We had a truly wonderful stay at Moracea Resort and are already looking forward to returning.

We traveled with our three-year-old, and while there weren’t many young children at the resort, we consistently felt welcomed. Every staff member we encountered was kind and accommodating, which made a big difference for our family.

The service was exceptional throughout our stay. The team went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, and a special thank you to Nat and his team for their attentiveness and warmth.

Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked perfectly (a must in the heat), the beds were great, and the daily housekeeping kept everything feeling fresh and relaxing.

The breakfast buffet was outstanding—easily one of the best we’ve experienced. There was an incredible variety of options, all fresh, well-prepared, and consistently replenished.

The pool and beach areas were equally fantastic. Many guests have private pool villas, which meant the main pool was never crowded and easy to enjoy, especially with a toddler. The baby pool was a thoughtful and much-appreciated addition.

We also attended one of the resort’s special buffet celebration nights, which we highly recommend. The food was excellent, and the live entertainment—including fire dancers, music, and traditional performances—made for a memorable evening.

Overall, this was a relaxing, family-friendly trip!

We stayed in the deluxe bungalow overlooking the beach. It was quiet and perfect for our stay. Breakfast was varied with great options. There were so many pools to swim in but the beach was perfect with warm temperatures. I cannot fault the Moraceo it was perfect for couples solo travelers and families. Nicely spread out.

This hotel is a very nice resort hotel. Very big! You must know you will walk a whole lot in the hotel. I had a twisted ankle and had to use their free shuttle service a lot so that’s a huge plus. The food is great and staff is too. Would recommend to anyone that wants that resort vacation you won’t have to leave your hotel much from. Also Phang Na is a very calm town. If you’re looking to escape the crowds definitely book this hotel.

Room choice not to our liking. Near main road at top of hill and a little noisy. Evening dining options very limited, main restaurant unappealing. Resort somewhat crammed with different room types and lots of trees, so limited areas for sunbathing. Usual early morning flurry to reserve the best sunbeds, even though signs up saying not to. At the price point, we've stayed in better hotels around Khao Lak.

Our room was spacious and spotless. We booked a pool access room, it was lovely to be able to swim directly from our balcony. The resort is on a steep hill and access to the rooms is via steps so this resort may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. The grounds are immaculate and the beach is fabulous, probably the best stretch of the beach is right in front of the resort. The only negatives are the reserving of sunbeds. There are signs to say reserving of sunbeds is not permitted and towels will be removed. This does not deter people and the towels are not removed so if you like a lie in you will likely struggle to get a bed near the beach. Mosquitoes are quite a big problem. I got more bites in 4 hours than I did in 6 days in practically jungle accommodation prior to staying at Moracea. Plantpots full of stagnant water are a breeding ground for mosquitoes and you can see them in all stages of their growth. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Khao Lak is a strange resort. The shops and restaurants etc are either side of 6 lanes of traffic. There is a great night market not far away and 200 thbt will get you there from the hotel

We stayed in a beachfront bungalow. Amazing. We were made to feel special from the very beginning. Check-in was fast, and the room was spectacular. Big bathroom with big shower and bath. Nicely decorated and 20m from the water. Comfy bed, good food options or take a 100 Tuk tuk to town where there’s plenty of dining options.

I didn’t overly commit much more to food than breakfast but from what I experienced the breakfast service was brilliant. Plenty of options and the service was great.
Internet great, service all over the resort.
Quite hilly in areas which would pose a slight problem if less mobile but saying that I’m pretty sure the resort offers buggy service.
The resort itself is lovely, so natural with lots of trees, palms and greenery. Direct beach access, 4 pools to pick from. The rooms are really nicely decorated, very comfortable and adequately air conditioned. In terms of access to the main part of town, 10-15 minute walk and you arrive into one of the main parts of Khao Lak. Plenty of shopping and restaurants.
I would without hesitation stay here again. Thank you very much Moracea Resort.

Originally only going to stay 2 nights, but ended up staying 7 nights. Didn’t like the hills up and down, I think it’s around 33 hectares. Breakfast was ok could have had a lot more selection. Room was nice with mosquito nets to keep them out at night.

