Market under widows every day atound 5 am wake up. Not frendly staff. Not cleaning 4-5 days. Ask always towels change. Not happy about any service. Di not speak or understand english. Ask always cash for coffee 3 times expensive .never usrd breakfast. Just go to cafee across 2 min. City tax asked to pay in cash 3 euro per night and person . But city tax is 1.5 euro we found out.

I purposely booked a hotel rather than another rental for this first night as I wanted a front desk on staff. There was No One there upon arrival. We had to call someone via what's ap. Luckily my phone worked internationally or we would have been unable to get in.

Once in, we were asked when we wanted breakfast, so we set it up for 8am. Again the next morning, no one was present at the front desk. in fact no one was there our entire stay. We ended up leaving the keys in the room.

Also the air conditioner in the room was basically non functional. We had it set to 16 degrees and it felt like 24 the entire time. We were able to open the windows in the middle of the night but in the early morning hours they began setting up the market on the street below, so due to noise we had to close those again.

Overall pick somewhere else. This is not a true hotel at all.

The property was dirty with rusted shower head, broken lights, dirty shower tray, cigarettes in the toilet, marks on wall, open roof hatch, broken door and marked bedding. The room smelt strongly of smoke and the windows were dirty. We did not stay and had to find alternative accommodation. The bed could not be used as it was so dirty and the shower unsafe. I have stayed in basic hotels before but this was dirty, smelly and unsafe.

Good for price but do not expect much

They told us that checkin is available since 9pm however there was nobody in 8pm. I had to call staff and thankfully she explained to me how to make self checkin. That was not a good start however the next day they kindly offered a free breakfast.
Bed was not comfortable however, all other stuff was nice.
lady in the reception was so kind , and helpful.

For the undemanding.

Fantastic location. Everywhere nearby. We were in December, so the radiators were a big plus, which were only on the first day, but there was also air conditioning that could be heated at night.
Towels not changed even once for a 3 night stay. The room was only cleaned once (after the second night).
The big downside was the terrible stench upon entering the hotel. The smell was no longer felt in the room.

Cheap cheerful with friendly staff

A group of us came over to Catania to take part in Etna parkrun. We chose this hotel due to it being close to Catania centre and the value plus the fact we could book all the rooms so it was just us. The hotel staff were very friendly and helped us with anything we needed. The only downside we had was the market was right outside the hotel so every 5am some of our party were woken by the noise of them setting up.

Check in was easy and staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the room was spacious and comfortable, the shower area has a lot of mold. Shower Screen was not very effective and could do with replacement. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was average typicla of Italian Hotels. Location was very good with easy access to the city area and restaurants. Hotel is dated and tired needs a refurb. However overall we were happy with our stay. If arriving by car be aware that the streets around the hotel are taken up by daily markets from 5am to 2pm.

Catania chaos and nightmare.

Everybody should know that this hotel is in the middle of a big daily market that lasts from 5am to 2pm. It is impossible to get there by car in those hours.
It is difficult to read the street names because the stands cover them. A nightmare.
The surrounding area is a representation of all third worlds.
And to consider that Catania in that area is highly congested even without the market.
Save yourself unnecessary aggravations. Stay out of Catania and go into the city on a public bus.

Conveniently located comfortable 3-star hotel

I'm quite satisfied with my stay in this hotel, even though I have some critics too, but they are more about the neighborhood than about the hotel.

The hotel is not big (actually occupies the second floor in a building).

The first thing you need to know is that you shouldn't look for a big sign, but for a small plate by the door. The second warning is about the reception working hours, which are only 6-21. So for late arrivals or extremely early check-outs you might have some problems.

Apart from that, everything in the rooms looks and feels good, breakfast is nice for Italy and a 3-star property, and the service is the best of all - including the English everybody there speaks.

The good things... Free breakfast, free and fast wifi, very convenient location, just meters from one of the stops of the airport bus (named Alibus). Walking distance to the historic center (less than 1 km, via one of the main shopping streets in Catania).

