Luxury Catania at via Monte Vergine 18 Catania was a very liveable self contained apartment with two living areas, well organized kitchen and bathroom (including Washing Machine), huge bedroom with extremely comfortable Queen/King sized double bed.
The apartment was a very easy 10 min walk to/from the CBD and wonderful Farmers market, plus regular market open 6 days pw. Also walking distance Metro and connections to regional byses and trains.

There was nothing luxurious about “Luxury Catania”. The pictures shown on the Expedia site for this property do not match. It is definitely not the same place! I was looking for a place to stay that had an elevator and free breakfast. The Expedia site said this property was on 1 floor and had an elevator. What we got was a place that had no elevator, we had to climb 2 very narrow staircases…too narrow to take our suitcases to the 2nd floor where the beds and bathroom were. We had to leave our large suitcases on the first floor as it was too dangerous to carry them up the stairs. I was also looking for a place that could accommodate 3 adult seniors. The Expedia site showed 2 queen beds side by side and a modern bathroom. What we got was a queen bed in one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom was old and very narrow. Only one person at a time could fit. The Expedia site also stated a breakfast buffet from 6 to 10 daily. What we got was a tray of packaged dry toast, some packaged croissants, little cakes, and juice boxes in a warm refrigerator. The reviews stated that the Luxury Catania was a quiet place. Well it was not. There is a football club next door and we heard men screaming and yelling during a football game. Not to mention the neighbors and the neighborhood cats…both nights.
I called the Expedia customer service and spoke with a supervisor Aieda. She tried to help me find a new place but unfortunately most places were sold out.

I enjoyed my stay. It was a perfect room with a balcony overlooking a small square with restaurants. It was pretty lively till early morning, but was not really disturbed in the room. The owner told me about the fish restaurant downstairs, so i tried it. I got the fish and chips. Very different from the British version as it was nit battered. But, it was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Really appreciate talking to the owner. Very enjoyable stay.

To begin with, Alfio offered to pick me up at the airport (for a fee) which made life less stressful getting to the place...........it's very close to the airport bus stop anyway.

It's close to the centre & meeting points for tours going to Etna or other towns as well as most bars & restaurants being within 10-15min walk.

The area looks a bit run down but that's just surface; it's lively til late!
The apartment itself has good sized rooms, your own showerroom (bring your own toiletries) & the kitchenette is kept stocked up with breakfast items & coffee!

The bedroom doors don't have something to lock from the inside other than the key which is a bit awkward......

The room was immaculate and very clean.The entire night i heard no sound or disturbance.And above all the staff was courteos and very helpful.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plans to stay overnight in Catania.

The flat has a shared kitchen, so you can cook. A market is close by where you can buy all food including vegetables and fruits. The location is great for restaurants, transportation. So I would recommend.

Un peu difficile à trouver. Il faut vraiment avoir un gps pour s'orienter car aucun signe, ou indication qui montre qu'on est arrivé à la bonne adresse. Aussi, il faut communiquer avec le propriétaire pour qu'on nous laisse entrer. Il n'y a pas de code ou de boîte à clés à l'entrée. A part cela, tout est ok. Bon emplacement, bonne chambre avec tout le nécessaire.

At very short notice (due to a last-minute cancelled flight) the hotel staff were tremendously helpful and proactively gave us all the info and directions we needed to get there from the airport, also preparing the room for us quickly. They also speedily responded to any queries and requirements we had. I couldn’t fault them.

The location is very central, next to a lively dining / bar area of the town which offers a lot of choice and a short walk to the main attractions in the old town.

The room was very clean though could do with a couple of snags ironing out (such as the shower bracket needing fixing).

Facilities could be described as a little basic but comfortable, quiet and great value for money, especially in terms of location. The staff also helped make a rather stressful situation of very last minute hotel booking a little easier.

