The Orient Jakarta Hideaway is a stylish, well-run hotel with a lot of personality. The design is genuinely chic—leather, aged wood, local art, and thoughtfully curated historical photos that make the whole place feel warm and intentional. The library in particular is stunning, and I found myself spending time there just to take it in. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, and amenities like the pool area felt properly staffed rather than “hands-off.”

The rooftop pool and hot tub are large, and the infinity view over the city is a highlight. The spa was excellent as well. Breakfast was another strong point: it’s order-from-the-menu rather than a buffet, but you can order as much as you’d like, and everything I tried was tasty. The location is central for getting around Jakarta, and I also appreciated that my colleague (who wasn’t staying at the hotel) was able to join me at the pool and in the library without any issues.

A couple of things are worth knowing. The room layout is unusual, with the sink positioned between the bed and the shower, and the toilet on the other side of the room, which may not be for everyone. Also, while it’s centrally located for driving, it isn’t very walkable—aside from the Mori building next door, crossing the major streets nearby can be difficult.

The staff are very friendly but lack some knowledge to help customer. The service can be improved. The lights in the room are very dim. Maybe that’s the vibe but it’s hard to see anything. Service for the room was very slow.
Location is convenient but when you need taxi or any other transportation the staff should be better equipped to help client w their need.
Overall stay was good. Breakfast was good and the spa was excellent.

Amazing

Absolutely wonderful artfully appointed decor in a sea of tranquility. The whole experience was beyond expectation. The room was spacious and the bed provided the most comfortable and restful sleep.
The staff were the best thing and went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. Modi was lovely and attended our every need and the lovely concierge was also fantastic.

We stayed at The Orient for a week as part of of our trip to South East Asia. The hotel was centrally located in Jakarta making it easy to access amenities, sightseeing spots, and get a feel for the city. The two pools (on the 5th and 32nd floors) provided spectacular views of downtown. The entire hotel is very stylishly designed and great thought has gone into the detail of the rooms, the corridors and the restaurants. The library is a like a gentleman's club. The jasmine scented corridors were an olfactory delight. Every meal we had was great and the staff could not do enough for us. Some standouts were Sarah and Robin in reception and Daffa, Fahrul, and Aditya in the restaurant.
The Sandjong Spa and its therapists (Fitria, Sarah, Nathania and Navitta) were professional and experienced despite their youth. All in all a great stay.

From A-Z my stay has been amazing. The staff were so polite and helpful. At breakfasts they offer A la carte and buffet with many choices. The swimming pool was not under the sun which i liked. The Deluxe room was spacious and clean. I highly recommend staying here. It exceeded my expectations.

I had a fantastic stay at The Orient Jakarta, a Royal Hideaway Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home.

The room was clean, beautifully designed, and offered a stunning view of the city. It was a perfect space to unwind after a day of exploring Jakarta. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast—absolutely delicious and well worth trying!

The hotel also boasts excellent amenities. The gym is well-equipped for a good workout, and the pool area is a relaxing retreat with great ambiance.

Overall, I highly recommend staying here. It’s a wonderful blend of comfort, style, and top-notch service. I’d definitely return!

Short stay in Jakarta

this is a reasonably new hotel with only three floors dedicated to hotel guests and the majority of the floors are residents but with a separate lobby and lifts.

The hotel's decor was very interesting. The rooftop bar and pool were excellent. However, drinks were expensive and average.

Our room was fairly spacious, but the interior layout was not the best. Although the king bed was very comfortable, it faced the shower and vanity, which was very odd.

The staff were very friendly and always attentive. Breakfast was good. Allowed you to order items from A La Carte menu with no extra charge plus buffet items.

Hotel is in the central business district of Jakarta. A taxi ride from airport only took 35 mins in the mid afternoon which is super fast for Jakarta traffic condition.

Location of the hotel is close to some of the biggest shopping malls in Jakarta, very handy if you need to do shopping and dining out.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience. The room was clean, with Indonesian traditional decoration while keeping the modern atmosphere, making for a relaxing environment. The hotel's location is ideal right in the heart of Jakarta. Closed to MRT station.

However, there was one issue shortly after I checked in. About 15 minutes into my stay, while I was trying to take a nap, room service unexpectedly knocked on the door and forced his way in without much notice, offering the room to be refreshed. This disrupted my nap, and I couldn't get back to sleep

That being said, the hotel manager was quick to address the situation and personally apologized for the mishap.

Despite this incident, I would still recommend the hotel for its quality service and great location. Just a minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable stay!

Loved our time here, staff were super efficient and friendly, food was pretty good, breakfast was good, the room was cool, very comfortable bed, big thick towels and the shower was awesome, good water pressure and hot water, no issues with water pressure like some hotels. The cafes and restaurants in the hotel were good, nice areas to chill if you have to kill some time. Rooftop cafe and pool was really good too, hot pool was very relaxing. Would definitely stay here again!
