Excellent breakfast fresh squeezed orange juice only normally now found on the upper end of the scale. Parking secure although not in the garage. Can be tight getting in but very beneficial. Staff very friendly and helpful. No amenities in our room but may be in more expensive rooms although a bottle of water would be good. Only one pillow but again may have got another if I’d asked. Good value for central location

The room was basic but clean. It was a simple over night stop whilst driving south. We didn’t need anything flash so took one of the cheaper rooms. We had no view, looked out onto a wall but the room was clean
Breakfast for 11.50 was ample- plenty of choice
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was the parking. Cost 10€ but it was secure. Be prepared to leave your keys with reception because the car park is a court yard so they move your car when you have blocked somebody in
Great location in the city centre, lots of eateries ok the doorstep and such beautiful buildings and streets to explore

Charming hotel a few seconds walk into town. We enjoyed this quirky & beautiful hotel, with a lovely buffet breakfast including a freshly pressed orange juice machine. It has secured parking and friendly staff.

bad bits… When you flush the toilet, things seem to rise quite high before they flow down. So don't panic & dont double flush or you may have a problem.

We would stay again and good value. Thank you

We arrived late in the evening and required parking, all sorted very quickly.
Staff great, hotel was a lovely quirky old building in a beautiful part of the town centre.
Beds very comfortable.
Would have liked a kettle in the room.
Breakfast simple but great, just what we needed before a long drive.

Noisiest hotel room ever!

I booked due the central location of the hotel and because off street parking was available. Unfortunately though our room was ground floor next to a very noisy street. Initially we thought it would be OK but as we found out Troyes is very busy and lively of an evening. This has to be the noisiest hotel room I've ever stayed in as the walls were thin meaning we could hear other guests, cars, people and music from a near by bar until 3am. The hotel is in need of a refurb. Great location but wouldn't stay again.

What a wonderful little hotel! So pretty and characterful. It's in a fabulous location in the city centre, right next to restaurants, brasseries and bistrots, and only a few minutes walk from the cathedral, canal and museum.

The staff were lovely and so helpful (special thanks to the gentleman who warmly welcomed us on the evening off 26/08).

The hotel has nice common spaces including a little bar and a pool table, and its own parking which is handy. Nice décor too.

A little gem in a beautiful, vibrant city that was buzzing a night. We are definitely going back!

In the last minute I realized I made a mistake on the reservation day and they were able to change the arrangement very nicely and no cost.

Probably the friendliest, most chilled hotel I've ever stayed in.
Staff couldn't do enough for you and always very welcoming.
The hotel is a beautiful, 16th century building in the old town centre, which is amazing.
I was in a room which faced to road so, sometimes, it could be rather noisy, but the streets are very narrow and it's an old building.
Only issue I had was a lack of hot water in the evening but it wasn't a major problem.
A 2 star hotel which makes up for it in many other ways.

We really enjoyed our stay. We were visiting Troyes to connect with old friends and the location was ideal as it was a short walk to the train station and all of the places we wanted to visit in town.

While the hotel is fairly basic, the room was large and clean.

Only issue was it was extremely hot due to weather and due to a smallish room in an old building there was rest bite from the heat even with the fans in the room .

Town centre close and very pretty - The bed was clean and confortable - no air con , threadbare carpets , no parking as advertised,
Repeated noise and trouble in the street outside from before midnight until 3.45 in the morning / if it had been possible to have left we would have done so .

Fabulous hotel in an amazing location

The hotel is nestled in the old town, down a narrow side street and parking is opposite the hotel behind some big automatically controlled gates. Check-in was quick and easy.

The hotel retains a lot of the original features of the property, which means that nothing is vertical or flat (and it almost catapults you back in time).

Room 1 was spacious, with a 4-poster bed, bedside drawers, large table, 5 period chairs, wooden chest, large wardrobe and large stone fireplace. It also had an old walk-in wardrobe, separate toilet and bathroom.

The toilet and bathroom were very modern, with double wash basins and double size shower.

Continental breakfast was simple and very nice with a good selection of meats and cheeses as well as bread, croissants and various jams. Fruit juices and hot drinks were also available.

Being located in the Old Town it was very easy to stroll to the bars, restaurants, market, shops and churches.

Rather disappointed with the 2 rooms on the second floor. Very tired decor and basic furniture. Toilet area very narrow and the shower took ages to warm up then it was too hot and wouldn't cool down. Stair areas quite scruffy with several carpet stains. Breakfast was quite good. Very well located for the town centre and a nice looking building. Secure parking was much appreciated.

Old fashioned style of Hotel in the centre of the city. Classic timber frame construction. Great to see these older properties being reused rather than the new style of box Hotel on the outskirts. Secure parking important with a classic car. Great staff spoke excellent English. Good Breakfast is available for a great start to a day.