The not so good... At first the area doesn't look very well - not too clean, with a lot of street vendors around, mostly African migrants, but actually they proved to present no security risk whatsoever - and there is enough police everywhere. Also the distance to the extraurban bus and train stations is 1.2 km and one day there will be metro to there, but it's not working yet - and because Google knows nothing about the local transport options, you'll most probably have to walk.

Great little hotel/B&B in the heart of Catania

Nice hotel, perfect for visiting Catania and being in the heart of the attractions. Not very close to the beaches but still centrally located.
Rooms were nice and clean, decent size. Could have used some better pillows or more pillows....front desk was closed by the time I realized this fact, so perhaps if I would have asked they would have supplied more.
The staff I had exposure to was very helpful,checking in was smooth. He was able to help me with arranging a taxi to airport at 4:30am. Fixed rate was 30 euro. Seemed steep but not a lot of options at that time of the day. Took us about 12-15 mins to get to airport - obviously no traffic at that time.

I went for a short break with my family, perfect locations, every shop is walking distance. The charming market is under the hotel so you won't have any problem finding it. The Hotel staff is very help full and the rooms are spacious and tidy. We had no noise issues although it is in the very centre of Catania. Thank you Santo for our stay, see you soon.

Advertised city view was not observable from our room. Disappointing. Downside: noisy setting up of market stalls in street below our room from 05.00 ensured that we did not sleep in! Good staff with good english. Taxi fare from train station is approx €8. If ordering a taxi through hotel insist on taxi with meter rather than a courtesy car @ €25!!

Nothing works

This hotel takes up the second floor of a buisiness building near the market. From my window menacing men waved and invited me down if I didn't keep my window closed. I tried to watch the Euro Cup game on my TV, but it did not even turn on. They moved me and all of the things I had unpacked to a different room, this one had a TV that lost its signal every 15 seconds. There was a mini refiridgerator which also did not work. They took great pains to type up and put in plastic a list of emergency numbers next to the phone along with how to make a call, but the phone line was dead. I asked the man and young woman who hang out in the lobby watching TV and eating pizza if I could get a refund for the second day so that I could check into a real hotel since none of the amenities listed on the website were available and was told \"no refunds\" by the young woman . I had hot water on the first morning for a shower, but the water was cold for the next 30 hours, even if you let it run for 5 or 10 minutes, no hot water. Giorgia, who is at the desk in the morning, is the only employee who should not be fired. She is very polite and helpful.

It's in the middle of the street market and shopping district. If you're looking for something, anything this is the place. There is a large parking structure near the hotel with reasonable rates.

There was a water problem during my stay but the staff attended to it quickly. Still enjoyed my stay.

The hotel was a little difficult to find because it was inconspicuous, especially when markets were blocking the entrance. The hotel staff were very friendly in helping us find buses from Catania to other cities. The rooms were decent and clean. It was a very enjoyable stay, especially for that price.

The hotel is on the first floor and the signs are not clearly visible. Looks out for the Hotel's flags at 1st floor level for quick locating. A market operates outside the hotel daily and setting up sounds can be heard in the mornings.

It was a great location close to historic district and street markets set up directly outside. Hotel is on second level of building similar to many places I've stayed in Sicily. The owner is a genius hiring all these gorgeous girls working there lol. But they were professional and friendly and one spoke English fluently. Best location to explore Catania!

I was in Catania for 4 days to attend a wedding and associated festivities. This was the perfect location and everything I needed, especially to sleep in late (blackout curtains, AC, quiet, etc.) The staff was super helpful and even let me store my luggage until my room was ready (I showed up at 7am) so I could go explore the old part of the city, which is only a few blocks away. Hotel is located in a great area with an outdoor market just outside the door, cafe/bars across the street and an awesome grocery store 1.5 blocks down.

