The receptionist was a pleasant and helpful man, the room was clean, but the aircon was not working anywhere in the hotel despite the temperature being in the thirties. The toilet seat was loose and the shower took a while to drain.
The breakfast was ok, but the coffee machine was broken and the hot items and bread etc were not topped up and the receptionist seemed to be the only staff on duty, so not good value for the money charged.
Overall a clean and comfortable hotel for the money, but it does need some attention to detail.

PERFECT STOPOVER!

First time staying en route to the South. Usually stay in the B&B chain, but came across Ace Hotel on Hotels.com at a really reasonable price. It exceeded our expectations and is superior to the B&B chain in actual fact. Really comfy memory foam mattress, fast free WiFi and fantastic aircon.
We are staying again on our way home! Highly recommend if you haven’t tried this chain

Ace hotels - you know what you’re getting. No fuss but good value.

Great location for one night stopover. Aldi/shops two minute drive away.
Very close to small airport so had some noise from small planes flying about.

Clean hotel and room. Staff helpful. Had to retrieve extra towels etc from reception as bathroom was set up for one person, not three! Couldn’t get the air con to work, was set on heat. Fortunately in April it wasn’t too hot!

Generous family room for a one-night stopover on the way to the Alps. Very clean and comfortable.

For us, a downside was not being able to purchase a drink (could only buy with a meal).

We opted not to have breakfast, but stopped at a wonderful boulangerie just down the road.

Excellent place for a stopover on the way to the alps or south of France, comfortable & convenient. There are 2 restaurants just across the car park, as we stayed here on both legs of our trip we tried both.
First was a traditional French restaurant, good food & reasonably priced.
Second was a fish restaurant, excellent food & they offered a 15% discount to residents of the hotel. Both were busy with locals, always a good sign.

The property was nice and met our needs. The parking lot was large and allowed easy access with our luggage with the elevator ery close to the front desk and door. The only problem was when we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to pay for breakfast and I said yes. Ðispite having 4 people in the room, we were only charged for one breakfast and had to pay for the other 3 as we were leaving. A minor inconvenience but one that should have been avoided with a bit of commen sense. Breakfast was limited in options, but given the price definitely worth it.

Very welcoming. Very convenient as overnight Sumitomo between London and Chamonix. Adjacent restaurants Marcel (last orders 9.30pm) was perfect. Very fast, friendly service, good food, made the stay enjoyable as well as functional.

Marcel restaurant opposite is terrific. Extremely quick service and good variety of well prepared and cooled classic dishes. Marcel makes ACE a hotel we will likely visit again when breaking journey from Londin to Chamonix

We enjoyed our overnight stay at ACE.
The carpark was convenient,we felt safe.The room was comfortable and we were able to put some food in freezer bags in the fridge and freezer.
We enjoyed being able to take hot water for coffee and soup from the breakfast room even though it was late at night.
The man at reception was very helpful and pleasant.

Good Value But Not Very CLEAN

We stopped by for a break on our way to south of France. I must say the gentleman on the counter (night shift) was nice, however the room had problems, the bed was wet, not the sheets, I’m talking about from underneath. GOD knows what it was but I let the team know they said they could not change rooms, but they gave some additional sheets. Regarding price, I wouldn’t say it was the cheapest either.

Good place for a stop-over. A bit out of the Town Centre and only a couple of restaurants, albeit next door, which were ok.
Quiet, clean and comfortable. We had 2 cans of beer from the bar and then they they ran out, even though the hotel was nearly empty!

Fair quality price hotel

ACE is an European chain of hotel with fair standards atva very reasonable price. The major trouble is to FIND the hotel as GPS will ask you to cross a cow field . The entrance come from a shopping centre. Staff was fine, room fair goid, much space, no fridge, view of the fields. Located a bit outside, so to go to centre town, you need a transport.

The hotel was perfect for our pitstop on our way back to UK from Italy. The reception was open 24 hrs, the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean, spacious and showers were also large. The reason for giving 4 stars is that the 2 rooms were not equipped with towels or glasses for a total of 5 of us. This meant we had to go down to reception, which is fine and they had no problem giving them to us, but if it is about saving money and the environment then I do not understand why they do not ask at check in, if towels and glasses will be required and if so, giving them to us at this point. especially when we checked in very late, just after midnight.

