Overall was ok except that the condition of the furnishing was run down . And the toilet shower the drainage cover was broken. Just concern for any pest or unwanted creatures that can crawl through the piping and entered through the broken hole drainage cover which made my sleep not peaceful.

The Hotel Manager ( on duty ) is not very professional.
1. One of The Hotel’s restaurant “Nan Xiang“ is charging my credit card, despite I have made cancellation within 3 minutes I have placed an order. ( I never received any food from them ).
2.The Hotel charging my credit card ( un-authorized ) for something that I didn’t get any explanation what’s that charged for nor I have not sign anything.

Room cleanliness and review on room service menu

1) On the 1st day of check in, after i entered my room (They up-graded my room due to unavailable of the room i booked) just before i was about to put down my lap-top, i realize the working table was oily. Then i turned to the coffee table and truth, it was oily too. I cleaned up myself.
2) For 3 nights, i ordered room service. 02 Nasi Goreng Sultan Special and 01 Nasi Goreng Kampung. On the menu, it stated that both dish comes with shrimp. But disappointed. NOPE, they said there isn't any shrimp in it after i called them up.
There's few more but i think let's get these point fix first.
Ensure the room is really clean up before guest enter or check in. Please review your menu.

The Sultan Hotel is a conference center.

I have stayed at The Sultan Hotel for many years and generally enjoyed my stays. However, when a major conference is ongoing, the peace and quite in the hotel is gone and it negatively affects other quests. I suggest that single quests or families should enquire beforehand if a large function or conference is planned before making a booking.

It was a terrible stay not because of the hotel facilities and staff. They were absolutely fantastic. But because it is right next to the stadium venue, they blasted music at 645 am in the morning and the windows shook and woke everyone in the hotel up. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here unless you know there is no events at the time you stay here. The music went on all the way till even now at 11 am

Nice Indonesian hotel

I stayed only one night at the hotel and it was a nice one. Great breakfast with many options of Indonesian foods. The hotel is very clean and has friendly staffs. I was there for an event that happened at the hotel so it was very convenient but you can’t go anywhere outside the hotel without a car/taxi.

Comfortable and in good location for my needs. Breakfast could have been less hectic and crowded, you go to the buffet and someone’s taken your seat, and buffet could have been a bit more western ie no pork sausage or bacon.

Property is very large, but showing its age. Was probably top property in all Jakarta back in 1980. Key feature is that it's connect to the convention centre.

The property is very old. The carpet have stains. The thing that grossed me out was the towels. It was greyish (the old white towel that turned grey). I am very disappointed with the room and how it was maintained.

Nevertheless, the staffs were amazing. They were very helpful and courteous. I think it was the only saving grace for the hotel.

Rusty and old room, long queue to enter the restaurant for morning buffet, waiting very very very long for elevator as well. The greatest thing about this hotel is only the people, they are very accommodating and sincere. The worst is the building: worst soundproofing, old elevators, etc. I stayed in Garden Tower, maybe Lagoon Tower is better (maybe)...

My roon was located at 16th floor. Nice view of the city. No proper signage leading to the tower n hve to do self venture n find way to the tower n room. There were three lift, 2 for guest n 1 for housekeeping. No signs showing the lift was for housekeeping. Creeping feeling as wrongly used the housekeeping lift n the lift door opens another side. Stopped at 3 different floors, opens to small area for keeping iron boatd n other stuff. Finally went back to 16th floor n changed lift. Managed to find my way to lobby.

It was a nice area with nice amenities and the room was spacious. The view of Jakarta from the hotel was very nice and I wish I had time to enjoy the pool. The breakfast buffet is amazing with lots of local and global food choices.

My room had these tiny ants near the bar and desk area, but since i was only staying for a day, I didn't think it was worth creating a fuss to change my room. The shower stall bathroom did not close all the way, so I got water all over the floor.

The water pressure on the faucet was strong so we were all wet when we tried to wash our hands the first night. It works the other way around from the country we came from so we almost always get splashed wet everytime we washed our hands. We eventually learned to control it though. Also, we were 2 but the toiletries only good for one. Despite all these i still give a high rating on this hotel because of the wonderful staffs and for the other services they provide. We also got a very nice hotel view. I will highly recommend this place.