Nice hotel at the heart of Catania

Very good budget hotel at the centre of Catania. The host Giuseppe speaks very well in English, which is very rare in most Sicilian hotels. He was extremely helpful during our stay, going out of his way to help us. The beds are comfortable, the washrooms are very clean, the location is ideal. There is noise outside from pubs but you can't expect it to be quiet in the centre of Catania. I think that rooms that face the interior courtyard are probably quieter than those facing the street. The hotel is located on the 6th floor of a building and the facilities were great for us. There were also very good snacks provided in a fridge in our room that were included in the price...that and the free tea/coffee really made a difference to us.

Pleasant evening in a crowded Sicilian city

This would have been a great place for a walk around central Catania. Unfortunately I arrived late and had an early flight. What I did enjoy about my visit was my early-morning walk around the open-air market which I saw being set up from my second-floor (Euro-first floor) window. Clean, very pleasant staff who wanted to ensure a good stay.

If you must have the standard American hotel experience, move on. This is Europe and the hotel is located on the 2nd floor of a normal building. It seems strange but it's very nice. The breakfast was good and the wifi is strong. It's also one block from a 24/7 parking structure. Don't park on the street as in the morning there is a street market and you'll be trapped.

Convenient budget hotel in Catania

The hotel is on the second floor of what seems to be an office building by the outdoor market just east of the Via Etnea and just north of the Corso Sicilia. Simple but comfortable and was quiet at night (although the market vendors start setting up early, around 6 or 6:30 am). I was satisfied with the price-value equation, and breakfast was satisfactory.

Great hotel & great location

This was the best hotel experience I have had. The owners, Alessio and Gabriele, were incredibly helpful, as a non-Italian speaking, solo traveler they helped so much in getting me to where I wanted to go and suggesting places to eat and things to see. They were always ready with a genuine smile for all guests and would be incredibly efficient if you had any need. I plan on going back to Sicily someday (after I've been to a couple of other places I also need to see) and when I do I will definitely choose this hotel again.

The location is exactly where I needed to be. Close to the center where you have the best architecture, food and drink and there are two main bus stations that can then take you to various other parts of Sicily such as Syracusa and Agrigento (both must sees) for little more than 9 Euros return. Also the staff will book your much needed tour to Mount Etna, this experience was like nothing else. I enjoyed it so much I went back twice!

This is a new hotel, and everything is very fresh. The staff are really friendly and helpful. As soon as I walked in the door I knew I had made a good choice. The recptionist made a great dinner recommentation.

The only problem I had was finding the hotel. The signage is not good, just a banner quite high up. As I wandered the area I thought I had made a bad mistake, but as soon as I found it all was well.

I didn't have the breakfast but it both looked and smelled wonderful.

(To find the hotel take the street via St. Maria Betlem to the right of the dual carriageway when heading away from station/airport, there are flags on the building. The same street is on both sides of the dual carriageway so it can be confusing).

Central location, convenient for site seeing

We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel centrally based close to the main attractions. This hotel was ideal. Everything we wanted to see was within 5 to 15 minutes walking distance.
The staff were very helpful and provided a useful map to help us plan our days. There was a local market nearby which was very interesting to shop at. There was a little bit of noise when the market set up / was dismantled, but this did not disturb us. In fact, it was quite entertaining to watch the market from the bedroom window.
Catania is a super place to visit and we found lots to do. We saw a ballet competition at the theatre, a religious procession followed by a service at the cathedral and an open air carol concert at the university square.
Breakfast at the hotel was a buffet which was pleasant.

the staff at the hotel were friendly and helped us enjoy our stay in catania by phoning up and checking on the internet for relevant information we needed (e.g. train and bus times ect)
The room was basic but clean. The only issue with it is that it was facing the market so a bit noisy
Breakfast was typically Sicilian which is sweet pasteries ect - this may come as a surprise for some.
Good strategic location - not far from station and old town. The area itself is a little down at heal but we felt ok - may seem a bit daunting if arriving when dark
Overall not a bad basic hotel with friendly staff

