Clean rooms, friendly staff and very nice surroundings.
The only downsides was that our door was really hard to lock and unlock- that was quite a challenge every time we got out/home and we thought the beach would be right next to the pool, however it was across the road - not far.
We really enjoyed the stay.

Hotel staff were exceptional! Greeted warmly every time we were in reception and extremely helpful! Special shout out to the concierge Lek who was absolutely lovely! Breakfast was a little busy and therefore presentation was little sloppy at times. Pool area was too crowded for us so didn’t use it.. probably wouldn’t stay here again despite wonderful staff

We enjoyed our stay at The Leaf Oceanside. The property grounds were spacious and well cared for. The two pools were adjacent to each other, with plenty of sun beds. Whilst quite a lot of these were claimed early, the property also scattered quite a few sun beds nearby on the lawns, so everyone could find a place to sit. Breakfast was pretty good, with (limited) bakery, fruit and cereal options, plus a couple of stir fry Thai dishes and eggs. We stayed in a palm villa room which was reasonably spacious and comfortable. There was nothing to watch on TV except news channels. The team were always polite, but I thought they lacked the usual Thai hospitality of warmth and smiles.

Not suitable for allergy sufferers.

I’m still awaiting a refund for my last night stay as I had to leave the hotel early due to lack of care in the restraint following my allergies. I told them at the reception and even told the staff when ordering and I still was given food with things I’m allergic to. My throat swelled up from this and they tried to explain that I should show a card to explain my allergy every time I go to the Restraunt?
And the mango juice was heavily diluted. I wanted fresh squeezed juice and they didn’t give it.
Other than this a generally nice hotel to stay.
I will give a better review if and when I get my refund back which the management have emailed me to state is processing but also it doesn’t say on this app that it is being processed? They also said 45 days for a refund to be applied which makes me believe they say this so it’s too late to give a bad review… not too late for me though.

On arrival at the hotel we had such a great welcome, a tea and ice cold flannel to cool us down. The staff were really welcoming. To get to our room we had to walk through the restaurant. Our room overlooked the 2 large pools and grounds which was actually really nice. The room was ground floor with a large balcony area. It was a large room with a massive bed, decent size bathroom and all the facilities we needed like kettle and fridge etc. The only things it was lacking was a privacy screen of some sort as we were ground floor so you could see straight into the room, no good if you wanted to walk around naked! Also the massive units by the side of the bed were pretty pointless? They didn’t even have drawers in, just the light switch at the front forthe above bed reading lights.
We realise that most plug sockets in Thailand are dodgy but it was hard to get phone leads etc plugged in at the bedside. Fortunately we take a 4 plug extension when we travel anywhere now.
The shower wasn’t the best either, very weak.
Lots of storage provided and the usual safe etc.
the location was good, a short walk to the beach and also to a local night market and to the main strip where there are loads of restaurants and shops. We had a few local massage places round the corner which we used and they were good and reasonable too.
It was also easy to grab a taxi at the hotel entrance rather than using the onsite one as she was more expensive we found.
We would come back but not to this hotel

A very nice, clean hotel, friendly and attentive staff. Excellent choice for breakfast.Not quite on the beach but that can be reached via a little alleyway(about 50 metres). A few bars and restaurants close by but it's only a 10 minute walk to the main road with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants.

Amazing stay at the leaf ocenside. The beach is literally 2 mins away walking distance. Breakfast was good but avoid going there during 9-10am since it could be very crowded. The room will always have 2-3 mosquitos every night so prepare yourself with mosquito repellent or need to catch them every night before going to sleep

This resort is perfect for people looking to have a little oasis getaway. We stayed in a Palm Villa and it was worth the upgrade. Very clean, great amenities, breakfast buffet was more than sufficient and staff were over the top friendly. It is a 2 minute walk to the beach, which is not overcrowded and has tons of little restaurants. The pool area is small but beautiful and the resort is walking distance to shops and restaurants on main drag.

Our only not so great experience was the food at their on site at their little restaurant (outside of breakfast). We tried a few times and just not good. But again you are so close to so many great restaurants this would not impact returning.