We just stayed at the Sultan last week. This hotel is a really nice hotel in a good location. At first, I got a very old building room, I was a little bit uncomfortable, then I upgraded the room and I paid IDR200K/night for upgrading the room. I just give recommendations for the hotel safety because when someone visits me, they can easily came up and knocked on the door even though the hotel requires a card to go up on the elevator. It would be nice if the customer service confirmed to the room if someone was visiting for the safety of the guess, so the stranger won’t easily visit the room for the safety of the hotel.

This hotel has been around for a very long time and it was showing it. Settled in the Junior Suite for a number of days. There was fungus on the tiles in the shower and around the bath. The bath itself had seen better times having been patched up. The free mini bar was a sum total of 4 drinks. I got caught in the lift door which apparently had no safety feature to immediately open if you got stuck. WiFi was at best patchy. Staff however were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is also excellent.

The check in and room were okay. But disappointed with the old furnitures and also the cleanliness of the restaurant. The plates were not cleaned properly with food stain in it and the coffee cup have lipstick stain too. This is a 5 stars hotel and cleanliness is always a very important factor for every hotel

most convenient hotel next to JCC

the sultan hotel is quite an old hotel complex situated nearby a big park and JCC Jakarta Convention Center. If you are participating or attending any exhbition or event this is the ideal hotel havign a direct underway passage to JCC. Our stay was pleasant , rooms were comfortable, very rich breakfast and we were always assisted with a smile of experienced hotel staff.

Room - Huge, but rather run down. Design is definitely last decade, with very limited power plugs on the work table. With everyone carrying various mobile devices, it is best to get a multiple plugs
Wifi- Reasonably fast, no issue
Breakfast - Good selection, tasty Indonesian food to try
Service - Wonderful, everyone done their job perfectly. Other than an issue with my check-in confusion that made me waited more than 15 minutes at the counter, to which they did a good service recovery and damage control, there is no much issue

Location - mainly the reason of the lower score, unless you have an exhbition in the Jakarta which the hotel has a direct underground link, there isnt anything too near. few shopping malls are around but with Jakarta infamous traffic, you are looking at 20 to 30 minutes of car ride.

wet bathroom floor problem

bath room needs improvement. Water from shower floor and bathtub edge drains onto floor and take a drainage route that essentially means the full bathroom floor is wet.

Excellent staff!

The room itself is nice, facilities are also nice, but I found the staff made the real difference to my stay. Courteous, helpful and exceedingly professional. They also do laundry for two items per day for each day you use the hotel, which was also a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

I used to love staying at this hotel when its still Hilton for its name. Now the hotel is a little bit old, but it still has its charisma, and I still love it. Great service, I came on my birthday, and I think they noticed coz they upgraded my room from deluxe to grand deluxe, breakfast is great, the room is clean, and I hope they will renovate all their place, and rebuild their Traditional Indonesian lobby like before, I will definitely come here again

Nice place to stay

It's a short stay, but I fully aware there are more to explore than what I did. I haven't been the swimming pool even had a morning jogging around the hotel, heard there is a park and saw the pretty view from the buffet window. look forward to being there again.
One tip is : the charger adapter is not convenient in the room, usually the stars hotel should have the universal standards adapter~

really it is nice to stay in sultan hotel but there are some small things they should take care of.
the pillows are old and not five star hotel pillows also the spa is not up to the hotel standard very high price for normal service and the massage therapist usually don not give you the full time you asked for most likely for extra service she provides and ask for real high price for it so you pay for example 550k for 90 min she will charge you more than one million for 15 min of your time.so you loose money and massage time if you fell for there trick .

Grand Old Dame needing refurbishment

The Sultan was the Hilton during her heydays. Still charming but has lost the lustre of 5-start hotel. The exterior shows a looming tired hotel. The bathroom plumbing and drainage need upgrading.

The basic room is large in comparison to the newer hotels. Overall, the stay is still OK.

the swimming pool was under contraction so we had to use the other one at the residence which was very small for a hotel like this big . the staff was friendly . the room service was tough to get hold off as it wasn't answered at some occasions . they delivered fruits and newspaper every day which was good . room was very clean and housekeeping was good . all staff very very friendly and helpful .the hotel is very close to the JCC which was convenient for work

Good location near Pacific Place Mall

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Overall it felt slightly outdated, but the staff was pleasant and helpful, and it was conveniently located near Pacific Place Mall, where I was having meetings. The minibar was just a few sodas and a snack, but was included free with your room, which I thought was a nice touch. Decent hotel overall for the price.
