Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There was plenty of hot water in the roomy shower. The bed was very comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was replete with choice and the room itself was delightfully charming. The elevator was tight with luggage, but otherwise an easy ride. Our hosts were exceptionally helpful and kind. The location was terrific! We enjoyed our 6-day stay very, very much.

Firstly, the staff was excellent and the building beautiful. We did not have breakfast but could see what was pre prepped for the next day and the owner even allowed us to get coffee and a yogurt in the AM but we did not. We did get a water for the road. We had an early flight out the next morning, so we could not experience breakfast but I am sure it would have been quite a spread. Room was clean but warm so we opened our balcony window for the breeze but because of a festival going on, it was quite noisy at midnight. Parking was atrocious. The street it is on was lined with tents (closed vendors) where google maps wanted to take us. A local on the street did not let us squeeze down this street and because so many streets were one way or blocked created quite an issue to get there. At one point, the Nissan crossover could not fit around the corner of a street and we had to go up on a curb to turn the corner. This is not the fault of the owner. But simply if we would have know about closed streets, we would have not booked there. We did park on the street which since we were leaving the hotel at 6 AM, the owner said we should be fine. It appears that we were. Elevator was broken so we had to go up three flights of stairs with our luggage. Thank you to the owner for trying to make the accommodation the best he could in the given circumstance.

The property is in an ideal location with great transport links. I cannot fault the rooms or amenities, every need is catered for. Beds and pillows very comfy and a good breakfast selection in the beautiful dining room. The lovely owner greets you in the morning and is very helpful. If you prefer a traditional, historical and genuine Italian feel, then this is the accommodation for you.

I was awakened at 7 am by noise of people installing floors right next door to my room. It is not a hotel, just a whole bunch of rooms in one of the floors of a building. The description was misleading, stating that there was parking. I was not able to find parking within 500 meters of the room and ended up parking in the street risking a ticket or getting towed. Driving to the house was not safe with people in two different traffic lights wanting to to clean the car for money and getting upset when told not to.

Charming Hidden Gem.

This place is a lovely authentic gem. Beds where very comfortable, room was very clean, and the bathroom was recently furbished. The building does not have your typical hotel frontage with fancy foyer as you enter. But dont let that put you off.
The reception is on the second floor of this 200 year old building. So if you like charming old building with new upgrades, this place is worth a stay. Bonus points for being centrally located in the heart of Catania and the staff are absolutely lovely.

As an old castle, it has passages and rooms between bedrooms. Rooms are large; bathrooms have steps into them. Light fixtures are older, and lighting is somewhat limited in the rooms. The hotel concierge is very accommodating.

Would not recommend this hotel. I arrived with the taxi service provided by the hotel ( paid extra) and when I arrived I was not called to check in. Manager stated they had no water. Why did he not tell me this prior to after check in time. I was left with finding a last minute hotel at 6pm. Manager did offer another hotel but was not the same ratings as this one . Bad communication as I should of been told of this prior to arrival

A 20 room hotel on 2 floors with an elevator located in a palazzo owned by the Curia Family( owner is a Baron). Beautiful breakfast room painted with 100 year old murals in the Baroqe style. A wonderful breakfast buffet with pastries, cakes, fruit, cheeses, cured meats, juices , hard cooked eggs, yogurt, selection of coffees and teas and marinated vegetables and cold cereals. Excellent location in Center city. Manager is very helpful and friendly. My room was beautiful with a small balcony. Very clean. I recommend this hotel.

Interesting property with unique decor. My room had a view of a beautiful church building. Location is perfect, just a few steps from Etnea Road which is a very long street with lots of shops and restaurants.
Room was clean enough and the bed was comfortable. Modern bathroom and adequate towels. Staff could be a little bit more welcoming.

We really liked this hotel. It was spotlessly clean, quiet a nd with comfortable beds and we slept like logs. Staff very helpful and we appreciated the complimentary water and soft drinks. The location couldn't be better, right by via Etna - loved it, wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We traveling back home to USA after a 2 week vacation in Sicily. Lovely hotel great location! The only bummer our Google map took us through the small city streets which took at least an hour to find. The same was true of the parking.

That said I would definitely recommend this property and stay again!

Location.Clean.Mini refrigerator was full of water and soda.
Negative:
It is not a really Hotel. We come at 2 PM. Door was closed.
Try to ring , No answer. 1 Hour. we was waiting in the car
3 PM they open the door. give us a key to our room.
after 10PM nobody is on the small front desk. Entrance door close.
If you have a late flight and come after 10PM ,it is a risk to be on the street before somebody come in the morning.
Very hard to find a street parking.But 10 min walk is a parking cost about 12EUR a day.
BE CAREFUL :
place is located just on the corner of the street with a limited traffic. And my navigation send me to this street.
It it a possible that my car was catch on the camera and they send me a ticket, If you come on your car, not a taxi, there is no way to stop by the place and take out your luggage,
You have to park (if you lucky) on the corner of the street
and carry your stuff 200 feet.

Security is weak. Room key is skeleton key and WiFi is not secure. There is Lidl very close for water and groceries. Room has fridge.

Pros - excellent location in the historic centre, comfortable bed, good AC

Cons - The triple room is a double bed and a single bed, not the advertised twin bed (and the receptionist wouldn’t even consider discussing it). Very basic hotel with a small room for the price. Elevator only takes you between floors, so you’ll want to avoid this hotel if you’re disabled or injured.

Basically does the job for a short stay, but overpriced for the quality that’s provided

The hotel is classical European. There was air conditioning throughout the suite and both rooms were beautiful. The suite had a small refrigerator with free water and juices. There was no microwave in the room but there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Both rooms had the most beautiful painted ceilings.

