LIBER HOTEL OSAKA is a very nice hotel with an impressive, grand lobby that makes a great first impression. A highlight was the massage chair area on the second floor — only 500 yen for 15 minutes and well worth it. The rooms were comfortable and perfectly adequate, and the amenities were a standout, including slippers, pajamas, and toothbrushes, which were a thoughtful touch. The restaurant can get quite busy, so it’s best to allow extra time for dining. There are washer and dryer facilities available as well, though they are a bit older. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with good amenities and a relaxing atmosphere.

Easily the best hotel breakfast in the area. For guests going to Universal City, it is unbelievably convenient while also being quieter than the official hotels. I have a physical impairment which really only becomes obvious to passersby after 15,000 steps (neuropathy and several steel rods in my legs) and having access to the spa also made this hotel worth calling out. Thank you.

The location of the Liber Hotel in Osaka is very convenient — the JR station is right across the street, and I could even see Universal Studios Japan from my room. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an elegant lobby and stylish common areas. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and come with plenty of amenities that make your stay enjoyable.

However, I unfortunately cannot give a good overall review because of a very unpleasant incident. One of the provided pajamas was soiled, which was extremely disappointing and made me feel sick. It completely ruined my experience and made me want to leave immediately, though it was already late at night. This was a very unfortunate event that overshadowed what could have been a great stay.

Didn’t have any breakfast there, but had the course meal at the first floor bar - it was delicious and great personal atmosphere.
Walkability to train station was amazing, didn’t need to catch train to universal city if you don’t mind a small walk.
Lawson & 711 convenience stores right outside was also great!
Bath house spa option also wonderful.
Massage area could be more private, no doors so sound carried through a lot and could hear lots of noise in what would’ve been a peaceful spa massage.
Overall a wonderful experience & would stay again!

Very Expensive & not the advertised standard of hotel.
Staff were cold, unwelcoming & had a total “no care” & unhelpful attitude & made no effort to communicate with or without a translator.
When asked, they told us we had to walk to Universal studios, rather than let us know it was 1 stop on the train, which was directly across the road & that there was a shuttle bus outside the hotel.
A very large hotel with no food options after 9pm, which necessitated walking to 7eleven for food after a long flight.
Beds were very hard & so uncomfortable we slept on pillows.
Room was clean & adequate.
We were far more comfortable & welcomed in much cheaper hotels.
A very disappointing experience & We wouldn’t stay there again.

Excellent location and views, bar the works on the promenade, spacious rooms, excellent gym, hearty breakfast. Shame we didn’t manage to use the spa facilities.
Would be nice to have some sake accompany the good dinner buffet at the restaurant.

The hotel was gorgeous. The room was huge. We didn’t eat here for breakfast, but we did have the buffet dinner which was delicious. This is definitely a more premium hotel and the restaurant prices reflected this but there is a 7-11 next door for cheaper options. It was walking distance to Universal Studios which is why we chose this hotel and the train station is conveniently across the street.

Oustanding staff! A special thank you for staff helping with train transportation at concierge. She was extremely kind, friendly, professional and guided us to excellent miso ramen shops in Kyoto and train information from Liber Hotel to Hiroo station in Tokyo. Our room was very clean and staff took pride and great care of us and the room. Front desk staff check in was smooth, professional. We highly recommend to other guests and look forward to a future stay at the Liber for a return visit!! Absolute perfection!

Staying at the Liber Osaka was a disappointing experience. The staff seemed continually on edge, overworked, and indifferent to hospitality. The hotel apparently has focused on large, commercially organized Chinese and Korean tour groups. We had to wait in line daily for the breakfast service with 60 people waiting in line for tables. When we could not get a table before breakfast closing time, they told us to re-purpose our breakfast meal ticket for a discount on dinner. However, that hindered our travel plans since we didn't want to rush back to the hotel for a buffet dinner and wait in line again. In the evening, it was necessary to wait in line for the only 2 microwaves in the hotel at 1F to warm meals. Requests, such as a late checkout, were denied and out of the question. Although an effort is made to organize the chaos, the atmosphere and energy at the Liber is one of tension and stress. After three weeks in Japan, we became accustomed to warm welcomes and helpful staff that treated us with great respect and courtesy. The Liber Osaka was an exception to that. We would search every other accommodation option before considering the Liber.

The breakfast is overpriced. Boiled bacon, liquid scrambled eggs,and rather insipid coffee. The chef kindly fried my bacon. However, while better, it still did not match the taste of American bacon. I found the salmon and other fish not tasty at all.

