Staff were excellent, initial problem with no wifi signal was resolved the next day. Booked a villa overlooking the pool but must say that it was in need of updating,looking very tired. Pool bar area very similar with missing tiles and algae around the elephant fountains. Signs around pool stating that towels on sunbeds will be temoved if not used for more than an hour yet towels placed on beds to reserve from before 7am and not in use until patrons had finished breakfast anytime up until 10am. As stated,staff were great but badly managed on the whole.

Best thing is the location, lots of bars and restaurants nearby within walking distance and in my opinion the best area after venturing out further afield.
Rooms have terrible lighting though, which is very frustrating. Air con far too noisy.
Staff were fabulous though, great choice on brekkie, lovely takeaway pizza at night, good choice of 2 pools

Decent price for the stay. Wifi could be a bit iffy and sometimes the breakfast options could pall but all in all, like I said, decent. About a 10-15 minute walk to a very clean and fairly empty beach. Even more beautiful beach only a 15 minute taxi ride. Local restaurants were good and walkable. I wish we had thought of the hotel massage option as my wife had a hotel organized massage on the last day and said it was the best of the trip. Would I come back? Yes, I think so. Good value for money.

As alway the staff in Thailand are always friendly and helpful, this hotel is amazing value for money,my apartment overlooked the swimming pool which is very clean and a very good size,plenty of sun loungers,the room was very clean, plenty of hot water ,shampoo and shower gel, not stupid little bottles, not the best bed for me but everyone is different, breakfast was really nice,plenty on offer,nice coffee,I would definitely visit again if I were staying in this town,thanks to all the staff for making it a very happy visit.

아기자기하고 가족 여행하기 딱 좋았어요! 바다가 생각보다 조금 떨어져 있어서 바다 보고 싶은게 목적이면 바다 앞이 있는 숙소로 잡는거 추천해요. 장소며 분위기며 다 너무 좋은데 딱 하나 별로였던건 방 청소를 해줄때 조금 대충 닦는 느낌이 드네요. 그래도 스태프 분들이며 다들 너무 친철하고 잘해주셔서 좋았습니다! 아침도 매일 메뉴가 바꿔서 심심치 않게 먹었습니다. 과일도 많고요.

Beautiful gardens with two pools

We choose the villa again this year. But room 8504 seemed to have a lot of mosquitoes on the balcony. Lucky thai spray works.
I requested a topper for my bed which arrived promptly. Large walk-in shower in fact the whole bathroom was large. Mini fridge,two bottles of water a day,tea,coffee and creamer. TV
Air-con fixed. Block out cutians would help as there are fairy lights around the beautiful gardens.
Breakfast was so so. A very short walk to the street where there are lots of restaurants, 2 711, and two supermarkets.
The staff are always happy and very helpful.

We stayed 45 nights love every minute at The Leaf on Sands. Villa was right near the big pool. Beds a little hard but the maids fixed that with extra padding a doona.
Bar fridge, 2 bottles of water,tea,coffee and creamer.
Big walk-in bathroom plenty of space for your toiletries.
Nice veranda with two chairs and table. Even they have this in your room. Safe easy to use. Breakfast was at The Sands resort golf cart delivered us there excellent.
Last few days breakfast was at The Leaf. Just outside plenty of restaurants, supermarket, 711.
Thai bank close for your money exchange.

Love the leaf on sands so relaxing and peaceful. Beds a bit hard, air-con wonderful. A small fridge,kettle two bottles of water a day as well as tea, coffee and creamer.
Pool is outstanding perfect. Just a short walk to restaurants on the main street. Breakfast buffet everyday.