The shower was small but decent enough. The staff was also very efficient and pleasant.

If you are expecting American style hotel rooms with lots of amenities, this hotel is not for you. But if you want a classic Italian style hotel in a centrally located area, give this place a try.

The hotel is on a sidestreet off the main Via Etnea but it felt safe and actually surprisingly quiet except for some loud drumming on a couple of nights which ended by 11pm. I had an economy single room which was basic but good value for money with a mini bar fridge in the room and tea/coffee making facilities at reception available 24/7. As advertised the room is not en suite but has a private toilet/shower room down the corridor and around the corner which wasn't a problem for me. The location of the hotel is excellent for exploring Catania; the rooms and communal areas were cleaned daily and well maintained (although the furniture is a little tired but you must expect that for the cost) and the staff were polite and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again in the future. As a bonus there is also an impressively decorated room next to the reception that is well worth checking out!

Great value for money and comfort in Via Etnea

Hotel is located on the most central street in Catania, Via Etnea.
The owner is very friendly and helpful, he will answer any of your questions and help whenever needed
Rooms are beautiful and very spacious, they have a balcony, refrigerator, private bathroom.
There is also a cofee machine in the hallway.
Although it us on a noisy street, the room is soubdproof. Loved the vintage vibe to it.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone exploring Catania

Check in was perfect, they let me drop my bags off early so I didn’t have to carry them round.

Check out on the other hand, I needed to check out at 8am and there was no one on reception. It is supposed to be staffed at 8am. I called the number on the door and got send to voicemail twice, in the end I missed my bus and had to wait at the bus stop for forty minutes for the next one

Was just in Catania by myself for one night as my travelling companions had earlier departures. Was looking for a safe, clean, conveniently located accommodation and Gattopardo House perfectly fit the bill. Check-in/-out were quick and easy and the room with private bath was updated, clean and comfortable. Well situated right off the pedestrian zone with short walk to airport direct shuttle bus service. Great stay, would reccommend.

The hotel is great and in a wonderful spot. The gentleman who greeted me was great and helpful. I would correct a few things- additional pillows, the AC was not cold, and maybe install a water fountain or machine. the place had a coffee machine and hot water which was great! overall, i would stay there again.

I did all the planning for our trip to Italy and Greece, and did not know what to really expect, so I relied upon the property to properly represent themselves and found everything just as they said. They were centrally located between the airport and the cruise terminal, and the hotel itself was in a perfect part of town. There was ac and a very clean room. They worked with us when we weren't going to be able to make our checkin by 10 pm, and were very accommodating when it came to helping us get a taxi to get to the cruise terminal. We stayed again after the cruise, and were once again treated with respect as well as providing us a room before the other one was ready (four of us traveled). They also got us another taxi to get us to the airport. We are hoping to travel to Catania again and will absolutely plan to stay with them. What a nice place on a very busy and beautiful street! Lots to see and do!!! Thank you so much for such a memorable experience!!!!!!

One night stopover before holiday inland

This clean and comfortable guesthouse is right on the one of the main streets in the Historic Quarter, Via Etnea. Although its right in the action the bedrooms are located to the side of the property which is on a little road so not too noisy. Lots of lovely shops and buildings.
Breakfast wasn't offered but it isn't needed as there are so many cafes on the doorstep.
If you can get in, go for Pizza at Al Vicolo Pizza and Vino just around the corner - fabulous vibe and so pretty with all its fairy lights in the evening.
Hosts at the Guesthouse welcoming and accomodated our early check in request. You can also leave luggage there when you check out.
We took the Alibus from the Airport 4Euros. Very easy and drops you an easy 5 minute walk from the accommodation.
I don't recommend walking down near the train station, the area is very scruffy with sadly alot of homeless people around. We didn't feel unsafe but I might have done if I was a woman travelling on my own.

The location in the heart of the city center is PERFECT!!! Right in the middle of everything with tons of dining and shopping options. The entrance is on a quiet side street with controlled entry which helped make me feel safe because Catania is a VERY busy place.

The hotel is in a big, beautiful, historic building. My room was very nice but I wish the shower had been cleaner. Also, keep in mind that reception is not always open so if you arrive during off hours, it's a good idea to call ahead.

Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel and I'm so glad I chose it

Stayed here last weekend for three nights.

Taxi found the hotel fine and we was able to check in early and no extra charge. Process was smooth and staff spoke good English.

Hotel rooms was great. We had a superior double. Room was big, clean and bathroom was large and well equipped with a great walk in shower.

Felt very safe as there was a lock on the front door, key pass on floor (we was on the second floor and there is a lift) and key for the room.

Location is great. 5 mins walk from a lot of sights and main shopping and small walk to other sights and bars and restaurants. We was able to walk everywhere and didn’t need to use public transport at all.

Il Gattopardo is great value for money, but also a proper Sicilian little guesthouse. It’s also a 15 minute walk to Catania Centrale station - gateway to Siracusa and beyond.

Excellent service, Carlo was really nice and gave everything I needed. the other workers are also lovely.
The bad is that the room and the bathroom are separate, the bad was small for my size.
The place feels old, but it's ordinary in Catania

Fair rate for central accomodation

Good position, limited hotel facilities but hot drinks could be made which is rare in many Italian hotels. Absence of plugs in the wash basin mean that taps have to be left running, wasting valuable water.

We had a lovely stay here. The room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is located right on the historic centre so it's great for exploring the city and it's within walking distance of the bus station! The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

Well located; advise arrival time in advance

I enjoyed my stay here. Although the reception is not 24/7 (as they warn us) and is often unmanned during the advertised hours i found the reception team very friendly and helpful. My room (202) was very spacious and looked over the main street; aircon worked ok. WIFI great. Location is excellent. Good value.
