The bungalow we had was very big and in good condition the staff were amazing our airport transfers that we ordered didn't show up on time the staff at reception called them and sorted everything out they were amazing the only thing I can say negative about the place was the breakfast not much to choose from

spent 2 nights here.. solo trip but will bring my wife next time. Beautiful, relaxing property. I’m not a pool guy, but the pool area was very nice. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Room clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Short walk to food and massages and scooter rentals. They couldn’t accommodate a late checkout for me, but they offered a different room for me to shower if I needed to later. Would definitely return if I stayed in Khoa Lak!

Wonderful property in Khao Lak

Fantastic Hotel in a Garden-like property.
The Villas are huge/spacious and have all comfort you need- with outside shower. 70 sqm big rooms.
Unbeatable price for what you get.
Never had a problem to get a sun bench - even when you arrive later.
Pools are nice. Breakfast has enough variety.
Overall nothing to complain about.

Nice but a bit outdated

Overall nice stay but the hotel seems a bit outdated: WiFi portal to connect dated from 2011, check out procedure where they check if you haven’t taken anything before letting you go, despite you being late to catch your plane... and then keeping your credit card info! However we had a nice stay and the rest of the infrastructures are very nice. Good breakfast and nice big pool and view on the beach.

A beautiful hotel, the grounds are really nice to walk through lined with trees and shrubs all well looked after. The staff could not be better so polite and helpful. No problem getting sun beds at the beach or pools. The food is excellent and the restaurant overlooks the sea it is a beautiful setting. Our room was spacious and spotless. Outside is a short walk to shops bars and restaurants all with a relaxed atmosphere,we went in January and there were mostly older people staying at the area which suited us as we are pensioners if you want a relaxed even if you are younger this is a good place it’s how Thailand should be.

Nice Place but hobby activities were not working

It was a nice Place, expecially the location and the buildings and the beach. One negative comment. It was a printed Program and there were Schedule for water aerobig etc.. This trainer/program leader was never there under our visit on time if at all. The explanation was f.ex. he/she is sleeping today, welcome next day again. It was an other activity and my wife asked whether the Program has been cancelled? No, the teacher is eating, she comes quite soon, after 15 minutes she had enough to wait and left.
Punctuality and customer respect should be better.

Location and staff were excellent. On the whole the facilities were very good with great pools and a great breakfast buffet. Our villa was set in mature gardens giving a feel of privacy and exclusivity. I particularly liked the outdoor rain shower.
The hotel was traditionally presented which i liked but might not be to everyones taste espiciallly those expectng a modern minimalistic style. Maybe could do with a little modernising but overall a very enjoyable place to stay.

Fantastic pool. Great location with huge choice of restaurants and bars very close. Staff were helpful - our booking was messed up as we were supposed to have a twin and a double but got two doubles and while they couldn’t help immediately they did move us when a twin room became available which our daughters appreciated.

Beautiful quiet location on the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful al though a couple of the waitstaff had trouble with English. Most of the guests when we were there were German and many had been there before and gave us advice on local eateries. However we liked the beachside dining area on the resort grounds so much we had dinner there several times. The Thai massage on the beach was fantastic and only 315 baht for an hour (10USD).

Great location. Beach at the back. Restaurants and markets a short walk away. Quiet and relaxing at this time of year. Not for party people. More for those who just want to get away from the hustle and bustle and chill out. Quite a bit of rain this time of year, but still the same temperature. Beautiful and hot.

A wonderful, quiet stay with everything we needed. Very clean and friendly, spacious. Great pools, beach and restaurant. We ate there and some close local places on the beach and road next to resort. Some cute shops close by. I got a massage and was awesome!! Only $30 for an hour oil massage.

Pools and Gardens are AMAZING

Amazing garden property with koi ponds and beautiful pools. Room was top notch and staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even went out of their way to help me sort out my late shuttle to Phuket. Not much of a beach but the pools more than made up for the lack of sand. Breakfast buffet was delicious...would definitely stay again!

