The hotel is lovely. Staff excellent . Room was great and bed very comfortable. It did feel a bit crammed in. However, what really let it down was the food. This was the fourth hotel on our six hotels during our five week stay. Also our most expensive. We had the Buffett one night and it was really poor. Plenty of places to eat outside the hotel and I would make the effort to walk outside.

Was pleasantly surprised at how nice Sentido Resort is. Stayed in a delux bungalow. Bed was comfy, shower and bath amazing.
Lots of pools to choose from with a swim up bar at one.
Staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Tu the security gaurd :)

Santido located in a very unique location of Khao Lak. The rooms are spacious and clean. Food and beverage options are satisfactory however hotel bars closing hours could be extended a bit later then 11 pm. Hotel staff were very pleasent and helpful. The only negative point is all 5 of the hotel pools depth is around 120 cms. At least 1 or 2 of those pools could be deeper for swimmers and offering the option to the hotel guest. Overall we can recommend Sentido to all future holiday makers.

Sentido is a good property,a bit bigger for our preference but there are not too many good and small hotels available in the area.We spent one week during mid february 2025 and it would be more pleasant if it hadn't been for our fellow guests that behaved without caring others.Most of them come from Northern Europe at a point that there are some "starndkorbs" (a kind of sunbed used in the Baltic sea) exhibited,and some information brochures at the room are only in German,may be to let them fell like been at home.We couldn't use our balcony during the whole stay due to the fact that all our neighbors continuously smoked in a vicious way ; also one day the management had to send a general notice regarding the prohibition to take and then leave the sunbeds unattended at the beach during early mornings. .Our room located at the mountain side was ample and well appointed,the breakfast was not amazing but still good and for lunch and dinner there are much better options outside at walking distance. The very few wine options at a restaurant precisely named Enoteca is a joke.Good gym,The hotel location is convenient between the town and next to the national park. Finally,although this is not the hotel fault, they must be more careful on choosing the third party transfers to the airport since ours did not have air conditioner which is very important to us.All in all we think that will be back.

The hotel is situated on the edge of the main road that serves the main restaurant and shopping areas. Taxis are available nearby if you want to go further afield, restaurants and shops are in walking distance from hotel. The immediate Hotel beach is a small area that has a limited number of bed loungers tightly positioned together. Not the most comfortable set up! Hotel policy states that guests should not reserve these beds but unfortunately the policy is not enforced leading to guests unfairly claiming beds then wondering off to breakfast. There are other beds behind the beachfront but these were also claimed most days by selfish people!
The staff at hotel are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is well maintained and kept clean. There are a number of swimming pools with beds which were mostly quiet areas.
The breakfast options were very good with a large selection of breads, european and Thai foods.
Good games room for the kids with Pool and table tennis and darts. There is also a guest book library.
Cannot comment on restaurants as we prefer to eat out so never used them on site.
The hotel is well run with friendly helpful staff. Our room overlooking the beach and seafront was excellent. We enjoyed our stay. However with the small hotel beach area and the lack of enforcing the do not reserve beds rule we wouldnt return to the hotel in future.
I would give the hotel 8 out of 10....

Khao Lak is stunning, very relaxing coastal town. This resort is nice but nothing to write home about. The rooms and facilities are aging and the food is pretty average at the on-site restaurants. The staff are wonderful though, and it’s a nice slow paced relaxing resort.

It was a lovely resort. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They all went out of way to make stay enjoyable. Lovely beach for sunset views. Pools were warm and spacious. Food expensive compared to local prices as were the drinks. Cocktails were not great and were pricey. Wi-Fi dropped out regularly. It was easy to walk to a wide range of places to eat so would recommend bed and breakfast at the resort.

The property and staff are fantastic. This is an adult only property and when we went there, it seemed like the majority of the guests were 65 and over. Mostly people from Europe when we stayed there. This is a property if you want peace and relaxation without a lot of noise. If you would like a younger crowd, this property might not be your choice.

We had a wonderful stay here! We were upgraded to an oceanfront room that was fabulous! The room had a wonderful patio with table chairs, two lounge chairs with umbrella and literally steps to the beautiful uncrowded sandy warm water beach! The property is beautifully landscaped and clean. The pools are wonderful. The staff is friendly. The food was great, offering both local Thai food as well as many other options. Very peaceful and relaxing! Wonderful place!