An overnight stop chosen to be within a short drive of Troyes town centre. Pleased with my choice. The only reason I didn't give 4* and not 5* was the lack of a kettle in the room. Most hotels of this type provide one and I was disappointed not to have this facility here.

Perfect stopover hotel

We have been looking for years for a good stopover hotel for our regular trips from the South of France to the UK. I have stayed in dozens but have never been totally happy. My criteria is clean, comfortable, near the motorway, pet friendly, secure parking, and nearby access to dinner choices. This Ace hotel hit every one. Success!! Only issue now is I just sold my French house so will not be doing this journey as regularly.

We have previously stayed here for a stop over on our way back to the UK and found the hotel good and convenient. However, this time the morning receptionist was moody, cross, slamming doors and plates, and rude dealing with customers. There was hardly any food in the breakfast room and when we asked for food to be brought we were told that when food is finished, this is it. So don't bother paying for breakfast unless you want a very expensive coffee! Needless to say, we were very disappointed and we will consider our options for next time!

Guests at the hotel enjoy a discount at two next door restaurants. The only problem--and it was a big one--was the fire alarm that sounded for quite some time in the middle of the night.

Nice cost-effective no-frills business hotel

I was in Troyes for work and found the ACE Hotel through this website. It was a little out of the way, hidden back behind some restaurants and a service station, but it was very clean and new. The bed was fine (not great) for comfort. The furnishings were pretty streamlined - meaning no extras. The soap for the shower was a tiny bar and the shampoo was a small bottle. For a man with little hair, this was ok. For someone with more hair, it might have been a problem. The photo here on the review page is pretty much what my room looked like. what you see there (and nothing more) is what you get. No fridge, no iron, no microwave or coffee maker, nothing like that at all. Just a clean bed and place to put your suitcase by the window. I didn't need anything more, so it was fine. But for a family or even a couple traveling, the room might seem a little stark. No exercise room, no pool. Typical of middle of the city hotels, but this one was on the outskirts of town, with nothing except the two neighboring restaurants nearby. I missed breakfast so can't comment on that. Overall, a good place to stay for a night if on business or traveling through but I wouldn't plan to stay more than a couple of nights here due to limited services otherwise. Internet/wifi speed was very good. No complaints there. Parking was plentiful and free.

The hotel room was OK and check in seamless. However, we paid for breakfast and this is not worth it. Despite several guests requesting bread and ham, the 1 staff dealing with over 30 people provided 2 slices of ham in half an hour. The food provided for number of guests is not sufficient and guests clearly ignored to the point they give up asking and leave. Unfriendly breakfast staff.

We ALWAYS stay at this hotel when driving between Brussels and Lyon. Fantastic value for money and just about half-way between the two cities. Now, fast-food restaurants that stay open late are within a few minutes drive, so even better for our late arrivals.

As usual, the stay was fine but the room we had smelt as if a smoker had not followed the house rule - also a small cigarette burn on the bathroom basin. Shower tray was a little damaged and the bathroom would benefit from better ventilation.
Nevertheless, will stay again as this is not our normal experience in what is a good value hotel.

Fabulous service on arrival at reception. We got an early check in and the lady could not have been more helpful.
Our room was spacious and clean. Comfortable large bed and climate control which is unusual for France.
There were 2 restaurants right next door and we got a 15% discount there.
The free on-site car parking was great. Driving into the city centre was simple and only took 5 minutes.

This was good for a single overnight stop on way back from the Alps. It’s a budget hotel, but modern and clean, and rooms are good. The hotel is close to the motorway – but signage wasn’t great from the roundabout! Friendly, English speaking receptionist. There are two restaurants close by (steak and fish) – and menus and discount vouchers were offered in the hotel. Dog friendly – and only € 6 per dog per night extra, which we thought very reasonable

This was a stopover on a drive holiday returning to the UK. We wanted to explore historic Troyes and found this hotel. As other reviews say it can be tricky to find but worth it. Basically access if off the main road near the roundabout not the backstreets where your navigation device may take you!! At the time we travelled, the hotel pointed out 15% discount vouchers to the two nearby restaurants - brilliant. Also dog friendly which was great. Staff friendly at check in and check out. Will book again.