Don’t let the scores distract you. This is at the cheaper end of the market for sure, but in value for money terms it should rank very highly. It’s a bit wonky, creaky and wobbly but it’s in a 500 year old building so what do you expect!! It is two minutes walk from the bustling restaurant scene and another five from the Cathedral. Melanie in reception was very pleasant and helpful. If you’re thinking of saving money and not having their breakfast (€11) think again - we ate out and found Paul’s who charged €8 approx for a small coffee, juice and pastry - stick with the hotel for a buffet and fill your boots (though not literally).

Underrated hotel in Troyes

This hotel is batting well above a two star rating. Room 1 was spacious and had a large four poster bed. Superb en suite with double sinks and shower. Breakfast was very good French style. There is car parking secure opposite but there is a public car park around the corner if you can’t get in. It’s on a side road to the man street and was a little noisy but the double glazing fixed that.

Loved the history, location etc. but Expedia didn’t give us opportunity to book parking and we ended up two blocks away. There is no a/c and the fan was broken told we would get one in 5 min but never did. We had to ask for breakfast items to be filled up. Loved the place and city.

Hotel is a beautiful old and quirky building in central Troyes. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. On-site parking was full but we found on-street parking nearby.
The room was very hot at night even though we were provided with two fans, so sleep quality was not good.

A bit hit and miss

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times but twice on this trip. The apartment on the way out was great - modern and clean with an on-suit shower room in one of the rooms. Unfortunately on the way back I booked what I thought would be an upgraded option, a three room self contained family room, as it looked by the pictures to be part of the main hotel. This wasn't the case, it was in the same block as the apartment, it smelled of damp and only had one small bathroom between the 3 rooms. Parking is always a nightmare here but they do try their best to accommodate you if they can. Breakfast is odd but provided you just want a continental breakfast its fine.

lovey hotel in centre of old Troyes. Rooms are a good size and spotless - everything is a bit quirky but then it isn't expensive and it is a good standard for what you pay. The breakfast is really good - local cheeses, confiture, hot breakfast, nice full sized croissants - whatever you want.

The overworked staff were wonderful, and that is really the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Come on Brit Hotel Group - this wonderful building is so in need of some TLC not only in the reception area and dining rooms but, for example, basics such as a hand towel rail in room 43 would be good. I stayed in hostels 40 years ago that had better facilities.

A great little hotel in the Old Town

We were in an annexe to the main hotel across the road and as such it did not have the character of the main medieval building. The room was comfortable, but the floor could have done with a good clean with a mop. However, in summary, it's a great and convenient place to stay, with a lot of charm, and we could not fault the service - the team were very friendly and helpful. Covid-19 safety was eaten seriously, and arrangements for breakfast hygienic with orders taken the night before and placed individually on your table having been served up in the kitchen and brought out covered in clingfilm.

Just passing through your beautiful city. Hotel staff most helpful. Secure car parking for €7 was a big plus. We had. Asked for two single beds and they gave us two singles PLUS a double. Great value hotel in the old town. Shall definitely return.

The medieval look made the hotel special in it's own way, specially the dining room. The staff were very cheerful and friendly and helped any way they could. As with most French hotels the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms is a drawback but it's the only \"suggestion/hint\" I can offer.

We were in a room across the street called the Annex and although clean, it was very tired. It needed paint to cover the water stains on the ceiling and paint on walls where you could tell a larger mirror had hung. The thing that bothered me the most was that the toilet flusher was fixed with silver duct tape and you could tell it had been there a very long time. Great location, friendly staff, good price, and good breakfast, but the room was the low point of an otherwise charming visit to Troyes. I scoured the reviews and photos before booking and thought it would be okay. Perhaps the Annex rooms are older and have not been renovated.

Expectation didn't meet reality - the pictures of the room we booked for a special birthday break to Troyes reflected a lovely queen bed with a wrought iron four poster style frame around. The reality was a drab room with a plain double bed overlooking a car park.
The location however, was superb and the breakfast was more than the average European fare of cold cuts and pastries.

Quirky hotel in medieval centre of Troyes. Very warm welcome. Secure parking a bonus with a car full of purchases. Room was lovely - comfortable bed, hot shower and somewhat undulating floor in the very old part. Breakfast was 10 euros each and very very good with hot choices, lots of croissants and breads, local cheeses, charcuterie and confiture, yogurts, fomage blanc, fruits, dried fruits and nuts - can't think of a single thing extra I could have wanted!