We loved our stay here. Breakfast was great. Beach 2 minutes walk. Khao Lak centre 5 minutes.
Certain aspects, the Pool and Bathroom, could use a bit of TLC, and the beer fridge, temperature definitely need looking at because if your going to sell a small Chang for £2.15 in 30+c heat it has to be very chilled.
So I'm very happy we stayed here and the above isn't a problem, except the beer 😁

Nice hotel in a good location. My only criticism is the pool area and the need to go via the restaurant to access the accommodation.
The pool only has vertical ladders to enter/exit it. Guests who less agile cannot easily enter/exit the pool. Roman steps in one area of the pool would easily resolve this issue.
Access to the accommodation from the reception area is via the open plan restaurant, which means that all luggage has to go via the same route. It reminds me somewhat of hotels in Vegas where you have to go via the casino with your cases to get to the rooms.

On arrival our room was full of mosquitos and we discovered they were getting in through large gaps in window frames. We plugged the gaps with lots of toilet paper which helped. There was no fumigating for our whole stay and we could not spend time on the balcony without being bitten by loads of mosquitoes despite using repellents

The Leaf Oceanside Pools and Grounds are really well kept .The Location is convenient to Restaurants , Bars and Supermarkets . Breakfast is good value . Staff here are really efficient and pleasant . We would love to return to Khao Lak and the Leaf again .

Nice hotel very hard to see the difference in rooms so was unsure if we got what we paid for (cottage room ) as they all looked the same from the outside. Could do with blackout drapes, bedside drawers and a clock. Beds were firm but comfortable. Bathroom nice and clean. Staff were generally polite but at times were a bit disinterested.

A Wonderful Relaxing Stay at Kho Lak

We have stayed at this accommodation 2 years ago and everything is just as good as before. Very clean rooms and surrounds tidy and well presented. Breakfast in the restaurant was ample and lots of choice. The pool is very popular however it is very clean and well serviced. I will holiday again at this wonderful resort for a rest and to enjoy local food. The staff are very friendly and keen to talk to clients.

We were only here for one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. There's not much around Khao Lak, so all there is to do is to relax around the pool and relax on the beach. The room was very nicely decorated, spacious and the bed comfortable. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were all very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks at the restaurant was very nice too.

Greaf value for money hotel in lovely surroundings

We really enjoyed our stay at the Leaf Oceanside. It is very well located a short walk from the beach and bars and restaurants of Nang Thong (though this is quite a quiet, chilled destination overall). Our Garden room was huge and very comfortable with lovely views over the excellentelly kept gardens and pool. The pools are great and not overly busy so easy to get sunbeds. Only points of improvement would be better wifi in the rooms, service was a little slow in the restaurant, the breakfast buffet wasn’t great but was adequate and they seem to have a questionable like for Westlife music which was playing all the time! Overall though this hotel is excellent value for money and we would definately recommend for those looking for a chilled holiday and base for exploring Khao Lak and surrounding area.

Well upon arrival to pucket airport I rented a car drove to the leaf resort and checked in, as the day progressed I had a car accident the car was undriveabl. When the police arrived they called the leaf resort to come pick me up they told them the only way they would do that is if I paid 1250bt...great way to treat your guess when your back is to the wall. The staff were very cold and spoke almost no English, if staying in KHAO LAK do your research!...resort looked large but was very small no shuttle service any where....however the food was very good and rooms were small and clean.

This hotel is comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. The room was spacious and kept very clean. We were in their more basic room which is in a larger block than the rest of the room options and we did experience some noise, particularly from people in the corridors.

The pool and grounds are nice but the sun loungers and tables needed cleaning and maintenance. There is a coin operated laundry and beach towels are provided.

This is a quiet resort and we had a relaxing stay however there were quite a lot of very young pre school children which could spoil the tranquility at times.

Overall we would recommend a stay here.