Excellent aircon, spectacular lobby. Staff very courteous and helpful, but when advertised as English spoken, surprisingly few staff spoke English to any reasonable standard. Excellent location oppostite JR train station, adjacent to Expo bus station and easy 20 min walk from Universal Studios. Meal in cafe was excellent

This was a perfect choice for our stay in Osaka for 10 days back in July. Beautifully decorated and grand lobby with upscale decor and facilities. The room was spotless, with very nice AC and housekeeping service. Generous toiletries and replenishments of drinks each day. They even provided pain relief patches for foot and shoulder for free. The hot spring in the hotel was wonderful. Awesome restaurants especially the Japanese styled buffet breakfast and dinner. Customer service was superb, on point and responsive. We attended the World Expo Osaka-Kansai, and the hotel provided very detailed guidance and recommendations about the visit. There was actually a shuttle bus (for a minimal fee) from the hotel directly to the Expo. The hotel rep also gave us excellent advice as to where and how to explore Kyoto and Osaka, and where to park our rental car. Overall this was a dream come true trip and a 5 star quality hotel. We will be back!

The room was very clean and functional. Adequate size and space for all of our 3 weeks worth of luggage. Beds are typical for Japan, a little firm. Train station directly in front of the hotel and a 7-11 within walking distance.

Ok for non-locals; we stayed 4 nights for our Osaka trip, and though it is located close to Universal, it is far from everything else in Osaka. Room cleanliness left a lot to be desired, and room service is not offered. Hotel is catered mostly for locals.

I thought this hotel is walkable to Universal Studios… it is a train stop away, and Not really walkable. For those who are in this area for Universal Studios, I suggest that you book other hotels near its premise. This hotel is NOT convenient for Universal Studios.

Air quality in the room was great (good ventilation kept CO2 down, humidity and temperature stable in a comfortable range). We would absolutely stay again if we have a reason to go to that area (really only the expo this year or USJ in the future).

Enjoyed the window view, easy access to USJ, CityWalk, and Expo, complimentary spa, and the breakfast buffet was worth trying, especially the custom seafood bowl, simmered beef with tofu soup, and kushikatsu (fried skewers) assortment. We went to Universal Studios and Expo, so the location couldn't have been more convenient. Although it's a bit off the beaten path, it was across the street from a subway and there were still multiple convenient stores nearby (of course there was). It was clean and I loved overlooking the water. There was also a beautiful terrace at the back which hardly anyone was enjyoing.

Liber Hotel-great 4 star hotel

I typically prefer staying at Marriott or Hyatt Hotels, and I chose this hotel primarily for its 5-star rating and its proximity to Universal Studios Japan. The location and amenities definitely met my expectations.
For instance, there were no bathrobes in the bathroom, and the towels provided were quite small and thin. Although I was able to request additional towels, I believe offering more comfortable and higher-quality towels as standard would enhance the experience.
One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible onsen, which was a big factor in my choice of hotel. The buffet breakfast was also impressive, with a wide array of Japanese dishes; however, I noticed that the selection of Western options was limited. I would recommend diversifying the breakfast offerings to cater to a broader range of tastes.
I appreciated the convenient laundromat on the third floor, which had plenty of available machines. Additionally, purchasing tickets for the aquarium and expo at the front desk was hassle-free, as was securing bus shuttle tickets to the airport, which were reasonably priced at 1,800 yen each (under $12.50).
While the room itself was spacious, I did miss having nightstands on either side of the beds, and the beds could have been more comfortable. I also noticed some stains on the carpet that detracted from the overall presentation. The layout of the bathroom, with a separate toilet from the sink and shower, was a bit inconvenient. I would stay here again.

Even though this hotel was the longest walk from USJ we liked the look of the facilities but I wish we had booked a different hotel. Room was lovely but you could easily hear noisy guests in the hallways and people snoring in the next room. The spa baths were in the same level as the restaurant so it wasn’t uncommon to see embarrassed people trying to weave their way discreetly through the long, boisterous and jostling crowds of people who were waiting to get a table for breakfast. There were no other options for breakfast or dinner. Room service wasn’t offered. Dinner was a similar experience. Long lines, no tables, no alternatives and no room service or mini bar. So grateful 7-11 was next door it saved us on both occasions. Between the noise, facilities we couldn’t use and not enough dining options we would rate our stay as very mediocre. Very unhappy.
