Great place

We stayed for a night on the way home from Germany. We knew not to judge the hotel from the outside. The reception, restaurant and bar area are really great and it was very child friendly.
The room was quiet but artex over the walls and ceiling so it felt like we were sleeping in an iced cake!
The lady in reception (Torchwood fan) was amazing. She spoke great English and really helped when I needed her to speak to the kitchen to see if they could do a basic off menu pasta meal for my daughter who has sensory issues.
The pool was small and cold but it was 30 degrees at 5pm so very much enjoyed.
Breakfast was included and great choice for all of us including soya milk.

No more Novotel

Helpful reception dealt with lack of light bulbs by changing our room.
He told us he had given us an upgrade. Unfortunately the original room was much nicer.
It was too late and we were too tired to move again.
We didn't like the hotel menu and had to search the local area for somewhere to eat. it was difficult in a strange area in the dark. the hotel in on an industrial estate.

Good hotel for the areas we wanted to visit. The breakfast was extensive and a good quality. It was a basic hotel but had everything we needed. Not sure when the last time was the stairs had been hoovered leading from the reception area. I would stay there again.

Great location, needs improvement

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times due to its location, parking facilities and great staff. On this last occasion, breakfast was spoiled by the coffee machine that kept breaking down. Also the cooked breakfast items (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) ran out and weren't replaced promptly.

In the bar, the pression beer had run out for the World Cup Final and the bottled beers were warm.

Well situated for what I wanted to do.

Excellent restaurant. Good service and great food.
Friendly staff.
Rather isolated if you want to walk. It's off the highway and in an industrial environment.
As I don't drive when it gets dark, I did not dare getting lost trying to get into Valencienne.
It's closeness to the highway- which is not heard in the room- makes it convenient however to get to many of the sites around there that I wanted to see, including Waterloo in Belgium,

My only disappointment

When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the dest staff, that I do NOT get credit for my stay at Novotel, because I booked thru Orbitz and not dirctly with them. Are they implying that Orbitz doesn't pay them for the room...I'm sure they do!

I wouldn't have even known that there was a Novotel outside this small town, if I didn't check with Orbitz!

good for a one-night-stop driving back to the UK

our stay was good, the hotel is comfortable and child-friendly. We asked to have breakfast in the room upon our departure but sadly it arrived very late. the rooms are comfortable and the on-site restaurant is good. the area around the hotel is like a ghost town, there were no shops open even on a saturday late afternoon, not even the big carrefour. That was a real inconvenience.

A very professional hotel, convenient for needs !

Needed a family friendly stopover near Valenciennes. Hotel was very convenient and easily reached from motorway and local roads alike. Nearby airport and main road was not intrusive, food and staff were excellent, waitress was pleasant and advised excellent wine to go with dinner, chef came out to check food was enjoyed. Great service. Breakfast buffet good, checkout efficient. Parking good, suitable for high vehicles (camper van). Would definitely stay again, thank you !

Great for business - inconvenient for sites/shops

Comfortable spacious clean modern rooms. Excellent breakfast & dinner, beautiful patio around pool so you can have your meals inside or out! Perfect hotel for business travel/meetings! Unfortunately, we were there for holiday. Luckily, we had a car so getting to sites etc was not a problem, especially with the use of our GPS. Only caveat is that hotel looks old & tired from the outside. Don't judge a book by its cover, it's a gem inside!

Good hotel for overnight stops

Stayed at this hotel on the way to Italy and on the return. It was perfect for overnight stops to break up a journey, Food both evening meal and breakfast was a good standard and reasonable value. The local city center is really good for shopping and has bars and cafes etc. Pool area really good and clean and in general its what you would expect from NOVOTEL

Great service but roomsdont have air conditions

The staff were great and helpfull. However, the discription said the rooms had air condition ut this was not the case. the rooms had some air ventalation system that did not function properly and with tempreture at 32 degrees in the day and mid twenties at night it was very uncomfortable especially if you had a 4 years old and a 2 months old with you. the hotel is around 10 minutes away from the nearest town so car is a must.

Overnight Stop at Novotel Valenciennes Aérodrome.

We booked the Novotel Valenciennes Aérodrome as a stop off point following a trip to Disneyland Paris and prior to our return via Dunkerque.

In total we had 5 rooms booked, catering for 4 families and 1 couple. Each room was clean and comfortable and the location was just to the side of the motorway so easy to find - yet it was also surprisingly very quiet.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stay, the staff were helpful and the menu options in the restaurant we not over priced.

Overall.. very comfortable beds, clean rooms, good service, ideal location to break up the long drive and good value for money.

Ein perfektes Hotel für uns auf der Durchreise. Nah an der Autobahn, Ladestation für E Autos, sehr ruhig gelegen, gutes Hotel, bequeme Betten, großer Garten mit Pool, gemütliches Frühstück am Pool und super netter Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption. Wir haben gut geschlafen, den Garten und Pool genossen und sind sehr erholt weitergereist. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder wenn wir in der Nähe sind.

Echt een goed adres voor overnachting op doorreis

De ligging, vlakbij de autobaan, prima restaurantje, zwembadje buiten voor hete dagen. Je moet wel reserveren voor het het avondeten, wij hadden dat niet gedaan, maar konden gelukkig nog later op de avond terrecht. Bordspelletjes volop aanwezig in de gezamelijke lobby, voetbaltafel en flipperkast. Bedden goed, ontbijt goed, rustig en prima schone kamer.

