Arrived 30 mins before check in and was taken straight to our room. The lady that showed us to our room was lovely, and was very kind when my toddler chatted away to her.

Room was clean and looked lovely. I liked that you could park right outside your room which was easy to unload the car. The view from the patio was endless countryside and at night it was rural enough that there was no light pollution and could see the stars.

Room was well stocked with all types of teas and coffees. Shampoo and soaps provided were high end and good quality. Bed was large and comfortable and staff were happy to bring an extra duvet.

Breakfast was tasty, cafetière coffee was excellent and the chef cooking and serving breakfast was polite and friendly.

Overall a lovely stay, with a large comfy bed and great food

Pleasant stay at The Pheasant

Easy check in, lovely spacious room within a separate block from the pub, with a sofa. Bathroom clean and shower was a good size.
Breakfast was served efficiently and was
delicious.
It was quite expensive but was a convenient location as I was attending a wedding in the area and every aspect worked perfectly

Beautiful, peaceful and a restful stay

We was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, easy and no faff, our room was clean with everything you could need, with a beautiful peaceful view.
Breakfast was one of the nicest we have ever had in a hotel usually paying £25 plus and this one was included in the rate.
Service was great and we felt looked after and welcomed.
This is a lovely county pub with accommodation in a sleepy village with beautiful views.

Lovely stay, slept like a dream woke up to a stunning view a warm welcome and delicious breakfast (with a proper sausage can I just add) what more could you want. :)

Lovely break in the countryside!

We had a lovely one night stay in the constable room with dinner. The room was clean, comfortable with a large shower and countryside views. The food was delicious and all the staff very friendly. Would recommend 👍

Fabulous!!

Lovely country pub with beautiful rooms.
Mine looked out to endless countryside so was so relaxing. Cosy and warm room.
I ate in the pub and had a very tasty Thai curry. Great breakfast.
Sue was super friendly and customer service was brilliant.

Great venue , Great Food

Great Trip. We stayed here for a nearby Wedding and met with Friends. Was a great venue with evening food and Breakfast very nice. My only advice if you need a taxi staying here is to book in advance as there are not too many great.

Beautiful views of the fields and beyond. Restaurant dinner was lovely, cooked with locally sourced produce, likewise for breakfast.

We we're welcomed from arrival to departure. Landlady and staff we're very friendly. Food and drink was excellent. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. Jacuzzi was a added feature in the room. Would definitely stay again for a short getaway.

A lovely place but poor value for that price

The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and sitting area and friendly staff. Breakfast was in their pub next door. However, for the price, it was poor value, compared to the many other places we have stayed. No choices of yoghurts or fresh pastries for breakfast and they weren’t particularly generous portions. The meal the night before in their pub was very tasty, well presented food, but not the best value for a pub.

A proper country pub in a lovely location

We wanted a proper country pub and that is exactly what we got!
Food was good but I wouldn't rate it as outstanding and we were really cold in the bar where we ate dinner and breakfast in the morning.
Our room was tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the shower room was delightful.
Overall I would be happy to stay here again.

A really impressive stay with so many unexpected perks like full english breakfast included & REAL coffee in the room + super modern bathroom facilities. Every single staff member we met was delightful and the view over the fields from our room was outstanding. Highly recommend!

What a lovely place to stay! Excellent location on a quiet road. We felt very welcome and being greeted to a glass of prosecco. The room was huge and tastefully decorated. We found the bed most comfortable. The breakfast was very good, especially the coffee. We also had a dinner, which was also nice.

Cosy , quiet country pub with rooms

Friendly staff , nice cosy pub , we had the John Constable room which had a lovely countryside outlook , comfortable bed , good quality bedding, quiet and comfortable , room had great extra touches such as fresh milk and bottled water all kept In a small fridge , delicious homemade cookies , teapot & caffitiere, beautiful lavender toiletries & nice fluffy towels . Breakfast was tasty with very high standard produce . Overall we had a lovely stay . The only downsides were the room had a few easy to correct cleaning issues , there was a lot of dust on wood on the poster bed and head board & the unit which held the tea tray had a lot of dust, a few cobwebs here and there and the shower screen had some limescale . Just needs a better eye for detail , apart from this the room was fine . Would stay again and recommend and was very good value for money .

Pretty much faultless

I can't fault this place. Our room was spacious, stylish and comfortable - the pictures on the website really didn't do it justice. And best of all the room was silent. No traffic noise, no noise from adjacent rooms. Perfect. We had double doors out to a seating area that looked over the countryside beyond. Lovely touches in the room like homemade biscuits, real coffee and a cafetiere, proper milk in a fridge, complimentary mineral water etc. The bed was HUGE and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was of excellent quality with a decent wine list. Not the most exciting of menus as there were no specials on that night but well executed and great service. Breakfast in the morning was superb - good quality ingredients, plenty of choice and expertly cooked. Check in and check out were friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking. This hotel is by far and a way the best for quite a wide area. I would say it represents superb value for money.

lovely room in beautiful quiet surroundings

lovely location with lots to see and do nearby (Sudbury, Halstead, Hedingham castle etc)
guest room was lovely , comfortable, clean, and had complimentary water, hot drinks selection, huge bathroom/shower and double vanity sinks, settee and tv with patio doors to tranquil garden outside.

overpriced !!!

the rooms were spacious enough and clean but no bath.
The pub was empty, not even a local and the food was awful, vegetables lack in any kind of flavour.