The owner helpful but reliant on Google translate. Parking is not free and was 12 Euros overnight while the room was 100 Euros incl. local taxes. The coffee machine was broken and an improvised fix had been applied but it leaked badly. Breakfast was self-service and okay but lots of packaging and economical. The room was clean but we booked a Queen bed x 2 and got a double bed and a double camp bed with a screen. There is a fabulous market that pops up early morning but you cannot exit the car park easily as a result and the streets immediately outside the unmarked building smell of fish. I can’t rate this property above 2 stars despite the owner’s best efforts to be helpful. 1 night is enough.

It is ok!

So hard to find the hotel and there is no sign at all. The name at the bell, is a personal name and you have no idea that the hotel is there.
The description shows 2 queen, and we got just 1 queen bed.
The room was not ready when we arrived at 4:30pm and they told us to go around and have fun. When we came back at 9pm, we rang the bell for more than 10 minutes and called them and nobody answered. We were luck that we saw the owner coming back from the Festival.
Overall, the hotel is very close to Etna Street and the owner was nice.

My husband and i thought that although luxury catania wasn't easy to find .it was in a very good position to very big market and lots of shops and restaurants luxury catania was very clean nice room and you could make yourself coffee in the kitchen when ever you wonted staff was very good too

Host came right into my room and woke me up. Did not knock or anything. Just locked himself in. Could not speak english at all. Demanded I left the room because the cleaning lady was there. THIS WAS BEFORE CHECKOUT TIME! Stood in my room yelling something in italian for 10 minutes before he left. Not recommended…

Die Lage der Unterkunft war top. Die Ausstattung könnte mal ausgetauscht werden, dass Frühstück war absolut unterirdisch. Der Transport vom Flughafen zur Unterkunft war super, der Fahrer sprach zwar kein Englisch, aber wir konnten uns auch so mit Hand und Fuß unterhalten. Beim Rücktransport wurden wir versetzt und mussten ein Taxi nehmen.

Leider wirklich miserable

-Entgegen geltendem EU Recht möchten Sie den Pass /Reisepass mit einem Privat Handy fotografieren.Das Foto wird dann via Whattsapp weitergesendet.

-Gemäss EU-DSGVO ist es verboten Daten zu erfassen ausser den durch das Meldegesetz vorgeschrieben.Ein Foto eines Reisepasses ist somit unzulässig. Da hier das Bild der Person erfasst wird und Die signatur, Prinzipiel ist immer eine Zustimmung nötig.
Das italienische Meldegesetz fordert kein Foto. Dem Reisepass ist der Name ,das Geburtsdatum und die Passnummer zu entnehmen.

-bei der Ankunft stand ich vor verschlossener Tür ,der Inhaber hatte die Ankunft vergessen

-die lage des hotels ist sehr zentral .aber durch 2 bars darunter sehr laut

-Zimmer sind ohne öffnungsfähige Fenster

-das Frühstück ist selbstbedienung und wurde kaum von jemanden genutzt

-es gibt während des aufenthaltes keine Zimmerreinigung,

-es gibt kein wc papier ,duschgel seifen.

-handtücher werden nicht gewechselt.

-die Bettkissen waren vom Vorgänger beschmutzt ,die bettlaken waren sehr sauber

-der fussboden war sauber und gewischt.

-das badezimmer komplett ungereinigt

- war 4 tage dort niemand hat müll gelehrt

-das schloss des zimmer ist ein klippschloss einfach für
unbefugte zu öffnen.

-der inhaber oder bevollmächte verlangte eine whatsappfähige telefonnummer

-die eingangstür klemmte bei einem anderen gast so das er nachts nur mit hilfe einen mieters ins haus gelangen konnte.

-positiv ist der preis doppelzimmer 38 Euro angebot.