Alors, l'hôtel n'a pour lui que son emplacement dans la ville. Beaucoup d'endroit son accessible depuis l'hôtel à une trentaine de minutes à pied (parfois moins). Voilà c'est tout le positif à dire. L'ascenseur laisse la place à 1 personne plus valise, j'ai dû me battre chaque fois que je voulais fermé la porte de la chambre, selon comment je l'ai fermé rien qu'en poussant la porte je pouvais ouvrir la chambre ce qui m'a poussé à bloqué la porte avec une chaise quand on dormait. Mensonge dans les caractéristiques de l'hôtel, rien n'est insonorisé. Les draps étaient relativement propre (légère poussière dessus), j'ai trouvé un ongle sur ma table de nuit, nombreuses tâches sur les murs, parquet ravagé à certains endroit, les serviettes de bain avaient une odeur de saucisson, plus aucun joint dans la salle de bain, douche minuscule, le meuble où reposer le lavabo était déchiré à certains endroit, la cuvette des toilettes était pas à la bonne taille par rapport au WC ce qui rendait l'assise inconfortable. Bref sacré 3* cet hôtel.

Hôtel dans quartier pas très bien fréquenté mais en plein centre . Réceptionniste pas agréable . Chambre qui sent le tabac froid (rideaux et dessus de lit ) et nous attendons toujours notre petit déjeuner …… soit disant le petit déjeuner était servi à partir de 6h30 mais nous avons attendu jusqu’à 7h15 sans personne et aucun accès possible à un buffet . Scandaleux . Jamais personne dans cet hôtel désaffecté …. Il y a un frigo.

L'hotel Catania Town tre stelle non solo non è un tre stelle ma nemmeno un hotel. No capisco come abbia ottenuto le 3 stelle, non capisco alcune recensioni positive che ho letto. Ho prenotato rassicurato dalle tre stelle, dalle foto delle camere e dalla posizione centrale e dai controlli che Hotelcom pensavo facesse, invece, arrivato sul posto ho verificato che l'unica cosa buona \"vera\" era la posizione centrale (anche se in zona mercato molto rumorosa), per il resto ho trovato una situazione e una struttura vergognosa, assolutamente non da hotel ma pessima anche come pensione di bassa categoria, con camere brutte, sporche e con forte odore di fumo, per niente corrispondenti alle foto.

Nonostante avessimo prenotato 2 mesi prima, siamo stati avvisati solo un giorno prima del nostro arrivo che, a causa di un errore del sistema di prenotazione, avremmo dovuto trasferirci in un'altra struttura dopo una notte. Ci è stato assicurato che il personale dell'albergo si sarebbe occupato di gestire il trasferimento per le 10:30h. Purtroppo non è stato così. Ce ne siamo occupati noi insieme a una signora delle pulizie (molto gentile!) e in più abbiamo dovuto discutere con il gestore dell'altro B&B (che per fortuna ci è venuto incontro) per avere la camera prima delle 14h. Abbiamo perso mezza giornata di vacanza (naturalmente non rimborsata) in chiacchiere e arrabbiature.

It's a small, cozy and friendly hotel located in the town centre of Catania. It's very easy to each from the airport (airport bus) and the metro station is just 1 min by walk. You can easily reach the Central train station by taking the metro. There is a Penny supermarket very close to the hotel. During the day, there is also a market just in the same street of the hotel building so you will see the movement of the vendors and get a closer look of the life of Catania! We had breakfast included and the hotel gave us vouchers to use in a nearly bar so it's very convenient. From the hotel, you can easily walk to the town centre to see the fish market, Duomo, and loads of restaurants. People in Catania are so friendly and nice. We enjoyed very much our evening walk around the main streets near Duomo where people were playing music and painting pictures. From Catania, we booked a day tour to Etna and we spent another day in Taomina. Taomina is easy to reach either by bus or train and it's worth to visit!

No recomendable para más de una noche

No es recomendable para pasar más de una noche. Habitación limpia cunado lleas el primer día, al igual que el baño. Sin embargo, una vez allí, te enteras de que cambian las toallas cada tres días, al igual que las sábanas. Te hacen la cama rápidamente y no limpian nada más, ni el baño, ni nada. No son ni para vaciar las papeleras.
El desayuno es poco variado y escaso, con unidades contadas de cada producto, las cuales no reponen si se termina.