We had booked a trip to Thailand, with 3 nights at one very special Resort (The Surin) with a further 7 nights at the Mukdara in Khao Lak. Both parts of the trip were fully paid. We enjoy new adventures, meeting new people, interacting with fellow guests and having fun with staff at resorts during our stays, pretty normal.
When we arrived at the Mukdara we were shown to our room. We asked to be moved because a nearby room had leaking gray water/ sewerage which gave off a bit of a stink. The Duty Manager was helpful in getting us settled into our new room. Our new room had giant red ants appearing every now and then, who knows what their bite would be like. No-one offered to deal with that.
We were unhappy because the Mukdara was obviously not the place for us. It offered none of the things we look for on a holidays, nor did the beach look anything like a booking engine’s website we booked through, except for the swimming pool which was good. The rooms weren’t bad, a bit dark inside, but otherwise ok.
It seemed to us that the Mukdara appears to cater only for mainly Germans and Asians. The “tour desk” which was a table in the lobby, with no attendant in sight, had only tour information in the German language.
There were dogs on the beach, who frequented the breakfast buffet and the German tourists loved to feed them and the staff did nothing about it.
Also the staff liked to adjust their nasal passages, while on meal / restaurant/bar attendance.

Mukdara review in the wet season

Low season in Khao Lak isn't just a change in the weather and ocean current's. The reduction in tourists and the change of the weather effects all businesses and certainly the resorts.

The Mukdara resort is an older resort. It was quite pretty with great pools and located in a nice spot with beach access and within walking distance to some local restaurants, bars and the nightly market.

Traveling with a young family we were restricted to the room for most of our 2 day stay. The room itself was large and included all the usual trimmings but a dusty air con system and plenty of hungry mosquitos made for an uncomfortable couple of nights.

The breakfast was reasonable and happy hour cocktails were quite cheap. Pity that there isn't enough tourists to add some atmosphere to the resorts restaurants.

Everything is great. But the wifi connection is not good. I try to use my iphone and ipad and mac book to connect to the hotel wifi, but it doesn't work.

Our stay was good better than I expected it to be the heat was over the top for us as there are no shaded areas to get out off the heat. the room was first class and cool but there was no way you could sit out on the balcony as the heat was draing.

We stayed 2 days at the Mukdara, left for a couple of days to Kao Sok and came back to spend another 6 days at the hotel.
Hotel is quite big but nice, well located, has a nice tropical garden, a large and a small swimming pool, with plenty of sun chairs to relax. Room is nice and clean, with a nice little balcony overlooking the pool.
Although the first 2 days were quite agreable, our second stay, right after New Year turned out to be a real Oktober Feest, with plenty of very noisy german guests squatting the pools and pool bars, shouting and laughing out loud from morning to evening, preventing anyone else from enjoying any quiet moment.
Our only experience at the restaurant did not turn out as it should have either, with hot Margarita's served and sent back, starters forgotten, Pad Thai served with shrimps although ordered with chicken, sent back too. Dish finally came back with chicken...and raw vegetables as it was rushed ouf the kitchen.

The hotel is nice. We stayed there for the fourth time (2009, 2011, 2013.2015). Compared to previous years, several deteriorated service - noisy company of young workers staff hours and loud conversations are not paying attention to the guests. In comparison with 2013 has slightly improved breakfast - a greater variety of dishes.

I couldn't fault this hotel great breakfast, attentive room cleaners. I'd suggest maybe putting in flat screen TV's with more selection there was only 2 english channels but maybe different in high season. Room service meals were good. Location is great with a mini mart opposite also a nice restaurant and beer garden at top of shop houses with good pricing. The location is excellent for beach, restaurants and shopping. I'd recommend this hotel.

Mukdara is een prachtig complex in een schitterende tuin met een zeer groot zwembad en nog twee andere pools. Ontbijt aan het strand is uitgebreid en lekker. Wij hadden een kamer van 45 m2, die zijn wel wat gehorig. De villa’s zijn nog ruimer, maar ook duurder; o.i. niet nodig. Er zijn gelukkig voldoende lekkere ligbedden aan het mooie strand. Jammer niettemin dat er altijd mensen zijn die zelfs al voor het ontbijt ‘hun’ plekje menen te moeten reserveren. In de omgeving zijn ruim voldoende restaurants, massagesalons, etc. Hoewel nu nog voldoende in orde heeft het complex vrij snel onderhoud nodig voordat het er echt slecht gaat uitzien. Jammer dat er rond de receptie verschillende gebouwen en zalen ongebruikt staan. Wellicht de coronaperiode niet overleefd…

Das Hotel hat eine sehr gute Lage, man kann hier schön Urlaub machen. Kleine zeitliche Mängel, könnte man erneuern( Risse an Mauer, Pool) um das Gesamtbild aufzufrischen.
Etwas ungewöhnlich ist ,dass man beim Frühstück andere Kaffeearten (Cappuchino...) zahlen muss??? und an manchen Tagen schmeckt der Kaffee nach Tee(die Kannen sollte man nicht tauchen!!)

