Nice size hotel but on a very narrow plot. The beds on the beach were about six rows deep and the ones around the pool were four deep. The sun beds were good but the umbrellas were too small to supply enough shade and you couldn’t move them.

Breakfast was good although coffee from the machines was average. Lots of variety and choice in each section. Staff were lovely.

We had booked a deluxe room and were very grateful as they are on the ground floor and open directly on to the gardens. They have enough outdoor space for two sun beds, an umbrella and a table and two chairs. We spent most days sitting here as it was lovely and peaceful. The room was large, freshly decorated, with a good size bathroom and excellent shower. Towels were new and fluffy. the king sized bed was at least Emperor sized as it was two queens together so 10’ wide! Hilarious .
Housekeeping was hit and miss, the room often not being cleaned until mid afternoon and one day not at all until chased.
The gym was really not up to scratch. Small with very old machines and the exchangeable hand holds were missing so we couldn’t use most of them. The mats were dirty and ripped. Very disappointing as everything else was great.

The ramada hotel is great value for money - lovely beachfront location which is a great base for exploring the local area. The cleanliness and general service standards were first class.
We visited in August which is out of season, meaning that the hotel seemed generally quite quiet - sometimes had the pool to ourselves! Really difficult to find any fault with this hotel - the staff were exceptionally friendly and happy to help with any requests. The only feedback we could think of would be the options on the breakfast buffet - whilst great quality many items seemed like those you would expect from an evening or lunch menu.
Overall, would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

1. the breakfast is variety but the taste is soso.

They wouldn't even respond to attempts to charge booking, didn't answer emails.

We were due to attend as part of our honeymoon. But due to Covid-19 it was all delayed.

There is nothing I can fault. A true beachfront location with the pool less than 50 metres from the beach. The hotel was at 95% occupancy but it never felt busy or crowded. Great breakfasts. Close to local restaurants and markets. Above all everyone was friendly and helpful. 10/10

Superb hotel with great facilities

The Ramada resort at Khao Lak is a brilliant oasis with a fabulous location on to the beach. It is also very close to many other great restaurants, shops and bars so there is no shortage of other things to do.
The rooms are superb and the other on site facilities are very hood as well.
The only down side is the amount of building work going on around the hotel but that is an indication of its great location.

Great hotel. Beautiful on the beach. All the Thai staff are excellent and are warm and welcoming. Good breakfast and pool snacks. Sassi's restaurant is very comfortable and nice in the evening. Great pool with plenty of activities. Wel eqiped gym. Overall great service and the usual smile from the Thai staff. The only problem I encountered was on check in from a non Thai person. I had initally booked for 2 adults but was travelling on my own. My room was changed from a 1st floor room with a balcony to a ground floor room that had adjoining doors to the next room and with a terrace that was partly shared with the next door room. One of the worst locations in the hotel with no privacy on the terrace. I therefore did not use the terrace andvthis somewhat took away from my holiday.I felt that as a solo traveller I was treated differently having paid the same for the room that a couple would have paid. In the hotels credit in next few days after I spoke with Thai staff I was offered a different room. I may not return to this hotel because of the way that solo travellers are treated.

The Ramada Resort is amazing! In the U.S., Ramada isn't known as a top tier hotel chain. However, this Ramada Resort is almost perfect. The staff is as friendly as I've ever encountered. I can't thank them enough. I fell ill before I arrived. The staff arranged transportation for me to see the doctor and they drove me back to the resort. That evening, I had a get well card and flowers delivered to my room. Everyday, the staff asked me how I was doing. Simple the best people I've ever encountered.

The resort itself is wonderful. Amazing pool, good breakfast and right on the beach.

As for the local area, every restaurant we walked to had good food. There is a local night market within walking distance which was nice. Right across the resort is a good restaurant and a good place for laundry.

The first time my wife and I vacationed in Khao Lak, we stayed at the J.W. Marriott. Ramada Resort Khao Lak is our new favorite. We stayed 7 days and will stay longer next time. Thank you Ramada staff for everything.

Nice hotel with modern rooms, all facing the gardens or beach, ground floor with verandas and all others with balcony’s. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Breakfast is good, restaurants were largely empty as there are over 50 local restaurants within 10 minutes walk at half the price!

If you are looking for a relaxing hotel this is it. Short walk to numerous bars and restaurants if you want evening entertainment (lot quieter than Phuket if you want the club scene not the place for you)

Staff are very friendly and want to help.

Rooms ( 4101 - 4103) very modern and spacious. on the ground floor with balcony onto the garden and very short walk to the pool.