The Moracea Hotel is like no other in Khao lak,its set on a stunning beach with a beautiful collection of pools. Sensational resort, amazing beaches, felt small and quiet but was quite large. Close walk to small town with loads of eating options, near to a small jungle Hike to the most perfect small beach. Rooms great, staff great. The only small downside is the main restaurant, a few dining options would have been nice on an evening but a £4 tuk tuk takes you to some great eateries. I’d return in an heartbeat and I’ve been to Thailand a good few times and this is one of the best hotels you could stay in. Loads of lizards around, and water monitors, they leave you alone but all adds to the vibe

Ideal for quite holiday for couples who want to relax. Resort is very hilly so be mindfull if you have mobility issues. However hotel staff very helpful with sending a buggy to get uou ftom your accommodation to reception. We stayed in beach bungalow wich was easly walking to restaurant . Nice staff , the reception has a great team very nice and helpful .
I liked the location, it's not the best but also not bad, It's not to far from shops and a short ride to the market.
the room was big and convenient, very clean, there wasn't a bath but I liked the room very much and had a great view from it!
I liked the pools and spent most of my time in them.
I wish they had water sports like canoe or paddle boards or something like that but even though it was a great stay!
I think it's one of the best hotels in Khao Lak!

Resort is beautiful. Unfortunately some of the facilities were not open at the very end of low season. Receptionists were not very helpful when we wanted to book transfers. Housekeeping came very late in the day a couple of times which was inconvenient.

Great hotel with lovely staff. We were lucky enough to have a great deal on a pool villa, which was amazing and highly recommend. Beautiful view of beach. Great breakfast. Beautiful beach right on the doorstep. Only small negative was beach bars were never open when they were advertised to be. Found it difficult to buy drinks when we wanted. Lots of free water around. Great to walk to shops and restaurants. Staff wonderful.

First impression is not so good on services at reception. No one pay attention on me during waiting for the room. No Welcome drink or else when compare with another hotel next to them with lower star but full complementally supported to guests. The room and location is quite goooood, nice view and silence place. If need the private zone, please inform to hotel or booking the villa type, should be better than me. I selected the pool access but the next room is quite noisy even the after mid night. I can't sleep until 2 AM. due to my neighbor room still active and chatting. I'm not complained to hotel but need to sharing to the other travelers to aware on my concerns and experiences. Overall is good but need to improve the services if hotels declare as 5 stars hotel, please keep as is.

Always nice exploring around the hotel and it’s grounds though could have done with a few more signs to certain spots. But I guess that was part of the fun. Disappointing experience not recommended

The hotel and service were in many ways disappointing. Location and beach area are beautiful, the villas close to the beach seem nice.

We stayed in a pool access room, In one of the upper level blocks. We had to ask to be moved from first room as it smelt unpleasant - damp and of cooking. The wardrobe doors and doors between bedroom and bathroom were dirty - dirty fingerprints and blood on bathroom room. The 2Nd room was better however many of the upper blocks were in bad need of repair and maintenance with crumbling exterior plaster, rusty balconies and Peeling paintwork. The reception staff were sweet and welcoming however breakfast service staff and bar staff we met seemed disengaged, lacking in enthusiasm and not focussed on providing good quality of customer service. We stayed in 4 hotels in different locations in Thailand on our trip and have no complaints about any of the others I would not return and would suggest there are better hotels in Khao Lak.

Huge hotel that might be more suitable for families with kids and not couples..
The hotel is full of stairs and not comfortable to find your way around.
We got to the room and it was full of some weird smell they put which was terrible.
The bed is not a 5 star hotel bed! More as a 3.. both the bed was making noises and the mattress wasn't that comfortable.
For couples I can recommend Adult only hotels in the same area.
Oh yes and the breakfast was a war zone...
Hundreds of people running around trying to get food.. was very funny .
I will give this hotel 7.4, We think that with a cheaper price it could fit better.

Awesome resort. Perfect in every way. The service manager June deserves a special mention and commendation for his awesome service- our son celebrated his 3rd birthday whilst there and he came in on his day off to ensure complimentary birthday cake and celebration at breakfast was had! Brilliant setting, service and friendliness . excellent spa service s as well . One afternoon we had boxed some left over food from a restaurant in town and we requested reheating- the staff there turned the remaining food into a fried rice dish for us free of charge! Exemplary service! We'll be back! Thankyou moracea resort!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The location is 10 minutes out of the centre of town but plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s a very short walk and at no time did we feel unsafe.

We loved the 4 different pools and the hotel’s location (hotel is located on the beach) with sun lounges readily available. Drinks and food were tasty and delicious (particularly when consuming on your pool lounge). We had a fantastic stay and can’t wait to return again! Definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a clean and modern resort with the added bonus of peace and tranquility (the only sounds you can hear is the ocean and the birds chirping).

Along with others there are a lot of stairs so something to also consider. Also don’t forget your insect spray! Only recommendation is that staff wander around the pool lounges so orders can be placed/ finished drinks etc can be cleared.

