The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely on the terrace near the pool. The location was just outside the old town and very convenient as well as quiet. We stayed over Christmas and they went the extra mile to make the day special with gifts and snacks placed in the room. Overall this was a lovely small property that I would recommend.

We stayed in a very small room and though it was very cute and clean it needs closets and towel hooks in the bathroom. There’s no place to put your belongings for two people. There’s no closet and one small bench for one bag.

Just book it! My friends and I visited in May, and we still talk about this hotel 4 months later. I have put off writing this review for months because I don’t quite have the words to describe how lovely this place is. The location is ideal - just a short walk away from all main attractions. The staff is outstanding - warm and friendly. The rooms had a nice, personal note upon arrival and are stocked with great products. The main deck is beautiful and relaxing, with a beautiful view of greenery and, if you’re lucky, a visit from some small animals.

While all amazing, the food is a stand out - the best breakfast experience with tea time in the afternoon with freshly baked cakes. We looked forward to breakfast and tea time every day of our stay. I still think about the pao de quiejo. Highly recommend and will definitely make a stop here again.

Lovely garden and outdoor spaces. Although our arrival, after 8pm, was complicated as the reception closes after 8, overall very good stay. Excellent breakfast. The tea and cake in the afternoon is a really nice touch. Only point worth noting is that a number of rooms give onto internal corridors and have limited natural light. Also, facilities in the room were a little basic (no chair, only one lamp for two bed side tables, and no hook to hang towels in the bathroom).

I’ll start by saying i had a private shared transfer booked to Paraty that never picked me up or answered so i ended up taking the regular bus which was super convenient, inexpensive and comfy (and most likely a much better experience than what i initially had booked). I had booked the transfer super early so that i can have a full day in Paraty but god had other plans for me. I must say if i hadn’t had the pre booked reservation at this property i would have probably canceled my trip to Paraty but luckily everything worked out.

I arrived at the property by the evening and was greeted with a warm welcome by Renata, such a lovely person(just like everyone on this property). The space is beautiful and so peaceful, made me disconnect and really take time to myself. I had an economy double room which was lovely, cozy and sooo comfy. The breakfast and snacks for coffee/tea time was amazing, everything was soo delicious. Renata and Camille both helped me book excursions and answered any questions i had throughout my stay. They have a space to hold your luggage after checkout so that you can go about your day on the town, they also have a bathroom where you can freshen up when you are ready to leave. I initially booked for two nights and ended up extending one more night. I hope to one day revisit this place, everyone is just soo nice 🥹❤️

Perfect location! Intimate small hotel with gorgeous property. Rooms were incredibly clean and smelt like a resort spa after each cleaning. By far the best experience I’ve ever had- the staff go out of their way to ensure you have anything you need. They found us local drivers late night, went and bought us bandages from the pharmacy, organized 2 massage therapist to come to our room for a couples massage, the breakfast is by far the best I’ve ever had at a hotel; fresh bread, eggs cooked to order, multiple tapioca options.
I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! We will definitely be back again and again.

Great place with outstanding service

There is no doubt why this location is so highly rated. The place is beautiful, well located close to city center, but my highest review is of the service and employees. They treat you like family and the utmost attentive staff. I had a request to surprise my wife with a message of rose petals in the bed and they did an amazing job! I think of anything I will miss most of this hotel is the staff! Everything else was excellent as well!

Beautiful hotel

The hotel is very beautiful with many small touches that make it very cosy and cute. The location is amazing, very close to the centre but far enough to avoid noise. The breakfast was great too. And finally the staff are super helpful, they let us shower in a new room much later after we checked out! Highly recommend.

The room was great. The people working there were amazing. They were so helpful and sweet. Would definitely use them again.

I don't know how useable the pool is. It's small and the location is odd, but we weren't looking to use the pool anyway.

The only thing we didn't love was that the second bed in our room was very, very hard. The main bed was very comfortable, though.

Everything else was great. We loved our stay and would absolutely stay there again. The location is a close walk to the historic area. The hotel seems like you're in your own little oasis. Lovely, personally cooked breakfast. Friendly staff.

Beautiful little hotel and the host Paulo was very helpful and friendly, offering lots of advice for things to do in Paratay and help with booking tours. The rooms are modern and clean and the gardens are beautiful and very peaceful. The breakfast was nice and varied with pastries, lots of fresh fruit and eggs or omelettes cooked to order. Tea and cake in the afternoons was a lovely little touch after a day out exploring!

Relaxing Pousada

Carpe Diem is a beautiful pousada with relaxing outdoor space and a delicious breakfast. The staff members Camille and Paulinho were especially warm and friendly. They provided beach, sightseeing, transportation, and food recommendations, and always took the time to make sure we were enjoying our stay in Paraty - even when we ran into one of them walking through town.

