This B&B did not live up to our expectations. We have stayed at several B&B in Germany and expected the same standard in France.
Unfortunately this hotel fell short - particularly on cleanliness.

Hotels B & B provide comfortable beds, reasonably spacious rooms and ensuite bathrooms. Everything is clean. Covid guidelines were adhered to in this hotel and the receptionist was very friendly despite our lack of language skills. Breakfast is good value compared to other budget hotels and we are happy to recommend this chain to other travellers. There are good quality vending machines for hot and cold drinks and snacks as well as a microwave for heating ready meals.

The only issue i had with this hotel is the noise that comes from the Motorway and trams next to the hotel i could not sleep till 8 am and i was asked to leave at 11am not recommended for people who is looking for a quite night

We had the family room for 2 adults and 2 young teens... for one night stay.. we were very happy, clean room quality bed linen.. comfortable beds a/c TV, enough space to open our small suitcases and move around the room. We visit Valenciennes to see family so only need a fresh room to sleep and shower .. our regular hotel was full. But we will definitely book here again in the future they also have parking and good hotel rates.

Highly recommend B&B as place to stay with the family if you're looking for affordable accommodation and clean facilities. The room and bathroom were clean. The staff superb and very accommodating. He brought in sheets and made sure we has enough to towels. Very pleasant, wish I could remember his name. Their breakfast also inexpensive. Basic, clean, affordable.

Clean place. No blow dryer which is standard in hotel rooms . Front desk did not seem to be staffed much of the time.
It was adequate for price. Easy to find just off Hwy A2 so it was quick to get on the road again in the morning. Breakfast was bread, croissants, juice, cereal, yougurt and lots of good coffee.

Check in was the worst ever. Tried at least 8 times before calling for help. After calling a second time, I was told someone would come and help. When they arrived, it was a wonderful relief. After finally getting a room, we are now content. I have to say, while trying to get in, 3 different residents tried to help us and said they too had problems checking in.

The hotel & room itself were fine. It's a 2* hotel and for the price, you get what you pay for. (Code to unlock the room door, vending machines for out of hours food, basic breakfast)
However the local area is NOT a place you would want to spend any time in whatsoever. If driving through an area of concrete social housing tower blocks, a gypsy caravan site and a rotting shell of a half built building is not your thing then avoid. The shouting, motorbikes and noise late into the evening outside didn't instill much faith the car would be there the following morning, however the carpark was well lit, with a fence and cameras.
A nice sunset was the one positive from the experience!

Excellent place to break your journey, just off the motorway. There are USB power points by each bed, great for charging your devices. The breakfast had a good choice. The parking is secure - gated. You are close to a Carrefour, and other amenities.

If all you want is a bed for the night then B&B fits the bill. Do not expect anything other than a bed and a chair. Reception isn't manned 24/7. Breakfast is actually quite good and at only €6.15, all you can eat, very good value. The location at Valenciennes is both good and bad. Located beside a downmarket housing complex and next to a building site is offputting. But there are three good, upmarket restaurants just a few minutes walk away, Carrefour supermarket and a Flunch cafeteria are easily reached on foot and trams stop (if you can work out how to get tickets) right outside the car park gate. Trams seems to stop running around 9pm though. It is about a 25 minute stroll into the centre of town. Being right next to the A2 (Paris-Brussels) motorway there is traffic noise most of the night. But located adjacent to the motorway means it is easy to find.

The hotel is not in the best of areas unless you are using it for work. Opposite is a burnt down entertainment building which is not very nice to look at. The rooms were cleaned every day which was positive.

Very small rooms clean but with a hard bed. Clean rooms however Saturdays no cleaning room. Breakfast is dry with a kind of microwave egg omelet that was disgusting. I stayed there for 4 nights and the quality of the omelet was the same. You guys should consider changing this kind of omelet.

Functional - no frills
Functional room for our family - we slept here one night. Beds were very comfortable and bedding clean and crisp. Bathroom was small and basic and carpets were old and shabby........dust in corners and around baseboards. Breakfast was excellent. Location was good as this B&B was close to train, shopping mall, cinema, grocery store, restaurants but other apartments in the walking area were rundown (like low-income apartments) and we were thankful that the B&B had a gated entrance at night.