Nous avons réservé cet hôtel car il est noté qu'il contient des bornes de recharges pour véhicules électriques. C'est exact mais ces bornes ne sont pas gérées par l'hôtel et ce sont des bornes pour TESLA...
De plus, NOVOTEL est réputé et cet établissement mériterait un rafraichissement (notamment au niveau des chambres, peinture abimée, noir au niveau des joints de la baignoire,...) pas digne de ce type d'hôtel.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel qui est très loin des standings des Novotel habituel. Hôtel vieillot qui ne vaut pas ses 4 étoiles. Le personnel est sympathique c'est bien la un des seul point fort de cette hôtel.
Nous avons vu un rat roder devant l'hôtel prêt des poubelles.
Notre bouton pour tirer la chaise des toilettes était détérioré.
Je ne vous recommande donc pas cette hotel.

Si on aime dormir dans une zone industrielle avec un bruit de voitures toute la nuit ( autoroute sous la fenêtre !) et avec le bruit de la ventilation dessus son lit (impossible à couper!) je pense que c'est l hôtel ideal! Pour ne pas dormir la nuit!
J'encourage la direction à voir l'état des ventilations des wc...et de la chasse d'eau qui fuit... On est très loin du 4 étoiles au prix du 4 étoiles...

Vores værelse var fint rummeligt, men levende på ingen måde op til de billeder vi så inden bookingen. Alt var trist og slidt. Gammelt brunt gulvtæppe og træt badeværelse. Der var også lidt nusset og sengen var redt med engangslagen.
Der var fine, aflåse og gratis parkeringforhold og beliggenheden er optimal for en overnatning når man blot er på gennemfart.

Cependant : le mini bar éteint et extrêmement sale à l’intérieur. Traces de moisissure ! Dans l’offre nous étions censés avoir des produits gratuits dans le mini bar… Dans les toilettes pas de sacs hygiéniques. Poussière sur le plateau à thé ….

Les parties communes de l’hôtel sont rénovées et très agréables (entrée, bar, restaurant, terrasse). Les chambres méritent en revanche d’être franchement rénovées. Il n’est pas possible de baisser la température dans les chambres (pas de clim), la nuit était donc chaude et peu reposante en cette période de canicule, dommage pour ce prix.
Restaurant de bonne qualité (dîner et petit déjeuner).

Das Hotel ist äußerlich in die Jahre gekommen, innen wurde es modernisiert. Die Zimmer sind ok. Die Sauberkeit insgesamt ist mittelmäßig. Das Personal im Bistro spricht wenig Englisch. Das Essen war ein einziges Durcheinander, teilweise waren Zutaten anders als in der Karte angegeben oder Komponenten fehlten ganz. Insgesamt für eine Nacht aber okay.

Not impressed with the hotel. Prepaid the stay and food, but had to pay for my two daughters. Was told this at check in, where he said it was a buffet. It was not, instead we could choose for 25 euro from the menu, which takes away the idea of prepaying. They brought a board with the menu, where the special main course f the day was pulled pork burger. However before we ordered this was deleted, even though we had reserved table at 19 o clock, when they opened. We instead ordered four steaks medium, but they were all closer to raw, and the French fries had not had enough. Disappointing dinner, with a boring uncooked meal and breakfast buffet also disappointing. The French kitchen is supposed to be the best, but this was poor. The pool was nice, but we and others should just jump in, with no outside showers. So I fear it is not that clean. But very refreshing in the heat. The room was nice but only two rolls of toilet paper, neither of them full so we ran out of tp in the morning. The pillows were bad. So I slept without. Beds were fine. We had hoped for more with the high ratings, especially the food was disappointing.

Direkt an der Autobahn gelegen, gut zu erreichen. Zimmer durchschnittlich, leider keine Klimaanlage, daher ziemlich warm im Zimmer. Nur französisches TV, bis auf einen deutschen Sender.
Morgens um acht Uhr wurde, obwohl Gäste auf der Terrasse frühstückten, mit mehreren Leuten der Rasen gemäht. Man konnte sich leider kaum unterhalten...

Retour week-end à valenciennes au NOVOTEL.

Sejour agreable. Globalement satisfaisant.
Acceuil tres commercial et site digne de nos attente dans l'ensemble. Un tres correct et a conseiller clairement.
Un bemol, concernant la piscine trop froide.
Presque un defi de s'y plonger.
Cependant pas decu.

Sejour décevant par rapport aux cadre proposés sur le site rapport qualité prix pas du tout cohérent.
Chambres étouffantes des ventilateurs a disposition seraient un minimum. Piscine non utilisable eaux trouble,sale et flacons de produits d'hygiène vides ou non fonctionnels
Dommage mais pour le tarif 102.00 la chambre et 17.00 de ptit dej en supplément vraiment trop chère.
Je ne recommanderais cet établissement.

Hôtel complètement à refaire moquette sale et tachée revêtement des portes qui s enlèvent.
C est pas acceptable pour in Novotel surtout que j avais réservé une chambre dite supérieure .
De plus le matin en expliquant les problèmes dans les chambres , la réponse est déconcertante « je ne vais jamais dans les
Chambres »!!!!
Dans tous les cas ni les photos ne correspondent pas à l état des chambres