We have stayed here six times and can’t find fault with it. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is great, right on the beach but within easy walking distance of many restaurants. Excellent buffet breakfast. Sassi’s Restaurant is more expensive than town restaurants but service and food are very good. Next year will be even better when the refurbishment has been completed. We will return.m

Modern facility, beautiful area surrounding the main building, lovely swimming pull with pull side dining and drinking bar. At the beach which is clean, soft sand. The entire shoreline is beautiful.
Very good, rich breakfast (the only drawback is the lake of air conditioning in the dining room).
The staff is very kind and helful.
Locatiin is excellent, near many restaurants and 5 minutes by taxi from the center which has even more options.
We had one of the Deluxe rooms (I believe it is the entry level) which was large enough for 2+1. For couples there are more options facing the ocean.

The hotel is well located on the beach and close to shops and restaurants and bars. The food is excellent and buffet breakfast offers a fantastic choice. Cocktails at the pool/beach are a must, particularly the two for one happy hour! Most of all the staff made this a fabulous two weeks with their friendly and helpful attitude, nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed for 10 nights during the wet season in August. The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance close to beach, shops, markets and restaurants. We hired a motorbike for four days so we were able to explore further north and south. Beautiful beach \"white sand beach\" was perfect for swimming as the one directly outside Ramada was too rough for swimming at this time of year. We hired a bike from a nice expat english chap, Michael I think, first convenience store on the right as you walk out of Ramada. It was only 250 baht per day well worth it and hassle free. Staff at Ramada were friendly and welcoming and the buffet breakfast was fantastic! We had an ocean view villa which was nice, but with the constant rain we couldnt sit outside on the verandah as it wasnt covered. Too be honest we got tired of looking at the \"angry\" sea, so we upgraded to a pool villa for the last five nights which was a great decision. Villa was private and had a covered area so we could sit outside in the rain. Highly recommend Ramada!

Beautiful small resort with stunning grounds right on the beach. We stayed in a Deluxe Lanai Double room which was on the ground floor. The room was great. It was clean, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Great bath and shower. Housekeeping is fantastic and did a great job every day. Daily buffet breakfast was very good. The service staff are professional and happy. Pool, spa, restaurant are all very good.

Is This Really a Ramada?

What this hotel really is is a franchise. Owned by one Thai company and managed by another Thai company all under licence.

Destination for almost exclusively German package holiday makers booked thro' the tour operator Tui. Thus the quality of everything was ruled by price. Example the breakfast had all the same items as the 4 other hotels we also used during our trip - except just not quite as good, not quite as fresh or tasty.

First night the aircon in our room was so loud sleeping was almost impossible. We were moved to somewhere better only to find we were nearer to the building site next door where a new hotel is under construction.

On the positive side the staff were pleasant and tried hard, the pool was fantastic, the beach good and the organization of the sunbeds was excellent. No reserving of sunbeds.

Khao Lak as a whole - disappointing. Plenty to do right outside the hotel but nothing of real quality.

Thankful we were only there for 4 nights.

Just fantastic! No superlatives do it justice!

Fourth visit in 6 summers! Says it all!
Fabulous small personal accommodation in lovely location. Resort possibly changing as package scene starting and prices locally were higher than before but Khao Lak is a low key safe destination and the ramada is just amazing. Always helpful too with our daughter's unusual and rare dietary needs. They genuinely care about their staff and I do hope to return again in a couple of years.

Stays three nights after Karon. Nice location, great market three days a week in walking distance. Room 5108 had musty damp smell which hotel tried to ratify and offered to move us but there such a short time we opted for the oil burner which helped. Great little restaurants close by - Smile worth a visit and Rusty Pelican for a change from Thai food - overall a pleasant stay even though it rained the entire stay we expected this.

My fiancé and I had our wedding here, the wedding was for about 30 guest. Our wedding was perfect, the hotel was very professional and attentive. While we were taking our wedding photos outside they kept bringing us water and cool towels to stay cool in the 38 degree or so heat. The seafood buffet that was served for our reception was very good, and the hotel even upgraded our room upon arrival and then of course further upgraded us to the pool villa for our wedding day- this room is very nice! For anyone who is considering a wedding in Khao Lak, I highly recommend the Ramada Resort and Spa, things could not have gone better and I can not thank the staff at this hotel enough for making our special day that much more special. My family and all our friends had an amazing time.

Wonderful, relaxing hotel.