Die Rezeption öffnet um 17::00 Uhr. Wir nahmen den Automaten für den Check-in. Es war einfach zu bedienen, nur kam die Mail mit dem Code für die Eingangstür und das Zimmer nicht. Also gingen wir spazieren. Um 17:10 Uhr waren wir zurück und sahen dann die Mail von 17:00 Uhr.
Für das Frühstück gab es einen Kaffeevollautomaten. Leider funktionierte die Milch nicht und es konnte auch niemand ändern.

En effet le lendemain de notre première nuit, je me suis absenté 30min durant laquelle un employé du ménage s'est introduit dans notre chambre à l'aide de son pass alors que mon épouse ainsi que mes deux filles (mineures) étaient en sous vêtements !
Apres prise de contact, ce dernier nous rétorque qu'il n'est pas rentré dans la chambre et que c'est de notre faute car nous n'avions pas mis la pancarte \"ne pas déranger\"...
Ceci est inacceptable, la chambre d'hôtel étant considérer comme un domicile !
Autre remarque, l'évacuation de la douche est difficile et occasionne un debordement.

Dans l'ensemble tous cest bien passer , il nous manquer juste un numero de réservation impossible de trouver sur la réservation du site en question , pour accéder a un numero de chambre ( payer , code etc ).
Heureusement que l'accueil c'est ouverte peu de temps apres car si nous avons rencontré un probleme sur la route ou autre et depasse ce créneaux horaires la nous aurions pas pus avoir notre reservation sur place .

Avons réservé par internet, lors de notre arrivée dans un premier temps, impossible d'avoir notre chambre ainsi que le code, faisons appel par la borne qui a dû si prendre à deux fois pour que nous ayons notre chambre.

Avons dû attendre l'ouverture de l'accueil pendant près d'une heure pour avoir une nouvelle chambre. L'hôtel est propre. Il y a peu de lumière dans la chambre, ll n'y a pas d'ampoule au luminaire qui doit éclairer le bureau, ce n'est pas pratique pour travailler. La soufflerie est très bruyante et empêche d'écouter la télé dont le volume est bloqué à 9.

«B&B Hotel Valenciennes» is voor ons een goed budgethotel voor één nacht op doorreis. De kamers zijn schoon, net ruim genoeg en wij hebben hier rustig geslapen. Ook de badkamer is goed met een prima douche. Het ontbijt is heel simpel, maar de weinige producten zijn heel goed en de koffie uit de thermoskan is uitstekend. Ook het personeel was vriendelijk en heeft al onze vragen beantwoord. De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is goed voor een hotel van deze categorie.
Rondom het hotel zijn voldoende gratis parkeerplaatsen en ons werd verzekerd dat de parkeerplaats 's nachts is afgesloten. De omgeving van het hotel is namelijk een beetje unheimisch, om niet te zeggen zwaar verwaarloosd. Anderzijds is naast het hotel een tramhalte naar het centrum van Valenciennes. Maar wij reden met de auto in 10 min naar het centrum dat heel gezellig is en waar je genoeg goede restaurants vindt. Van het hotel is het maar een paar minuten tot aan de oprit naar de snelweg A2.
Als de prijzen niet veel worden verhoogd, komen wij volgend jaar misschien terug.

Very friendly staff. We got a recommendation of restaurant nearby with rebate. Neighborhood a bit strange, but they do a lot for your safety. One room was badly smelling like smoke even if the hotel is non-smoking. Value for money is very good.

Ligger dejlig tæt på motorvejen med masser af spisesteder i gå afstand fra hotellet. Vi brugte hotellet til et stop på vejen mod Gaillac ved Toulouse.

C juste bon pour une nuit. Pas eu le choix car tout etait réservé ailleurs. Ca vaut un 30 euros la nuit. Le Chauffage ne fonctionnait pas bien, nous avons eu tres froid la nuit. Petit dejeuner basique dc cher pour 8euros a mon gout, que fort heureusement je n'ai pas reservé vue qu'on ne me l'a pas demandé a la base le jour de notre arrivee. Nous sommes restés 2 nuits, pas de menage, et accueil lors de notre arrivee bof🙄. Franchement a revoir bcp de choses. A eviter absolument c digne d'un formule 1 cet hotel.