This was our second stay at Moracea and it did not disappoint. Our room was super comfortable and spacious. Beach was never crowded. Selection of pools gave us variety for our 2-year-old. Beautiful property from the outside but in need of educated staff. Very hilly property with no on property shuttle for patrons though there is a courtesy shuttle that employee drives around at a fast speed. Pool closes at 1900(7 o'clock pm). though there are several restaurants plan on walking to town as hours are not what advertised and staff could care less. Bathroom sink drain not working. Bathtub would not hold water. would not be a good place for a honeymoon or an unhealthy person as the walking is strenuous. Price high compared to other places we stayed in Thailand that were comparable.Phone service instructions given though staff aware that service not available in room.

A few quiet golf carts from perfection!

A fabulous place with perhaps the best beach location in the area and it’s a big, beautiful beach area. The living quarters are gorgeous and nestled among hilly foliage with pool and ocean views. Some just steps from beach where you can hear the ocean all night. The on site restaurant is a couple’s dream as it sits right on the water’s edge. The staff is generally delightful. The only downsides: There’s barely enough pool or beach chairs for the everyone so every morning is an illegal rush to place a towel on two together hours before many even use them. Also, the place uses vehicles and motorbikes to trek customers and staff up and down and all around the resort. They rely too often of puttering or revving motorbikes with carriages so at night from the room or while in the beach, you have that racket periodically to put up with. But overall, it’s not a major problem given how lovely the whole of the place is.

We returned for the 2nd year in a row and were deeply disappointed.

We booked the same type of room as last year but the room we were put it was a massive drop in quality. It was tiny compared to last year and our ‘private balcony’ was next to reception. It’s hardly private when the whole of reception can see your balcony.

The hotel was completely full - or so we were told, so we couldn’t move rooms. This also meant the staff were overworked and seriously miserable. Even since being back home, the customer service hasn’t improved over email. The staff are very rude.

The food was poor, again. You’re far better off eating outside the hotel in the local restaurants. It’s also a lot cheaper.

The only positive is that we won’t be returning again. Next time we’re in Khao Lak we’ll try a new hotel.

Great place to stay! It is a little further away from the strip with all the shops and restaurants but it’s a easy walk or quick taxi ride. The resort and staff were great. Although it didn’t bother us too much the only complaint is the selfish guests reserving pool and beach beds with their belongings when they are not even using it. Sometimes the same guest claiming the beds at both pool and beach. The resort has signs saying it is not allowed but it is not enforced by staff which is disappointing. I’d recommend getting a room with direct access to the pool like we had, which has private sun beds on the balcony.

Great hotel, beautiful pools, amazing view, overall it was a great vacation, however we didn't like the fact the the bathroom wasn't feeling private enough, there are two rolling doors that don't completely shut and there is a gap left and the doors are also 'frosted' so you can see through ... for 3 people in the room it was rather uncomfortable... also keep in mind that there are many stairs and hills in the resort-so it may be hard for for elderly....

Very Disappointing

This is the second time we have stayed, last time being in 2016. We were given a bure on the beach which was very nice but when you are staying 10 days it would be nice to have some cupboard/shelving space to unpack you clothes. No storage in the bathroom either and the doors to shower are in full view of the upper rooms so makes it hard to dress in the bathroom. The bathroom had a beautiful round bath BUT it was unable to be filled as the lever was broken, no power point in the bathroom for a shaver or hair drier to be in front of the mirror.
The breakfast was limited with less variety than before, no pastries, Muesli, or decent jam (just pineapple and marmalade) no bread rolls but a noodle bar.....who has noodles for breakfast???? There was not good quality food at the buffet breakfast, quantity yes BUT quality ZERO.......The lunches were just as bad, ordered a pizza and it on a processed base and tasteless, ordered a Caesar Salad no egg or anchovies as noted on the menu lets say we ended up have many lunches and dinners in town.
Cocktails at happy hour were very diluted and again disappointing. Was really looking forward to our stay but very disappointed with overall stay. Staff were friendly but there was a lot of construction work going on which again had one bar closed. Would not stay here again or recommend.

Outstanding location. Disappointed with original Zeavola Beachfront Deluxe room.Limited storage, airconditioner struggled to cool room. Bathroom - was shocking. Lighting useless. privacy severely compromised, no power points, no storage.Outside shower also numerous faults. However upgraded to Pool Villa and could not fault. Can it praise this room enough. Well worth extra cost .

Short break during the rainning season

The overall experience was good. Some areas worth looking for improvement are:
The towels at the swiming pools were scarce and had an odd chedule where customers could pick the towels from thd towel stations.