Una notte in vetrina

La posizione dell’hotel è davvero ottima, centralissima. La struttura però non è ben visibile dall’esterno, anche se si trova al primo piano di un palazzo. L’ambiente è pulito e le stanze molto grandi e confortevoli. Nella stanza una parete è sostituita da un’enorme vetrata che dà sulla strada ma che con la tenda è possibile coprire. Tre stelle meritate, rapporto qualità/prezzo ottima.

Skvělý hotel pro cestovatele, kteří chtějí poznat nejen město Catania, ale využít veřejnou dopravu (metro, vlak, autobus) k výletům do okolí (Siracusa, Ragusa, Caltagirone, Randazzo a další).
Hotel 50 metrů od zastávky ALIBUS (autobus na letiště) a metra. Na nádraží vlakové i autobusové jedna stanice metrem.
Hotel příjemný, vhodný spíše pro ty, co cestují a dříve vstávají - vzhledem k městskému trhu v okolí je třeba počítat s přiměřeným ranním a dopoledním hlukem.
Velmi milý a ochotný personál, dobrá snídaně, pokoj vybaven lednicí a varnou konvicí.

Hotel in posizione strategica per raggiungere il centro città.
Le camere sono spaziose.
La colazione è un pò minimale ma sufficiente.
La reception chiude alle 21:00 perciò vengono date le chiavi anche del portone per accedere al palazzo in cui è ubicato l'hotel.
Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo

地図上と場所が一致しなかったのか見つけづらく、何軒かの露店で聞いてようやく分かりました。広場からCorso Siciliaに入って左折して右側にありました。朝食も7時からと早く朝早くの出立でも食べそびれずに済みました。飛行場へのバス停も通りを渡ってすぐのところにありますし、スーパーのSimplyも近く、大変便利なロケーションです。前の道は夜間もやや明るく、朝方も早くから始動しますがわたしは気になりませんでした。なお、エレベーターは階段を半階分上ったところから始まります。湯量も十分で、冷蔵庫もあり、ラジエーターもあるのでこの価格帯にしては設備は整っている方だと思います。フロントも親切でした。

L'hôtel est proche du centre ville mais situé au 1er etage, juste au dessus d'un marché il est bruyant (au moins pour les chambres côté rue. Le personnel est accueillant. La propreté laisse à désirer (amas de poussière sur la grille de ventilation de la salle de bains, insecte mort resté au sol pendant les trois jours de mon séjour).

B & B in centro a Catania

L'unica cosa positiva di questo B & B è che si trova in pieno centro a Catania.
Per il resto la pulizia lascia molto a desiderare, la colazione è povera. Inoltre, il personale non presta attenzione agli alimenti serviti, gli yogurt erano scaduti da una settimana.
Il condizionatore non ha funzionato durante il soggiorno, il secondo giorno di permanenza, l'abbiamo fatto presente al personale della reception, che non ha provveduto né a ripararlo, né ad offrire un'alternativa.

“Great location and value for money ”

Stayed for one night.
The Alibus stops near the hotel so it's very convenient. You can walk to downtown in 15 mins. Staffs were very friendly. Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Value for money.

When we have booked. We chose 1 queen bed but there was not even 1 queen bed, we got only twin beds pushed together and it wasn't comfortable at all as there was always spece between 2 beds.

For overall, if you need somewhere to stay near the city and doesn't want to spend a big money. The hotel catania town is a good choice.

Stadtzentrum gelegenes Hotel

optimale Lage im Stadtzentrum, ein bisschen störend ist der Aufbau morgens um 05.00 Uhr des Tagesmarktes, jedoch nimmt man das in Kauf weil \"es gehört dazu\". Auch die nähe eines Parkhauses ist sehr Vorteilhaft.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und kompetent \"sehr zu empfehlen\".
