This was a perfect stay for me. The room was large, cleaned daily with fresh towels. The breakfast was good with all options, meat, cheese, pastries cereal, fruit , yogurt. The breakfast room was ver pretty. The location was on the main street, walkable with shops, restaurants, wine bars, book stores etc. Many sites are walkable from the hotel. There is an airport bus across the street , taxis, post office and two amazing cafes downstairs. Oh yes, a gorgeous botanical garden across the street. The staff were good. The self check in was no problem and I got into my room fine after 7 pm. The instructions were very detailed.

My room had no real view but inner courtyard and rooftops. Maybe higher floor rooms have a view.I did not care as the city has so much to see. The bed and pillows were nice. There is a kettle, bottle opener, tea bags in the room. A small safe too. They can arrange trips or airport runs for you.

There is no elevator so you must be able to carry your own bags. The wifi was not working. They are aware and trying to resolve. The cafes at the bottom of the building and many places have free wifi so no big deal. I think most people have their own data. I am not tech savvy so did not plan for that.

I was happy with the hotel and would tell others or stay again. Thanks for everything Etna Suites and staff. I loved it and had a wonderful holiday.

The location was good, right across the street from Villa Bellini park and was walkable to sights. There was a parking lot nearby at a reasonable price. The breakfast was plentiful and the room was spacious.
However, the mattress was lumpy, there was no lift, and the WiFi was unpredictable. Their router could not connect you to the internet. Moving into the hallway helped at bit but even when sitting in their office area WiFi connection was lost. We told them about the issue.

I love the tub, but it would’ve been nice to be informed of the traffic on that road on a Saturday. We almost thought we were entering into a festival with people walking all over the streets. We wondered if we should’ve even been driving on that road in front of the hotel. When I asked, they said it is normally heavy traffic on Saturday, but we were not warned of the foot traffic on that road.

A fantastic location with a view overlooking the beautiful gardens. Alfredo at the reception was friendly very helpful and was there to assist in all queries and touring needs with his very personable nature. This was really a great professional asset. Loved the contemporary feel of the hotel and the relaxed nature without the business of life outside. Great cafes and restaurants all around. Would definitely stay there again if in Catania.

The worker there is incredibly helpful. He booked us a taxi, helped us with food spots, upgraded our room and was overly accommodating. The outside looks a little dirty but it is on the main road across from the park which is nice. The inside is a little worn and old. We only stayed one night so it was fine but just to set expectations. Our room faced the park and it was not loud.

I always have a hard time finding a hotel when traveling since I don’t know the area. Etna Suites was a perfect choice! We arrived late from Washington DC, after their hours, they sent complete directions on how to access the hotel. The room was quite roomy along with a large private bathroom. The a/c was strong! I didn’t have much interaction with the front desk, we didn’t need to. But they are there if you need anything. This was a great area for walking to shop/eat/explore. Their breakfast was quite good. I would stay here again with no hesitation. Thank you!!!

The bus from the airport stops practically infront of the accommodation. Staff were very helpful.
Located just a beautiful 10min stroll to the center of town.

Having visited Catania many times before, I knew this was where I wanted to be i.e. walking distance from all the best restaurants and main points of interest. As a bonus, the staff were all very friendly and professional. The room was more than adequate for my needs, everything worked. The only caveat is for those wanting peace and quiet, as they might hear other guests coming and going at all hours.

If you want to stay downtown it’s a good location. City is quite dirty and has a lot of beggars. I live in a large city so I know that’s not unusual but was surprising considering everywhere else we visited. Our room was very clean but balcony was dirty and facing an area that wasn’t pleasant to look at. Staff was helpful.

The check in was very easy. The front desk lady seemed annoyed by everyone and everything.

The breakfast was tasty! Just enough to get you started for the day. The man tending to the room was very kind and attentive. Loved him!

There was no WiFi in the entire building. That was frustrating as i was trying to coordinate with my friends flying in.

The stairs were endless to the rooms, and with luggage it was not a fun trip up and down.

Cute but only if you don’t want to talk to the outside world or have luggage.

This is a small boutique hotel. There is no elevator and we were on the 4th floor with 2 fifty pound suitcases. The entry door was not esthetic but the room was nice and the AC was great. The breakfast was nice, typical for Europe. There is no room service and for late night snacks, make sure you bring your own. There is a refrigerator and safe in the room, which we appreciated.

Nice large room, great part of city center. Quiet for the most part. Nice black out shutters. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast is a typical European breakfast with mostly pastries and some boiled eggs. Coffee was good at breakfast. Unfortunately they do not give any coffee options for you in the room even though they have tea and a kettle. If you want coffee, and you didn’t make to breakfast on time, you will need to get dressed and go out of the hotel to find it.
It was nice they left free pastries at the front lobby.
Cleaning lady only swept floor one time in 7 days, so my feet were really dusty. I had to wear socks or my feet were really dirty

Rough start with stay at Etna Suite

Rough start but finished nicely. Was traveling with 2 year old and had requested a pack n play when booked hotel. We arrived and were informed that their pack n play was broken and they couldn't provide one until the next night. This was unacceptable to us since the room had steps up to the main bedroom. The staff member said she would go out and buy a new one except she couldn't leave her desk. We said we would buy it as long as they reimbursed us but they refused. Then they said they didn’t have to provide one since I hadn't requested it prior to arrival. When I showed them my message to them over 2 1/2 months earlier for a pack n play, they said that they thought that referred to parking. In the end they provided a pack n play on our first night but we wasted 2 hours fighting with them and it could have and should have been handled better. The rest of our stay was fine - nice room and good breakfast.

Hotel clean and tidy and when windows closed it blocks out almost all the traffic noise- even the police sirens.

The property was located in a central place. That was the only good thing about the property. Food was Ok. First day they asked and made us Cappuccino but from the second day no one even bothered to ask.

The room was just OK but what I did not like is that the room was full of black bugs crawling everywhere. The bugs were in the bathroom near the shower and sink and near the bed and crawling all over. I first thought the bugs were only in the bathroom but then saw them everywhere. This was really bad.
I took some videos of the bugs crawling and can send it if you would like to look at it.

Also, there was construction work going on all the time at this place and workers were there on the stairs and corridors fixing the walls for painting and other repairs or just walking by here and there. It was very irritating and frustrating to see the workers in the hallways all the time and it was such a nuisance.

I will never again stay at this hotel.

Staff were friendly and helpful. They sent instructions beforehand. When i couldnt understand the lady on the phone, she sent me the message in a whatsapp message.

The room itself was nicely decorated and clean. Bed comfy enough. View from the balcony was poor (just a shabby grey building and a tin roof).
Air con worked well.

The bathroom was nice and clean also. Shower was one of the overhead 'rain' showers, which isn't my preference in a small cubicle as there is always water hitting your face. Better to just have a normal shower head in there imo.

Breakfast was lovely. Great selection. Cereals, breads, doughnuts, meats, cheeses, fruit, cakes, cannolis, coffee, juices etc.

Only real downsides to the room were that the emergency light in the room had a green power LED that was on all the time. This lit the room up like a Christmas tree at night and contributed to 2 poor nights sleep. Before the 3rd night, I stuck a makeshift light blocker up and slept much better (pack some card and tape for this purpose).
Another downside is that it's quite a noisy hotel. The metal grate downstairs that leads to the stairs of the hotel slammed shut on numerous occasions (apparently I was one of the only guests to have a bit of consideration and close it gently...), which could be heard as a big bang in my room. Other doors could be heard closing loudly in the evening/night as well. Maybe the hotel needs to invest in some soft closings for the doors (especially the metal gate).