Long qeues at breakfast, particularly in rainny days.

The water of 2 of the swiming pools (the narrow long ones near the beach) was not clear during our stay.

The location is nice and the beach is long and allows for pleasant walks.

Recommend the Zevola Deluxe Bungalow. Right on the long pool and a stone's throw from the beach. Great to see and hear the waves. Breakfast is extensive.
I'm not sure what people normally eat fro breakfast if you are not happy with the selection. Cereals, toast, croissants, cheese, cold meats, warm Thai section, fresh asian/Japanese section, eggs any way you want them, bacon, waffles or pancakes, fresh fruit, several yoghurts, good tea and coffee,
Staff are efficient and friendly. Room service is fast and good even when there's a monsoonal downpour.
Very happy with absolutely no complaints.

Nice hotel close to Beach and town

Nothing to complain about everything was fine, breakfast was good lots of choices, the room was excellent we stayed in a hibiscus delux room, the only thing is there are lots of stairs which was not a problem for us, however if you're a person with reduced mobility this could make things a bit harder.

Although prepaid and booked more than 2 months in advance, they had double booked our room and lost my friends reservation. We had to downgrade our first night but were upgraded for subsequent nights. Our rooms were not close by as requested. Changing rooms on short break was a nuisance and upgrade ok but not worth hassle. Check in supervisor did not handle issue well. Otherwise resort was lovely, lots is steps and close to town. Badly bitten by mosquitoes on last 2 nights in room which was subsequently sprayed although perhaps this should be done regularly as preventative measure.

Ahh a great place to STOP

What a wonderful resort. We trully enjoyed. Our little bungalow. Clean neat and quiet. The morning breakfast was awsome and lots of choices. The pools were wonderful and clean. I think the position on the beach was the best from the other resorts. We did not use the spa, to expensive we chose to walk into town. Centerally located to everytho g..walking to meals, spas massage and shopping. We did rent a car in Perth for our holiday .we were so glad we did. Drivi g was eazy.

Had an amazing time! Loved that we had a pool just off the patio of our room. The food was very good. Loved the fresh pina colada! The beach was nice to walk on in the morning before breakfast. The breakfast buffet was very good! It was a great place for us to wind after our three day scuba adventure.

Lovely peaceful hotel

The Moracea hotel is beautiful. The setting right on the beach with the natural national forest in the background is stunning. The hotel has lovely gardens and the environment is very peaceful and relaxing. Worth mentioning the beach is clean and there are no jet ski’s allowed - a really peaceful environment. The hotel is located a short distance from Khao Lak but taxis are available at the entrance and are relatively cheap, it is also possible walk along the beach to Khao Lak as well.

The bungalow was very spacious, well-equipped and really clean/well maintained – the staff really go out of their way to help. The bed was really big and very comfortable and the bed linen was changed regularly.

The staff are really lovely, they are very polite, friendly and helpful - we asked for more water bottles and these were delivered within an hour of our request and daily thereafter. Breakfast was buffet style with an excellent variety of dishes including Asian and Western dishes.

Worth mentioning the Moracea is at the top of a steep hill so can be challenging for anyone with disabilities and the elderly. We used the hotel transfer facility for our trip from the airport but found this to be expensive - for our airport return we found a much cheaper operator on the Internet.

Nice resort with beautiful beaches

Thank you, Morecea for my nice relaxing holiday. Room is comfortable and clean. May be not as high standard as some Turkish resort, but have its own character. Staff were very friendly and co-operative. Airport transfer more expensive then other taxi company, so you have choice to book your own transfer. Location is good, 10 min work to shops, and couple nice cafes across the road. 5 min walk left along the beach to massage and another nice cafe spot. And breakfast is good.

Beautiful hotel on the beach

I went here towards of the beginning of my honeymoon for 2 nights. When we first arrived, we were mesmerized by the breathtaking view of the ocean. We ate lunch at the beach bar and had a table that overlooked the ocean. It was wonderful. The pools were really nice. We didn't stay at the hotel for that long, but if we did, I would've definitely enjoyed more pool days. The food at the breakfast buffet was actually the best we had on our whole trip in Thailand. The variety was awesome and they always had Thai dishes, which was really nice. The fruit was good, too. It was very slow-paced in Khao Lak, which was nice, and a lot of couples. We also noticed there were a fair amount of older people. So, we were happy to go to a different region of Thailand after we left, but we really did appreciate the slow-pace of this place, especially after just coming from Bangkok. I loved the beach and the pool & the food, and would recommend it.