The best qualities of this resort are its staff. Attentive, professional and engaging staff who did their utmost to practice their English and ensure their customers were content. Rooms were very clean and welcoming with daily servicing. The clientele were mainly Europeans. The breakfast buffet was a highlight on arrival and we were spoilt with an upgrade to a spacious beach bungalow for our wedding anniversary. Few steps to negotiate for older clients. Lovely sandy beach and fitness options in hotel and pool aerobics daily. 4 pools all beautifully maintained. A well organised transport/taxi service to take you to the many surrounding markets, waterfalls, beaches and National parks. We will definitely be back!

We had a grand deluxe room in the mountain wing. The room was very nicely fitted out, clean and comfortable. Ensuit had all you needed and a lovely shower. Our balcony looked out to see through the tree line and was private and quiet. Breakfast was what you would expect with a variety of food options. From 7am to 10am we tried all times but never found a quiet time. The hotels location is a short walk to all the shops and eateries which is handy. However although nothing tangeable the grounds, pools and beach were not for us. It all seemed a little tight. So we used our room had breakfast then headed out on a sooter everyday. That we really enjoyed.

Beautiful location- fab hotel right on the beach - had a room quite high up, which was lovely, but paid extra for a beach bungalow which was well worth the extra. Staff super friendly - perfect location - had a hire car and went to different beaches, including White Sands, but they weren’t as nice as the beach at this hotel. Could walk for miles up the coast. Would consider coming here again. Top marks for this hotel .

We have stayed in 4 hotels in Khao Lak and for us the Sensimar was the best. It was clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious with good storage and a full sized fridge. The shower and toilet were separate. The bed was huge and pretty comfortable. The a/c was brilliant.
We went for half board as the deal was so good through hotels.com. The food was amazing. A great variety of foods for all tastes.
The staff never stop smiling. They take a real interest in the guests.
I would recommend this hotel.

I have booked this hotel because it offered airport suttle. However when I landed I found out that there was a charge to get the suttle service. I ended up spending extra $100 on transportation between airport and hotel and back. Felted cheated but had no choice but had to spend the $ to get there.

Good, lacking a little polish

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained and the location is good, a short walk into town. The only let down for me was the room, the beds weren't very comfortable and the air con unit is right above the bed, I don't like freezing cold air blowing on me while I sleep, and the room got too stuffy if it wasn't on.

We had a room in the mountain wing and it was a nice view, the doors to these rooms are impossible to close quietly, so the sound of doors slamming all the time gets annoying. would be good if management put soft close hinges on these to improve peacefulness.

Would also be good if housekeeping staff were told to be a little quieter when moving around the corridors, they tend to yell to each other and have loud conversations which echo, sounds like they are arguing but it is really just chatter.

We were pleasantly surprised with Khao Lak & with Sensimar. If you want a quiet place where you could just let your mind wonder & appreciate life away from the hustle & bustle of daily routine, Khao Lak is the ideal spot. A small town with few shops & very little night life. And Sensimar Khao Lak is the right hotel. Being adult only, with modern facilities, very warm & welcoming staff, we were treated to quietness, kindness, cleanliness & good amenities. Some people go on holidays expecting perfection (not possible) & so their expectations are never met even if the hotel or location tried very hard. However, if you are looking for a peaceful holiday, willing to put up with very minor inconveniences, like the English not perfectly spoken or some minor hiccups in the facilities or service, but you want peace, laughter, warmth, support, sensible prices & good food, then the Sensimar is for you. The hotel is located at the beginning of the town strip, and is about 10 minutes walk to Khao Lak town centre, where a good selection of eateries, supermarkets, souvenir shops, money changers & small bars are. The town is welcoming & there is still an innocence about Khao Lak that Phuket, Koh Samui & other like holiday spots have lost. Definitely not a place filled with vendors & thriving night life. Try the Sun Star Siam Restaurant just directly across the hotel for good outside food. And a must is the ACOUSTIC Bar which has great live (superb guitar) music and run by a friendly family.

Beautiful Setting

It was a very special anniversary for us and these lovely people went over and above to make it a most memorable stay from the time we arrived. Close to town where you can walk, or they have shared transportation which came in handy on occasion. We went to a few reviewed "most beautiful beaches", but honestly the one at Sensimar was even nicer. Has to be the best beach in the area. The most beautiful clear water, soft velvet sand along with lots of shade trees which made it very pleasant. I was able to do some snorkeling there, which was a nice surprise. Had lunch and one dinner and found the food to be very good and reasonable in case you don't feel like leaving the hotel. Good breakfast as well. Can't wait to return!