A case when photos and misleading information sell the room. According to the description I booked chalet room which included balcony. However, we were placed on the ground floor with no access to the frist floor. Obviously, there was NO balcony. I chose the room because I thought it's either upstairs or as it is implied, the whole chalet comes with the booking. But it wasn't the case.
Cons: Staff doesn't care what customers do. Swimming pool was used already at 6:30 am by large number of kids making noise, jumping

We stayed 8 nts in there chalet which was lovely. Beds comfy two pillows air-con good a mini bar for drinks. It was Right beside one of there pools. Buffett breakfast with real orange juice and plenty of fruit. Egg station with bacon, Asian dishes as well. Toasted worked well slices bread or loafs you cut yourself. Staff very friedly
Beautiful morning gardens there is a bigger pool with a swim up bar.

Easy check in. Room has everything you need. Beds are hard. Cleaned daily. Breakfast has good choices. Bit of a walk to beach on a hot day but two pools to choose from at the hotel - the bar pool was usually full so the top pool was a better opion for us. Easy walk to restaurants (plenty of). Balcony is a bonus. Enjoyed our time at the Leaf on the Sands and would be happy to stay again.

We stayed many nights at the Leaf on Sands its is a peaceful resort with beautiful gardens and two pools with lounges one even has a swim up pool bar or you can sit and eat and drink they have a few table and chairs.
The room is large air-con works well also a mini fridge,two bottles of water a day plus tea,coffee and creamer. A big walk in shower and plenty of room for you toilet bag. Beds firm plus two pillows, TV has a movie channel. Ladies cleaning your room do a great job everyday.
Buffet breakfast was so so as it was low season. Just outside plenty of restaurants and Supermart and 711. Nice bar right near our resort.

Disappointment with standard if the room.

We were disappointed with the standard of our room. The room was damo and had a horrible musty smell. The room was very tired/well worn and it needs a refurbishment including the bathroom. We expected a higher standard room for this hotel chain. We have stayed in many hotels in Thailand of a similar star rating/price and have had much nicer rooms.
We liked the location it was easy to get to the beach and for the shops/bars and restaurants.
The beach was lovely.
The breakfast was okay.

Served purpose for short stopover

Due to airline delay we only ended up spending 4 hours in our standard room rather than overnight. The hotel grounds looked nice and tidy. The pool is very small. The room was a good size but but rather dark due to dark timber. The floor in the shower was extremely slippery. Some guest noise could be heard from outside but not annoying. If I was staying longer I would opt for a higher classification roombut the standard room was fine for a short stay. Staff were friendly.

Very good hotel, few minutes walk to beach & central Khao Lak town. Lovely pools, however requires more shade around pools & a shower at leaf pool. Breakfast had adequate choice with egg station. Lovely grounds well maintained. We had an extra bed in room which was ready on arrival. Clean towels & beach towels every day if needed. Would definitely stay again.

I booked my hotel with the leaf on the sands but when I arrived they told me that the hotel was full. They upgraded me to the leaf Oceanside which was very nice of them. They also comped a couple of dinners for me. Hotel is nice, very clean and the staff was very friendly! 3 minute walk to the beach. Hotel is quiet. The resteraunt had great food too.

Good:
- close to town
- newish with good facilities
- breakfast is good
- rooms are a good size.

Poor:
- very little shade around the pools
- noise from the nearby main road in bungalows
- evening bar is on main road; not very romantic

Bad:
- long, hot walk to the beach. There is no shade on the beach so it's hard to stay there fit any length of time. You can shower in their sister hotel but not use any of the facilities such as lounges etc

Not recommended because lack of access to beach means that there is better holiday accommodation available

Great for the price we paid 1517 Baht. Air con was not working as well because the hot weather outside. Breakfast is not much choice, however, i get what i paid for. This hotel is not on the beach 600 m walking through ĺeaf by katatani hotel which is 5 star hotels. If you have a budget book the 5 stars one.

Excellent mini resort. All the services you would of a larger complex without the butlins feel. Great location on the main road close to restaurants/bars. Breakfast was good although not amazing. Two pools, spa on site. Standard room very spacious. Grounds were the best aspect of the resort, very tropical feel. Try and get a room not near the pools for a bit of extra privacy.