This hotel is in a beautiful setting and is tranquil but in strolling distance of shops, bars and beach huts. All the staff work well together and service is excellent in all areas, even around the pool. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very varied. Rooms were spacious and the air conditioning efficient and very welcome on hot days. We had a deluxe garden room which had a bigger patio area shaded for escaping the sun. Our friends had a deluxe room on the second floor which was a very similar layout to ours with a good sized balcony. We fully intend returning here for 3 weeks next January.

My Husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks over Christmas and New year 2015/16.
The hotel was excellent. Lovely pool with swim up bar. We were very lucky to get a room upgrade to a beech front villa which had spectacular views across the ocean and amazing sunsets. The staff at the hotel went to great lengths to lay on a great party for Christmas eve and new years eve in the grounds of the hotel, it all looked beautiful. I must say a big thanks to the pool bar supervisor who couldn't do enough for all guests providing sunbeds umbrellas etc.
We would love to go back!

Everything about the resort is meant to pamper and relax you. The scenery - gardens, beautifully designed pools and hotel design - is breathtaking. The food is varied and delicious and the staff just can't do enough to please. The surroundings and facilities are perfect for families, yet it is perfect for couples.

Good location on a nice quiet beach with plenty of restaurants within a 5/10 minute stroll. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. I thought the lanai room was worth the extra cost. There is construction work on the site next to the hotel at the moment but I didn't find the noise too intrusive.

This was the perfect place to spend 6 relaxing days after a busy 2 week tour. We had a deluxe lanai room (ground floor - room 3103) which was across from the large pool area, which we could access directly from our balcony. The rooms are spacious, clean & airy with all amenities you could require - very comfortable bed & great shower & deep wooden tub bath. The staff are friendly & accomodating. The food & restaurant is lovely & huge buffet breakfast on offer every morning - even a juicing station for your special fresh morning juice. The hotel buildings are set around the large pool area. The pool has different areas to it, so you can swim in the deeper part, sit in the shallower, warmer spa section or sit at the swim up bar. Happy hour 2 for 1 drinks, and other food & drink specials every day are a great bargain. Although it was the wet season while we were ther & we were unable to swim in the ocean due to the rough conditions, it was lovely to be located right on the beach, great for morning or evening walks & some great little beach bars and massage places on the beach, a short walk up from the Ramada. The Ramada is also only a short walk from 'food street' and the cafes, shops and markets of Bang Niang. The hotel offers many other activities too like cooking courses, afternoon teas, pool table, & other organised activites so you dont really have to leave the hotel at all if you arent inclined to do so. Airport transfers can also be arranged through the hotel.

Wonderful way for couple to spend time together

We had pool villa 6208 and felt a million miles away from everyone else at the resort in our secluded corner. The staff were all wonderful and very attentive, the meals both in the resturants and room service were always presented perfectly and tasted amazing, the pool bar had the right blend of happy. Being able to jump in to our own private pool at any time was bliss and made the experiance that little bit magical. Pim massage just outside the hotel was our first stop everyday on the way to local shops and eateries, as the hotel is so centrally located. Brillant job to Stefan and his team.

Close enough to walk the 50 metres from the resort to get a fantastic massage daily at pims out the front and dinner on the beach. The food at the hotel was fantastic and even by thai standards relatively inexpensive......loved every minute.

Love, love, love this place.

This was our second time staying at the Ramada Khao Lak and it was just as good as we remembered. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, the breakfast buffet is great, and the pool was perfect. Also, just up the beach are several restaurants that serve cheap and fabulous Thai food and drinks (we loved My Friend). We plan to go back again next year :)

Value for money resort!

My husband and I just stayed 6 nights a this nice resort.
Now we have stayed at the JW Marriott in Khao Lak which is another level higher in service & quality but for the price and location you can't beat this hotel.
It's a small resort with only one pool but it is not overcrowded at all.
Breakfast was sufficient.
We were dissappointed with the general activities not available, like yoga, Thai boxing, etc. we booked this hotel especially to be able to participate in these but nonetheless we did use the complimentary mountain bikes for a trip to Chong Fah Waterfall and complimentary 'turtle conservation' trip which was great.
Lunch specials around the pool and yummy and cheap and 'happy hour' with 2 for 1 drinks runs from 5pm to 6:30pm. 2 cocktails for 190THB!
We mainly ate at Tonson Beach restaurant just a short walk up the beach (turn left on beach). I've been to Thailand a lot and this restaurant has the best Mussamum curry ever! We also enjoyed the chicken cashew nut stirfry.
Value for money resort, especially if you have young children, as some rooms come with 2 queen beds which allow 2 kids to stay in the room free. I think breakfast costs extra but not much.
I'll definitely be returning and bringing my kids next time!