Very pleased with my first time experience in Khaolak. I would go back and stay at the same hotel.
I was impressed with the beach areas around the hotel. Great for walks, pictures and swimming.
There were not many people at the resort (visited April 2018) which I liked and also no children. I liked that. Although I cannot say what it would be like in high season.

We loved everything about our stay here. We started with a beautiful welcoming for our anniversary. Thank you Jennifer. Ideal location right in the beach. We loved the rocky area that others have not spoken about positively. Swimming here was great. Staff were awesome, gardens beautiful, breakfast eating area stunning and the food selection was great. rooms were lovely as were the pool areas. Thanks to kukai on tour desk who went above and beyond assisting us renting a car. Fabulous selection of cheap, lovely, great food and cocktails right out the front. walking distance the town and short ride to great night markets, I preferred build market. We loved it here and much better value than Phuket.

We felt the hotel catered for all of needs, environment, location, surroundings, atmosphere. The hotel had everything you require for a relaxing vacation. The Main Street is only a five minute walk to restaurants and shops in the evening so you don’t feel isolated in your hotel. The rooms were spacious albeit the grand deluxe is up a mountain. The cheaper rooms are ground level and located by the pool. If I was to return I would choose the latter. All in all a great vacation 😎

Stayed here for 3 nights Dec 2017 in a Grand Deluxe room. Very nice, quiet, Adults Only hotel. This and the hotels either side of it are on the nicest bit of this stretch of beach. Rooms are at different levels so some require walking up/downhill. The pool facing rooms are at ground level. There are a couple of very nice pools. Our room was about 50 stairs up, but easily manageable and also meant we had a nice view of the beach. Room was a good size with good air con. We ate at the hotel two nights, once at the beachside cafe type restaurant which was very nice and once at the main beachfront restaurant for the Seafood Buffet night which was amazing. It's only a short walk along the road to many other restaurants/shopping. It seems this hotel suits older guests who like quiet. There are lots of lounges dotted along the beach, and the hotel actively discourages people from 'saving' them early in the morning which is good.

Loved the atmosphere at this hotel because it was so peaceful all the time. The staff were always very helpful and the spa was fantastic. The eating options were good but the room service options were a bit limited. The deluxe pool room suite was perfect because it was great to be able to access the pool and sun bathe from the comfort of your room. The location right by the water was also fantastic and I can't wait to go back!

Had a great stay at hotel people were friendly ,location great and very peaceful the only issue we had was after a long flight and travel we had the hotel induction on arrival which was great and very informative and when we paid we was advised to pay GBP which we did but it codt £100 more than price on expedia, we booked a room for our son for a few nights and paid THB and it was same price . We felt that because we were tired we were taken advantage of of or it was lack of staff knowledge .Apart from that we had a great time

We loved this resort. Our room had everything we needed and was very spacious,but if I wanted to be picky it was hard to see with the lighting available and a ceiling fan would have been handy for night instead of leaving air con on which blew on us while in our bed. The pools were beautiful, location on beach lovely. We had sunset dinner in their restaurant and buffet breakfast everyday and it was plentiful, delicious and good variety. Beautiful to dine there on beach. They were very helpful at reception and even let us use the facilities eg. pools etc including shower and toilets, providing towels for us, after checkout till our pickup for airport arrived. There was a lovely welcome as well with cold towels, drinks and information from the hotel manager. Everything was kept very clean. Its only a short walk to town or to restaurants. We had a balcony room overlooking pool area and there were lifts down to ground level and short walk to pools and breakfast. You wont be disappointed if you stay here.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Adult only Sensimar Hotel. The room was clean & the towels were changed every other day. The breakfast was delicious.
The staff are all friendly & always willing to help. Swimming pools cleaned every day. Location of the hotel is great. They are many restaurants nearby, all within walking distance.

Sensimar is a wonderful resort with the most fantastic staff, we have been to Thailand 7 times and this was one of the best resorts we have stayed in, we had our 75 year old mother with us and the staff were so respectful and considerate of her, helping her to sit down, constantly checking if we were ok etc. The food and beverages here were top notch, couldn't fault their service in any of the restaurants and the Spa was fantastic too. The rooms were gorgeous and cleaned to the highest standard every day. We are going to return here for sure!!

A reason I picked this resort was to use their windsurfers but upon asking about the use of a windsurfer.I was told they are not available perhaps because it is low season and high waves.
However it was nice to share yoga with Benjie and to attend his classes...Wonderful personality and an excellent addition to any resort...