A pleasant mid- range hotel near the beach

We always chose smaller, mid range hotels and found this to be very pleasant and well located. The hotel is undergoing renovations at the moment and staff were working on surrounding garden rooms, near ours so I am guessing ours was due as there were some areas which were beginning to look a little tired. Having said that, it was still a very nice room with lots of space - far bigger than other rooms we have stayed in. The balcony was private as we were set back away from the pool but that meant peace and quiet.
The pool area was nice and not too busy, We were able to get loungers everyday without having to do the 'dawn towel run' which was refreshing!
Staff were friendly and attentive. You did not have to wait for service - food and drinks on tap throughout the day and good room service.
The spa was very nice and we took advantage of the special offer prices which were only slightly higher than the local massage salons but with much nicer surroundings and better quality massage than we found in the nearby streets.
We were disappointed with the breakfast buffet. There are plenty of choices and there was some variation in the hot dishes but food was often cold regardless of when you go. The only time we got hot food was if we asked for it to be reheated on the griddle while we waited.
Also, the room service was inconsistent; bedding and towels were changed regularly and bins emptied but the shower and sink area not really touched with no evidence that they had been cleaned.

The Sands Oceanside is a beautiful smallish resort close to the Nan Thong beach and town, the Villas we stayed in were really nice overlooking the 2 pools. The housekeeping was excellent, breaky was good all the staff really friendly and helpful...the only real negative was the wi-fi wasn't that good

Upon arrival, rooms were very clean and appeared well maintained. Due to our large group size, we stayed in Leaf rooms and Garden rooms. While the Garden rooms were more spacious, both were comfortable and didn't feel undersized. The resort configuration was great with both rooms facing inward towards the pool and were situated on the ground floor (resort is no higher than two floors). Plenty of choice at breakfast and staff were always friendly when needed. Air conditioning was great in all rooms, however it was ducted in the Garden rooms and proved to be slightly better. Each of us had a massage at the resort's Sila spa and were very pleased with the facility and staff there. The resort is located a minutes walk from the beach and nearby restaurants were cheap and fantastic.
We would definitely recommend The Leaf Oceanside to anybody travelling to the area as we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Convienent to Baech and Town

An easy walk to the beach (,2 minutes) nice long beach, walk the other way to town main street 5 minutes. The hotel is open ,clean nice large rooms. The room fridge is empty but easy to put your own drinks in .
The staff's comprehension of English in this far away end of Thailand is lacking and at times frustrating.
( I dont speak any Thai)

Great getaway

We stayed at the Leaf as a stop over between over night stays at Koh Surin and Koh Similan. The neighborhood had a few good restaurants and we were able to get some diving supplies as well. The staff was quite helpful and we also managed to get a few loads of laundry done despite needing to check-in late and check-out early.
The beds were simply amazing. They were memory foam mattresses rather than traditional spring beds and after spending the previous two nights in a tent it felt glorious. I would gladly stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for the first 6 days of our holiday and was really impressed with the hotel. The rooms were clean and well looked after, the beach is only 5 mins walk away and the location is perfect for the shops and restaurants. If i return to Khao Lak i would stay at this hotel again.

Outdated hotel, unfriendly staff, not worth a $

At check in the staff were very unfriendly and were rude. They were very unprofessional and lacked basic hotel service.
The rooms were like a 2 star hotel, the bed was 2 singles joined but one was very hard and the other was semi-soft. There were mosquitoes everywere, no minibar.
The buffet breakfast was one of the poorist i've ever had. The toilet wouldn't flush and the hair dryer was poor, all the furniture and fittings were form the 1970s.
Very few Thai people work at the hotel not worth going to this hotel or town. The whole town was made up as most of the thai people died or left after the tsunami. A local Thai person told us no Thai live in this city, its only for English or Germans. The staff were all rude foreigners from other asian countries. If you want to travel to Thailand and not see a Thai person & not eat Thai food then this place is for you. The food in the hotel and local shops was fish and chips or a poor example of Thai food (similar to what you would get from your local chinese resturant). We had to travel out of town to a real Thai village to eat Thai food. The taxis, massages, food etc were triple what you would pay at any other area in Thailand. They charge a high price because the English and Germans know no better. Traveling 5min in a taxi will be 300 bhat while in other towns it would cost 30 bhat. This town is dead quiet even in peak season. Highly recommend not staying in this nasty hotel!!!