Overpriced and not as expected

We saved this resort for our last 4 days in Thailand as our luxury relaxation retreat on the beach. The beach setting was lovely and we stayed in a beautiful bungalow which was very spacious and beautifully presented.

HOWEVER, although we faced the beach which was only metres away, we were separated from it by a thoroughfare, two rows of sun beds and some low hedging. It wasn't the secluded idyll we expected, and felt like we could be in any hotel in Benidorm or the like. Each morning, guests put their towels on the sun beds and then disappeared often for hours on end, and consequently there weren't enough beds to go round. The hotel has a policy whereby if sun beds are vacated for more then 30 minutes towels will be taken off, but this wasn't put into practice.

Having paid £265 per night (including taxes), we expected a lot more than this. I'm afraid it was a VERY expensive disappointment.

Great location on beach - very well landscaped

Enjoyed the choice of pools and bars. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful. The grand delux hibiscus rooms are beautiful and we had such great views. The Moracea is on a lovely beach and is close to beach bars and local restaurants. Enjoyed our stay immensely!

Cosy resort at the southern end of Khao Lak Area

Moracea sits at the southern most part among the bigger resorts. It is still only a 15 minutes walk to Khao Lak Centre, so still very convenient. There are taxis station at the hotel for a 2 minutes ride to the centre if one prefers not to walk.

Hotel rooms are nicely decorated and well maintained. Our family of 4 had 2 connecting rooms - king and twin beds.

The only downside was breakfast - most of the hot items are not kept warm enough. So we just go for the freshly cooked eggs.

Beaitufl location and great facilities - relaxing

This resort has wonderful facilities and location for a very relaxed stay. Room are specious and well equipped, A bit weird about bathroom glass walls - not sure what the point is when sitting on a toilet. Don'tknow if all rooms have that or only in our bulding.

Located on an escarpment overlooking the sea, you need to get used to some up and down walking unless you get one of the bungalows right on the beach but this affords a wonderful view for most rooms. Lovely priate beach without crowds, can walk to beach side massage or other resorts.

Free breakfast with well stocked buffet style. Good food at the hotel restaurants with wonderful seating overlooking the beach or sea views. And actually very good mixed coctails.

Need to walk to nearest town (about a kilometer) or take taxis to nearby attractions like the various wantefalls, the tsunami museum, or the elephant bathing places.

Modern beach hotel.

Had a good stay here. Everything was in good order and it was well looked after. Good breakfast, comfortable bed in a large room. Towels & bedding were good quality too. We stayed in a beach front chalet which was very convenient.
Lots of swimming pools, the main one being in a lovely tree lined area.

Quiet place in August with perfect beach&service

The 1 week stay in the Moracea was intended to be a cool downer after 2 weeks of excursions and sightseeing. We arrived at an impressive see view reception and have left a week later with an impressive feeling of relaxation.
An initial complaint about some incomplete cleaning in the bathroom was immediately worked upon and since then ther was no further need for complaint.
We lived in a bungalow next to the pool and the only \"noise\" we heard was the sea. It may be different during the high season but all other guests were quiet and avoided noise.
We had an excellent breakfast buffet, very nice dishes for lunch and dinner and enjoyed the walking distance to Khao Lak for alternatives in eating.
As always in Thailand a stunning exprience of friendly and warm hearted people in a beautiful surrounding.

This was an amazing resort. We were a party of 6. I traveled with my partner and 2 friends and my parents met us here from Ireland. It had amazing beach access, the pools were fantastic with bars and they had a great offering for Breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My father has issues with his knee but the had a shuttle and drove him around which he loved. Thanks for a great stay we would highly recommend this resort

We stayed at the Moracea for two weeks in one of the Hibiscus Deluxe rooms. The hotel was in a great location with a fabulous beach and lovely lush grounds. The room was spacious with a great sized bathroom and a view of the pool and the sea. The buffet breakfast was excellent with lots of choice although the dining experience in the restaurant in the evening did not meet our expectations for a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately it lacked atmosphere and staff were preparing for the next day, removing table settings etc well before the dinner service was due to finish. We were also asked if we had discount vouchers that were apparently available in town, which we were not impressed with when we were guests staying in the hotel for two weeks.

Another lovely sta9 at the Moracea

This has been our second stay at the Moracea, and once again,we have had a great holiday. The location is perfect for us, far enough away from the main town but close enough to walk to local restaurants. We stay in an Allamanda Villa which gives us the privacy we like. Beautiful beach, surrounded by greenery, cant ask for more. Be mindful though, Moracea is built on a hillside, so there are a lot of stairs, which is great for working off those holiday kilos!