I was injured in a bike accident on my last night and the care of the staff cannot be praised highly enough. I was taken to the nearest hospital where they waited till tests were performed and then escorted back to the resort. I felt safe and cared for during this stressful time.

An excellent beachfront resort.

We have recently spent a week at The Sensimar Resort and absolutely loved it.
It has the best breakfast we have ever been offered in Thailand and the service was great.
The pools are excellent and very clean.
It rained a lot while we were there but it was still great with a seaview and big balcony and excellent TV.
They also have an extensive library.

Nice hotel. Unfortunately rainy season so didn't get to experience the beauty of the area. Rooms good size however insufficient lighting. As it rained consistently for 10 days not much to do...thus lots of reading. Had to sit in bed to read because of bad lighting...not the most comfortable!!! Was not impressed with food...breakfast very average, nothing was hot unless you ordered omelette. Coffee always cold. Had snack at beach bar, chicken satay & spring rolls not good! Overall bit of walk up road to plenty other restaurants which had great food. Highly recommend Smile Restaurant, great food & staff, also Gold Elephant & Mojos.
As hotel is at beginning of strip if you want to go markets etc you need to take taxi otherwise long walk. Taxis overpriced in my opinion 300 baht even in back of tuk tuk. Adds up if you like to go out & about. If happy to stay in hotel then this is fine but if you like to get around I would look elsewhere.

Everything would be nice, if not horrible position of air-conditioner in our room. We both got flu after first night. We were trying to change the position of our beds and aircon settings, but it didn't work . Last two nights I slept in the bathroom on the floor....

Sensimar so relaxing

Fantastic hotel from the moment you arrive. Check in was perfect and efficient. Reception made a special effort to get us in our chosen room very quickly. All the reception staff are very professional and always have a friendly smile and help with everything. The rooms are beautiful and clean with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The beach is the most peaceful and relaxing spot I have ever known and again all the staff are fantastic. Food and beverage are exceptional and very good prices. I can't praise this hotel enough and I have to recommend it really is a 5 star experience. Thank you Sensimar Khao lak.

Very close to lovely inexpensive restaurants.

Very friendly staff. Yes sunbeds do get occupied very early by our German friends but the staff do go round and remove towels if no one is on them. This is usually done around 8:45. We did find enough beds around the big pool however. We have stayed here 2 years in succession and would highly recommend this hotel

This hotel is in the perfect location right at the start of the cafe and shopping area. When we arrived we were checked in quickly had a nice welcome drink and taken straight to our room, really appreciated the champagne and cake and free WiFi in our room. Staff are there best asset always smiling and very friendly. The hotel offers plenty of free activities Pilates yoga water aerobics wine tasting and cooking courses. Anyone wanting to watch AFl games there is Walkers Inn a 5 minute walk that has about 5 TV,s showing most sports

Stayed for 7 nights in large Grand deluxe room in the upper wing. No WiFi in rooms unless you wanted to pay for it. Also lighting could be better in rooms at night. Excellent bathroom and hotel kept clean.

Complementary water every day,, coffee and teas also a very large fridge 'freezer in room

Food was very good and plenty of choice especially at breakfast.

Large swimming pools and beautiful gardens leading onto beach

Hotel was clean, nice helpful staff and the amenities very good
Breakfast buffet was fantastic every day, some cutbacks visible from previous stays however, chicken satay tiny portion now, only liquid soap in rooms, few other cuts too.
The only gripe I really have is sun bed situation, the beach and pool areas by 8-15 am are all taken and then at 9-30 everybody dashes to the breakfast as that's the cut off time for starting to reserve beds.... So if you don't sit on a sun bed by then the won't get one, shame but I will now go elsewhere

Very nice hotel but not for young people

Hotel installations are excellent, room is super spacious, very clean, new with big Samsung TV, really nice shower and bath as well. Swimming pools are great, lots of them and very clean, they have quite a lot activities like volleyball, aquagym, etc, the bar at the beach is really nice and location is great, just a short walk from many stores and restaurants.

Only a few details, you need to pay for WIFI at your room as it is free only at the lobby or the beach bar :( and second point, 90% of the guests when we were there were retired people from Germany and Belgium, so don't expect a very young atmosphere there, we are in our 30s and looked for relax, but that was too much relax. Also you need to get up very early if you want to get a deck chair, they are all reserved at 8am.