We had an amazing stay here. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel was close to old town so everything was pretty much walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Stunning charming place beautifully decorated. Absolutely perfect place, really close to historic city centre but located peacefully on a lovely lane surrounded by Atlantic forest. Staff is very professional but friendly and couldn’t do more to make you feel at home and have the best experience in Paraty, will definitely be back and enthusiastically recommend.

Would recommend. We really enjoyed the little pool to cool off. Breakfast average to good. Bed very comfortable and the tv has Netflix. Very good customer service.

Honestly, all the good reviews are on point for this beautiful, well-located Pousada. It’s idyllic, a small oasis set against the verdant backdrop of Paraty. It’s a short walk to the colonial town and the nearby beaches and easily accessible to everything you need during your stay. The friendly, helpful inn owner speaks at least five languages (seriously) and knows the town and surrounding areas in and out. The rooms are tastefully decorated and well-sized, with all the necessary amenities. There is a lovely breakfast as well as afternoon snacks every day; they also can make some local cocktails for order! Perfect, perfect spot for your stay in Paraty.

Home away from home!

The staff is first class, super helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Happy to assist with anything you may need; restaurant recommendation, tour reservation or even laundry.

The location is great! It's 4 min walk to the old city/historic centre where you have many amazing restaurants and bars, but it's far enough to be a very relaxing and quiet.

The espresso machine is a great bonus for any coffee lover!

We just stayed for one nigh in passing through Paraty. Staff very helpful with information and in general. Hotel in good location if you want to visit Paraty. Pool smaller than it appears to be in the picture but obviously there are way better beaches in the region that are worth the time rather than the pool. Ok hotel, good service overall but probably pricy for what it is, at least for our budget.

Tudo maravilhoso, ao abrir a porta do hotel na entrada já sabia que iria gostar, porque só o cheiro do lugar já era delicioso.

Funcionários nota 1000 sem exceções, localização perfeita, vai para o centro histórico a pé, cama muito confortável, quarto lindo e limpíssimo, banho gostoso e café da manhã delicioso.

Voltarei mais vezes e recomendarei aos amigos com certeza.

A equipe do hotel é excelente, o café da manhã é fantástico, oferecem um café com bolo à tarde que é muito bacana. Alguns quartos têm uma certa umidade e a TV não estava funcionando. Não nos atrapalhou em nada, mas ainda assim são falhas que devem ser corrigidas.

Fantastisk dejligt sted , totalt afslappet med afternoon tea og kage. Fremragende morgenmad. Personalet er super hjælpsomme og søde. Hotellet ligger få minutters gang fra byens centrum, det er et af vores farvorit hoteller nogensinde. Kan ikke anbefale det nok !

Nossa experiência no hotel foi incrível em todos os aspectos: localização, atendimento e comodidades. O café da manhã é ótimo e o chá da tarde uma delícia. Os quartos têm bom tamanho, com espaço para abrir as malas, e a cama é confortável. Deixamos o carro no estacionamento e fomos a pé para o centro histórico. Foi incrível e positivamente surpreendente ficar hospedado no Hotel Carpe Diem. Um amor de lugar, com uma recepção calorosa da querida Renata! O estabelecimento é lindo e completamente alinhado à proposta pitoresca de Paraty. Quando chegamos, tinha até um bolinho quentinho saindo do forno com café. Atendimento maravilhoso!

O atendimento das meninas Renata e Camila eh o grande diferencial. Elas fazem tudo para que vc tenha uma boa estadia. O café da manhã é surpreendente. Como sou muito exigente, acho que poderiam melhorar os travesseiros e sabonetes. A piscina parece maior na foto e passa a ser pequena, qdo a pousada está cheia.

Estadia muito boa. Café da manhã com a variedade adequada e com opções a la carte de diferentes preparos de ovos e tapiocas. Localização excelente. Perto do centro histórico mas sem ficar no meio da muvuca. Pessoal da recepção e demais funcionários sempre gentis e atenciosos. Quarto com bom tamanho. Banheiro idem e chuveiro com boa pressão de água. Uma excelente opção de estadia em Paraty. Tenho sugestões de melhorias referentes a acessibilidade, do ventilador quebrado na área de convivência e na pintura do teto/gesso do quarto que precisa ser retocada. No geral uma excelente opção de estadia em Paraty. Recomendo muito.

Abaixo do esperado! Cama otima! Banheiro normal! AC bom! Cafe da manhã basiquinho! Localização perfeita! Rezar para não acabar a energia pois eles tem um problema sério de hidraulica!