Es war auf jeden Fall eine schöne Zeit!!

Im Resort geht es wirklich herrlich ruhig und relaxt zu, die Gartenanlage ist wunderschön. Auch größere Warane und große Fische sind zu sehen. Der Service gibt alles, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Die Anlage hat Gebrauchsspuren, aber nicht weiter schlimm, wie zum Beispiel, ein paar Wegesplatten die nicht akkurat liegen oder abgeplatzte Farbe. Der Tennisplatz ist etwas alt und im Fitnessraum sind die Gräte abgenützt...aber dennoch,wir kommen wieder. Die Lage, Khao Lak, der saubere feine Sandstrand, die ganz besonderen Villen, das nette Personal....als Gesamtpaket tipptopp.

The service was perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable. A few cosmetic renovations (broken floor tiles in the upper pool, lamps on the pillars of the pool bar, non-functioning massage jets in the pool) are long overdue. Overall, the complex is wonderful for a relaxing holiday. In terms of amenities, I would classify the garden villas as mid-range. The breakfast buffet should definitely offer freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee varieties. Guests love that on vacation!

Gute Anlage für einen tollen Urlaub

Die Anlage liegt sehr zentral für Abendaktivitäten, Speis und Trank und auch Ausflüge. Der Gesamtzustand der Anlage ist sehr gut, an manchen Stellen sollte bald renoviert/adaptiert werden z.B. die Bungalows. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und es wurde ein sehr gutes Frühstück geboten. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis finde ich sehr gut. Der Strand ist sauer und das Wasser rein. Die Sonnenschrime beim Strand könnten etwas weiter auseinander sein, sodass man etwas abgetrennter zu den Nachbarn ist. Der einzige Mangel, den die Anlage aber selber nicht beheben kann, ist die Lage an einer Straße die zum Meer führt, an der Bars und Restaurants liegen. Zeitweise gab es dadurch bis 01:00 etwas Lärm z.B. die Motorräder und tiefen Musikbass.

Wir hatten eine von den Villen. Die Umgebung und der Garten sind wunderschön. Traumhafte Lage fast direkt am Meer. Eigener Strandabschnitt. Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es für das Versprechen, dass die Rezeption unsere Postgarten abschickt. Diese sind jedoch nie abgeschickt worden. Und einen Punkt Abzug für die Sauberkeit der Zimmer. Der Föhn ist mir beim abnehmen auch fast mit Halterung entgegengekommen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ok. Wir durften kostenlos in einem der Hotelzimmer nach Check out duschen und Zeit verbringen.

Die Gartenanlage war richtig schön und die Pools groß und sauber. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer könnte verbessert werden, leider roch es unangenehm modrig aber mit lüften und Klimaanlage war das Problem nach 1-2 Tagen behoben, ist vermutlich wegen dem feuchten Klima normal.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Thai Essen im Hotel Restaurant war sehr lecker, es hat uns besser geschmeckt als in der näheren Umgebung.

Das Mukdara ist leider In dien Jahre gekommen mmen, die Villen sind alt und stark Renovierungsbedürftig!!! Leider wird dort weder an der Rezeption noch anders im Hotel kein Englisch oder Deutsch gesprochen. Lage Top Restaurants in Umkreis, daher Nur Frühstück gebucht. Kein wirklicher Strand, der Pool auch Renovierungsbedürftig......echt Schade. Wir kommen noch cht nochmal wieder!!

Anlage in die Jahre gekommen. Trotzdem alles noch in Schuss. Strandbereich nicht unbedingt toll. Lage passt, etwas erhöht. Man kann Strandspaziergang machen bis Khao Lak Beach. Bei Ebbe sogar zur anderen Seite zum schönen Khuk Khak Beach.