The hotel was clean, but a little shabby in places! The pool areas are good, but found the staff not that interested in guest( except a few). Good location able to walk into town, with excellent restaurants (golden elephant being the best), and quite a few bars. The food however in the hotel was excellent.

Very nice hotel by the beach

Excellent hotel located on the beach. Staff always willing to help and nothing too much trouble. Anika the customer relations manager was always on hand and even found me at breakfast to wish me a happy birthday. When we got back to the room there was a birthday cake and some bubbling for us - making the day special for me.

Room very well equipped - even provided with umbrellas!

We were there in the low season when the hotel was no where near full but would imagine the restaurant areas might get a bit congested in the high season.

Would definitely stay here again. The staff greet you with a wet towel and a cold drink in the lobby while checking you in.
The breakfast selection is excellent and staff are quick to refill your coffee cup. The pools are beautiful, as is the beach right in front of the hotel.

A great place to relax and enjoy the environment.

Spent eight days at this delightful hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel is well looked after with a range of beautiful pools, good gym, spacious rooms and instant access to the beach. As we were there before the main season started it was quite quiet which meant we often had the pool to ourselves and no waiting to be served at the bar etc. Excellent value and a great place to stay if you want to relax and pamper yourself.

Wonderful time

We stayed at Sensimar in a bungalow for a week in July. It was a fantastic, relaxing holiday. The beach and pool's are lovely and nice & quiet this time of year. Staff very professional and friendly. Happy was great too :D

Khao Lak town has a lot of great Thai restaurants for a low key night out, just a short walk from the hotel.

We will be back again.

This is our third stay at the Sensimar.
We enjoy this wonderful hotel for the friendly service, beautiful grounds (keep a look out for Johnny who keeps the grounds in a pristine condition - including the beach which he sweeps three or four times a day!
The lady who cleaned our room did a wonderful job, and always had a friendly word and big smile.
Breakfast has a great choice of hot and cold dishes and the cocktails at the Beach Bar are very enjoyable.
A big plus is the over 18 policy which makes for a very relaxing and tranquil holiday.

Plenty to like in this child-free beach resort

Khao Lak is a much better option for travellers who would like a little more of the old Thailand, where the locals are laid back and friendly, and the town is still a little rough around the edges. It is especially poignant that this is where the 2004 boxing day tsunami hit Thailand the hardest, and the formal and informal memorials are worth visiting. Sensimar resort offers very good facilities in a fine location tucked away in a very attractive corner of Khao Lak, right on the beach. From our bungalow, the sand was just 20 metres from the front door. Everyone, from ground staff to management, were friendly and helpful. Anika, the Guest Relations Manager, was very engaging and visible in the resort operations, and it was great to see both she and the Resort Manager, Ciaran McNeill, meeting for breakfast each morning in the main restaurant. The breakfasts were really good, and the dining options were quite reasonable. In any case, there are other options close by and we were able to have some fine dining experiences elsewhere during our stay. The wait staff were delightful, though a little eager at times to clear away the plates. Our beachside bungalow was very spacious and comfortable, if a little spartan, which just a touch more interior furnishing could rectify. The resort was quiet and unhurried, but we could get what we wanted, when we wanted it, without much delay. We had a most relaxing and enjoyable break at Sensimar, and would be very, very happy to return.

The resort is well located on a nice stretch of beach. The rooms are spacious and very clean unfortunately they do not use mattresses only a 50mm futon on a spring base and there are no alternatives only what we were offered, a doubled over doona. So if you have a delicate body that requires softer comfort give this place a miss.
The grounds and pool area are well laid out and very pleasant, buffet breakfast was well presented and quite adequate well worth booking with your accommodation. Dont miss Steve and Nancy at the coconut bar 200mts up the beach the high point of our stay. Great music and great food.
The resort shuttle charge of 1400bt is reasonable as it is about 1.5 hrs from the airport so use the toilets at the airport before setting off there is no place you want to stop on the way. Ask for Mr Baw as driver he is charming and a very good driver
Khaolak is a fair way from most of the tourist trips so be prepared for long expensive taxi rides. Markets are not as big as Patong. Over all Khaolak is best suited for just laying back and it helps if you speak German as that is what most of the guests are.
If you are allergic to pines take care the pool and beach is surrounded.

Overall an excellent hotel choice in Khao Lak

Very quite and no children seen here. Everything was in tip top condition. Enjoyed mixing it with the resident reptiles and amphibians (don't worry all good).