Great resort hotel

We originally planned to stay 4 nights in the Ramada Khao Lak Resort, but during our stay we decided two times to extend our stay with adiitional two nights. In the end we stayed 8 nights. We really liked the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Hotel is nicely located right on the beach, and actually has beach, something which the other hotels in the neighborhood do not have (sea comes right until the hotels). Plenty of sun beds around the pool, and another bunch of beds facing the beach and sea. Comfortable beds, small but well equiped gym, coffee shop on site. We stayed in july, meaning rainy season and thus not all shops in Bang Niang (the name of the village the hotel is actually in) are open. For us that was no problem at all. We rented a scooter in town, just to be a bit more flexible, not having to walk all the time, and make some tours in the neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay!

Great Hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Facilities are well maintained. Prices in hotel are similar to UK hotel prices. However if you go on to the beach and turn left you will find several good beach restaurants. Tonson is one of these, which is very good and very well priced.

Close the beach, local markets & restaurants

love the location of the resort, right on the beach. However, it was rainy season so didn't get to enjoy it. Through very friendly hotel staffs, found some neat local stores, markets and restaurants with in 5-10 mins walk. Not to mention about the inexpensive Thai massage outside of the resort. Also the Thai people are very nice and genuine, especially, the local taxi drivers. They took us to different places, such as the Safari, Khao Lak National Park and the turtle farm. The drivers act as a tour guide, showed us around and even served us water about the elephant trekking. One of the drivers even bought me fruit before he picked us up at the resort. I really enjoy the location a lot out of the way from the big city Phuket. There are a few things to mention about the resort, their WiFi connection is really slow and weak, selection of DVDs were dates, the DVD player in our room made really loud noise during the movie. We normally wouldn't use much of those facilities, but it rained so much that we had to spend some time in the room. Best time to travel to Thailand would be Jan, Feb and Mar.

A great resort on the beach

Friendly staff, great food, clean rooms and relaxing feel. We stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed every night. There are a few small restaurants on the beach nearby. Great area to stay if you're interested in snorkeling or diving. The staff were very helpful and understanding and did whatever they could to help.

From start to finish this hotel and its wonderful staff exceeded all my expectations. After a little mistake on the first night with the softshell crab ;), the staff involved went out of their way to ensure myself and my wife where looked after. Im sorry Sandals you could learn an awfull lot from this hotel. If I could have put 6 out of 5 I would have. cannot praise these guys enough and its easy to see why they get sold out so often. Great Three-Night Stay

My husband and I booked this hotel for 3 nights, so that we could do some day dive trips to Boon Sun Wreck and Richelieu Rock between two other planned tours, and wanted something convenient to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff welcomes you with a cool drink at a table with a view over the grounds, pool, and ocean while taking care of the check-in details. Room very comfortable, roomy, and well-appointed--we stayed on an upper level so could look out over the grounds and pool (with ocean on other side of the pool). Buffet breakfast had a large selection of hot and cold items, plus eggs-to-order station. Dinner at the restaurant next to the beach was very good, and the waitress extremely helpful. Half-price cocktails at the pool from 4-5 pm. Very clean beach--we enjoyed walking it daily. Borrowed the resort's bikes to ride around town the last morning before checking out. One of the best places we stayed on our three week trip.

The Ramada met all our expectations and provided us with a great base to explore Khao Lak as well as kick back and relax. The area is pretty quiet this time of year so we were glad we booked this hotel, as it is very convenient to shopping, restaurants and scooter hire. Other resorts seemed a bit too remote for us. The staff were wonderful. Food choices vast and very tasty. This resort appeared to cater well for all types of travellers from young couples, families, to older travellers etc. We would certainly stay there again.

Lovely Hotel on the beach, the staff try hard. Hire a scooter and discover the National Parks, waterfalls, and great restuarants and beaches, walk out of the hotel and the 1 st group of shops have scooters, and the Massage place there very good too, the Japanese restuarant on the other side of the road gping away from beach is spotless and amazing food.. We had wonderful weather which helps lots too.

Great boutique hotel, greatly located in Khao Lak

We stayed in Ramada Khao Lak from 5th Jan'12 to 13th Jan'12

Ramada is actually a boutique hotel & is really nice, not too big, very well located on Bang Niang beach.

Deluxe Oasis rooms are nice & spacious, well decorated, with all you can expect. Bathroom is really nice as well.

Breakfast is good, though not the best we have ever had, still good. And not only for german people as we had read on the Internet !!