Quick check in. Good maintained hotel. Rooms are quiet. Beds are comfortable. Pity that our air-conditining couldn't be set on a certain temperature. So it was freezing cold during the night. Anyway I would recommend this hotel. Very decent price again quality.

I stayed at the Leaf on the Sands for 4 nights during a short diving vacation in Khao Lak. The hotel is conveniently located at the northern end of town. The property is nice, but I wasn't particularly impressed with the service. The English skills of the reception staff I dealt with were limited and I did not find them to be particularly friendly by Thai standards. The free buffet breakfast was OK, but with limited dishes. The wireless internet service was quite annoying in that it required frequent re-entry of the login and password information.

Good hotel - close to beach and restaurants

The hotel was nice and mostly everything was a positive experience. The pool wasn't cleared of leaves everyday, which is a shame. The food wasn't so good, breakfast was ok, but some of the basics (like not cleaning prawns etc) were a bit lacking. The staff were really attentive, nothing too much trouble, including fixing the air con in the room at 2am when it broke. The rooms were cleaned regularly and thoroughly, the one thing missing is a do not disturb sign, asking them to come back later was a little lost in translation. The hotel is close to the beach and close to all the restaurants in the area so it's a really good location. The staff work hard to keep the hotel and the grounds clean and they're all friendly.

Was ok, the first room we got was super small, we changed to the “vila” was was super old and dirty. We had a lot of ants in the room so we changed again and then it was much better but only for the last night.
The service of course was amazing, the staff really tried to fix and arrange everything, we even got a plate of fruit to the room as an apology, but the hotel and villas are just too old and cranky.
We paid around 90€ per night, guess one can find a better value for money then this place.

Im Großen und Ganzem ok. Sehr nettes und höfliches Personal. Sehr ruhig und überschaubar. Das Pool ein wenig ungeschickt gefugt dadurch viele Unebenheiten. Tut ganz schön weh wenn man nicht aufpasst. Die Zimmer sind praktisch eingerichtet, genug Platz in den Schränken. Das Badezimmer auch ok. Die Zimmer wurden eher nicht gründlich gereinigt. In zwei Wochen wurden ca alle 3 Tage die Handtücher gewechselt, gewischt wurde eher selten. Bei Anfrage an der Rezeption wurden die fehlenden Handtücher (vergessen) unmittelbar gebracht.
Die Terrasse wurde selten bzw. in zwei Wochen etwa 2-3 mal gereinigt. Der Tisch wurde gefühlt nie abgewischt.
Frühstück ausreichend. Eier kann man bis zum umfallen essen, Wurst gibt es nur eine Sorte so wie Käse. Wenn etwas fehlte, dauerte es meist ein wenig länger bis Nachschub kam. Eintönig , aber man verhungert nicht! Umgebung sehr gut!

One of the best choices in Khao Lak!

Pretty nice hotel with good nature and trees. Very good value for the money. Nice breakfast with Egg station. Recommended!

Fint mindre sted omgivet af fin have.

Vi boede 5 dage på dette hotel. Meget rent og fin service. 2 pools - den ene for børn, og den anden en rolig pool. Ligger fint i forhold til by og indkøb, men der er lidt langt til stranden

Opgradering til luksus

Jeg skulle have boet på søsterhotellet ved siden af men blev opgraderet pga overbookning . Ingen klager over det . Det er virkelig et lækkert hotel - rent og pænt både mht værelse , faciliteter og ikke mindst den smukke have. Gode pools . Dejligt der både m pool og morgenmads restaurant kun for voksne. Men da jeg mødtes med mine børn og børnebørn var det helt sikkert også alle tiders hotel for børnefamilier med pool med vandrutchebaner, fodring af fisk , legeland .
Dejlig strand.
Hotellet kan klart anbefales til både børnefamilier og voksen ferie
