beautiful facilities and excelent room . Breakfast also very good .
But I want to leave this msg to the German staff who rules the hotel: People at Reception , Concierge and Bellboys ; they barely speak english ; and the personal who really does ; have a heavy chinesse accent , this means that our way to communicate and try to have a pleasant stay was maddening .
It feels terrible ; such an impotence not to understand, read or try to be understood in this class of hotel who is supposed to be very good.
I strongly suggest the people who wants to go to Convention Center in Shanghai think twice in choosing this hotel .
Please give urgent english lessons and soft their Chinese accent!! It’s a Must !!!

cigarette smoke smell in room
There was heavy cigarette smoke smell in the room, although the hotel claims no smoke for all rooms. The room was hot, and its air conditioner wasn’t working properly for whatever reason.

The air conditioning was set to 26 degrees, no matter what does your control device says in your room....you just can't change it. It was sert centrally.
It made me and my wife so uncomfortable to sleep in such a high temperature.
Complained to the front desk but was told nothing they can do but offering us a FAN in stead...what a joke.
From the moment you stepped off the MTR train, then you would be required at least 20 mins of walk until you can get to the hotel.
Also, the pool wasn't really ready yet and it is not mentioned on the website when I was making my booking
