The massages were amazing. We started with 1.5hours a day and were doing 2 and 4 hour ones by the end. The food was excellent! Our kids loved the burgers, spring rolls, mocktails and garlic bread and I thought the pad thai was excellent. The pool was very clean and service was wonderfully attentive. The hotel is stunning.

One of the best hotels that I have stayed in south East Asia. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone young old solo or with family whether for business or vacation trip.

We were collected at the airport by very helpful hotel check in staff, the hotel reception is very grand and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The room was immaculate with crisp white sheets and a huge roll top bath. The room had very efficient air conditioning and bottled water provided daily. The hotel is full of beautiful traditional classic Cambodian furniture and statues. The hotel provides an evening shuttle to town daily and will also book drivers to take you on temple tours.

We stayed for 11 nights. My teenage boys, my wife and I
Communication before we arrived was excellent and arranging transfers was easy and on time.
This hotel is rated 4 star, but the service we received was as good as the service anywhere I have stayed at 5 star.. including comparing to France, England, Germany, Japan, Australia/NZ.
Would definitely recommend this to other couples and families.
The hotel is a little way out from the city centre.. but a ride by tuktuk was only $5 US each way and was available any time we wanted.

Generally, the staff are extremely polite and courteous, and tend to go out of their way to assist. We had stayed for 4 nights at Empress Angkor. There were bedbugs (I think) or some insects which made sleep extremely difficult. We had reported this the next morning and they sprayed something to fix it. Night 2 was good. We faced the same issue the next night & requested for some staff to attend. The hotel staff promised to send someone immediately and no one turned up. Since we were extremely tired, we didn't bother to follow up and call again. Not sure whether language was the issue. Hope they address this issue for future guests.
Overall a good experience except for the bed bugs or whatever insects that were feasting on us.

Hotel external design elements influenced by the temple decorations from Angkor Wat and the other temples with copies of many statues in the hotel grounds.Grand lobby with massive chandelier and impressive timber work.Like a Cambodian Downton Abbey.Room was spacious approx 6m x 5m with very high ceiling and timber floor.Rather dimly lit though as was the bathroom.Shower over bath requiring high step up and down- This would not suit people with limited mobility.Breakfast offered much variety of hot food but no muesli available.Gym equipment was old and much of it not operating properly.
Hotel staff were always extremely polite and helpful.

We would like to particularly single out Mr Vandy, who not only attended to us on our arrival at and departure from the hotel, but also drove us to town and even recommended a wonderful restaurant for our dinner. The hotel staff was very friendly and Bandee - one of the bell men - was very nice and drove me to the super market our first evening. The breakfast was good but the eggs had too much milk in them and made them runny and brown looking. Overall, the breakfast was good. The swimming pool water had too much chlorine in it and it was not cleaned very well as it was very dirty our last two days there. But our rooms were very comfortable but we had some cockroaches in our rooms which was not very good. But overall our stay was pleasing and we would recommend it with some changes mentioned above.

The Empress Resort is a very nice facility! From cleanliness, to the comfort of the room, and the receptiveness of the staff, the Empress Resort exceeded my expectations. The onsite spa had very good massages at good prices, all while not having to leave the facility. Also, the poolside bar staff was very helpful and receptive and I spent many afternoons there enjoying the company of the staff. Samuon, a bartender at the poolside bar was especially helpful, and very courteous and professional. I would definitely go back and I have already recommended this hotel to some of my colleagues!

We booked this hotel actually thinking we were booking a hotel we had stayed in previously. Turned out we were mistaken. The grounds were nice enough, nice pool. The carpet in the hallways was very worn, dirty, old. The room was OK. Our power went out a couple of times and it seemed to be just needing to pull the key card out and put it back in the slot. Very strange. It says WiFi in room but the Internet is so weak everywhere nothing would ever open. We had better luck at bars or restaurants in town. Breakfast was included in our price, but was not good - they ran out of juice daily, never had bacon (a staple at buffets I would think), minimal fruit. The pho station was good. The Dynasty cafe/bar staff was very friendly. That was the most positive part of our stay. The bell desk was not helpful when trying to get information about possible tours or activities and were not friendly. They had no one working at a guest relations desk. English skills were the weakest I've found at any hotel I've stayed at (I know I'm in a foreign country, but they cater to may international guests). There were many tour busses coming an going and they seemed overwhelmed with taking care of those people. I couldn't rate any part of this over a 3. I would not choose to stay here again.

Compared to the Angkor Borei Spa and Resort this really is no comparison (stayed 2 nights there as well). Upside - gym and pool area good. Boxville, newly opened across the road is great to pick up some cheap food and a quick cheap beer (much cheaper than the hotel!). Downsides - so noisy, the staff and the other guests (99% Chinese) want to make sure that everyone gets up at 5am! If you don't like rock hard beds then forget it! If you jump on the bed you will break some bones! Wi-fi was virtually non - existent and TV channels would not tune in. Breakfast is a scrum at best - just full of incredibly selfish people. I had a cracking view from my balcony as well - a concrete wall! I have written 100's of hotel reviews and this is the most negatively descriptive one of the lot. Siem Reap - great - Angkor Wars - awesome.. and there are hundreds of hotels that you can chose from - so look hard and long at where to stay!

Beautiful traditional cambodian hotel!