三階建ビルディングタイプのカテゴリーを予約していたので、何階かと？思っていたところ、三階でした。庭が見渡せて私達は上の階が好きなので問題はなかったのですが、階段しかないので、脚が悪い方やお年を召されたかたは、一階の客室がヴィラタイプを選んだ方が良いと思います。
ホテル内は敷地中程にBAR付きのプールとオーシャンビューのプールがありデッキチェアーの数も多いのでそれ程争奪戦にはならないと思います。
朝食レストランのスタッフの方々のサービスも良く教育されており、料理の品数も多い方だと思います。
余談ですが、ホテルから一歩出ればタイマッサージの店やレストラン、お土産や食べ物が屋さんが出るお祭りのようなナイトマーケット近くにあり便利だと思います。

Die Anlage ist sehr schön, das Personal extrem zuvorkommend und hilfreich der Strand ist toll.
Obwohl das Personal das Zimmer jeden Tag besucht hatte, wurde es aber nicht immer gereinigt. Das W-Lan ist sehr schwach.

We stayed here for two nights. A big room and bathroom at a garden villa, and great food at the restaurant. The pool is huge but not very inviting, we did have a swim there but it was just big and square with a bar in the middle so we got bored quite soon. (No kids) The gym is quite good for being a Thailand hotel gym, and extra plus for the cool towels. We slept well here and enjoyed our stay, but the hotel had put up warning signs for jellyfish so we didn’t bathe in the sea so that was really a downside. The hotel arranged to drive us to our boat transfer from Phuket and that was the worst of our stay. A nice car but the driver drove recklessly and made both of us car sick, which has never happened in Thailand before. Other than that a great stay and very helpful staff!

Vi havde 3 dejlige nætter på dette skønne Thailands inspireret hotel. Du bor i en frodig have. Service i top, smilende og imødekommende personale. Lige ned til flot strand. God varieret morgenmad

Super Hotel mitvTraumlage, Ruhe und Erholung

Super toller Aufenthalt mit der Familie, Traum Lage, sehr schöner Strand, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, Reinigung top, Frühstück hatten wir am Vortag bereits bestellt, kleine Auswahl aber sehr ausreichend, ist jetzt auch Nebensaison und waren fast ganz alleine im Hotel, auch renoviert wurde nebenbei war aber nicht störend
Vor dem hotel findet man alles was einem begehrt Shops. Essen und in 3 min Entfernung der große Nachtmarkt

落ち着いたリゾートで、綺麗な景色でリラックス

ビーチ沿いで、レストランからみる海の景色がとても綺麗。日暮れ時は夕焼けも。
ホテルの前の通りはレストランも多く、食事やちょっとした買い物には困らない。その割に、ホテル内は静かで、かなりリラックス出来ました。
プールも広く、コテージ含めてリゾート感あり。子供連れでも十分楽しめますが、やや大人のリゾートの雰囲気。
施設はやや古いものちゃんと手入れされており、きちんと掃除されてます。エアコンの調整はイマイチですが、フルに使っておけば十分に冷えるので、問題無し。Wifiはやや遅め。
今回は使用しなかったものの、ジムもランニングマシーンが複数台あり、十分と思います。

Bra läge, något slitet.

Mycket bra läge, nära till allt. Städningen inte helt ok. Hade besök av mus en kväll i badrummet som såg ut att bo under badkaret. Badrumsgolvet inte rengjort efter mus spill. Detta fanns kvar filera dar. Extremt varmt under vår vistelse och tyvärr gick det inte att svalka sig i poolen då desss var mycket varma. Även problem att få kyla från AC, vart något bättre när vi sa till om detta. Fick ha kvar rummet till 15.00 istället för att checka ut 12.00 utan kostnad.

Virkelig godt, og tilmed til en fin pris.

Store de-luxe huse. Super venligt personale og et højt serviceniveau. Meget smukt tropisk haveanlæg med små damme hvor frøerne kvækker lystigt om natten. Fin strand og 2 gode poolanlæg med poolbarer. Stort udvalg til morgenmad og kompetente drinkstjenere i barerne. Mange gode restauranter i gaden lige uden for hotellet.

Heerlijk resort met veel extra.

Heerlijk resort wat ons dit jaar al 3 keer goed is bevallen.
Fijne mooie tuin rustig gelegen en goed ontbijt en wat prettig is van dit resort geen plus plus met de eindafrekening.
Wij gaan zeker terug.