Troyes hotel. Booked last minute en route back to euro tunnel from South of France wasn't really expecting much but wow, very surprised and impressed. Needed space as have a wheelchair user and wasn't disappointed, room was bigger than most disabled hotel rooms we've been in! Great room, with 1 queen bed and one single bed for the 3 of us, bathroom also large, not a wet room for disabled but didn't book a disabled as wet room wasn't needed for a stopover. Staff were friendly and very helpful with superb English. Two restauants over the road, a fish anf a steak restaurant, if needed. Will certainly use this hotel chain again.

Very good hotel to stop by during a trip

I was with a friend and we stayed there for a night while travelling. I cannot complain about anything. It has anything we needed, is clean, and has two good restaurants around. There is a supermarket nearby but unfortunatelly it was closed when we arrived. It would have been good to have a fridge in the room (mainly to store beverage overnight for the trip). We ate breakfast there, which has a decent price, and it was very nice. I just didn't give 5 stars to the hotel because it is all we needed for the trip, but there is nothing outstanding about it (but we actually didn't want anything else anyway).

Cheap overnight stay

Long way out of town centre in an industrial type area.There were two restaurants opposite but we didnt try them as they were both closed.
Staff in hotel not particularly friendly.
No interest in giving information of transport into town local bars,or showing us maps of area. Everything seemed a chore. Our sink leaked over bathroom floor and in fairness this was fixed very quickly. Wouldn't stop there again.

The address given for this hotel on the Expedia webpage is incomplete. This led to problems with both our in-car SatNav and Google maps on our phones. The post code 10120 takes you to a different part of the town. It took us 45 minutes driving around the neighbourhood to find the hotel, which is in the middle of a business park.

On this occasion however the disabled shower drain in our room was blocked but on all other occasions we have been very impressed. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the reception staff friendly and helpful they told us there were 2 restaurants within 50 yards of the hotel one was fish and the other a grill. Our room was large and the bathroom was too.
There was no facility within the room to make tea or coffee.
The breakfast was lovely with cereal eggs bread for toast and French bread tea coffee and juices good value all round would recommend this hotel.

We stay on a journey south and also on the way back, each times excellent room big clean and quiet bathroom the best I have seen in a long while, breakfast was also good and it was a help yourself - I would recommend this hotel chain to anyone, we are so pleased to have found it. There is a Grill restaurant where we had a very good meal at a reasonable price and also a fish restaurant that you can walk to from the hotel - its all there- go for it you wont be disappointed.

Great thanks, we were very pleased with it all, cleanliness, staff, secure parking, liked the 24hrs check in option and will call again in the future. We even enjoyed the good grill next door which we thought was great food nearby.

One night stop over back from South of France

Stayed on night on return from South of France. Hotel is in quiet area not too far from main autoroutes (but not so near you can see / hear traffic). Very clean, modern looking and feel. Room very comfortable - equivalent to UK Premier Inn standard. Some UK TV channels - BBC one and two, plus Cbeebies (better than usual BBC world offering elsewhere). Buffet breakfast was good (good coffee, juices, croissants, fruit, eggs). Overall very happy and would stay again. Excellent fish restaurant about 30 secs walk away (with kids menu). A nice end to a great holiday.

A Gem

This hotel exceeded all of my expectations, it was a budget stopover on the return journey from south of France. What a gem, efficient check in, spotlessly clean room and bathroom area, very comfortable bed.No noise from other guests so the soundproofing is good. If I travel the same route again this hotel will be my first choice for a stopover break. Hotel is clearly popular judging from the number of cars and a coach parked up overnight. Local area was very quiet but there are places to eat close to the hotel.

Very Nice

This is a lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff. We walked into Troyes for a meal and that took about half an hour but it was gorgeous weather so it was nice to walk our meal off.