We had a few hiccups with air cond and electricity malfunction in our room. Albeit it caused some inconvenience with the multiple room changes, the Empress Angkor staff, especially staff manager, Choen Panha handled the whole situation very well and the inconvenience became bearable. He offered two complimentary traditional khmer massage at the hotel to compensate for our inconvenience. All in all, we had a wonderful stay there, and the free shuttle to and fro town every evening was very convenient. As the hotel is only 10 minutes away from town, trips to town and to nearby places from the hotel only cost us $2-$3 on the tuk tuk.

my family and i were EXTREMELY impressed with the hotel and the staff!!! the breakfast buffet was huge with an assortment of Asian and western selection. the staff was friendly and professional, always with a smile and a good morning-afternoon for us. our kids DID NOT want to leave. the pool was cool and refreshing with a BBQ lunch selection for lunch that was affordable and delicious. the prices of wine and pop was up there but, that's what you get for a five star hotel...we had two adjourning room with a kitchen and living room in between , two balconies, two bathroom with shower and a claw bathtubs.. VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! but the best thing about the hotel is the STAFF!!! thank you to the front desk, waiters and waitresses, pool dudes for making our our vacation amazing!!!!

The Empress hotel is close to the airport and only a short Tuk-tuk ride to the main tourist area of Siem Riep (Pub Street). The hotel was clean and had a beautiful pool. Workout facility and spa were nice. Included breakfast buffet was great. Maybe a bit short-staffed in the pool bar area. Rooms were on the small side. However, the Empress hotel is overall a great hotel for the price.

This hotel is very grand and beautiful. Their staff are great, they all pretty much can converse in English, which is good for some of us that can't speak the Lingo. The quality of stay and the value is excellent. Their buffet breakfast is one of the better ones that I have experienced in Siem Rep. Worthy of 5 stars.

Your every need is taken care of from the moment you're personally collected from the airport.

We chose a deluxe room with a pool view, and was placed in the extension of this beautiful hotel. It was very quiet.

The pool is immaculately clean, as is the area around it; the pool boys ensuring each towel is replaced and each lounger is tidied up after the occupant has left it. Following a storm, the boys cleared up any fallen leaves and flowers both around the pool garden and in the pool immediately.

The room was very clean and comfortable. It was attended to daily. There is a minibar fridge and hot drink making facilities. The air-conditioning was well maintained with modern controls. The bathroom was spacious with a huge tub, large shower and toiletries should you need them.

The restaurant was very busy for breakfast and the menu catered for various different nationalities. It was much quieter for lunch and dinner.

The pool bar was quick and easy, and on one occasion we enjoyed kebabs at the little grill beside the pool.

There is also a large spa for a good massage after a day of touring the temples, which was good value.

The hotel gardens are beautiful, as is the attention to detail in and around the building. We explored most of the hotel and loved all the pictures, statues and panels - even the elevator interiors are styled differently. The first floor overlooking the foyer is worth a linger.

We would certainly recommend this hotel.

Good facilities and accommodating staff. Service efficiency particularly with food and beverages can improve. Friendly and keen to please though. Spa well appointed but staff lacked expertise and did not honour appointment times. Avoid haircuts and pedicures. 15 minute tuk tuk ride to city and Tour desk disorganised.
Family friendly and generally happy with stay.

Nice hotel 15 minutes from downtown

Beautiful hotel built in the traditional Angkor style. Service is excellent and the setting perfect. Downtown is just a shirt tuck tuk ride away. Only complaint is that the wifi is poor.

Comfortable and pleasant stay

Chose the hotel based on favourable Expedia review. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. Upgraded my room and had a spacious and clean room away from the hub of activity. The staff are friendly and eager to please but few are competent in English so it's a struggle when asking for anything outside of the ordinary eg. I wanted a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich instead of toasted cheese and ham on the menu. Got a toasted cheese sandwich with slices of tomato on the side. Service at the pool bar is slow. There are posters everywhere advertising discounts on drinks and snacks but none of these materialised eg. Free happy hour snacks at pool bar were advertised but nothing given. The spa is great and excellent at massages. Breakfast was a let down, caters mostly for the bus loads of Asian tourists that seem to frequent the hotel, so go to breakfast early to avoid the crowds ie before 7 am. I ordered a 'western coffee' and was charged $4 US for a single espresso shot. The location away from the main town can be a positive eg. Relatively quiet but it does take around 15 mins in average traffic to get to the hub and also $$ for a tuk tuk. Swimming pool is nice and relatively quiet given that the bus load crowds don't seem that interested in swimming. It's a good hotel for families and I will stay there again if travelling with my family but somewhere more central if travelling alone.

Twillight zone, poor layout

Hotel caters to low budget chinese and korean bulk tourists... Strange carpeted hallways very poor layout long walks to the rooms. Small layout, strange tiled bathrooms. Drunk chinese tourists trying to open my door at 3am. Breakfast i give 1 out of 5 stars. had poor selections, coffee was absolutely terrible. Were playing child nursery songs like \"farmer and the dell\" during breakfast. My flight arrives early just stayed here for 1 night A memorable one, it was like being in the twillight zone for a night.... If your on a budget this or any other hotel would be fine but dont be fooled by the pics.

Great facilities, fantastic service

Great hotel - service and facilities were fantastic. Easy access to the town and Angkor ruins via tuktuk.

Staff were always available for any queries and very knowledgable.

Khmer-designed hotel

The hotel was good with the Khmer designed interior. However, the bed and pillow was abit too soft. Overall, it is still not a bad stay. If you are staying in this hotel, please don't go to the airport so early for departure regardless International or domestic as the check-in counter only opens 2 hours before the departure.
