The staff was incredibly friendly, and check-in was easy and smooth. The room was nice and spacious for the three of us. The location is great, only about a 20-minute walk to the city centre and Temple Bar area, with plenty of food options and public transportation nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

We checked in late ay night and the person at the front desk was not kind, not rude but not friendly or nice.

The 3 person room was a nice idea but the room was small and awkwardly situated. 3 adults with luggage and personal belongings made the room feel even smaller. The balcony was wasted space and the door was impossible to get open. We had no control over the temp and the bathroom had no fan so it was not easy for all of us to get ready in the morning.

The day after check in our keys didn't work after breakfast so we had to get them re-issued with no explanation as to why.

The morning we left, we tried calling the front desk to let them know we were expecting a ride to the airport and we couldn't get thru. When we got to the lobby I tried telling the gentleman our troubles and he didn't seem to understand or care.

We had one positive experience with a staff member the morning we checked out. I regret not getting his name but he was at the restaurant checking room numbers for breakfast.

The staff were very friendly, the parking garage next to the hotel was easy to park in. The property and room were both clean. The room was stocked with coffee, tea, milk & sugar. The area was good for public transport and the Jameson Distillery is right across the street. The only issue I had was we paid to have the balcony room and unfortunately got one that was adjoined to the residential living connected to the hotel and we were unable to use our balcony because of the smell and infestation of flies from the neighbors balcony. The resident was a heavy smoker and cigarette butts and old cups filled with stale cigarettes covered the other side of the balcony. A bit disappointing but out of the hotels control. Overall the location was convenient, hotel was clean and parking was easy.

A welcoming experience from start to finish! The staff were accommodating to our every request, housekeeping cleaned our room each day and left bottles of water. The in house restaurant breakfast buffet was delicious and reasonably priced! The location of Maldron Smithfield is prime for walking to all the local sights and multiple options for public transportation. I highly recommend this hotel and location!

Red route tram was about 6 mins walk away and was 4 € for a return trip into town.

Think part of the issue was our room was the first floor right above where folks go outside to smoke. Loved the location, ease of parking and delicious breakfast at this hotel. The staff bent over backwards to assist their guests. Appreciated their efforts immensely. Family enjoyed the restaurant/bar. Next door to a great food shop. Pubs close by. Maybe not the safest area at night but we had no problem Loved the balcony, to let in fresh air, the beds were so comfortable and the shower was dreamy. There was nothing about this hotel that we did not like except our stay was too short.

The location was great. Next door to Jameson Distillery. Store for snacks on ground floor. A few blocks from The Boar Head Pub (oldest pub in Ireland). When we were there they were painting. Not a big deal regarding comfort, but they left the ladder & supplies out in the open lobby over the house of the 4 days we were there. I would have moved the equipment to a supply room to give a less 'messy' lobby look.

Overall we had a good stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms were modern and clean, although they do not have air conditioning. We had to keep the balcony door and window open to keep the temperature comfortable for sleeping.

The breakfast buffet had a good selection of both hot and cold items.

The location is a little off the beaten path. It was a 15-20 minute walk to the city center and many attractions and restaurants. There is a streetcar (tram) stop close which is another good option. The parking garage is not operated by the hotel, but it is right below it.

Also, the location was a little noisy. During our stay a small but loud group of people drinking beer congregated in the small public park right outside the front entrance of the hotel into the evening hours.

The beds were comfortable but the bathroom was in need of a deep clean (dirt around the door stop and shower door were particularly noticeable). We also noticed a bad drain smell coming from the bathroom. We worked out that it was coming from the toilet so we kept the seat down and door of the bathroom closed.
Outside the hotel front door there is a small green space which regularly had homeless people sitting on. That's fine, but the late night drinking and chatting that we could hear in our room was not fine. The hotel needs to invest in proper double glazing, or move people on. You expect some noise in a city but this wasn't particularly nice.
I wouldn't stay here again.

Nice location with a view of the city from the balcony. Looked like the pictures and the breakfast was good. The only downside was no a/c, which none of us expect to need in May but here we are. There was a fan at least and the door opened so we could get it pretty cool but keeping it overnight was not an option because it got so hot with the sun in the morning.

Maldron Smithfield is in a very convenient location and is one of few hotels with “family rooms” that have three beds. The good outweighs the bad at this property, but it’s still worth noting. The hotel is HOT. They give you a fan for your room, but it was still pretty warm.

Room was okay, fan supplied in room however it didn’t work!
Opened the door of the balcony, then had to close it as next door decided to smoke on theirs and the smell of smoke came into my room! Even though it says no smoking on the balcony.
While I thought everything was clean, the duvet sheet had a stubborn blood stain on it, better not to use it if it’s not fully clean.

Quick but great stay

Stayed for 1 night, lovely staff and very helpful. Room was clean and beds are comfortable. Hotel is in a quiet square with lots of food options around. Easy 20min walk to touristy spots. Parking was also very convenient, just parked in the garage, level -2, then took the elevator up to reception. They validate your parking ticket and cuts the cost from €36 for 24hrs to 18.

Could be better for its price

We stayed here with our toddler, there was no fridge in the room which was very inconvenient.
The bathroom is a bit outdated and the shower pipe was too short, and if we opted for the overhead shower you had to be touching the faucet to be able to shower properly, making the whole showering experience really uncomfortable
The room was not cleaned well, crumbs were not vacuumed and one of the days the dirty towels were left the room.

New hotel and walkable to most area attractions in the city. Few steps to grocery stores and restaurants.Staff is amazing and very accommodating. The hotel is clean, the bed is comfortable and there’s free water in your room daily. I really appreciate the fact that they provide daily cleaning service to your room unlike most hotels these days where you have to request it a day in advance. Truly enjoyed our 3 day stay at this hotel.

Great stay in Smithfield area

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and location perfect for our needs. Not much was open late in the area but we were able to find a restaurant still serving after 9 pm. Easy to get to on light rail.

You get what you pay for

The price was reasonable, central location, mattress was so comfortable and parking is validated but otherwise not great. Entrance to was carpark is a mess, building could use a full renovation and thorough cleaning required. Wear and tear is obvious but lots of staining on fixed items including the desk and the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly.
I wouldnt stay again but thankfully I had a comfortable mattress for the night