Er behauptet dass ich den Schlüssel nicht abgegeben habe, obwohl ich Beweis Fotos gemacht habe und eine videocamera offensichtlich die Schlüssel gezeigt habe. Der Chef hat mir permanent geschrieben, wie man böse Bewertung geben kann. Unser Zimmer wurde nicht mal gereinigt. Essen gabs nicht mal zubereitet und der Personal war sehr respektlos er meinte ihr müsst doch eh nur schlafen. Konnten nur italienisch und wlan ging nicht, obwohl wir es abgesprochen haben all die Dinge. Hat er einfach gesagt. Ja ich mache es. Ich würde es keinem wünschen Dort hin zu gehen

Ho apprezzato la disponibilità di Alfio nel lasciar mettere i bagagli dei nostri amici per qualche ora nella nostra stanza e il consiglio di fermarci a sgranocchiare qualcosa all'Urban Fish in piazza. Ho trovato un po' invasiva la presenza di videosorveglianza nella zone comuni, senza alcun cartello che ne indicasse la presenza, le finalità, il tempo di conservazione delle immagini e il responsabile del trattamento dei dati.
Complessivamente il rapporto qualità/prezzo ha soddisfatto le nostre aspettative. Consiglio un nuovo soffione per la doccia.

Appartement très mal indiqué dans la rue. Heureusement qu'on a croisé le propriétaire qui nous a ouvert sinon on n'aurait jamais trouvé car aucune pancarte.
Endroit propre et bonne literie.
Par contre, assez bruyant surtout le samedi soir car en bas il y a des bars et restaurants.
Petit déjeuner très décevant: des briques de jus de fruits Lidl, des croissants et biscottes en sachets.
Le plus embêtant c'est la salle de bain et toilettes à partager avec une autre chambre. Nous étions dans une chambre dans un appartement et il faut aller dans un autre appartement juste à côté pour accéder à la salle de bain. Donc pour se laver les dents le soir il faut prendre ses affaires et le trousseau de clés et ouvrir 3 portes et espérer que ce n'est pas déjà occupé.
Sinon le propriétaire ne parle pas bien anglais donc c'est un peu compliqué de se comprendre. Il est gentil et conseille sur les choses à voir, les plages te restau où aller.

-- sono veramente delusa da questo albergo nulla da dire sulla pulizia. i dettagli della mia camera era che aveva il bagno di bidet il soffione doccia. tutto descritto. mentre la verità era che non ha una finestra non aveva il bagno, la colazione pessima tutto un fai da te arraggiato.neanche il latte o il dolcificante. La macchinetta del caffè perde acqua e ho passato 45 minuti a pulire zero kit per il bagno. TV invisibile come dalle foto. In nessuna delle due camere vi era una finestra. Quindi zero aria. Tutto terribile.. Neanche 1 persona tranne 10 minuti ieri sera per un check in. l'accoglienza è inesistente siamo dovuti rimanere fino alle 15:30 fuori perché la persona che doveva essere presente in questo pseudo Bed and Breakfast era all università. Il sito dice eccellente con giardino ecc ultima camera 62€ invece di 128 €. . invece solo un appartamento al primo piano in un palazzo fatiscente. causa loro ci siamo dovuti trasferire in un altro hotel veramente 0 stelle mai visto nulla di simile per quello che abbiamo pagato . Dove in zona è 28 euro max 30 al giorno. .

Il pagamento della camera non segnalato sul sito è solo in contanti,il bagno manca di tutto,nella zona manca il parcheggio ed essendoci un grande mercato ogni mattina rimuovono le auto parcheggiate nel raggio di 800 metri con costi enormi per i poveri ospiti ignari

En fait ce n'est pas un hôtel c'est un appartement avec 3 chambres et une cuisine commune. Dans un immeuble et dans un quartier sale, nous n'étions pas rassurés avec les enfants. C'était propre, les draps aussi mais le matelas une catastrophe on avait l'impression de dormir sur un trampoline (quelques ressorts apparents). Bruits des voisins de pallier de l'immeuble en plein exercice amoureux et les travaux de démolition dans l'appartement d'à côté à 8h du matin. Et ussi le bruit des tuyauteries.Le tout pour 90€ la nuit c'est abusé !

Posizione perfetta. B&B nuovissimo, camere ben arredate, letti comodi, colazione ottima. Siamo stati accolti con gentilezza e disponibilità per ogni esigenza. Ci torneremo sicuramente.