Staff is really helpful & very smiling. I have to mention Toh & the beach staff who did a great job, always trying to help & making sure you dont need anything.

Beach is really nice (nicest spot on Bang Niang beach actually), as the pool. Sunbeds are always available.

Outside the hotels, many restaurants in Bang Niang to have diner or lunch. We do recommend
* Green Pepper, in Bang Niang Village. Great Thai food and nice restaurant
* Inder's Chullah (Indian restaurant on your right on road when you walk out of Ramada). Great food !
* Chong Fah's restaurant : nice restaurant with good Thai food with a view on the beach
* Sawasdee :in Bang Niang Village. Good Thai food
* Mali seafood : in Bang Niang Village, good Indian & thai food
* My Friend : beach restaurant (walk on the left when you are on the hotel's beach). Nice & slow ;)
* Tonson's : closest beach restaurant on the left of the hotel. Not as good as we had read on the Internet. My Friend was better.

In the hotel, the excursion desk did a great job with our Similan D2/1N excursion. Seastar, which took care of us fro 2 days, did a fantastic job. They are really open do changes if you do not want to snorkel but prefer staying on the beach at the end of the afternoon when all tourists & speedboats leave. The food they do provide on the island is good and there was plenty of it (atucally too much for us two).

Hotel is 5min in taxi from Khao Lak City, which costs 150 THB per way. Try to negociate 100THB per way if you are more than 2 in the taxi.

One of us two did also some diving with Big Blue Diving in Khao Lak, which is a nice diving club !

Overall, we have a great stay, close to perfection !
We will come back at Ramada, should we stay in Khao Lak again, 100% certain !

We were made to feel special from the time we arrived to the time we departed. The room was great although next time I would like one of the ones on the beach, they were clean and housekeeping over all excellent checking you had what you needed, reception staff very helpfull, but I have to say the staff around the pool were second to none

Would definatly stay there again without hesitation and have recommended to friends already

When can we go back

Great location right on the beach and within walking distance of local bars and restaurants. We stayed in a ground floor room with veranda which was nice and then the beach villa for the last 2 nights, no wonder these get booked up quickly they are fabulous. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The A la Carte food in the restaurant is extremely good and very reasonably priced. We would definately recommend this hotel for a great holiday.

This hotel is just so so and I regret not picking one of the other more well known hotels in the area. Off season the town is dead dead dead. While someone who does not travel a lot may love this, as a pro traveler that gets to stay in many 5 star hotels with business, this felt a bit average.

great place to relax

We stayed at the Ramada for 12 nights with our children (aged1&6) & loved every minute. Our room was large and spacious (2 queen beds) & the bathroom was excellent. The included buffet breakfast was fantastic & the staff could not have been more helpful & accommodating. The surrounding area is quiet but with enough restaurants & shops to not get bored. We didn't eat dinner in the resort but there were several little restaurants on the beach which were great value & amazing food. The only slight dissapointment was the that the kids club was a playroom staffed only on request so our 6 year old wasn't keen. It didn't diminish our enjoyment though as the pool was great & most of our time was spent there anyway. We will definitely go back.

Excellent hotel but the pool needs maintenance

A great hotel, excellent service and well recommended.
Beware though if you have children that the pool is edged with reconstituted marble tiles that are very slippery and have some sharp edges. Also in the pool some tiles don't have rounded edges and might present a hazard.

We (couple 59/63) stayed from Oct 23 till Nov 3, 2010 for 11 nights in this Hotel. We enjoyed the stay very much. As we are frequent travelers, we can rate this hotel in all above criterions as good to very good. Management was always present both either during breakfast or during the day, checking the operation and performance of staff as well to get feedback from the guests about any inconveniences. They were also very helpful for any questions the guest was raising. One small problem we faced was the front desk phone operator who had problems with the English. We were informed by Management that this issue is in the process to be resolved.

You could not find a better resort in Khao Lak. Amazing Experience!!!!

We had the most amazing time at the Ramada in Khao Lak. The staff were divine, the food spectacular and the location perfect. We had 2 Adults and 2 Children in one of the Twin Queen Bedrooms, there was amble room and the evening turn down service was a nice touch. You could comfortably stay and eat within the resort for the whole duration of your trip, food was good value for money and of a high quality. Couldn't recommend the Ramada enough, we can't wait to return next July!

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of many places.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
We received our room ahead of time, even though it didn’t seem possible at first.
The room was spacious, in good condition, and very clean.
The breakfast was plentiful and varied.
There was plenty of space in the pool area, and sunbeds were not reserved in advance.
I definitely recommend this place, and if I travel here again, I would choose it again.