Quirky hotel with great atmosphere that reflects the medieval historic centre of Troyes. Great Location easy walking to main squares and tourist sights. Parking was a bonus. Breakfast was simple but good. Staff friendly and helpful. No lifts so have to carry your bags up stairs. Bathroom a little small but all clean and comfortable.

Great simple hotel in a great location in Troyes. Quite no frills but a very comfortable room and good breakfast buffet. Receptionist was quite unwelcoming and unhelpful when we arrived with her first announcement being that there was no parking left and not really much of a greeting. However this did not spoil our short stay in Troyes. The hotel is also dog friendly which is why we chose it.

Bad night's sleep spoiled otherwise good stay

Excellent location for lovely town, cathedral very beautiful. Helpful staff and excellent breakfast, good amount of space in 4 bed room, the problem was that we had a terrible night's sleep. Loud voices and banging 3am, seemed to be in building or maybe adjoining one; room really hot, think we may have been above kitchen; bed not very comfortable and pillows like stones...compressed in to too smaller pillowcase. Real shame because there was lots to like otherwise.

Very convenient to Troyes Old Town.

Ideally situated to Troyes Old Town, so close to bars & restaurants. Staff very efficient and welcoming. The room was adequate and the bed comfortable, however, the bath room was tiny and needed updating, the sink was cracked and the toilet seat was broken! Fine for a short stay but very overpriced.

This hotel in the centre of historic Troyes has a striking half timbered street frontage. However rooms are of two types: \"charme\" at the front, and \"confort\" at the back. The latter have little sense of being in an old building.

As others have said rooms are small. Room 5 has been fitted into the centre of the building overlooking an internal courtyard directly above a brightly lit glass atrium (the breakfast room). The curtains do not block out all the light from this: I was woken by an artificial dawn. Room decor is OK but no room for a wardrobe, just some hooks on the door. You cannot sit on the toilet without touching the hot water pipe. The HDTV only has channels in French. The floor needs repairs.

Breakfast was OK, no hot food on Saturday. I asked for a room on the top floor, but though the hotel had few guests I was put into what was probably the worst room. Solo travellers often face this: we don't matter to hotels.

I love this quirky hotel as it is so unusual.

This hotel is quirky u usual but amazing. Staff so helpfull and position for exploring central Troyes is superb. I cant recommend it too much but it is different to a lot of hotels but its quiekyness is what the Hotel is about.

Great travelling or weekend break hotel.

Amazing old town with beautiful buildings and churches. Good food and bars very nearby. Hotel staff extremely helpful and knowledgable about their town. The hotel is five min walk from the old town with all it's attractions. If you travelling from North France to the Med. this is a great halfway stop. The hotel is about 400 years old, so rooms are a little small, but adequate. Beautifully restored and an above average breakfast.

Medieval charm in the best location in Troyes

This quaint hotel is in the center of Troyes. It’s an easy walk to all the sights as well as plenty of restaurants and bakeries. We reserved a parking space ahead of time. It costs an additional 7 Euros a day, but well worth it. Troyes is very foot friendly so there was no need for our car. Breakfast costs 9 Euros and it looked like a fairly good spread but we felt that 18 Euros for the both of us was a bit steep. Instead, we opted for coffee and a pastry each morning at one of the local patisseries nearby. The dining and the reception areas are lovely. Tapestry chairs and suits of armor lend an air of medieval charm. Our room was cozy and comfortable. It was rather warm during our stay, but we were able to ask for a fan for our room and that helped immensely. This is a very old historic building which we personally love. But be aware this means slightly sloped floors, fairly weak water pressure in the shower, and paper thin walls. The guests in the room next to us had a dog and I could hear his scratching at the floor and his heavy breathing through the walls in addition to his owner’s conversations. But this is pretty usual stuff when staying in a building that is centuries old and easily fixed with a pair of ear plugs. But be forewarned, if you can hear them, they can hear you. The staff was terrific. They were very friendly and helpful and they all spoke English. We had a wonderful time and would be very happy to stay here again.

The staff is very nice but the room tiny

The hotel is well located and very nice. The staff friendly and the building nice.
The room though was very tiny and the walls which separated the room from the other very very thin, you could hear someone showering and talking easily. It is still quite pricy for the room you get but it is a nice location.

This hotel is very old, so you must expect uneven floors and quirky spaces. What a lovely hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Not far from the center of town, and what a beautiful town.

Cute, but don't expect much aside from location

We couldn't get into the parking since we arrived late--seemed a little strange, but not a big deal. We found parking on the road. The hotel is cute, but since they had electrical problems we were put in a room with 3 small beds crammed in. I'm sure the normal rooms with big beds are nicer. Decor could use a little TLC. Beds were sunken in, so a bit like being in a soft bathtub. Location is perfect though. Fine for a quick one-night stopover.
